The ' Hoppy Ban '

So sad..Hopping in and Out of one' s life....

It's Peter Rabbit for Pete's" sake...

He comes by each and every year...

For this they say we should fear ?

Just to share a Spring holiday ?...

He's a horrid creature, so they say...

He has big ears and a cotton tail...

And sometimes he even carries a pail..

Full of candy, and colorful decorated eggs...

This day is between Valentine hearts , and Green Beer kegs....

He's rarely ever seen...

And has never ever been mean...

So why are all these American States...

Having all these holiday debates ?..

I await my basket filled with a chocolate kiss..

I only hope his picture does not end up on...

The Four Seasons

There are four seasons in a year. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. In the Spring time, you can enjoy the outdoors and go for a walk. And look at the trees turning beautiful colors, you can also enjoy raking the leaves into a big pile and jump into them. We also know the New Year is coming with Winter. Winter is a cold month with snow, now the children can play outside in the snow. And everyone else can enjoy the snow also.

Oh No! Oh No! What has my son done? I hope it’s, not already to late!
He lives at a fraternity house, and surely, you know THAT intense mental state.
March has St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break, and has, of course, Easter in it, too.
So they decided to have some great fun, yes, a fun filled month to happily ensue.

They invited a Leprechaun, the Easter Bunny, and the king of bongos, a gnome.
Apparently they convinced everyone it’d be more fun, to Simply… Stay… Home.
The whole campus flooded thru that fraternity house, in the party’s that ensued.
And they convinced the Easter Bunny to do jello shots in every color and hue.

He became known as THE BUN, yes, The One who finally, truly could fly…
And the Leprechaun danced till he dropped… to a great bongo serenade, aye.
There was no SIMPLY about this! As the music rocked the frat house, next door.
And girls were seen coming and going, at all hours, even passed out on the floor.

This was the party no one missed… even the frat house with the snobs, were there.
It’s said even some of the President’s security attended, partying there, somewhere.
Before they were done, a plan was sown, as the gnome found it’s yearly, new home.
Yes, it got there, in Washington somehow, on the top of the Real ‘White House’ Dome.

But along the way THE BUN was lost… some where along the never-ending roads.
The Leprechaun called me, our Dragons and Trolls, to help, to search the highroads.
The poor little guy was so pie eyed, when we found him along that crazy way, so…
We fixed him up, we didn’t give up, until we could send him, into that Easter Frey.

Walk in the Park on a Spring Day

Took a walk over to
     the small park
Near my home
   Sparrows hopping on the ground
and squirrels running by
    Brought some books
along with me
 intending to relax
   but nature drew me
and I watched the sparrow
   and the squirrel
They are alive!
I am alive !
A spring day on New York's
   Lower East Side
later on - A Memorial Day banquet
Looking forward.....

Easter Bliss

Easter eggs and jelly beans.
For younger persons and even teens.
The Easter Bunny and chocolate too.
Are happily awaiting - just to see you!

Easter flowers, silk, and lace.
Whether out of doors or at your place.
Spring is here all fresh and new.
Bring out the hot dogs and homemade stew!

Cream filled eggs and a chocolate bunny.
Is sure to make most people glad and funny!
Come on out now - one and all.
It's time for us to have a ball!

Mother Nature's awake - Spring has sprung!
We'll see what else now has begun.
Winter is gone - it's time to play.
Come on out now - and don't delay!

Spring Break

Spring Break

It is Spring Break
and we have a lot of cake
We are going to the Ocean
I cannot wait for all the motion

Everyone wears flip-flops
all the girls have cute bekini tops
But don't forget the sun screen
Cause you won't want to be seen

It is so much fun
playing in the warm sun
It is so good
We almost ran out of food

The Ocean is big and blue
almost like a tub of goo
We came back on the plane
This was awesomely insane

Spring Ahead of Schedule

Blossoms bright orange, gold and yellow
Planted bulbs rebirth anticipation
Robin red breast around fifty on the lawn

Robin pecking in the fresh turned soil, mellow
Credit card ordered more and more for satisfaction
Bills pile higher across my desk, collector on the phone

Spring is ahead of schedule until the great freeze
Spring is ahead of schedule until Easter.....If you please!

Shall We Retourne

Shall we retourne now to China
Celebrate this coming new year
To watch fire crackers and dragons
Spring festival season to cheer

Celebrate this coming new year
In fantastic Chinese style
Dance with farmers at temple fairs
Year of the monkey lets go wild

To watch fire crackers and dragons
Would surely be an awesome scene
Hanging red lanterns in the park
In the rich city of Beijing

Spring festival season to cheer
With silver ingots on our plates
Lots of delicious food and fish
And gifts of envelope’s await

The Wearing of the Green

Green grasses of the springtime
Perfume the warming air.
Apple and flowering cherry trees
Have donned their fresh new wear.

The blades of spring are spreading
Far across the valley land
When spring is in its infancy
Drab colors have been banned.

St Patrick’s Day is nearing.
Mark the date, March seventeen,
And everyone is Irish
With the wearing of the green..

A Day on the Lakes

It’s a day in April
having a sail on Lake Windermere
lovely views all around
feeling at peace and no fear

The trees and the hills
Look so very green
Reminding me it is spring
With all it’s splendour so clean

Leaving now in the afternoon
to sail back to Ambleside
the sun is out, thankfully
feeling it’s warmth like a newly wed bride

Such a relaxing day
such a joy to behold
such a pleasurable time
a moment forever told

Love Tanka for Joyce

how can I love you

when we live so far apart

our kisses meet only

over phone lines but our hearts

feel the love behind our words.

Spring From The Desert

Spring from the desert
where the wildflowers bloom...
where the birds chirp in the warm sun
and find their seed.

Among the sycamore, the grape vine,
the tall pine and palm.
Even the snowbirds bask their limbs
in the desert sun.

Spring is ever so present
in the morning hue...
As Cupid begins to bend his bow
early this season.

The morning jog is once again
fresh this time of year,
When the spirit of renewal
is upon my soul.

How the music rings sweetly
from the concertos in time...
tis a blessing which finds peace
in the light of day.

As the birds chirp...
and the little children are at play,
Spring from the desert
brings forth goodness today.

Spring holiday fever

Daffodils bunch, spring has sprung,
Sun raises higher to waken sleepy heads;
No time for hibernation now as spring fever hits, -
create time to get together; go fly a kite,
or sit and chill, make daisy chains.

Let the sunshine bring warm sunny days.
In meadows baby lambs take their first steps;
whilst mad March hare hops and plays
with baby bunnies dotting the green fields
of the countryside.

A season where everything wants to bloom,
time to trim those lawns and weed again;
and all just in time before spring rains
will once more aid those thirsty
flowers and bulbs as they grow.

For it is now that gorgeous butterflies
flutter gracefully by giving nature a helping hand;
pollinating the kingdom while watching little chicks -
crack open their Easter eggs, just in time
to join in the madness of this happy holiday season.
