Photos with Glitches on Invisible Wings

You're a camera obscura, a broken bell's rings,
You made me dance slowly on sad phantom strings.
You always had the slightly off-color touch,
Your insensitive skin never softened up much.

Our meals were quiet with subtle trespass,
Off like a mispronounced requiem mass.
I corrupted your files, threw you askew,
You knew my pictures weren't entirely true.

We never could see in each other's mirrors,
Our focus was broken, our lenses were tears
That clouded our vision, that shrouded the past,
Our statements were false, or if pure couldn't last.

I voided your interest, the chasm was steep,
You fell into boredom, I put you to sleep.
You woke up translucent, you dissolved in the air,
Did I ever see you, were you ever there?

I Wish

I wish I were an angel
To flood your world with my light
To hold, comfort and cheer you
All through long lonely night

I wish I were a fairy
To flit about your dear heart
To give it tiny squeezes
When about to fall apart
I wish I were a goddess
Of beauty a paragon
So you would gaze and wonder
Thoughts of any other gone

I wish I were a muse
Living there inside your mind
To offer inspiration
When right words you need to find

I wish I were a princess
Blessed with luxury so fine
I’d make you live in splendor
If you promise to be mine

I wish I were a star
Sprinkling stardust down on you
Guiding each and every step
Make your dearest wish come true

I wish I were the moon
Working on your inner tides
Drawing you ever closer
Till in me your love abides

I wish I were the sun
Burning to the very core
Searing you with my passion
Rays touching what I adore

I wish I were a flower
To bloom nurtured by your care
Wrap you in my loving scent
Make life beautiful and fair

I wish I were the wind
Caressing you every way
Enfolding you in my arms
Seductress having my way

I wish I were the rain
That wets body through and through
That sprinkles love droplets soft
But then drums itself on you

I wish I were the sea
Foaming, churning ecstasy
To draw you into my depth
Riding waves, unleashed and free

But I am just a woman
I’m as simple as can be
But if you give me your love
All these wonders you will see

That Still Small Voice

In still small voice you spoke to me
And whispered oh, so earnestly
“Be careful, child, this will not do
You wander far for pastures new…

Be careful, child, I know your heart
I know what lies in every part
Your longings only I can fill
And yet you go; I whisper still

Come back to me and be at peace
With me your every storm will cease
My child, you are my precious one
Why choose the night and not the SON!”

You spoke to me in a still small voice
But I still longed to make the choice
I wanted to feel wildly free
The one I hurt was only me

Yes, I got hurt when I denied
The truth you spoke, and so I cried
To keep me safe, you placed a hedge
You promised love in blood tinged pledge

The still small voice, I didn’t heed
My heart left bare to scar and bleed
And yet you whisper sweet to me
“I’m still here child, to set you free.

So long ago, I came to earth
You’ll soon be thinking of my birth
I left all heaven, just for you
I had to prove my love was true”

Your still small voice I can now hear
And though I’ve wandered, you are near
I hear you whisper to my heart
Lord, hold me close and never part

Eileen Manassian

Two key verses play a part in this prayer. One is a thought that I touched on in previous writes. God puts a hedge around those whom He loves to protect them...We sometimes choose to break down that hedge, and we suffer the consequences.

Psalms 13: 5 - 6
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

Another thought is about how God speaks to us. He speaks to us through nature, though other believers, through His word, and sometimes...its that small voice that whispers in our ear. That's how it was with the prophet Elijah. He was afraid and was in hiding. God had plans for him.

1 Kings 19:11-13New International Version (NIV)

11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

The King James Version mentions...a still small voice. Yes, He still speaks to us...but do we listen?

We read each other so perfectly
two minds with a single thought,
when we combine, baby it's explosive
chemistry like ours cannot be taught.

The electricity gets me jumping
and attacks the heart's beat,
this experiment you concocted
has revived the frog's feet.

Like a volcanic lava lamp
an eruption of emotion flows,
the heat welds me to you
our bond that nobody knows.

We met inside this classroom
where my opposite attracted to yours,
like magnetized paperclips
we were linked right from our cores.

We're closer than Dr. Jekyll was
to his hidden self, Mr. Hyde,
but, I can take you by the hand
as we go along for the ride.

Oh, stay with me for always love
though I may pull away,
or strike your cheek with brazen hand,
then tease you with my play.

Pledge your heart my cherished one,
though deeds do not deserve.
My words cry out from silent tongue.
Why have I lost my nerve?

Spare me tears from love’s lost nights
and lonely days, sun-spilled,
a flood of light could never quench
soul’s thirst, I live for still.

A need or want, I ne’er define
nor scores I dare not keep,
for love’s own breath whispered in ear
can cause my heart to leap.

I pray mistakes of past shan’t cost
my love and morrow’s trust.
No roses bloom without the thorns;
no hearth warms without dust.

So if you go, my love from thee
I’ll know ‘tis all my fault.
To borrow time, I’ll beg and plead
‘til pounding heart does halt.

On a sale, my Aunt Bel can’t be denied
Access to mark-downs with red, yellow tags
Off for the big loot, her shoulders take pride
In carrying four gigantic tote-bags.

To keep poised, she dons fancy sunglasses
Like those models who shop but then conceal,
A giddy look that excites the senses
Obsessed about offers… Aunt’s set to reel.

Hurrying to snatch branded teenage jeans
Which do not fit her extra large belly;
She picks a bimbo hat, dye, and face-creams
As twinkling eyes roll … what a joyful spree.

While purchases are arranged , now she whines
The Mall’s closing with a long queue that’s packed
Bel groans,” I'm dizzy; my breathing's not fine,”
She gets ahead… feigning a heart attack!

Let's Pretend

Let's say you were mistaken
and I hadn't said a word.
Twas pain brought me to my knee
and the wind you must have heard.

Why can’t you just shrug it off
and admonish me out loud?
Or claim it was just a game
to amuse the passing crowd.

Let's pretend nothing happened
so we can forget this eve.
And once discretely forgot
if you want me to, I'll leave.

But suppose I did propose
and each word came from my heart?
Would it matter that I cried
when you tore my hopes apart?

Love On Solid Ground

On egg shells she walks
Hoping one will not break
For the head games will start
She does not want to partake

He jumps to wrong conclusions
That are farthest from the truth
He always assumes the worst
She needs rational, not uncouth

She's fighting a losing battle
For he never sees her point
She can't head off the fight
Does he enjoy being out of joint

She wants to walk on solid ground
To no longer fear the cracks
She deserves to live happily
Not worrying about his attacks

Finding the courage to walk away
When the heart wants to remain
If only he could change his ways
Love her without causing any pain

She would more than gladly stay
Embrace living happily ever after
But as important as true love is
Equally vital is trust and laughter

Experienced Female Mechanic Goes on a Man Hunt

I'm searching for a new man.
			(My lemon quit on me.)
			I'm a discerning seeker.
			(The smallest dent, I'll see!)

			I want a younger fellow;
			(Low mileage is a must.)
			Required is great get-up-and-go
			(an engine with no rust).

He should desire me in his lap.
			(Seat warmers feel so good.)
He's gotta be in tiptop shape.
(I'll know what's under the hood!)

			Low-maintenance, I value.
			(oil changes quarterly)
He must look good and make me proud.
(Buffed shine, I love to see.)
			Trustworthiness, I so desire.
(Don't like those tow truck calls!)
He must always keep pace with me.
(Don't want a thing that stalls.)

This is also posted on our collaboration page, but for as long as we don't have a premium membership, I will post it here too, so I can add a picture and soundfile to it.

Voice: Jason Williams

I’ve fallen for him, I’m head over heals
His picture I have, gives me so many feels.
His smile, his eyes, so beautiful to me,
When he looks my way, then what does he see?

I look at his photos, so dear to me
His eyes warm and sometimes sad
Whatever he tells me, all I can see
Is gentleness and love, nothing bad.

Just to hear his voice and what he will say.
Bringing light to my world, he brightens my day.
Oceans apart, it’s really not fair
But I love what we have, I know that he cares.

I won't forget the day we met for real
I love him and know him so very well
Every little thing makes me whole, I feel
Alive again, totally under his spell

     With each day that passes, i'm starting to find;
He's sweet and compassionate, this angel of mine.
Each night i wait and each night I long
for morning to come, with him I belong

His little giggles, how he feels no shame
around me, how he talks, what he says
That's the way love evolves, he feels the same
about me, his loving, tender ways.

By candlelight, I lie awake in bed,
with visions of him skating through my head.
For morning I wait, for morning I long.
In the mean time, I listen to our song.

I dance, arms wrapped around me, I sway,
Rock back and forth with memories
I hope that one day, not just a piece
Of me will be with him, and this time stay

You French exit at the back door
When you laugh rolling on the floor
For me you have a lot in store
Can’t tell now but I know there’s more
I just find your choice perplexing
Wondering if you’re wondering
What it’s like loving and learning
I’m just here, silently waiting
Your busy-being-single phase
Like the cool drizzle on my face
Soon enough will vanish in space
Your way back to love, you’ll soon trace
Open your eyes and look at me
I know I can make you happy
I have never been this cheesy
You can give in, you can choose me

Blue Daisy

Delicate and beautiful
is sweet Daisy. She’s
like a flowers’ petals that
flutter in the breeze.

Like a daisy’s center part -
yellow as the sun -
she is bright and cheerful, for
she’s a lucky one.

Every evening, with a smile,
she is at the door -
waiting for the handsome man
who she calls “Amor.”

They embrace when he arrives
from his job each night.
Always when he sees his wife,
she’s a welcome sight.

Friday is their special time -
dinner out in lieu
of his wife’s great cooking and
she’ll be wearing blue!

That’s her favorite color, so
date night with her spouse,
Daisy wears a bright blue dress
or blue skirt with blouse.

Yellow is the silken hair
falling round her face.
Other times, her hair is up.
Both styles show her grace.

“Ah, you’ve got on dancing shoes,”
hubbie says to her.
“Will we dance tonight?” she asks,
her voice like a purr.

Never does her spouse say no
to his precious queen.
That night they will be the pair
the most joyful seen!

Blue her eyes will shine for him
like the sapphire stone
that he bought to give to her
when they’re all alone.

Every day his actions say
that he will stay true.
“You are my Blue Daisy,” he
whispers. “I love you.”

At the End of the Road

At the End of the Road
Stop begging me to stay! Don’t act like you don’t know, our journey ends right here - my answer is still “NO!”
Once you were my pleasure, but now you’re my poison. Your type of love is toxic; so that’s my real reason.
I’m tired of these rocky roads, and done with the games you play. I’m dizzy from your ups and downs; it’s time we call it a day!
Let’s make this nice and easy- I don’t want you to cry. Let’s have no handshake, no hug, nor a last kiss good-bye.
Stop begging me to stay! Surely by now you should know, we reached the end of our road… as love left us long ago!

Lifes Journey

She's haunted by the what ifs,
The why's and what could have been,
She's haunted by mistakes she's made,
That shattered all her dreams.

If only she could reverse time
And go a different way,
Maybe things would be different
Sitting here today.

She knows her worries are futile,
We each have to follow Gods plan,
Lessons had to be learnt,
She had to play her hand.

She tries to live in the here and now,
Forgetting the pain and sorrow,
Enjoy each day as it is given
And live with hope for tomorrow.

Under Love's Spell

It’s seven here yet there it’s still five
she'll be getting off work about now.
And my old computer whirls to life
it's the best my budget will allow.

The screen bleeps and I check my e-mail
my heart pounding eager for our date.
Yet I’m too early she’s not on line
so I log onto Skype and wait.

My mind wanders back to our first chat
when the wee hours melted into dawn.
For with cramped fingers and sleepy eyes
we never noticed time rolling on.

Ever since then we talk every night
though thousands of miles divide our hearts.
And I can't wait to see her again
for when she smiles loneliness departs.

I’m jarred by her message “Hi Babe”
her romantic greeting transforms me.
And instantly we’re under love’s spell
as the miles dissolve and set us free.

Unintentional Heartbreaker

I will not dye my hair,
blonde like Marilyn Monroe,
or cover myself in makeup,
to go and put on a show.

I am not one of those girls,
who will purposely flirt,
winking at every man,
just to eventually cause hurt.

I know how it feels,
to have my heart broken,
he was selfish and cruel,
uncaring words were spoken.

I never wanted to hurt your feelings,
because we were not meant to be,
I feel so very flattered,
that you had a crush on me.

The right girl is out there,
she is waiting for you,
just like my guy is searching,
for a heart that beats true.

To Love a Woman

You love the warrior woman
the one who's in control
you love the sweet seductress
who electrifies your soul

You love the teasing temptress
the woman who knows to please
you love the siren vixen
who makes you fall to your knees

You love the modern lady
who's full of class and finesse
who takes it all in her stride
knows how to dress and undress

You love the pretty woman
who graces you with a smile
the loving kind supporter
who makes it all seem worthwhile

Why can't you love the captive
who's imprisoned by your love?
The one who needs your kindness
to know what life is made of?

Why can't you love the weak one
who needs your strength to survive?
the one who clings to your heart,
for your soul keeps her alive?

Why can't you love the hurt one
who needs healing from your lips?
the "thirsty for love" woman,
who's only been granted sips?

Why can't you love her fully,
for all the good and the bad?
Love her in her sheer madness
Love her when her heart is glad

Be different from mortal men
Who desire what appeals
Be her hero of valor
who feels all that her heart feels

For I am myriad women
in the body of just one
Don't love just a part of me
or I'm sure your love to shun

Love my strong fighting spirit
Love my broken weakened mind
Love seductress and seduced
Love with madness that is blind

If you love in completeness
If you treasure all I am
You'll be my king and lover
I will make you feel all man!

--BREATHE: a collab with Mystic Rose

BREATHE As I inhale jasmines: sweet sailing scents of blooms, it place me to the time where distance has no room I'm chilled by blowing wind from an open window, struck by void while the moonbeams shines to grass below. Missing and hunger are the melodies that sweeps a lowly heart trembling as melancholy creeps, my growing yearning is to close this dreary space for so long it tears our hearts with wanting embrace. Our beings are imperfect but we do aspire: to feel, to taste one true love all of us desire--- throbbing with purity, lifting a soul from mire to end sorrows brought by agony and cooled fire When true love finally comes, stays and do surround, life reckons with a purpose to set and abound. Freed from shackles, thriving forever with delight: breathe anew for darkness shall fade to fuller light. When the night claims you like a wayward leaf of old and it takes you to the caves where anything turns gold you don't ask any questions and you don't dare breathe you just follow her, like a light weight tumbled weed Down the passages of dark, down the staircase of rune every step a little deeper than the crevices of moon you can almost taste the air, on your tonguing clepe you can down the stars of heaven in one single leap Taking you by the waist it shall dance you through the elixir of happiness when your feeling down n' blue you just thank the Lord for the magic of this gift all you need is skin n' eyes to cross her lowly rift When night claims you like a wayward leaf of old and takes you to her caves, all etched with gold don't ask her any questions just go ahead breathe no, don't ask her anything at all, just breathe, yes breathe... ___________________________________________ 4:25 pm, January 08, 2015

To Be Or Not To Be

To be or not to be?,
That is my question to you,
When the truth is told to me,
Then I shall decide what to do.

Are you not to be my dream come true?,
Are you to be my nightmare?,
Shall you leave me feeling blue?,
Or will you always be there?

Are you not to be my rose?,
Are you to be my thorn?,
Will you on bended knee propose?,
Or shall you leave me all forlorn?

Are you not to be my life?,
Are you to be my end?,
Me, I shall be your loving wife,
Will you be more than just a friend?

Are you not to be my heaven?,
Are you to be my hell?,
Always home by the hour of eleven,
Or shall I alone at midnight, dwell?

Are you not to be my light?,
Are you to be my dark?,
Shall I hide in the shadowed night?,
Or soar in day as a skylark?

Are you not to be my truth?,
Are you to be my lie?,
Will you stay after my youth?,
Or leave me to wonder why?

Are you not to be my love?,
Are you to be my hate?,
Were you sent from above?,
Or am I just tempting fate?

To be or not to be?,
A question I need an answer to,
When the truth is told to me,
Then I shall decide what to do.

On Your Own

While young and naive
I fell for your charms.
And yet now I must
abandon your arms.

I will tiptoe out
when the night turns black.
And scurry away
without looking back.

Asleep with your dreams
you lie unaware.
And it hurts, because
inside I still care.

All of my hopes were
scuttled in mid stream.
And there's more to love
than a worn out dream.

I can’t live a lie
or try to pretend.
Yet you’ll always be
much more than a friend.

Tomorrow you'll feel
confused and alone.
Yet you’ll be better
off, left on your own.

Your wounded heart hurts like hell
for your love has been declined.
And it’s not easy to tell
how this will effect your mind.

Jealousy unleashes fears
stirring nightmares long at rest.
And inks wounds with acid tears
failing morality’s test.

Feelings that you try to hide
increase anxiety’s climb.
For demons you thought had died
have been resurrected by time.

Camouflaging truth with lies
you pick scabs that leave a scar.
And gloat inside when love dies
acting crazy and bizarre.

Somehow stifling silent screams
you wipe a tear from your cheek.
And strip memories of dreams,
denouncing the love you seek.

For Your Eyes Only

They said we'd never make it
They said we would not last
And though we've had it rough, dear
For us, the dye's long been cast

They don't seem to understand it
They don't have a single clue
That though we have our problems
There is a magic glue

A glue so rare and precious
A glue so exquisitely fine
Forged out of our young love
Making you forever mine

We have a precious daughter
She is the forever bond
The union of our souls is she
Of whom you are so fond

Today as I watched you sleep
I longed to kiss you awake
With passion dipped words to say:
“Wake up, sweet love let’s make!”

And so I teased and I pleased you
Laid your head on my bare breast
I smiled at myself for I knew
That would bring on all the rest

I was not disappointed
You made me scream and sign
With techniques tried and true
You took me to the heavens high

And now you're getting older
You're climbing the ladder of time
Remember when you're old and grey
I'll still think you are sublime!

Eileen Manassian Ghali

A Little Background:

I wrote this some time ago for my husband, but I added to it to post it today. I met him when we were twelve, he asked me out at 14, I accepted him at 17 when I came back from the States, I married him at 26. We were neighbors, but our families were rivals of sorts. Regular Montegues and Capulets. His parents threatened to disown him if he married me. He was willing to go through the risk. This explains the beginning of the poem. It's been twenty years now. We are still together. The Title of the poem, a song by Sheena Easton, was "Our SONG."

Loving Opposites

Can we awake from the madness,
that divides this world in two,
can we set free our ‘rightness’
to a different point of view?

Free-will as a gift has been given
as a sacred God-given right,
to all of life’s diverse species
that we might grow to the Light.

Yet that which contains no shadows
remains forever unknown,
for contrast gives depth and meaning
through light and shade and tone.

This gift we all have been given,
is a wondrous two-edged sword,
for we can explore the darkness,
where hatred and fear are stored.

Can the light exist without darkness,
or the day be complete without night?
for opposites balance the fulcrum,
in all that is wrong or right.

If a fool persists in his folly,
eventually he will be wise
to the pattern of God’s creation,
where awareness has to arise.

For the pain we inflict on others,
will certainly haunt us again,
as part of the path to perfection,
where all is held as the same.

If I only accept my light side,
who carries my fear and shame?
if I only walk on my ‘right’ side
I must for certain be lame.

If I see myself as a ‘good’ guy,
Who then do I see as the ‘bad?’
If I hold to one thought or system,
then someone will see me as mad.

Our thoughts and our words condemn us
In all that we say or we do,
Whenever I make a statement,
the opposite also is true.

Can we find the way to redemption,
in this world with its shade and hue?
for tyrant sits within us,
if we but only knew.

My fanatic sits within me,
waving his rifle and sword,
my dictator stands beside him,
condemning my every word.

And how do I deal with these monsters,
that generate hatred and fear,
can I learn to love and accept them
as a part of all I hold dear?

When I love my inner traitor,
my terrorist and my thief,
I can find a place for us to live,
in harmony and in peace.

When we come to know that opposites
in all of us have to dwell,
we can find a place of balance,
in the space ‘tween heaven and hell.

When we stop projecting our shadow
onto those we know must be wrong,
we will find the path to redemption,
where all of us can belong.

Can we awake from the madness
that tears this world in two,
by pitting us against ourselves
with different points of view.

Light sits within the darkness
and there’s darkness in the light
by dancing with these opposites
we move from wrong and right.

We can awake from the madness
that splits this world in two,
by walking in the shoes of those
with different points of view.
