The Wedding Ring

I've heard the music a smile secretly sings
And the sudden thunder a teardrop brings
No beginning or ending round a golden wedding ring
Together love and time keep on turning

It takes but one breath to keep on living
When your dreams and sorrows become the same thing
Empty eyes open there for the forgiving
Then memories invade, night becomes morning

Like the ring we wear, no beginning or end
We search to see where this journey shall send
Apart we are halfed neither night or day
Where nothing can grow, shall it be that way?

Magic Words

No truer words of love are ever spoken
No better way to confess a love so true
No greater way to express a love eternal
Than to say those words, so bonding two…

I Do

For written in the stars, a love so destined
For heaven holds the hearts as one, combined
Born separate, but now joined in love eternal
As the power of two words, so come to mind…

I do

The One

The One by Rick Rucker When you have found “The One,” That person that outshines the Sun, Then you will understand the fuss, Your heart convinced with the first buss! Your lack of focus is normal, don't worry, Love will guide your heart, don't hurry, True Love is the force that cures, Your heart of all the past sutures! True Love has the power to change, Your mind, to rearrange Your whole life, To take a husband, or a wife. If all your life, you've lived alone, Talking to suitors on the phone, It's so nice to sit together, Without the phone cord acting as a tether. Something as simple as holding hands, Takes on new meaning with wedding bands. A wedding changes everything, Makes you feel a Queen, or King! That this person wants to spend Their life with you, 'til the end. What might have started out with lust, Has ended with a promise: 'til dust! Marriage won't be only Wedded Bliss, But if each day starts and ends with a kiss, Doing this, and other things, Will mean you don't have to pawn your rings! If you don't marry, out of fear Angel's bells you'll never hear. That gentle tinkling far away, The one that makes you want to stay. Imagine your surprise, When you look into your lover's eyes, Your Love, your spouse, The one that shares with you a house. Being in Love, after decades still, Each one feeling marriage is a thrill How long can True Love last? I'll tell you when a century's passed!

In French Canada no legend is more tragic than that of Celine,
A beautiful Quebec maiden who, long ago, fell in love with Alain.
He came galloping by on his white horse, a handsome young marine -
They wanted marriage and happily prepared their wedding plan.

They would go to the church in a horse-drawn carriage
They would buy the tidal watermill near their house by the river
Next to Montmorency Falls : a small whitewashed cottage
With garden and daisy flowers; and he would become the miller.

But one day Francois was called to military action in a war terrible-
Every evening, pallid and wan, she searched by the river for her lover in vain.
Her beloved lost his life in battle, and Celine's bridal grief was inconsolable.
“Alain,” she called, convinced in her heart that they would meet again.

After a year Celine could stand her painful loss no more - the searching, the calls.
One ashen moonlit night, in her immaculate pearl-blossom wedding gown
She ran to the river, climbed onto the white horses of the misty Montmorency Falls.
And disappeared into mystery, as the swirling ivory-silver waves swept down.

Calling his name, she slipped into the foamflowers. Her snowy bride’s dress
Was transformed into the falls’ watery cascade, and her long wedding-veil floated away
And became a smaller waterfall nearby, as she swooned in the mist’s caress,
Listening to the soft loving words she heard Alain say.

On moonlit evenings the maiden in white is still seen through the misty cloud
Of shimmering water cascading like daisy petals off the falls in their course:
They say that his name can be heard in the surf and spume of the torrent loud
“Alain, my life-love, wait for me on your white horse. . . . .”

This is a well-known legend about the tragic love story of the White Lady of Montmorency
Falls. The waterfalls ( Les Chutes de Montmorency) are located between Quebec City and Ile
d'Orleans, on the St. Lawrence River. These spectacular foamy falls are well worth a
visit. Their height is 50% greater than Niagara; and the nearby ancient city of Quebec is
unique in North America.

The dancing pardners, dressed in dungarees,
With checkered shirts, and Stetsons, boots and spurs,
Are at a wedding. Joy the bride now asks
The band to play a tune that she prefers.
The fiddle music made ’em tap their toes,
But what she wants just brings the place to life:
The hoe down wedding is the place to be -
And Billy-Bob’s so glad that Joy’s his wife.

I shake my head and smile at what I see
And hear the whoops and cries, as couples leap;
The fiddlers play so fast I can’t resist
But soon become a laughing, sweating heap.

I step upon my pardner's boot clad toes,
And pull her down when I fall to the floor.
I laugh so hard I cannot get my breath,
But she is angry, branding me a bore.

Some stop their dancing just to help me up
And wait there as I stumble to a chair.
The newlyweds wrapped in each other's arms
Dance on as though the rest of us aren't there.

This is their day, hope I haven't spoiled it
Even a little bit, that would be sad.
Most of the guests are crowding to dance floor,
But as for me, I'll rest here for a tad.

Before too long, I have to shout, “Yee-haa!”
I clap my hands and then I stamp my feet.
The youngsters feign fatigue and clear the floor
And, giggling, watch me leap up from my seat...

The Earl of Sandwich

Please, sir, some meat and bread
I've not had a morsel for a week
It would stop this terrible hunger
My prospects now are terribly bleak

It's said the Earl is tender hearted
And oh so bloody awful rich
If I could have a taste of his
I'd call the thing a Sandwich

I hate to just come a beggin'
But I'm so hungry I am seeing red
Won't you ask the Earl again
Please, sir, some meat and bread.......

For Joe's Sandwich contest...lol

Flurries sway on brocade of her pinkish gown
It’s Christmas night, breath rising from fresh lips,
A graceful face looks on as tinsels surround
Bouquet of orchids clutched by fingertips.

She paces a walk down through a chapel aisle,
Rhapsody of carols hums of new life
While he, entranced by rare sight parts a smile
Exchanging oaths so warm, man to bride-wife.

The hallway rouses with cheer and merriment
December groom takes spouse for glides of waltz
And best man toasts, “Jane, don’t nag for the rent ;
Sean, always laugh at her old jokes with applause.”

After chimes for kisses ring, her back turns
Unfurling bouquet of orchids, mid- air
A catch huddled by one whose fate confirms
Same magic of a wedded bliss; love’s flair!

The Wedding Dress

The ruche curtains flapping in an evening breeze, stirring up the sultry air – refreshing: a ruse. Jacquard woven virginal white material drapes; wedding dress of yore, ingeniously put to use.

I Do or Do I

We went to a Chinese restaurant, but couldn’t get a seat
The waiter found us a table, and said we were in for a treat.
A wedding party was booked, he said, we would join them
We decided to say yes, sat down and waited and then…

The waiters rushed out, the bride arrived, resplendent in a gown of white
A creation that was gorgeous, her tattooed shoulders caught the light
No groom was there by her side, just a pageboy and three bridesmaids
The page a little boy of five suddenly on his way he got waylaid…

A tank of fish by the door, amused the bored little boy
Especially when he threw his car in, it was his ‘must behave toy.’
The best man arrived; he saw the bride, he whispered in her studded ear
She banged the table with her fist, there was no doubt we all could hear.,,

"The ‘bast*** I am sick of him, and you are the one to blame
You should have stopped him getting drunk, god why did I take his name?
Get the kids off the floor, get that car out of the tank of fish?
When their father gets here, get them to bring the Chop Suey wedding dish…"

The groom arrived looking abashed, his tie slung over his shoulder
“Get these bloody kids controlled or they’ll not get very much older.”
The bride jumped up and raised her dress, not only her garter did we see
She raised her dainty black jack boot, and kicked him in the knee…

"They are your bloody kids you know, and if you don’t control them soon
I’m telling you right now- we are not going on our honeymoon."
By this time all of us began to thank, the waiters for finding us a seat
They had not been wrong when they told us, we were in for a wonderful treat...

I Thee Wed

Bouquet bride on a smitten horse,
Chocolate doubts and pastel thoughts.
Twister of love wails and hums,
Something wedding this way comes.

Envy ripples from jade reflections,
Last call for last chance objections.
Silenced by their kindred vows,
A shield of trust subdues the crowd.

Safe in a sleek four-wheeled cocoon,
Speedy whoosh travel and floral scent swoon.
Observing with steady, wanting eyes,
Soft, supple breasts and baby-white thighs.

Husband squared and maleness pumping,
Tender beastie rhythm thumping.
Chosen master of my flowing, blooming heart,
Future father giver with a fluid mix to start.

On that night of seven-course passion,
Wanting him more than you can fashion.
Holding her after you explode with release,
On that bed of wedding grease.

Oh, what a marriage we will be,
Running like twins through a mystery.
Memories gaining, curious, diverse,
From a twisted pair of hearts in verse.

Bouquet bride on a smitten horse,
Chocolate doubts and pastel thoughts.
Twister of love wails and hums,
Something wedding this way comes.

Love You Forever

Can’t forget that day
We took 7 steps together
Seems like yesterday
Its 7 years, we are together

Can hear the sound of heartbeats
I felt for you that day
Can you hear the sound of my beats?
It remains the same this day

You are my sweetheart
You are like my mother
I love you out of choice
With you, I have no bother

You hold a special place in my life
Words cannot say my love O’ Dear
Seven more births by grace of God
Our love shall last forever

5-11-2010 is my 7th Wedding Day
This poem is to my love, my sweetheart

Something Like You

Something like a love song
Crossed my mind,
Sang to my soul,
Made my heart fly.

Something like a daydream
Drove me wild
Had me on cloud nine
Free like a child.

Something like a miracle
Hit me hard
Had me jumping and skipping.
I was touching the stars.

Something like a love story
Took my by surprise
Feeling like I won the lotto
Gave me butterflies.

Something like a love song
Played softly to my heart beat
Its all your fault
And I'm swept off my feet.

I never felt a part of things,
Never felt like I belonged,
Never felt like I was wanted,
And I always really longed,

To feel like someone wanted me,
To feel like I fit in,
To be included in the things,
With family and friends.

For reasons that I couldn't know,
I always got pushed back;
Kept quiet and out of their way,
As though somehow I lacked,

Some social graces that perchance,
Might cause some consternation,
If I should come into the room,
And spoil their celibration.

I could have some food, some cake,
Then get out of the way.
Don't mingle with the guests at all,
Sit down if you will stay.

My sister's wedding hurt the most,
That's when I really saw,
I was like a well known guest,
Not part of things at all.

They did not even want me,
In the picture with them all.
I was told to stand aside,
And wait till I was called.

Not part of the wedding party,
I was not allowed,
To be photographed along with them,
In case it might becloud,

My sister's perfect moment,
Immortalized in time,
And I did not fit in with them,
There wasn't room in line;

And so it's been most of my life,
Rejected most by those,
Who should be closest to me,
Even the mate I chose;

So it's no wonder that I built,
A wall for my protection.
When I reached out I got pushed back,
I'm tired of such rejection.

Daddy's Elite

Sun run red across the sky
As the golden ore fadeth in the twilight
The earth was clothed in a cloak of dye
As bright stars ushered in the limelight

The tress then chants a song and thus pray
They swayed their heads gently and whispered
When the morning chased the night away
Their voices whispered and heralded

“Daddy’s precious Cinderella
More fairer than Gabriella
Bring in His precious Elite
Draped in cloth none compete

The Elite is Daddy’s only delight
She is among many her favorite fruit
Alive with color and full of light
Prepared as a bride in a frock cute

Daddy in the morning issues an invitation
To His Elite and gracious bride
“Yea! Thou art the bridegroom’s adoration
His Glory, complement and pride

So worthy my Son to be thy bridegroom
Make haste my Elite, the groom is come already
Bring in my Elite into the groom’s refined room
Love the groom and be thou steady”.

I Wonder if She Dreams With Her Wedding Ring On

Our marriage is now over twenty years long
The friendship remains but the passion seems gone
I watch her sleeping at nights; sometimes she'll gyrate and moan
I wonder if she dreams with her wedding ring on

Is she making love to me or some mystery man
Does she dream of the past or one of our friends
When she's awake all I get is the "I've got a headache now" song
I wonder if she dreams with her wedding ring on

As for me I am still very active below
But my hands, of lately, are the only lovers I know
I can tell by her dreaming the desire is not completely gone
I wonder if she dreams with her wedding ring on

Perhaps it's not her and it really is me
Perhaps I don't satisfy her quite completely
I watch her gyrate for over a half hour long
I wonder if she dreams with her wedding ring on

Should I wake her and take her in this erotic state
It dejects me when she rejects me; it might be a mistake
So I watch, not moving and not playing along
And, I wonder if she dreams with her wedding ring on

So Long

We said goodbye two years ago today -
I'll never forget the way I felt that day.
I couldn't breathe when the door closed between us
And your taillights dimmed as you drove away.

I never thought i'd breathe the same again,
As pain took away all my wind -
And i stood there deflated and broken
Refusing to accept the bitter end.

It happened on my best friend's wedding day.
I'll never understand why you did it that way -
I had visions of our wedding as I was standing there
But you ruined that for me and left my heart betrayed.

I never thought i'd get over it, not in a million years.
I cried what seemed a river's worh of tears.
I mourned for you like someone mourns the dead -
It was the realization of all my fears.

But once the salt left my wounds, I realized I was free,
Free from all the emotional torture you gave me.
Free from wondering where you were -
Free from the fragile little girl you made me be.

And I never looked back once you were gone.
I learned how hurt can make you strong,
I learned what a real man should be.
And with that, my old dear lover, so long.

Congrats: A Wedding Greeting

Gat not much to say
But that all will pay
Both hubby and wifey
In the life race that
is pacey.

Dream not again
For the reality is
now a rain
Very cold to the skin
Shredding the
thickest cover to the

Together you are
Forever and ever,
so take a bow!
From us all
And walk with heads

Barakah and Sakinah
I see
Flowing with you in a
Swim and dwell in it
And felicitate forever
with it!

Happy Married life!
A life free from strife!

This is the date we have chosen,
                        forever, it will stand tall.
For today, time will be frozen,
l locked in our hearts' enthrall.

We will remember this date through our lifetime,
should six years or sixty pass.
For today, you agreed to be mine,
our hopes and dreams in love here joined at last.

This date will pass many a year,
and I will look at you then as I do now.
Time will stand still for an instant when this date appears,
for us today, it begins with our vow.

I will remember this date as you walked down the aisle,
a lovely vision, dressed in white.
You will remember me waiting for you with that big smile,
knowing how I wanted you with all my might.

This is the date we will remember together,
as "Our Day" and only ours.
For the love that has brought us hither,
                           today, vaults the highest towers.

This is the date we have chosen
to join us, each to the other in love.
May we always live with the joy that caused us to be here,
as we ask God's blessing from above.

So bless us on this date, Oh Lord,
keep us well and give us your wisdom .
As we plight our troths before you today,
for this is the date we have chosen.

Promises, Promises

You promised on our wedding day
To take me for your wife,
That from that day forward
You'd stay beside me all my life.

Yet when better days were over
And money got a little tight,
You started being horrible
Causing us to fight.

You promised you would care for me
In sickness and in health,
And yet as soon as I got ill
You left me by myself.

You promised to love and cherish me
Till death do us part,
Yet you never meant a word
You've broken my heart.

Promises, promises,
You're dishonourable through and through,
A renege, a traitor
And yet I still love you.

Wedding Night

What started with a gaze, Transformed to nuptial bliss. You took my breath away, Within our first kiss. · Feeling your soft tanned skin, Brushing next to mine. Steams the windows of my soul, Sending shivers up my spine. · Tonight is our night, We finally are complete. Our poetic hearts are scribing, Midnight sonnets with each beat. · You’ve waited for this moment, Now I’m finally yours. I’ll love you ‘til my soul, Sets sail for Heaven’s shores. · You’re the one and only, Who brings joy to my life. We are sensual lovers, Husband and wife. ________________ *Note: Just a poem

Getting ready for a wedding
It's the hardest thing to do
One minute you're feeling happy
The next, you're all unglued
The wedding cake, the flowers
You're trying to find the best
In all the uproar and excitement
You've forgotten your favorite guest
The tuxes and the dresses
What color will they be
The depression of choosing
But, the decision is up to me
The guest book, announcements and
Finding the right address
To having a nice wedding
You will want God to bless
So, yes, I'm not ready
To have this special day
So, make sure you think of me
Whenever you begin to pray

Happy Father's Day Todd

It feels like I have known you
for my entire life.
I truly started living
when I became your wife.

You've taught me what true love is
by opening your heart.
My love for you is immeasurable.
It's been growing from the start.

I watch you with our children.
The love shown on your face.
You show them all such tenderness
as you guide them into place.

If I could choose the perfect man,
you'd be the only one.
You're dependable, and reliable,
but you're also tons of fun!!

You help to teach our kids what's right
and guide them through this life.
I have to tell you once again...
I love being your wife!

There ain’t no one that will say I make sense
There ain’t no reason for me to mask a pretense
There ain’t no reason for anyone to hear what I say
Because long before they understand I’ve taken my away

I live in a big city but feel so small
Bouncing from lovers like rubber ball
So I stand on a soapbox speaking to them all
Waiting for the sky or the skyscrapers to fall

I promise them prognostications that will never come true
While I explain why the dove with an olive branch flew
He left his nest with babies begging to be fed
because God’s son and Satan’s daughter are wed

I sweat on the concrete trying to teach what I’ve learned first hand
I was taught that at fancy parties people like me are banned
I also learned that somehow people see through my facade
And ain’t no one who’s going to forgive me, especially God

Your Love

Your love is like a melody
softly singing to my heart.
Your laugh is like the air I brethe
something I cannot, will not part.

Your heart is like a red balloon
that grows bigger with each breath.
Your life is like eternal time,
neverending, not even by death.

As long as I breathe air and live,
you will always be alive and kind.
Your memory will live with me,
in my heart and in my mind.

You have left, footprints on my soul.
Our memories have scarred me true,
and the absolute truth is,
I cannot, will not, live without you.

From this Day Forward

May this sacred bond bring you
all the things marriage should bring.
All the exquisite joys of life
patience, love, and understanding.

The circle of love beings with
the purest and truest friendship.
And transcends into a bond
of long-lasting relationship.

Love blossoms immensely
like flower petals unfurl.
From this moment on you’ll both be
standing together facing the world.

Lonely dreams are vast like oceans
searching for direction to go shoreward.
Now you shall never walk alone
from this day forward.

The Wedding

Yes I've made some bad decisions

Taken a few wrong turns.

I've even lived to regret

Most of the bridges I've burned.

But of all the things I should have done

That I didn't do.

The one that I regret the most

Is not saying, I love you.

Now your in the arms of another.

I guess you'll never know.

All the dreams I had for us

Or how I loved you so.

I'll regret it till my dying day

The things that might have been.

I wish I had the chance to tell you now

What I couldn't tell you then.

As yours standing there, so beautiful

In a stunning gown of white.

The minister just told the crowd

I pronounce you man and wife.
