Soul mates solace

When my final shadows cling on desperately
Where I fight formidable battles
to merely hold the light
I send you loving vibrations
and soul sustenance
Deep from the cathedral
of one heart to another
where today no choirs sing
nor symphonies play
Yet it is here where we meet
in spiritual solace
here to surrender
and exchange inestimable treasures
recollecting memories
like unopened letters
Galaxies are stretched
over chronicles of shared history
Nebula birthing stars
will be exposed
in forth-coming conversations
bringing short-lived fulfillment to you
Hungry to feast
now will be the time
to approve your blood art vision
and with my own haunting surrender
as dappled shades ink stain your chest
I will reside with you and share, mesmerised
pens - by branding
as this will be your written reams to me
your artist's pallet or brushed canvas
no need for words
and yet creating
mysterious magical moments
Bitter-sweet the music
that dances taut guitar strings
but now blood approved
please go kick your heel up
return to your laughter
and ride on the breeze
for not all are lost
change not
for I am with you always
to love, listen and comfort as one
with you in me and I in you
as masterpiece

A Lost Soldier

He wrapped his arms around me
Never wanting to let go
I gently whispered in his ear
Daddy, when you coming home?

He said I'm off to battle today
To heal the wounded soldiers cries.
I don't know when or if I'll be back
The tears began to flood my eyes.

As father walked away
His smile, it did gleam.
His final words to me
Became but a nightmare within a dream.

The bomb rang out
Through the desert air.
When the dust did settle
They found father there.

The soldiers stood at attention
They saluted their brother goodbye,
And the eagle spread its wings
As a true American soldier, had died.

I FEEL YOU DRIFTING

You can go on that trip, my love I am allowing you to. The world is a vast and beautiful place So much to explore Without me We did so much together rode my wheels shared our bodies near the campfire With soft and tender arms Tamed broken pasts Cried and yelled at the moon and crushed nightmares Drank together and helped each other back to bed Sweetheart, I love you But I cannot bind you to me I see the longing in your eyes while you are watching these mountains those sunsets. I feel you drifting Like a traveller in time from my heart, from my love from my arms I will not keep you Freedom is important The wild roar of your heart is not for me anymore I am allowing you He is lovely So go, my love Climb that mountain in the sunset I will watch you with a smile and eternal love in my heart. *** January 18, 2017

I'm my Daddy Made Over

Dedicated to my Dad Jerry W. Niday 3/20/1952 - 6/18/2013

I am who I am because of him
He’s the reason for my son’s name
He gave me my courage & my strength
To stand tall even when standing wasn’t easy
Stand for the ones who can’t
To think and fend for myself
I’m my Daddy made over

Taught me to fight back
To never back down
How to pick myself back up
When I’ve been knocked down
Fight for what I believe
I’m my Daddy made over

He gave me my stubbornness
Gave me my pride
Gave me my temper
Taught me not to take crap
To speak my mind no matter who
Work for what I want
I’m my Daddy made over

How to keep my emotions in check
How to handle large amounts of pain
When in trouble he always had my back
He knew how my mind worked better than anyone
I got it from him
I’m my Daddy made over

Even though he’s gone
I’ll stand and continue on
I may stumble I may fall
May even get hurt along the way
But I’ll pick myself back up
I’ll dust myself off and stand tall
I’m honored and proud to say
I’m my Daddy made over

--Goodbye--To my Addiction-

The time has come to part,
I will leave many with broken hearts
If one day you call on me,
I'm sad to say I will hold my tongue missing each one relentlessly
I'm not doing this for me; I am doing this for you
I could stay here and win, and not give in
But, this soup bowl comes with demons and nasty shadows
Demons and nasty shadows, taking and crashing my light
Demons I had to fight off the entire time I was here
Shadows hating the way I welcomed every poet with a happy cheer
Demons and shadows whom drown in their selfish everyday pity.

For those smiling on my departure,
I want you to have this wonderful gift
So please copy paste this moment from the bottom of my heart
**I hope this gift brings you laughter, knowing
I've been sad, these past few days, drying up my final soup tears**

I will miss this part of what makes me ME -my love and lust for poetry.
I agree with many I should never surrender to the envy of demonic dust
Giving up the passion that completed a part of my soul for years
But, the reality of life, is the life's I give and given when I make love happen
In my heart I know it's time to give myself back to reality
SO AT THE END I WIN, I'm the one who ends up with an everlasting smile
I'll finally be free from this place, where most treated me unfair & unkind
Free, from the negativity of the few who hide behind a dishonest disguise?

Wait until you notice your soup bowl's going stale
You will miss me, and I will miss you
But, my enemy will miss me even more
Reminiscing the times we spent hogging up 70% of blogs,
Arguing and fighting over not agreeing with many thoughts.
But, it was never the differences of opinions, it was more like---
Let's slay the Destroyer, a name like that should never be on top
So please know I am sad, and this is not the way I want to go
I'm not leaving you because I want to
I'm leaving you because, the rumors are
"The soup is better without the sweetness of the poet destroyer."
The only big thing about me -was my heart not my ego
I never claimed to be the best;
You're the one who claimed I am good enough
You took me in and returned my love
In ways others could and would not accept.
And for you my loving poet friends, and fans
I will walk away with my dignity/integrity;
I can CARELESS IF I PLACE OR DON'T PLACE IN YOUR CONTEST
I guess I'm finally growing up
In becoming the bigger/better poet.

We Lost More Than a Dad

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost half of how we came to be
We lost we four girls first love
We lost our Best Friend

We lost more than just a Dad that day
Our Mom lost her Soul Mate, Her other half
Our children lost their Papaw
We lost our family’s foundation
We lost the glue that held us together

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost the Strongest man we ever knew
We lost the man we looked up too
We lost we four girls Teacher of many things

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We four girls lost our Hero
We lost some of our Light
We lost part of our Heart
We lost part of our Soul

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost some of our Courage
We lost some of our Strength
We lost some of our will to fight back
We lost some of our will to carry on
We four girls lost more than a Dad
We lost more than just a Dad that day

Bill

R.I.P. William Dale Eubanks
d. July 1, 2012, aged 68 yrs., Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee

Death came as no surprise
the first Sunday in July;
it claimed you, on a ridge in Tennessee,
with kin who took you in and waited with you
through the last hard days.
You kept what fears you had well hid,
did not betray with loud complaint
the fate you could not but know awaited.
A smile, a joke, a hug – exotic meals –
And genuine interest greeted all you met.
And you were, certainly, never boring
but well-traveled and smart
beyond the telling.
We’ll miss your wit, your bright demeanor,
and will remember all you freely gave ---
and what you took from us
with your passing.

Disturbed Child

That disturbed child
The teen girl with no friends,
and is rejected by her loved ones
She feels broken inside,
like theres no other choice
She takes the iron razor,
she puts it to her arm and hopes the pain will fade,
but in the end it only makes her feel worse
She does this to herself not because she is sad,
but because she doesn't think any one cares
She thinks
What if I put this razor to my throat,
and ended my life
Would they care then?
She feels like no one cares
What she doesn't realize is,
if she died a river of tears would come,
even faster then the blood would run from her
If she only knew life can be brighter
If she would only see,
that she is loved
That disturbed child,
We miss her
and theres no getting her back
What could we have done
Was there any changing her mind
Only God knows

The Empty Tissue Box

My heart was in such pain
I felt like I was going to go insane
I just don't know what to do
And my eyes full of tears that distort my view

I fell to my knees and felt the urge
My muscle tighten and pin needles struck me like a surge
My body was warm and with feelings so confused
My mind felt sadness had fused

I could not conquer my fears
I just sat down and fell into tears
When some close to you passes on
It felt like a warmth has gone

So I raised my hand towards a box that was empty with no tissue
I first was embarrass and had a little bit of issue
All my friends hugged me and said sorry for your loss
So now I cry in my bed and toss

Death Of A Beloved Friend

Death Of A Beloved Friend

O Friend, when thou hadst uttered thy brief tale
Our hearts grew still as flowers that watch the stars,
Through long windless nights.
  Yea, men shall hear;
Far sea whispering, and the feet of them
That walk the earth in mercy, though they be
The other side of the world; and to that end
Poets shall wander by in loneliness,
As thou hast wandered by. We know not yet
How weak our knowing, and how little availeth
The little that we know, for we have lost,
The deep heart to listen;
  Down the widening gap,
In unimaginable glory streams
The flood of light we share within our souls,
Revealing all the beauty that shall be
For them that will abide in its purity.

R.J. Lindley
1985

Note:
That long black curtain has fallen,
youthful skies hold no more joy;
Dreams we once heard callin'
are but false hope we now employ.
Time, that elusive and dark bandit,
speeds away on a mere whim;
splashing whale if we could but land it-
Never! That light is now fading and dim.

Too soon , blackness engulfs the light;
gone onto its mysterious early reward,
all that remains, cold lonely in the night,
living left behind, that is going to be hard.

I have got to go

For the piles of promises that were broken
And the avalanche of lies that were spoken

I have got to go, you know I've got to go

I have got to leave the lock of your arms
And escape from the spell of your charms

I have got to go, you know I've got to go

What we had was sweet while it lasted
But now it looks like our time was wasted

I have got to go, you know I've got to go

Laying Here

Laying here ...
On the grass
Its such a peaceful night
Layin here ...
As I slowly inhale, exhale
Among the diamonds in the sky
I soon begin to visualize
Your perfect face,
your perfect smile
My mind quickly begins to rewind
To the days when you and I
were more than once upon a time.

I have but one regret in life
I let insecurities dictate how I walked the line
Hand in hand with ignorance and pride
So many feelings I held inside
The love of my life, I self denied

If only I had told u a long time ago
Your name is written on my heart,
Your silhouette imprinted within my soul
Maybe u would have never closed your door
                  on me ....

              I cant get in.....

He changed the lock
And now she holds the key.

And here I am
Laying here ...
Wondering if she sees
You as I do now.

Moving On

I was sitting on a lonely bench
It was on a hill
Far away from all the cityscreams
And blinding citylights
It was a cloudless night
A soothing breeze came up
As I watched the moon rise slowly
A shimmering moment of
Eternal beauty

There were always less and less stars by her side
Each time I got to see her
The sky felt so empty
Where have they gone?
Maybe they left
Maybe they just moved on
Maybe it was time
Maybe they just moved on

As the moon looked at me
I felt uneasy
I wanted to explain
But before I could open my mouth
I noticed
She was just staring through me
Like I was nothing at all
I looked at her
What is all the beauty in the world
If you can’t hold it
Maybe it’s not meant for you to hold
Maybe it’s just meant for you to catch a glimpse
And start hoping
And start dreaming
Forever

I raised my head high
Watched the sky
Far above the moon
Maybe I should leave
Maybe I should move on
Maybe it was time
Maybe I should move on

ONE-SIDED LOVE

How the movement of light seems to trace my ardor lingering in whirls of flame; where glimmers of a cherished dream become this heart’s desire to journey with you along waves of endless moments. I cuddle hours waning through faded notes, for my affection always clings inside your breath...but trickles of rain sweep this sweet intent I cannot ever have; yet I memorize those fingers well, knowing my love is one-sided... O painful the ache of a moon blue releasing your quickened look as the train whistles of farewell while you hug me mildly... calling me 'dear friend.' ONYX DREAM

I dreamed a black; an onyx lake
before the sun’s first dawning rays
its surface marble smooth and makes
no sound without the warmth of day

I saw myself; a ghost it seemed
stripped naked on the grassy floor
beneath the waning moon’s cold beams
just staring at the other shore

From far away a whip-poor-will
called lonely, just a sleepy song
it tickled in the morning chill
and broke the water’s pull – so strong

to slip into that silent space
where never lived a false love’s face

There's Sadness - When You're Gone

There's Sadness - When You're Gone
My darling precious Mamacita before you go, before your last breath is drawn, I just want you to know how much I love you so. Please forgive everything this errant child of yours has done wrong, and all the times I disappointed and let you down. I can’t help holding on to you, my Rock of Gibraltar, my strength, my warrior and defender, my trustworthy confidante, even though your time has come and the Great Spirit is calling you home. Forgive my selfishness, my beautiful, brave one, for I do know you are tired, your mission here is done, and you seek eternal rest; but I don’t want to miss the sound of your melodious voice singing old Spanish love songs, your loving smile, and your wavy, snowy white hair reflecting the venerable sage that you are. What am I going to do, Mamacita, without your unconditional love and support which keep me afloat when life tries to pull me down? My hot tears overflow like a river swollen with sadness and grief, just knowing that I will soon be a motherless child alone, adrift at sea without you, my lifeline, my best friend, my hero. I wish you didn’t have to leave me, my darling precious Mamacita.

WHERE EVERY FOOTSTEP CRACKS

WHERE EVERY FOOTSTEP CRACKS

Walking on ice, where every footstep cracks
Frozen toes in socks that once were warm
Every snowflake on my frigid curls stack

I never meant to do anyone any harm
Every step I take, my disappearing feet
Frozen toes in socks that once were warm

I tried to speak, to see your face, to meet
Your eyes, with contempt still lingering in
Every step I take, my disappearing feet

If I will leave for good, will you please begin
Please understand, my love will not forget
Your eyes, with contempt still lingering in

So desperate my love, I wish we never met
I choose this freezing cold over frozen glance
Please understand, my love will not forget

If I sink deep, perform my final dance
Walking on ice, where every footstep cracks
I choose this freezing cold over frozen glance
Every snowflake on my frigid curls stack

Transient

Sonnet: Transient

Of all my almost-loves and far-too-soons,
Hers brought a heat most akin to summer’s sun.
I ill-assumed, one night in joyful June,
A pair so young may ever-laugh in unison.
That season we peeled the rind of unripe love,
No heed paid the holocaust by autumn,
Till it was warmth we lay in bed bereft of,
When roses dead had warned our winter’d come.
Such loves birth as flood then burn to vapor,
From eyes a pain downpours, torrential rain;
Hence I plan to leave next summer’s savior,
Before lips aflame douse to kiss in vain.
She’ll think me true and bare me her nude heart,
As I don armor then from her depart.

Don't Cry

Please don't cry over my casket
For I am not there
Please don't cry at my grave
My soul has been set free
I know it's hard not to cry
I've been down that road one to many times

I have no more pain
I have no more sickness
And I would not change a thing
As I walk threw the gates of Heaven
Mom Dad our brothers and sisters
Will welcome me with open arms
Here I am free of that pain

Don't blame yourself
It was my time to go home
This is where I'm supposed to be
Don't dwell on things which you can not change
I will always be in your heart

I will always be watching over you
When that day comes for you to come home
I will be there to welcome you
With open arms
And walk you through the gates of Heaven
You will be greeted by our family & friends
Who came home before you
Until that day I will be watching over you

Put a bullet in my brain

Put a bullet in my brain
as the rain sweeps her out of my arms
and places her into another's.
Put a bullet in my brain
for I don't want to see love slip away
please end my suffering,
for I don't want to dare see her in the arms of another man.

I fear the tear that slips away from my soul
and touches the ground with a splash
as she is washed away by the lashed memories of the rain,
please, someone put a bullet in my brain.

I can't bear to see her with another man
laying in his arms
as he charishes her beauty
just like I did to her.
As she smiles and laughs at his jokes
my heart would not bare the sorrow and pain
that would tare my heart apart into pieces of tainted love.
Please tell the rain to stop,
as the pain grows when rain comes down,
please someone end my suffering,
put a bullet in my brain
and stop the rain
that washes away every memory of her.

Stop saying you miss me
and just kiss me
for I can't take the pain
of the rain that takes you away.
Kiss me and stop saying you miss me
for those are useless words to me.
Love is where it's at, so show me.
Don't go with him, he'll treat you wrong.
Love and laugh with me till the break of dawn
as we yawn the long night away.

Kiss me and don't say you miss me.
For if you go away from me,
I couldn't bare to take a tear and waste it away.
Tears, sweet tears crying for you,
doesn't that mean anything to you?
I ask you, stop the rain,
stop the pain and put that bullet in my brain.

Let the red blood flow from my temples.
Let the plow dig my grave,
for I can't bare to see you with another
in his arms, him kissing you, where I kissed you.
I can't take it, I have to make it,
make that pain go away.
Prayer didn't help, God turned a blind eye
when I came up and said why!
Put that bullet in my dome
and when I lay in the coffin, looking at the roof of the church
you come and kiss me, and then you can really say
that you'll miss me.

My Buddy

I miss you already, Buddy.
You’ve been the apple of my eye.
When I think of life without you,
It makes me cry. It makes me cry.

Oh, so many moments we've shared together,
From romping mischief and tummy rubs to those pesky fleas;
And nothing’s better than my puppy’s kiss;
You always try your very best to please.

You always curl up with me on the bed.
You always meet me at the door.
You run and jump and bark with such excitement.
Yes, Buddy, I know you couldn’t love me more.

And when all others fail me, Buddy,
My best friend is always there.
Through my very worst of times,
Your eyes and your attention said, “I care”.

Five to seven years for every one of mine
Is so little time... it’s hardly fair.
It must be God’s way of saying,
“Love them now… and well.
There’s precious little time to spare”.

But, if I should go before you, Buddy,
Love your new master without reserve;
And they will love you as you love them.
It’s what a great pup like you deserves.

I miss you already, Buddy.
You’ve been the apple of my eye.

Ashokan Farewell

The haunting strains of "Ashokan Farewell" keep racing thro' my brain.
'Tis a fitting requiem for those who bore the agonizing pain,
Of bidding a sad farewell at many a humble cabin door,
As young men were called to serve in the American Civil War.

Its poignant theme wafts as a gentle zephyr o'er the countless graves,
Of gallant men who faced Death's Scythe in unfaltering waves.
Men who wore either blue or gray and unselfishly gave their all,
Lie sleeping 'neath hallowed soil awaiting Gabriel's triumphant call.

Each time I hear those mournful chords played on the violin,
Tho' 'tis decades later, I feel melancholy for grieving next-of-kin,
And for their heroes left upon the field of strife, lonely, bereft, forlorn;
"Ashokan Farewell" is a sad lament for those who were left behind to mourn.

Every time I hear that tune, I'm reminded and left to wonder,
Why brothers tore this nation, this beacon of hope, asunder.
Thanks to one man's vision and unshakeable resolve,
A united and stronger nation would once again evolve.

Antietam, Bull Run, Manassas, Spotsylvania, Gettysburg,
Fort Sumpter, Shiloh and the formidable bluffs of Vicksburg;
O'er these now peaceful battlegrounds, once ravaged by shot and shell,
At eventide can be faintly heard, the solemn dirge of "Ashokan Farewell."

SO blind

All this time I have always had my doubts,
Not the person led to believe is what I found out.
To be deceived and lied to for oh so long,
Down deep I knew there was something wrong.
Head over heels I had fallen in love ,
Always thought you were sent from above.
How the knife is twisted into my side ,
So much pain I can do nothing but cry.
These memories of what I thought was real,
I'm confused and I don't how how to feel.
Is this really possible that I did not know,
Through all this time it never showed.
Such an evil thing to do to a man ,
Especially the lies which he could not stand.
How cruel and cold your heart must be ,
To carry on as you did never letting me see.
Hard to accept all those moments so dear ,
Realizing they are now my greatest fears .
What was to be Joy and Happiness,
Replaced by the feelings of a loneliness.
Never did I imagine this happening to me ,
Thinking that you and I were meant to be .
It's a very hard thing for a man to accept ,
When he finds out that he's been tricked.
Was it the money or the control you had ,
Maybe because you are really just that bad.
Some day soon for this you will have to pay ,
For the sins against me and your evil ways.
Goodbye to you who ever you are ,
For in this heart you have left brutally scarred.
Tac.

Tell Me

I'm lost hurt and angry
Why did you take his life
I want, No I need to know
Tell me, Tell me why
I deserve to know

Haven't you done enough to him
What'd he ever do to you
He suffered his whole life
Suffered more than anyone deserved
Tell me, Tell me why you did it
I have a right to know

Why'd you let him born to them
Born to worthless parents
Parents who didn't care
They threw him away like garbage
Pawned him off on someone else
Tell me, Tell me why
Explain how you could do that

You gave him Polio
You let others treat him like disease
You took away the full use of his legs
You warped his hand and foot
Tell me, Explain to me why
I deserve to know

You let others think he was crazy
You let it go on for over year
You didn't stop it, Why
Tell me, Give me your reason
Answer me God, Help me to understand

You go and make matters worse
You gave him Cancer
You didn't give him a chance to fight back
You just jerked him away from us
Tell me, Tell me how
How you could be so cruel

How can others not question you
When others do it, It's murder
But when it's by your hand
It's your will, Their fate
Tell me, What makes you so different
Your no better than the demons knocking at the door

You heard me beg and plead
You know I'm not afraid to die
I was willing to carry it all for him
I was willing to take my Daddy's place
You didn't even let me say Goodbye
Tell me, Tell me why I couldn't take his place
Answer me God, you owe me that much

An Ode To My Beloved

I just wanted to let you know
That I have this love for you...
Although I'm not fast to show
For you, there's nothing I wouldn't do
And I can't control this love
No matter what I try to do...

While I know our lives are separating
Which has got me pretty blue
I just want you to know
How much I love you...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

Oh how I still see you every night in my mind
You're the best girl I feel I'll ever find
And when my eyes would fall upon your smile
My heart would be put on trial
And so if nothing else, I want to let you know
That I'll always love you, that my hearts beat
For you, won't ever slow...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

So I wish you happiness beyond compare
And sorry for the times I couldn't help but stare
Caring, passionate, smart, and loving
From my heart, to you, I'll never be shoving

You will always be in my heart
No matter where we go, how far we drift apart...

Goodbye My Love...

Let Him Go

This poem I wrote. I call it " Let Him Go "

Sweetheart don't cry
Don't let him make you feel like your nothing
You do have family even though we are not close by
I know your heart is crushing
Don't harp on the past
Don't let him play with your head
You need to get over him fast
His feelings for you are dead
Over 2 years and you still don't have a ring
Your not the one he calls his wifey to be no more
Take a seat and listen up girl here is the thing
He's playing with your feelings and using you like a two dollar whore
I know you were smart once and can be again
He has you so brain washed it's not funny
I know hearing all this is a strain
Think of the example your setting for you little ones honey
Hold your head high and walk away from that loser mama's boy
Show him that your the one that is too good for his sorry ass
Hell he's such a mama's boy you can find better pleasure in a toy
Your related to me so come on show your sass
Let go of the past and look to a new future
Let go of the pain and the control freak
Say bye bye Looser
It will get easier one step at a time week by week......

Eternity

Eternity

Many times, I saw my spirit.
Many times, I felt my soul.
In life, I lived courageous.
Now it is time for me to journey home.

If you cry, that is fine.
If you laugh, that is better than a cry.
Rejoice in my life and shout praise.

For I am
Therefore, I shall be
In peace, I leave this world.
To my love ones, I am with the Lord.

Sure happy to have lived
Not sad that my time has come
The benevolence of the spiritual realm is a breeze from a waterfall.

The Lord is my keeper.
He called me home.
No more sadness let us all rejoice.

Ms. Carrie Mae Sexton is now reunited with Jehovah God Lord. A woman of statue...
A woman of worth... All that knew her will truly miss her.

Never a life lost but one done with the world and because she walked a virtuous path, her life is shown. The Lord knows best and we must know the same. Our mother sojourns and in peace, she lays.
