In skies of blue or stormy seas
I am awed by nature's beauty
In fragrant rose where beauty grows
I praise the Lord who made all these
Daffodils that sway in the breeze
While willows grow where rivers flow
In skies of blue or stormy seas
I am awed by nature's beauty

When I hear the nightingale sing
So much joy to my heart it brings
In fragrant rose where beauty grows
While willows grow where rivers flow
In skies of blue or stormy seas
I am awed by nature's beauty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

The weeping willow is outside you see
Even though it is beautiful it wasn't meant to be,

Our willow is huge and hangs to the ground
When the wind blows you hear it all around,

It's beauty is timeless and very much alive
But, on a sad note it is not wanting to survive,

It will be sad to see an empty space
Till the new tree we plant that will take its place,

The weeping willow will definitely be gone
I am sure late at night you will hear its song,

Weeping and crying for all of us to hear
Because after all the roots are left that will shed its tears.

     The joyous scent of living
          That leaps from life's perfume
     Spring murmurs its beginning
From hope and dreams in bloom

The choir of color sings of thee
With hues in rich new verse
As if this song was meant to be
          From rhymes all well rehearsed

As petals graced with morning dew
          Rise softly towards the sun
So in Spring hope doth renew
Its perfect Love for life begun.

Sun brush slow as dawn's light breaks
kiss gently on this heart that wakes
warm up days til night stand guard
when breeze blows brisk and mighty hard

Tap lightly on her peeked cheek this morn
where thoughts of love and life are born
bring forth to her peace and hope
and faith in man from words God spoke

Impart comfort and ease in rays you share
lighten our load on that cross we bare
Rise up high and in blue skies do rest
soothe our souls with loyal hearts abreast

Sun brush slow as dawn's light breaks
Paint with grace 'pon swan still lakes

The way I feel, each day the bright sun would shine
Your beauty extends into the heavens
Together, we can live life to the fullest
Two hearts are beating, strong and true

     Your touch paints the Heavens
     The fulfillment of my dreams
     I Can't Describe
It is ... the way I feel
It is ... the way I feel

I never knew about love and bliss
You light up everything for me
Make the world give us a little more time
With our hearts bonded and melted

     Your touch paints the Heavens
     The fulfillment of my dreams
     I Can't Describe
It is ... the way I feel
It is ... the way I feel

There’s no easy answer for this marvelous feeling
We humans always a need for fire and heat
Together we're blessed with a perfect match
A future where you and I always would strive side by side

     Your touch paints the Heavens
     The fulfillment of my dreams
     I Can't Describe
It is ... the way I feel
It is ... the way I feel

I've Scribbled This Song For You...

I'm wasting my days,
my empty nights too,

I should have held on,
but I simply lost you,

now I stagger along,

wearing broken smiles,
in between hell and you,
there's a million miles,

yes, I should have kept,
you close to my skin,

soaking your warmth,
but you were laughing,

at my foolish grin...

now I'm all broken,
and torn apart,

but what the hell,
I was always late,
for the tolling of the bell,

and now...

now I stagger along,

wearing broken smiles,
in between hell and you,
there's a million miles,

so kiss me now like you once did,
I'm tired of being so carefully hid,

la laa laa la laa laa laa...

(repeat to fade)

seal with a kiss ...
a love song

at first glance
of song and dance
his eyes caught her twine
she was more than divine

at first glance
of song and dance

she, a different bred
but he liked her lead
she was tomboyish
all over than lavish

at first glance
of song and dance

she was bikes in mud
more than perfume in suds
polyesters and tank tops
than finer dress shops

at first glance
of song and dance

she, a bowl of country soup
a little of this, a little of that
she could outdo your lips
without any slips

at first glance
of song and dance

she had look and providence
rode the island in consonance
she had a chime and a chant
that can make men pant

at first glance
of song and dance

in his dreams he took her hand
together they stand
bare backs they scratch
an egg is hatched

at first glance
of song and dance

love is in the air
package with care
seal with a kiss
swim, swim in bliss

on the horizon
of song and dance

two little seals swim
windless of cares and whims
freer to be as one
happy that life begun

on the open sea
of song and dance

there the seals be
volleying a ball of glee
like words, from noses to noses
in the end, words turn to roses

on the setting sun
of song and dance

the first glance, a spark
a chance rose from the dark
together they sing along
to morning dawns

I've listened to it's calling, in awes amazement
Felt the rush of the waves between my bare feet,
Allowing the bubbles of sea form to explode,
As I spread my toes digging them deeply,
 Within the beaches warm sand.
Then at this moment of perfect splendor,
I pondered in thoughts deep contemplation,
At natures raw marvelous wonderment.
Oh how I envy the seagulls above,
Whom soar above this blue blue aquatic world,
How free they seem to dive admits the powder clouds
Of the divine, crying in joys liberation.
These master fisher birds, gleaning morsels of
Food at the surf of the waters top layered edges.
White winged creatures hanging effortlessly
Upon breezes of air, rippling over the currents
 Tidal surges.
Behold the epic beauty of the timeless sea, it brings
The sacred heavens themselves to weep, the angelic
Angels tears fall from Nervous itself, melting the sky's
Blue to blend with the waves, giving the bluish tint to
The aquatic world of elegance beneath.
Against the sheltering coves coral reef,
Within the wake of the rolling riptides crashing,
Scattered are the delicate aquatic trumpets of Poseidon.
A tender weepings sounding, is heard within
The hardened shelled cocoon of the sea shells,
As they wash upon the sandy shore.
Hush now mortal and listen to the sweet song of
The sea, softly it so plays in meiotic rhythm,
Enchanting the vision insight of clarity, to beguilement
Of tranquility.
Can you not the hear the swaying of the tropical trees,
Lightly being caressed by the breezes of the sea,
On the distant shores of enlightenment.
At twilight's golden hour of sunset, the lord spreads
Wide his miraculous canvas, to display his master
Work of divinity.
A brilliance shimmering in light of the divine,
Held encapsulated within the sea shells song.

The Memories of a Dancing Peacock
( Based on a true incident captured in my Camera )

I was in a mood to sing, and

The Peacock was in a mood to dance,

My singing came, while watching the beauty and

The beauty started unfolding its wings and charms,

As if the Peacock was listening the songs,

I was singing, silently in my mind.

Oh, what a joy it was to feel and share,

Those wonderful moments

I spent with that beautiful bird,

Who kept dancing and dancing,

Till the song continued in my mind silently.

You and I may not be dancing or living forever, O, bird,

But the image, which you have engraved on my mind and

The rhythms of that joy and pleasure,

Which you have left,

Would continue to generate always,

The music of silence and beauty in every mind.

My petal love
tonight we sing
our souls fill with joy
I poet
have flowers and song for you...

Wine and dinner awaits
a most alluring Spanish moon
has risen over the sea
it is burning
suspended in center of sky
shining on all of the earth...

So sweetly comes the night air
I have roses and carnations
divine for you
small violets with lure of passion
and poignant tone
sweet chocolates for you to choose...

After dinner we shall stroll
down to the seaside
where no one shall see us
and what we have come here to do...

Your voice of fallen air
in zone of wonder in ardent dusk
marches playfully through my ears
as the night falls around us...

It is your orchid my love
my shepherdess of milk white dreams
later tonight my beloved
I will make bouquets of water
kisses upon your breasts and thighs
all with the fragrance of these flowers
I will savor you with joy...

The creator has created you
so you can nourish me
A laying tide of inarticulate air
breaks in front of us
the sea in foam
A symphony beautiful some god has forgotten...

I need your fragrant love
like the flowers need the water
we will see and hear the darkness go
perhaps see the morning light play
come my beloved petal
we live the dream of love tonight...

Dear dragonfly, you hover from flower to flower
But there is one which you always seem to linger on
When the world stops and time stays at the magic hour
You spread your golden iridescent wings chiffon
To catch the welcoming smile of dawn
Royal rays filtering through transparent cells
Landing on the little place where a fairy dwells

Seeking the one true taste that will give him power
Sweet essence melting sunshine beams upon
Striking bells bewitching beauty develops showers
Sparkling the day creeping spells spawn
Fountain of forever young whistles a robin's song
Each an echo inside warmly touches shell
Landing on the little place where a fairy dwells

Lord of the skies mesmerizing regal high towers
Into the fair realm rainbows touch upon
Opening a doorway into the deepest bowels
Another world one kingdom awakens sighing yawns
Eyes within a spirit conquering glances breaths of light shone
Under the hawthorn blossoms enchanting smells
Landing on the little place where a fairy dwells

Wing-whirring basking in the sun to empower
The little shy being standing in the shade beyond
Gazing upwards at the motion camouflage in wonder
Darting across visions softly skimming over the pond
Kissing a twig gradually sprouting a magical bond
Synchronized heart wings beating under one's spell
Landing on the little place where a fairy dwells

Rhapsody playing its crescendo in love's...
Melodic opera's notes; as slowly she lowers
Her sundress, while shyly brushing aside silks
Golden hair gazing into paradise and she smiles
Enchanting her long dark lashes kissing gently my
Warm beating heart her mistress fingers dew within
Every gentle touch destined and nothing can compare
Oceanic fair fondly lying aside her beauty yearnful risen
Spirits to be quenched; thirsting a soothing as she my lips.

The waves lick the pier-deck beams,

a boat has passed upon the lake

to shuffle the song upon the wind,

   ebbing whooshes.....

The smoky waters still to tease

   slow with ancient whispers,

The Loon leads upon the woody melody,

   some sylvan songster

   too beautiful to languish,

   still sleeping....

Not floating upon the dawn

   through misted peace;

   all ears have heard

   the first kiss of throngs,

Gentle as waves upon the tide,

from the very earth it seems....

   the sweet haunting cry

   echoes souls through silts

   leagues deep,

The very marrow of stone,

   and pine and leaf,

A morning hushed but for its

   pretty plea, a male perhaps

   (so tender with feminine appeal)

They all call so, pillowed

   their first-light throngs,

Angels upon the deep billowed morn,

Where the very clouds above

   have seemed to hover

   above the lake along,

Their soothing cry

   fills the waking wood....

   hushed waters, still as stars

   feeds the twilight with song

(pining through hovering hats of mist)

1/ To be continued in many parts

It was a different era and it’s a different story
Of a boatman and his enchanting melodies
An Apsara* falling in love with that boatman
But the boatman having a different love story

The boatman used to carry simple villagers
From one bank of the river, to its other bank everyday
While moving his boat on the river
He used to sing those heart touching stories

His voice in itself was a melody
Bestowed on him by the Goddess Saraswati*
And his love songs were the songs of true love stories
Sung by the boatman, in full throated ease and beauty
While oaring his boat in the river side stream
Flowing between a Jungle, on one bank side of the river
And long sand dunes spreading
All over the other non ending side of the river Ganges

Charmed by boatman’s voice and songs
And charmed by the beauty of the enchanting Jungles*
Spread all along the one side bank of the calmly flowing river Ganges
His passengers used to get lost in the melodies of his songs
So long as his boat was moving from the sand bank of the river stream
To its Jungle end every time the boatman carries some passengers

One day the echoes of his melodies crossed
The airy levels of earth and started flowing
Like a soothing cool breeze, even in heaven
And charmed all the heavenly bodies in the court of Indra*
He listened them almost spellbound and became enchanted
By the echoes of those unheard melodies of the boatman

Urveshi* who was a crown beauty among the Apsaras* of Indra*
And was much more than, beautiful and charming
Among all the Apsaras of heaven, found her lost in hearing
The echoes of those love songs sung by the boatman

Urvasi found one day after hearing those echoes
That she was in love with them and became restless
To hear the real songs of the boatman, while sitting before him
In his boat in the river Ganges on earth

Urveshi asked the Lord of Heaven Indra*
If she can go to earth to hear the songs of the boatman
As the echoes of his songs had made her restless beyond imagination
She found that even she can not enjoy the heavenly pleasures
Till she quenches her thirst of listening the melodies
Of that boatman, he was singing on earth

Living on the lower side
Of town just gets me down
There ain't no money
Ain't no work here to be found

There ain't no luck and I
Ain't seen no magic charms
The only magic that I've found
Is in my babys arms

Litter lines the city streets
To show how much we care
Flowers die and birds get high
From breathing filthy air

I look around and try
To see where beauty lies
The only beauty that I've found
Is in my babys eyes

People try to tell me
We're living in a fantasy
But they don't understand
It's real for her and me

They try to tell me
We're making a mistake
If that means loving her
Then that's the chance I'll take

Remind me of you The rush of the wind as its tickling branches A bluebird in song as the spring does arrive Crickets abound with their vocal performance It’s the music of nature that keeps us alive Leaves on the path as they crackle and flitter Soft falling snow as it forms on the ground Squirrels that chatter from tree top to tree top Surrounded we are with a wonderful sound Long distant thunder that rumbles profoundly As if to say hey there, look up at me Rain on a tin roof that taps us in wonder These are the tones we can listen for free The buzz of a bee as it searches for nectar Acorns that tumble a thud to the earth The peep of a new baby sparrow that’s hungry Harmonies whisper the glory of birth Echoing geese as they soar through the heavens Trumpeting swans now a’ float on the lake Children at play as they learn new adventures A rooster that crows for its time to awake A fog horn now calling the lost on the ocean The crash of a wave as it reaches the shore Seagulls that scream us their maritime sonnets Sandpipers squeal as they come back for more Melodies heard filling each walk of nature Symphonies built on what’s real and so true Songs sung of life that inspire the feelings Beautiful things that remind me of you

The Boatman’s Song 5/Many

Where one very rarely finds love, hopes and joy in life
Sometimes, even the noblest souls on earth
Have suffered tortures and pains
Even some have sacrificed their lives in agonies and pains
So that others may see that beam of light

Think again Urveshi think
The ecstasies of the joys and thrills
You have witnessed in the pleasures of
Your dance, music and dwellings
Which no humans can even think of
Would be lost for ever and for ever
And you will also miss the most
Prominent among all
The blessings of heaven to keep you young
And beautiful, without aging for ever and for ever

The charms of youth which you are enjoying here
Would no longer be there on earth
Aging and wrinkles, sorrows and worries would
Evaporate slowly, the glow of your skin and charms
Time would also erode slowly the heart capturing
Beauty of your enchanting eyes and the youthful beauty
Of your rising and falling bosoms
Slowly very slowly your dance steps would miss
The youthful rhythms of your legs
And more slowly your songs will miss
The melody of your tongue and voice

You would also see that your fans here and there
And dear ones too would fly
With the passing of time on earth
Leaving you alone without any one to adore
And no one to praise and to throw even a
Lovely glance on a beauty on decline

The glory of your name and fame
Would get lost with the passing of time
And even the most close to your heart too
Would not stand to console and support you
In the hours of your need and time

Can you imagine Urveshi, such a life?
And such an end of your rejuvenating beauty
And an end of your glorious
Youthful performances of heaven
In the hands of time and mortality on earth,

Here in Heaven you are the queen of
Everyone’s heart
Your ravishing beauty and heavenly youth
And the melody of your songs and dance
Would remain young and evergreen
For ever and for ever
Without ever experiencing, what is an old age
Pains, sufferings and the agonies of departing
From your most dear, near and beloved ones
Which often kills the human hearts
Making them weeping and rolling in tears

The boatman’s Song 10/Many

The beauty of that black horse got doubled
With the glittering beauty of the princess on the horse
Who was elegantly riding that black horse beauty
While coming towards the boatman with a speed
He had never seen earlier, when a lady was on a horse

Her shining long black hairs and few locks on her face, were
Blending with the ravishing beauty of her charming face
Which even the sunbeams were trying to penetrate
To kiss her rosy lips and her glowing lovely face
And with each gush of morning beams
A blush came on her lovely face
On which hundreds and thousands can live and die
And can wait for a whole life to see that face

Her body was glittering like a gem
Because of her teenage and beauty excelling her age
And her youth over sprouting from her bosoms
From her princes sly top and riding trousers
She was dazzling the eyes of the boatman
As there was no one else
Who could dare to behold her beauty and grandeur
Which was par excellent, any where on earth

She stepped down from the horse back
With a beautiful sharp jump on the sand
And stood beside the heavenly beautiful horse
She saw the boatman was standing near his boat
And was singing a melody unaware of her gaze

The moment the princess heard that voice
Her heart jumped from her chest
Which had just calmed from thrills
As she had stepped by jumping from the horseback
And her body had calmed only few seconds back

Enchanted and allured by the beauty and heaviness of voice
And totally stunned to see his manliness, so warrior like tight
She forgets her princes sly pride and got lost in adoring
His song and his enchanting voice
Coming from the depths of that singers heart
Suddenly she found herself standing before the boatman
Lost in his heart capturing eyes

There was no one else except these two
And the boatman could not believe
Whether it was a dream or a reality come true
He too was lost in the charms of her eyes
And even forgot to finish the song he was singing
And felt only that someone was penetrating
In his heart and mind, deep some where very deep

The Boatman’s Song 3/ Many

Indra was aware that Apsaras Urveshi
Was the incarnation of heavenly beauty
And her restlessness and impatience can spoil
The very beauty of her body and dance
Which was the pride and embodiment of perfection

He also knew that without Urveshi
Even the heaven would look lifeless, without any beauty
Everyone in heaven had thrown their hearts
To get only one glance of Urveshi’s adorable loving eyes
During her dancing sessions, the junior Gods of Indra used to remain glued
Sometimes forgetting even their breathing

Such was the magic of her beauty, dance and songs
Even Indra often found himself lost in beholding
The flawless figure of her body and her lovely dance forms
And such was her dancing skills that even Apsaras
Used to get lost in the sweetness of her voice
And the thrilling and joy of her skillful dance

Lord Indra’s realization of Urveshi’s feelings

Indra was thinking, whether to allow her to visit the earth
To hear the melodies of the boatman or
Not to allow her, as it could be risky for a woman like Urveshi

Urveshi may get tempted and may fall in love
With that earthly voiced singer, whose songs
Are echoing beyond the horizons of earth
And have reached even in the sphere of heaven

Indra was aware that Urveshi was the most beautiful
Among all the Apsaras of heaven and of the entire universe
And if she keep on worrying about the boatman’s songs
At the cost of her dances, joys and pleasures
It was going to spoil her lavishly bestowed beauty
Which glitters and glow or get pale on a woman
As per the love or longings blows in her heart and reflects on her face

"Wind Song"

Whispering secrets heard, as she passes through the trees
Fluttering, shaking, caressing, thousands of shimmering leaves

She cools the farmers brow, whips up dust devils in the fields
Bringing the scent of rain and hope of better yields

Flag gently waving with abreath of air
Or billowing wildly with a gust and fanfare

Dancing on the pavement, leaves crisp and brown
Swirling high in the air, slowly spiraling down

Holding the magic of a trains' lonesome notes
Cherishing a memory as the song softly floats

Oh! and the fury of the hurricane gale
Or spinning and churning, as a tornado spits hail

She soothes us... she cools us... her repertoire has no end
This blustering, billowing, breezy, thing called simply...Wind

                                                                           Debra Irsik

The Boatman’s Song 9/Many

After taking some passenger, the boatman moved his boat
And while oaring the boat he started his singing
Tarang felt as if, someone was pouring honey in her ears
While her heart and mind got enchanted by the song of the boatman
It was a rare pleasure for a nymph, to hear such a voice on earth
For a very long time she could not know, how much time passed away
She found the boatman was about to reach the other bank’s end

The Boatman was lost in his own world of thoughts
Tarang* thought to find more from his mind
As she was capable to enter in a human minds to know its
Past, present and even future designs
She took a dive deep into his busy mind and
Traced all that she wanted to find, within no time

But to her surprise, there were many things
Totally different than what she was expecting to find
The boatman was a prince in exile, escaped to save his life
From those who were trying to kill him
To rule his fathers kingdom and he was living in disguise

From seeing his body Tarang had felt herself
That this man is not an ordinary Youngman
Having all the qualities of a true warrior like body
But what shocked Tarang was the knowledge
Of the boatman’s love affair with a princess
For whom he was looking at those sand dunes
And for her only he used to sing those heart touching songs

Tarang* knew that this truth would be devastating for Urveshi*
Who has come to earth, all along from heaven
As she is deeply in love with this extra ordinary man
Who is so appealingly charming and handsomely bold
In spite of his just crossed teenage, he looks like chief of an army
Only his soldiers appears to be missing or at rest
Such was the real beauty of that boatman
Whose entire life was open before Tarang* like a book
And she could see even his future so bright
But Tarang* was sad to know all that
As her friend Urveshi* was going to affected badly
When she would know that the boatman was
Already in love with a princess of alluring beauty

Boatman’s love story

Tarang traced the love story of the boatman
Which began one day, when he was waiting in his boat
For some passengers to come to move the boat
From the river bank side
Suddenly he saw someone coming on a horseback
The riders black horse was shining
In that white sand spread all around, he could see that side

She was a dairymaid, oh so sweet; many a year ago. Her figure was trim, her hair was neat, with ringlets tied up in a bow. And many a farmer would leave his plough, the turkeys and chickens, and even the sow, to stand and stare, a-mopping his brow, and watch her a-milking go! For, they love little Marigold, sweet little Marigold, answer to every man’s dream. They all start a-swooning, when she gets a-spooning out dollops of thick clotted cream! Now Harry had horses, a harrow and cart; many a year ago. Yet nobody managed to capture his heart, but many a girl had a go! Until the poor fellow, early in May, when resting, awhile, from stacking the hay; he saw her pass by, ‘twas late in the day. She set all his passions aglow! For, he loved little Marigold, sweet little Marigold, answer to every man’s dream. And Harry got swooning, when she started spooning out dollops of thick clotted cream. Now Danny was dapper, a bit of a lad; many a year ago. He’d brag and he’d boast, of ladies he’d had, in rain and the sun and the snow. This elegant card, when down in the yard, was feeding the goats and taken off guard, he fell for her charms; it hit him quite hard. She set all his passions aglow! For, he loved little Marigold, sweet little Marigold, answer to every man’s dream. And Danny got swooning when she started spooning out dollops of thick clotted cream. Poor Percy, the poacher, was lonely and sad; many a year ago. The Landlord’s fat pheasants, he frequently had; but never a lass did he know. One day he was pulling a hare from the trap, when smitten quite hard, a right thunderclap, her dazzling smile befuddled the chap. She set all his passions aglow! For, he loved little Marigold sweet little Marigold, answer to every man’s dream. And Percy got swooning when she started -spooning out dollops of thick clotted cream. Sir Walter was wealthy. His furrows were long; many a year ago. ‘Twas brandy he loved. He drank it quite strong, in pub after pub he would go. He wasn’t too happy, he had to admit, to give it all up and totally quit, in case his performance should suffer, a bit, when passion was all set aglow! For he loved little Marigold, sweet little Marigold, Answer to every man’s dream. Sir Walter got swooning when she started spooning out dollops of thick clotted cream. Young Bertie was batty and thick as a brick; many a year ago. He bumbled around, he wasn’t too quick; of ladies, he just didn’t know. When Marigold heard a sound that was slurred, it wasn’t a bird, nor sheep in a herd, much more like a grunt and less like a word, it set all her passions aglow! Now poor little Marigold, sweet little Marigold, Is mooching around in a dream. No longer a-spooning; at Bertie, she’s swooning. He doesn’t like thick clotted cream! ~

THEY graze in beauty on the land
of grassy glades and dewy dales,
and all that's best of tamed and tanned
     meets in their aspect and their tails;
thus mellowed to that tender hand
which Shepherd to gentle glen compels.

One fleece the more, one spot the less,
     had half-repaired the shearless grace
which wreathes in every woolen tress
or darkly tightens o'er their face,
where eyes serenely sweet express
how pure, how dear this grazing race.

And on that rump and o'er that round
so fat, so plump, yet elegant,
the baas that win, the hooves that bound,
but tell of days in meadows spent—
a flock at peace with all around,
a drove whose milk is innocent.

Radha’s Song- A folk Song of India 2/2

Prelude

This folk song is based on the childhood incidents
of naughty 8-10 years old Krishna, who use to
please everyone of Gukul village, Gokul is the
place where the divine Krishna was brought up
by his foster mother Yashoda.

O, Please tell me, what should I do,
Speak a word, to extinguish my worries,
I cannot live, without seeing,
The alluring face of our naughty Krishna.

O, please tell my friend, how should I manage it,
What plea and excuse dear, I can tell in my home,
How to go back to home, without Gagariya and Chunri,
Even without water, which would create only difficulties for me.

Stunned and mesmerized, by the magic of our Krishna,
I stand here only, in a state of being sweetly robbed,
Instead of searching my Chunri and Gagariya, O Sakhi,
I am trying to touch his alluring image only, in the water.

Clarifications:
*Radha. Radha was the childhood friend and was one of the most beloved Gopi of Lord
Krishna. She was the beauty, power and aura create the ethics of love. None of the
scriptures consists of the power to verbalize her beauty, for it is clear enough that when
beauty of Sri Krishna makes several hearts leave their boundaries, her beauty is so
mesmerizing that it makes Him loose consciousness.
*Krishna. Krishna is often depicted as an infant or young boy playing a flute as in the
Bhagavata Purana or as a youthful prince giving direction and guidance as in the Bhagavad
Gita. The stories of Krishna appear across a broad spectrum of Hindu philosophical and
theological traditions.] They portray him in various perspectives: a god-child, a model
lover, a divine hero and the Supreme Being.
*Gagariya. The earthen pot used still in Indian villages to collect water from river, pond
or wells.
* Chunariya. A long strip of cloth to cover the beauty of a woman. It normally hangs on
the bosom to cover them.
Punghat. Is the word used for a place from where water can be collected by village women
of India.
*Sakhi. Hindi word means female friend

Gazing out upon dusky barren moor,
Where gray grass grasps the air
Finding no purchase but sad allure
Straight stalks elapse their endless despair.

Teased by tales of golden reach
Tricked by gales, whose song they preach.

Redtail’s velvet wings breach the sky,
Maroon lips who kiss the grass
Stirring the song, its desperate sigh
Catching the words, her beak of crystal glass

Behind her, midnight shadow draws
Fells her beauty with unseen charcoal paws

Scarlet tears dampen the earth below
Nurture the roots held by dusty truth
Finally, the wind, gray grass’ will bestow
The hawk once, now the fountain of youth.

Litany of silence reigns in dusky glare,
Each blade bowed in mournful prayer.

Colors of the spectrum Light up my world Bright rays dancing Shades enhancing The kaleidoscope of sound I can feel it all around A whisper on the wind The murmur of the stream Rustling of leaves Creaking of the eaves Roaring of the waves Cooing of a babe Birds a chirping Bees a buzzing Thunder rumbling Mountain crumbling Ringing honking Beeping thumping Crashing clanging Booming bopping Intermingling all together In every season, scene or weather And it echoes in my head As I lie on heather beds Such a masterful symphony Sweetest ever melody, All the world´s life in harmony.
