Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

Every Second We're Away

Every second we're away,
We grow stronger everyday
Until that day will finally come
When we know it's okay
And we will rest in each other's arms
In peace from God above,
No longer missing one another
Because we're together;
Built forever in each other's love.

Notes on Sister Aimee

Ah the cake before the icing!!!!!!

Aimee Semple McPherson (October 9, 1890 – September 27, 1944), also known as Sister Aimee, was a Canadian born in Salford, Ontario. She was a Los Angeles–based evangelist and media celebrity in the 1920s and 1930s.She founded the Foursquare Church. McPherson has been noted as a pioneer in the use of modern media, especially radio, and was the second woman to be granted a broadcast license. She used radio to draw on the growing appeal of popular entertainment in North America and incorporated other forms into her weekly sermons at Angelus Temple.

In her time she was the most publicized Christian evangelist, surpassing Billy Sunday and her other predecessors. She conducted public faith-healing demonstrations before large crowds, allegedly healing tens of thousands of people. News coverage sensationalized misfortunes with family and church members; particularly inflaming accusations she had fabricated her reported kidnapping, turning it into a national spectacle. McPherson's preaching style, extensive charity work and ecumenical contributions were a major influence in revitalization of American Evangelical Christianity in the 20th century.

Verse 1 Salford is the town in which she was born

Verse 2 As a teenager she would question visiting preachers about the existence of God

Verse 3 As a child she would often play “salvation army”

Verse 4 She was known to understand men speaking in tongues even they did not know
She married a man Semple, thus the play on words, simple, Semple, they traveled the world preaching, where he does of malaria in Hong Kong

Verse 5 Her husband Semple left her with child, whom she named “Star”

Verse 6 She remarried and tried to be a good wife, however her calling was to preach, during this time she was known to be obsessive about cleaning, however her children say that she was also a very loving mother, as a housewife as well as when she went back to preaching.

Verse 7 In Los Angles she formed the the “Temple of Angelus”

Verse 8 Is about her disappearance from Venice Beach in California, and re emerging in a town in Mexico

Verse 9 The ultimate Kiss was a famous song by a Mexican group in the 1960’s from the town where she re-appeared “ Aqua Prietas” Brown Water in English. Echos, refers to Echo Park a place in Los Angles where she formed her church.

Verse 10 sensuous sermonizer is a quote by Cole Porter describing Aimee. She was known for feeding the poor during the depression, something the government was failing to do, as well s healing the sick, and although not always successful, there are some famous accounts of her success. She was known for using theater, music and radio to bring the world of god to the people, thus bring ancient ways to modern times, and many an Evangelist would copy her style, both the sincere and the false.

Verse 11 She was a known insomniac who could not sleep, and died of an over dose of sedatives. “a splendid score” refers to her ability to put on Broadway type shows to deliver her message, people would line up for blocks to see her productions.

A Very Inviting Temptation

A Very Inviting Temptation! I remember of a particular situation. I was offered a very "inviting" temptation. The situation I was in... I didn't belong! And lost any sense of "right and wrong." At first... I felt no guilt or shame. And brought embarrassment to my family's name. I tried to explain this to my wife and kids. I heard; "Dad... please... no more fibs!" The Godly principles were "tossed to the side," As the sin inside caused arrogance and pride. Soon, all in my life that truly mattered... Was gone! My life was empty and shattered! I was sorry for all of the problems I caused! This time... I took a moment to pause. I cried to God to rescue me from my sin. I confessed! Would God help me once again? I read in the Bible of Jesus’ grace and love! This time the help I needed had to come from above! I asked him for a fresh and brand new start. He removed the stain from a broken heart. He restored to me the joy I once had. I'm so blessed! Jesus has made me glad! Jesus is the reason I'm here today! I LOVE HIM more than words can say! By Jim Pemberton

Thanks For My Wonderful Wife

I remember the first time I
 and my wife first met.
The beauty in her... I'll never forget!

I won't forget the day
and the place.
I'll never forget the look
 on her face.

The feeling I had was
 hard to describe.
I knew she was going to be my bride!

I'm thankful to Jesus for
bringing us together.
Binding us as one...
Both now and forever!

Twenty years have passed...
 since our wedding day.
She's still my beautiful wife!
I'm proud to say!

Thanks be to God,
 for making us one.
I pray for his blessings upon
 our daughters and sons.

May God be the unifying
love in all that we do.
May we never forget the meaning of...
 "I love YOU!"

Each day I look at her...
what do I see?
This wonderful wife God
 has brought to me!

I'm thankful and honored
to have her as my wife.
She's been such a blessing...
A great part of my life!

The Empty Rib Slot

Dedicated to all of the guys who helped me to make the checklist - thanks!

The Empty Rib Slot I think I might have A perfect checklist Highlights from men Gathered now missed Yes special highlights Each man carried some Now added to my checklist For a guy having it all in one This could be the key to find The man I’m dreaming of Not with bits and pieces One filled full of love A man made for me No it would be not I should fit perfectly Into an empty rib slot Let me share this list With every one of you Then decide for yourself If it could possibly be true My first check comes from This guy with dreamy eyes He deeply touched my soul Way more than ever realized He even had a special smile That made you want to grin No matter if life was down He encouraged me to win There was the big hugger With squeezes oh so tight He lifted me off the floor Like if I was taking flight He never did grow tired Of giving me those hugs I never had to ask for them He always did it out of love Then there was the dancer He stayed light on his feet He loved dancing with me Carrying rhythm and a beat Now of course on this list There certainly has to be That best friend I count on Who can also count on me I am even going to count The good points of quality Generated from my brothers And even from my daddy From them they all carry A very good temperament Always being so easy going Not looking for an argument When I am nestled in that slot With a perfect feel of passion All of his glory will then shine As it eludes from my reflection The most important one of all He who shares a spiritual side Being spiritually open with me Not allowing his beliefs to hide I know how this all may sound Like a crazy thing that I’ve got I want the man I fit snuggly with When I match his empty rib slot Florence McMillian (Flo)

In the Name of Love

If our love were ever to become a gamble between the gods, And the Lord and the Devil both desired to see us flawed, I would make my plans for deicide and, as a mortal, face the odds. First I would build you a castle and hide you far away, So no god could find you or take you as his prey. They would have to go through a man if they wanted to get their way. Then I would fashion a sword of the most wonderful elements. Sharper than Satan’s wit and greater than God’s blessedness, I would wield it into battle and redefine the Exodus. Through the gates of Heaven and across the plains of Hell, I would meet the gods wherever to confront them where they dwelled. Yea, a mortal man I may be, their homes would be expelled. And if I should fail in my quest for our love, The gods would at least regret their gamble thereof, And I alone would stand as the martyr who set you above.

Instruments of Love

I recite your name in the whispers of the wind
for bonded to my heart are you until the end
I lifted the chalice drank deeply of its wine
I felt of its effects the fullness of divine

Like the chords of piano and dulcimers delight
your melodies do waft through every thought at night
a master plays the chords a violin with strings
plays my heart like a harp whose music on it rings

Your fingers play me like the stroke of piano keys
every touch I enjoy your heart it aims to please
you are a symphony whose chords have touched my heart
a birth cries transmission of transformation every part

Songs like an aria may yet I learn to sing
whose vocals resonate the inmost of my being
You left no line untouched no strand is mine alone
made sure you did I knew would make you me your own
Somewhere I lost myself I gave it all to you
things I don't understand reasons appear askew
I inhale you my breathe to deepest parts within
need you to embrace me as close as your own skin

We retire together speak 'neath the baleful skies
of every trial in life and those who live in lies
greet me in the morning curl around me at night
sing to me of love songs of futures very bright
The wedding of my heart tears away my mind
I want to forever hold you for all of time
Are not your words a bath that removes the worlds dirt
a balm of medicine to heal the deepest hurt

Its surpassing sweetness a palate of good taste
love so intoxicating no drop will go to waste
the adversary's here and tramples the flowers
but you oh my beloved too freely roam my hours

My life is but a breath an instrument of song
music tells the stories of lives and right and wrong
The scent of yesterdays the pathways of the past
forward now the future into the everlast

Proverbs 16
24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

The Lines of Aging

The lines you see draw a picture
That the Artist alone creates
Drawn is ageless beauty
From the folds upon your face.

For all that you have granted
To the most and least of sake
Are marks from Angel's Kisses
And the Artist is God's Grace.

True Love Can't Be Made, Bought or Traded

Many call making love, from a physical reaction. As many try to find a loving satisfaction! True love can’t be bought, paid, or traded This is something that shouldn’t be debated! True love is from God, and freely given! His love can change the way you’re livin’! Only God’s love can cleanse the heart from sin! And bring true satisfaction deep within! If it’s “cheap love,” you seek… You can find it! But you’ll end up empty, hurt and blinded! If it’s true love you want. Look no more! Jesus is here... Knocking at your heart’s door! Won’t you let him in? And let his love touch you? He wants to do this. Because he really loves you! He loves you so much, he bled and died! In him, you can be made whole and sanctified! Won’t you accept the love he freely gives? It will bless you each day that you live! By Jim Pemberton

Sunday Sermon

She's my sermon on Sunday
My fun day on Monday
A ribbon in the sky

we tie for Tuesday
Wednsday, I don't need to say
She's like Shakira
and loves the way hips

speak truth and sway

drunk off that 100 proof.
At it again Thursday
Ladies night, turnt up

before the weekend begins.
Friday we thank God,
another week added,
rolling a week's worth of events
on Saturday, so come Sunday
the church can say amen.

Day in and day out,

she's what I'm talking about.

I Samson Josephat Manyala,
The author of
"Salome The Beautiful Princess",
With a subtitle
"A dedication To The US Armed Forces",
An anthology live online today,
Kindle Edition,
With any among my songs
So genius written
And generously offered to U.S.A,
In that online book,
After seven years of determination
And sacrifice,
To make it live online
And, up to date.
I declare a defeat
And regret!

I declare,
The sufferings and pains
You brethren endure
When escaping the war ravaged lands,
Tattered houses
With streets littered with blood
And full of a strong smell and blasts,
Hoping for
"America a cool shade",
As I wrongly mentioned
In that my online book,
And suggested to
All suffering human beings
As a place where
"The world walk in smiling".
I hereby denounce myself,
The forty-fifth
White house policy
Which has proved me a liar!
Shame on my pen!

I declare to any
Who had previously downloaded
Or Wish to download it today,
Tomorrow or days after,
I Samson Josephat Manyala
By this poem,
Permits you
To re-print the subtitle
Of your personal downloaded copy
From "A Dedication To The US Armed Forces"
To "Dark Days For A Shamed Pen"

Today's policy of America
On the crying suffering mankind
Reminds me of
My late girl friend,
A Muslim and a refugee
From Congo D.R.C. Back 1994,
And whom I loved like it can never repeat!
"To Halima Omary I write:
I can now see the fear
Which had befallen you on your run
As a female,
A teenager by then,
A Muslim
And a refugee from D.R.C!
My beloved,
Our sons Omary and Selemani
Are thriving well.
They are the today's models
Of Christians
Holding Islamic names in my village chapel.
I have kept the names for your honor.
I found your Quran
To be a testimony of Jesus the Christ!
And along my bible
I am uplifted highly spiritually.
Rest in peace my love!
When the trumpets blown
We shall rejoin again.

Shame on my pen once again
For it took me too long a time
To see the danger
Around the gay minority
And admit that
Some are born so!
For sure,
I only came to know this
After witnessing some single males
Who have direct allergy to females
And resort to live lonely
And those cried that
They found themselves so!
For sure,
These persons
Should not shed blood
In front of our eyes.
Much prayers are needed
And security protection
To give them chance of accepting
As a savior who changes lives.

2 - Messenger from the Dead

There is no power in death,
great enough to stop youth.
From what must be done,
souls taken one by one.

If God should stand in the way,
clear the path you will go away.
Should I contend with this power,
no choice it is the devils hour.

When the wicked rule in time,
deception reigning of crime.
There will be a stand instead,
where I gather the vengeful dead.

Amongst in Hell that we cower,
our vengeance will grow louder.
Strong enough in legions,
numbers increasing regions.

Then the wicked will fear,
what is about to come near.
No where near closer to home,
inside Hell's nightmarish tomb.

Sent You My Way

Your smile is beautiful and shines so bright
It can light up the darkest cold winter's night

Your heart is pure as gold like the sun
spending quality time with you has been so much fun

Life is a journey with it's ups and downs
but when I'm around you it's impossible to frown

You bring me up and calm my weary mind
This was something I was unsure I'd ever find

My heart is getting lighter each and everyday
You've helped me to toss my pain and burdens away

Thank you is all there is really left to say
I'm overjoyed God sent you my way!

I’ve looked for love for many years
I’ve wondered where love’s been
I’ve longed for love to find me
I’ve wondered if and when

Love must have took a wrong turn
Love must have lost its way
Love seemed it wasn’t coming
My heart grew fainter by the day

There were times I thought love came
But it wasn’t really true
It was the shadow of the sun
It didn’t compare to You

You’ve opened my eyes to see now
The most radiant of light
A love to shame the fairy tales
A King more valiant than any knight

And all that time I looked for love
I needed only look within
Love was with me every moment
Love is found in Him

When He brings my earthly love
He will be strong and true
And he will know that God is love
And he will love me too

Learning from a sot

Learning from a sot ©
Wikus Hattingh

No, I am not the local preacher,
Nor am I the children's teacher
For sure I am but a sot
But from me, you can learn a lot

When the moment came to choose
I thought the answer is in booze
Had I had a second chance
At least that could bring advance

Point your finger if you please
Look at me with eyes that freeze
Just make sure when you must choose
Going wrong will make you loose

Give me money for more wine
Let me forget this life of mine
But learn from me before you tread
Full of thorns for sure, life's bed.

Each and Every Day

At first he only was a friend, And then loved him much in the end; To many I
might have been hilarious, But to others my position was precarious.

It is amazing how people interpret things, And sympathy and much emotion it
brings; Some were pleasing while others produced heartache; Back to heaven
one day my soul God will take.

Time and several things are so fleeting; Now that both God and I are meeting;
What I had done was only simple and plain; I got wet while standing in the rain.
Feel sorry for those I left behind, Now that I have my peace of mind; There still
is much more to say, And I will pray for them each and everyday.

Please Build My Mansion Oh Lord

Please build, my mansion Oh Lord
Though I may not deserve, what You hold in store
I've tried, and I've failed, even had sin prevail
Please build, my mansion Oh Lord

Please build my mansion Oh Lord
May it await me, as I cross, onto Your golden shore
May it be, by the gates, so for her, I can wait
Please build my mansion Oh Lord

Please let her sadness subside
I'm just a man, and not worth, the tears that she's cried
She may be lonely, but she'll see, she can get over me
Lord please let, her sadness subside

Please let, her know that, I love her
Let her know that, she's all that and more
In Heaven I'll wait, please place my mansion, near the gate
So she knows, that I waited for her

Please let eternity bring
Consolation to all, of our hopes and dreams
May my windows please face, the line at the gates
So when she arrives, not a minute we'll waste

I don't need, the biggest of mansions
Or deserve one, that's fit for a king
I just need a small place, so for my queen, I can wait
Please build my mansion, Oh Lord

Oh please build my mansion Oh Lord.....
