Black and beautiful the crown of any man’s heart they are bewitched by her soul and her warmth.
My sweet sister draws you in with her smile, any man can find comfort in her arms.
She walks with a purpose, confident and pride knowing who she is... the queen of the Nile.

Without a doubt, her blood is royal strong and black like coffee with no cream not afraid to say what she means. No is no… yes is yes… no arguments after, no time for a debate.

My sweet sister, a woman full of hope and grace always on a mission, she knows her purpose and her place. My strong beautiful black African sister.

A Strong Woman

A strong woman doesn’t have to have the body that only society wants.
A strong woman doesn’t have to run a marathon.
A strong woman doesn’t have to wear a size zero.
A strong woman doesn’t have to have marvelous muscular masculine legs.
A strong woman doesn’t have to bike up a mountain.
A strong woman doesn’t have to work out for hours to make her tough.

A strong woman has the look of confidence written across her face.
A strong woman still stands tall when she is full of sorrow.
A strong woman does everything at a steady pace.
A strong woman won’t be afraid.
A strong woman keeps her head held high.
A strong wouldn’t care about what she weighed.
A strong woman never gives up.
A strong woman through hard times.
A strong woman is always tough.

Working long hours to make money,
She still makes time to ask,
“How was your day, honey?”
Instead of having a tall, strong stance,
She goes crazy
And she does the Carlton Dance.

She will turn your frown
Upside down.
She will always be there to help you-
For everything you go through.
She will have that shoulder to cry on.
Always- dusk until dawn.

She gives you the clothes on your back.
She gives you the food in your stomach.
She gives you the shelter above your head.
Even when she’s hanging by a thread.

You may say your super-hero is Spiderman…
Or Superman…
But my hero is my mom…
Because my mom is a strong woman.

Strong Woman

If you should ever see me cry, it is not because I am is because my eyelids are heavy from holding in all The pain in me...I have eyes to see the things I am supposed to see...Jesus died on a cross...the tears he weep was for me...I have the strength of all the king men!...and that alone makes me a STRONG WOMAN! I have a gift that was given to me, and that is my passion for writing. My inspiration that burns inside of me...I write from my heart and from the things I have seen, therefore my wisdom made me the woman I am now, and many before life path has been written out for me...and that's my motivation that guides me.

Strong woman
That woman
Who tears behind the mirror?
Made me who I am
My hardened heart she took
Tenderized it with love
Took my salty tears
Turned into joyful tears

That woman
Who sighs behind the mirror
Sighs in memory
Memories and feelings
Hardships she went through
To feed my whole stomach

That woman
The woman pulling back her mucors
Does so in fear
Fear that ill not be what she hoped
That teared woman
Crys in fast and prayer
Crys for my dark self
Cries for my future

That woman crying
Tears down her body fluids
Hopefully that her anger and disappointments
May atleast flow out with them
Her body almost running dry by now
That woman calls upon God
GOD atleast make him better
That woman cries for me
That woman cries for her lineage
That woman cries night and day

How I came to be
To be what I am
I don’t know how
A slave of the world
A slave with one work song
A song entitled failure
The first stanza of calamity
The last stanza dead man where I am heading

Looking at her cry
Twists my brains
Is this what I am?
Is this my purpose to the world?
Is this the man the world wants?
Is this what God spent time Molding
Is this what the bible describes?
Just for her
Just for her I take my life back
Just for her God I stand strong
Just for her I say no
NO no no this is not me

Come mummy take this handkerchief
I don’t wannna see those tears again
I love you mummy

As my parents aged
I was always close
these were the people
I loved the most

Now without them
to see each day
another journey
comes my way

A husband aging
that forgets my name
seems nothing here
is quiet the same

As constant care
is required each day
my mind aches
for days of play

Memories of yesterday
come calling at times
I am a strong woman
I will be just fine

Strong Women

A strong woman encompasses a certain vehemence for passion.
This type of desire is extremely mind-boggling and powerful.
This type of women is impossible to forget.

A passionate and incredibly “Strong” woman will leave him breathless
Many feeble and delicate “Women” try to please their man
They try their best to “Make” him feel the zeal, the craze, the lust
But a strong and “Amazing” woman is what he really desires
For these types of “Lovers” leave their man begging for more

I forgot I was a strong woman

The sharp pains reminded me of the sharp knives that I carefully avoided
the fears of the wounds haunted me
the reality of the the fresh incisions broke me
no single staple could hold the jagged edges
profusely bleeding pretending this stage was new
yet I have been here before
so many million times

I shamelessly looked at my feeble accomplishments
it had all been one step forward, two steps backwards
back in the same pit
covered by the same stench
same story, same characters
same ending

The now dried breasts missed the mouths that sucked on them hungrily
and the innocent eyes that sometimes watched from them
the once free laughter of a girl filled the air
there was life in it, there was power in it
it's tough being a woman

The barbed freedom crawled searching for a perfect fit
and if the perfect fit could not be found, the laughter landed on a lost boat in the middle of the sea
it got tougher

But when sisters came to the rescue
Reminding how to balance
Embracing the how of love
Leading the ways of healing
The pain slowly faded to its dark chambers
The strong slowly curved into my own wings

A strong woman

People say she is a daredevil,
Angel's grace she has,
Rigidity was in her by birth,
And it doesn't mean that she was heartless
Daring and dashing actions she performed,
Integrity was her other name,
So she is known as fire
Enseaming the painful past she made herself to live in paradise.

Standing Tall , Standing Strong

What doesnt kill us only makes us stronger
I've held on my whole life I think I can hold on a lil' longer
I stand here for every young woman whos ever had their innocence takin
I stand here for every young woman whos ever been beaten by their drug
addicted acoholic mother
Im standing tall, taller than ever
Im standing strong, stronger than ever
I stand here for every young woman who cried their self to sleep because the
pain was so bad from getting nothing to eat
I stand here for every young woman who had to steal to put clothes on their back
and shoes on their feet
Im standing tall, taller than ever
Im standing strong, stronger than ever
I stand here for every young woman who thought life wasnt worth it and wish they
would die
I stand here for every young woman who's ever contaplated suicide
Im standing tall, taller than ever
Im standing strong, stronger than ever
I stand here to let you know that you can stand tall stand strong and walk away
I stand here as a young woman who did
I stand here as a young woman who now knows there is a reason to live
Rember what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger
Youve held on your whole life I think you can hold on a lil' longer
Stand Tall Stand Strong and let the young woman of our future that there is a way
That there will be a bright and better day
Stand Tall, Taller than ever
Stand Strong, Stronger than ever

A Strong Woman

A Strong Woman

A strong woman :
With a great imagination,
after a terrible confussion-
caused by terrible depression,
after her sad obsession.

A strong woman :
with her ambition,
of a good construction-
from a very good education,
of a very good foundation.

A strong woman :
with tremendous vision,
of a tremendous mission-
from an outstanding dimension.

A strong woman :
who has an expectation-
that needs a great concentration-
and dedication avoiding violation.

A strong woman :
Who has an obligation,
that demands perfection-
although she's of imperfection.

A strong woman :
with a good intention,
to lead a strong generation-
to reach a final destination.

Her name is....... "A Strong Woman"

Strong Woman

You are a strong woman;
The one who feels deeply
The one who loves fiercely
Your tears flow abundantly
Just like your laughter

A strong woman
Both soft and powerful
Both practical and spiritual
Both lovely and careful
Both incredible and adorable

A strong woman
In your essence
A gift to the whole world
Happy women’s day

She has a strong heart

The struggles she has endured
The daily devotion of caring for her older son

But she is a fighter, not easily broken
She sees life through the lenses of a lioness

Her affection branches out little clones for the rest of us
Her wise positive words are flower beds that surround her
And those around her

A woman so strong

A woman so strong, our own Joan of Arc
Rose up amongst others to conquer the dark
Never once did she hesitate, always took the lead
Walked at the front, she knew what we need.

Today she decided to take another leap
Just another step, on a warpath ever so steep.
She entered the world where the sword has no meaning
For now she can rest in a life more appealing.

A mother at heart with tender understanding
She knew when to pause when her boy-child was stumbling
Her daughters she taught to be woman of note
This remarkable woman that life could not smote

Suffering for you did not come from the pyre
The pains that you bore in your heart you acquire
Steadfast in principle for that what was right
Now you can rest, its the end of the fight.

I finish school, worked and been through love.
these are the days of strong black woman.

I did wrong.
I picked myself up now the pain is gone.
these are the days of a strong black woman.
I said mean things to my mom.
I remember how she put me on this earth all the time.
these are the days of a strong black woman.
I cried and been through many bad choices.
I no them things was wrong but im strong.
Im a strong black woman.

I Am Still a Strong Woman

I Am Still a Strong Woman
I am a capable woman
I fear what life will bring for me
I hear people trying to make me deteriorate
I see pain and turmoil
I am emotionally distraught
I pretend that everything is fine
I feel pain and grief
I touch my scars everyday
I worry that I am not good enough
I cry because I don’t want to be like my mom
I dream that, someday, I will be content
I try not to let people bring me down
I hope that I can survive my past
Yes, I am STILL a strong woman.

Strong Woman

I'm the one you'll never understand,why can't you be real,why can't you be
honest and up front why must I be the woman that you want to screw, why can't I
be the woman that you want to have in your life, forever. when you see me you see
a positive strong woman one who won't take crap from any, who step to me,but
when you see me, you feel threatened by my looks, my seriousness makes you
scared to talk with me ,but yet I'm perfect in your bed.

Strong Black Woman

A Strong Black Woman
Is someone who can hold her own,
She's never weak
Always strong.

She's very independent
Don't need a man,
On her own two feet
She can stand.

She keeps her head up high
Never looking down,
She's very outspoken
Holds her ground.

She has a college education
Very smart,
She knew what she wanted
From the start.

Strong Black Woman
Don't need a man to have her back,
Always putting up with
They bull crap slack.

Strong Black Woman
Yeah she may have an attitude,
She may come off cocky
Sometimes a little rude.

She may have high expectations
May be commanding,
She may be a little bossy
A little demanding.

Her words may be harsh
She may act like she don't care,
But when you need her
She'll always be there.

Strong Black Woman
Yeah you got to give her respect,
Don't disrespect
Or she'll put you in check.

Strong Black Woman
Takes care of her family,
Don't go clubbin
Home is where she wants to be.

She keeps a good job
She'll never be in the cold,
Strong Black Woman
A hell of a title to hold.

Your amazing your strong the universe has your back

A dark place, A wet slimy wall and a damp cold floor, A refusal to surrender or to be seen as weak and needing of support, a mask of two hands, one voice.
A pin hole of light above my head, a dusty environment imagination projecting the universe, A faint sound of life beyond the old well, curiosity takes me away from the worry and i forget i am alone.
The well fills up with water the more fascinated i become in the wonder of life. The clear water gives me choices, keep laying and drown or suffer the movement of change and survive.
A couple of days or weeks maybe month pass and now i can see all the sunlight coming from the opening of the well, i am still up to my neck in water and it soon starts to rain, slowly washing all the old thoughts away, there is now water flooding into the well and naturally i start to kick my legs, i don’t want to die, i want to be happy again in the sunshine. I go with the follow, my head breaks through the darkness into the light.
I push down on my weak arms and climb out.
Two feet, Two hands, One park full of a million voices.
Your amazing, your strong, the universe has your back.

Growing Strong

At one point in time she was a loving wife
I'm sure she has been through every aspect of life
There is no doubt her divorce caused her strife
But she is still strong.....

When nights pass by and she's still alone with tear-filled eyes
All she has to do is look for her children; those are her golden prizes
Nothing can ruin her feeling of joy, not even silly lies
She remains to be strong......

A hundred hours a week dedicated to her job, her passion to help
She finds satisfaction in healing other's wounds, that's how she has always felt
A heart that remains strong and caring no matter what cards life dealt
She struggles but remains strong.....

This is also the woman who holds me when I fall flat on my face
Her words of encouragement telling me to take life pace by pace
Life isn't easy, she tells me and "That's just not the case!"
She teaches me to be strong.....

One day I know my mother will no longer be here for me
But I hope to make her proud by being half as strong as she
I want to be a woman like her, that's what I truly want to be
So she taught me to be strong......

Holding Strong

Some say they can do better
And they may fulfill
Just for a brief moment
But when the chips are down
They seem to scatter into a safe haven
Like the roaches they are
For the struggle is never smooth
It can be awkward
And graceless
So these many years later
We’re still here
A bit worse for wear
Yet still holding strong
Knowing those that have tried
To tear us from limb to limb
Have an upcoming appointment with someone
That holds the key to their future
As darkness envelopes for them
We have the light and we emerge
To a paradise in embrace.

The things in my life seem nothing more than a complex structure that I can no longer mold
or control.
I am a strong black woman in a world full of deception and criticism.
I am a strong black woman who cannot help to be independent, to have pride in myself.
I am a strong black woman who can understand the problems that we must face and overcome
to reach success.
The fact that I am all these things never ceases to amaze me but amazes others.
Amaze the ones who look down on me not because I possess all these qualities but because
I am black and a women in corporate America that I can stand on my own two feet and let
my opinions be heard.
Time have change this is no longer the 17th century where women must be seen but not heard.
This is no longer the 19th century where blacks must work on plantation and obey there
masters and be suppress from obtain any knowledge about the world.
I am a strong black women and I will fight to overcome all the barriers that surround not
only me but also other black women who feel suppress.
Fight to overcome the hatred, racism and male dominance that are placed not only in the
minds of adults but children that they cannot succeed unless they are a certain color or
I will fight for all those who can no longer fight for themselves.
As I unite the weak and make them strong with these powerful words of wisdom.
Words that they shall never forget “Strength lies within you and you must find the
courage to override all these hateful remarks to overcome your fears.”
Words that have made an impact in my life when I felt I was not strong enough.
I am a strong black women and I will conquer every challenge that passes by to take
control of my life.

Strong Woman Letting Go

Since the dawn of time a woman was been given a task
She was destined by her man to do all that he would ask
Have his children, cook his meals, be seen in a pretty dress
Have a cheerful demeaner, no matter how bad the mess…

But times changed with the coming of women’s equality
She was no longer a slave sitting at her partners knee
She was given inner strength, then she raised her mighty voice
“You cannot hold me down, for now you see I have a choice”

Relationships shifted, they’re no longer a one-way street
But burning bras, and taking control was not always a treat
You see, I like the differences between woman and man
I’ll keep my bra, I’ll clean the mess, I’ll do all that I can!

And when the problems get too much, and stifle every goal
Some ice cream, and a bubble bath will soothe my very soul!
