I could have held you and kept you from falling
I could have been by your side
We had it all, but it wasn't enough
I could have swallowed my pride

There was so much I could have done
There were so many signs
I never took the time to know you
I never read tween the lines

Now that it's over and we've gone our ways
Now that the knot is untied
I still get up in the middle of my dreams
Don't know how often I've cried

There was a time I put you before
All of my plans and my schemes
Then I gave it up selling my soul
Along with all of my dreams

Now I am here, living alone
I never dreamed we would part
You gave me some of my most cherished memories
I gave you a piece of my heart.

Last Night I Dreamt

Last night I dreamt
That the world was all at rest
From vice exempt
Filled with songs of mortals blessed
And we waltzed to the strains of a song
'Neath the arbour of love and repose
Glad in heart at the absence of wrong
'Mid the lilacs and hedges of rose

Last night I dreamt
That I danced the night away
In some attempt
To hold back the morning's gray
And we waltzed to the strains of a song
'Neath the arbour of love and repose
Glad in heart at the absence of wrong
'Mid the lilacs and hedges of rose

Last night I dreamt
Of an arbour filled with light
And then I wept
When it vanished from my sight
And I've naught but a memory dear
Of the dresses of silk and brocade
Of the moon and the stars shining clear
And the fond wish that I could have stayed

Dark Lullaby

Go to sleep little child;
Close your eyes and shut them tight,
For we do not know if day will break
And be swallowed up by night.

But for now, worry not, my dear;
The dark's not as bad as it seems.
Though darkness looms over the future,
You can still escape into your dreams.

Lie still my darling baby;
Breathe calmly and breathe slow
Enjoy the quiet of the tranquil night
And the moon's hypnotic glow.

Worry not about the closet
Or the things under your bed;
Escape into Dreamland, my dear,
Safe from all the things you dread.

And if tomorrow fails in coming,
At least you will not be here;
Fly away my child, to the Land of Dreams...

Or be consumed by your fears.

In My Life

There are places I remember Some I used to call my home Family house behind the curtain Tiny hotel room in Rome There are people that I met Walking down the path of life Meeting some I do regret Many still walk alongside There were moments in my life Many I admit were hard Gone with a blink of an eye Some I cherish in my heart All those moments and those places People that I know and knew They’d lose meaning, color, flavor If in my life there was no YOU. You're My Angel

I heard a song,
I studied the picture.
I read the title,
And I remembered you.

The song? It was about a guy,
Who loved a girl
His angel.
His only Sunshine, Whose arms he was happy in.

The picture? An angel,
Born new to the world,
Shattering her shell,
The bonds that he helped to break.

-The title? A game we used to play,
-A game I teased you with.
-A game that made us laugh.
-The title? You're my Angel.

"You're my Angel,
You're the only sunshine in my life,
Feels like heaven when you take me in your arms."
A moment in the song that tears me up every time.

I remember the game, do you?
I always teased you..
Called her my Angel...
You would always give me the craziest look and "gibbs" me

A slap in the back of the head.
And I'd go "fine. my angel of darkness"
And you'd smile and giggle...
And Id feel like im floating in the clouds.

those moments were when I were my happiest.
When I felt closest to you.
When I swear I could feel your heartbeat,
And hear your thoughts.

I guess what I'm trying to say,
Is that in my eyes, you'll always be my Angel,
And no, not an Angel of the Darkness,
But a true, pure Angel that saved me.

Playin' Man

A completely true story....

My grandpa was a playin' man
He had a local four piece band
I was without a doubt his number one fan
Grandpa and music went hand in hand

Get together's on Saturday night
A little moonshine to start out right
Dancin' a jig under stars so bright
Dancin' and playin' until mornins' light

My grandpa was a playin' man
He played harmonica in his four piece band
I was was without a doubt his number one fan
Grandpa and music went hand in hand

Singin' songs of long ago
Happy voices singin' way down low
Grandpa puttin' on quite a show
Where he learned those songs I don't know

My grandpa was a playin' man
His guitar makin' magic in that four piece band
I was without a doubt his number one fan
Grandpa and music went hand in hand

Fiddles screamin' out loud and clear
Folks would gather round from far and near
Everybody grinnin' from ear to ear
Those memories to me are oh so dear

My grandpa was a playin ' man!

Something Like You

Something like a love song
Crossed my mind,
Sang to my soul,
Made my heart fly.

Something like a daydream
Drove me wild
Had me on cloud nine
Free like a child.

Something like a miracle
Hit me hard
Had me jumping and skipping.
I was touching the stars.

Something like a love story
Took my by surprise
Feeling like I won the lotto
Gave me butterflies.

Something like a love song
Played softly to my heart beat
Its all your fault
And I'm swept off my feet.

Secret knowledge divulged, transportation via Oracle.
Open your closed minds, decipher the great parable.
Order out of chaos, alpha point of eternity.
Mirthful muse master, calling for a return to intimacy.

Smugness borne of ignorance, case of closed-minded fools.
Dysfunctional mentality, disregarding laws and rules.
Invisible fire-mist creatures, sexually perversed.
Seeking to infect mortals, with dose of spiritual curse.

Source of mystical knowledge, tapped-in by skilled mediums.
Marvellous man-made machines, in likeness of cherubums.
Mind-shattering formula, pure artificial illusion.
Great divine manifesto, accident or omen?

Futuristic message made known, precognition handy.
Deep-sleep fancy dreams, no existence beyond memory.
Imprinted fiber in being, a walking time-bomb.
Inevitable cataclysm, inner senses made numb.

Acquired too much power, turning a course corrupt.
Vengeful neighbors lurk, only revenge their minds opt.
So-called all-seeing, all-knowing--blasphemers!
Idolized and gleefully praised, by foolish worshipers.

Omega point of time, hard truth made manifest.
Psychopathic personalities, playing the weak like chess.
Questioning and prodding minds, a strive to discover.
Eat while you still can, 'fore the great Beast devour!

I Guess You'll Never Know

It always starts out so lovely,
Talking all the time -
“Can’t wait to see you,
I’m so glad you’re mine.”

But time fades the colors,
And makes the petals fall.
What once was so exciting -
Now seems a little dull.

And I know you’ve had your drama
From people in the past.
They didn’t see what they had in you -
Well, I could’ve fixed that.

I wouldn’t hurt you like she did,
I wouldn’t push you around.
I wouldn’t take you for granted,
I guess you’ll never know now.

I just want you to know this:
My intentions were pure.
And if I’d let myself love you -
It would’ve been for who you were.

I’m learning every fairy tale
Won’t have a happy end.
‘Cause now I’m sitting here crying,
Missing my friend.

And now we’re looking at a goodbye
Because you just cant seem to see -
Just what you could’ve had
If you’d just picked me.

I wouldn’t hurt you like she did,
I wouldn’t push you around.
I wouldn’t take you for granted,
I guess you’ll never know now.

The work I do is not the most prestigious one,
from four to twelve thirty I drive...until my shift is done;
a forklift driver rarely takes a coffee-break,
and being courteous and helpful to customers means a lot.

My long-life dream was to be a songwriter like Andrew Lloyd Webber, but my songs
didn't click...they never made the Top Ten on the Billboard Charts;
and although they didn't sell well to make it my profession, I still hold my thumb up...
that if a famous recording artist performed them, I'd have a huge hit!

My free time is devoted to creating lyrics that I will set to music in late hours;
and I would never be a Mozart, Verdi, or Beethoven if didn't knock on doors
and expose my works to those who would be willing to listen without reluctance...
could one be old and succeed as the young ones with fresher, brighter ideas?

For now, I remain the same blue collar guy coloring more illusive dreams;
many approach me and say," Don't give up...you have plenty of chances!".
I do want to believe that and wear the deserved crown and be lauded as others...
'till my lucky day comes, I must make a living and have the faith of the achievers.

The Little Girls Abyss

Ever since I was young I always had this dream About a little girl who lived next door Who drowned in a nearby stream I don't know what possessed me But I always knew one day She would turn up at my door And ask me out to play I mentioned it to my parents They said "listen" and sat me down It happened before we moved here Her bigger sister let her drown The family we bought the house from Moved on from the fear of this Their teenage daughter suffered nightmares And dreamt of a wet abyss Many years have passed I am now well into my teens But this aura that still surrounds me Everywhere I look she's seen One evening I went to shower As normal I pulled back the screen I turned to look in the mirror She was there, staring back at me There was an incredible similarity She looked like me when i was young Now having shown herself, is it over Or has it really just begun UNSUPPORTED CODE

This is a song to be sung by a lady so if there's one out there who thinks this worthy, sings and writes music take this and run with it. The only thing I want is the knowledge that someone used it...thanks if anyone can do this:

I remember when the boy next door first knocked upon my door
I’d seen him washing his ninety-six Chevy two days before
He was shirtless and sweating while wetting down his wheels
And that is when a lady’s desire and lack of better judgment congeals

I think it was blue with writing that read “Body By Design”
I’m talking about the shirt of a man I’d like to make mine
With ripples and his rough spots in all the perfect places
Yet soft enough to hold me and enfold me in his embraces

The boy next door had a two-door Chevy he named “Beth”
He saw me as I walked by in short-shorts and very short of breath
The boy next door was breathtaking with eyes of beautiful blue
Someone who could make this girl next door’s dreams come true

But who, I wondered, was this lady by the name of Beth
Could he have confused the “B” as in boy with an “S” as in Seth?
Yes, that’s the circumstance now I’m sure with certainty
His name is Seth, there is no Beth, and I know that certainly

I remember when the boy next door first knocked upon my door
I’d seen him washing his ninety-six Chevy two days before
He was shirtless and sweating while wetting down his wheels
And that is when a lady’s desire and lack of better judgment congeals

That boy next door went from door to door looking for a kiss
While I waited at my door for the boy next door to come and kiss this miss
Finally we kept kissing and his beauty made my feverish flesh cold
And still gives me chills and thrills while he carries me over the threshold

The boy next door had a two-door Chevy that he named “Beth”
He saw me as I walked by in short-shorts and very short of breath
The boy next door was breathtaking with eyes of beautiful blue
The boy next door who made this girl next door’s dreams come true
And now the boy next door is the boy next door no more
Since that boy next door and I now share the very same front door
The very same…………… front door!

With the Dawning Light

I lean against the railing
Drinking in the setting sun
The breeze dances in my hair
The day will soon be done

I feel your arms around me
Your body pressed against mine
I lean back on your shoulder
Drink in your scent like wine

Your lips linger on my neck
I let out a gentle sigh
“Come inside, my sweet darling
Let the moon rise in your eyes.

I know I’m often busy
Love making seems so rushed
Tonight I’ll take things slow
In a room tranquil and hushed.”

You turn me round to face you
You claim me with a kiss
“Oh, come with me, my darling
Let me fill this night with bliss

You give me all that I want
You never withhold my due
Tonight, lie back, my darling
Let ME make love to you.”

You carry me to our bed
And gently lay me down
I close my eyes and sigh
As your hands undress me now

“Just let me love and hold you
Let me ravish till morning light
In liquid warmth of sweetness
Is where I will pass this night.”

I feel your hands caress me
I feel your lips of fire
I faintly hear your murmurs
As I’m taken by desire

Tenderly, gently, slowly
You tease my receptive mind
Knowing full well, it is there
My fantasies you will find

I listen and I follow
I surrender as I'm lead
Tonight you want to give
Tonight I will be fed

Passion has shut my eyes
Every touch...magnified
Your lips kiss away my tears
When in release I have cried

I finally resurface
Your hand toys with my damp hair
Your lips give a longing kiss
Of your need I’m now aware

I croon softly in your ear
“Let desire now take flight
Come in to me, my darling
Come now with the dawning light.”

How can you hide, from the all-seeing eyes!
How can you fight, a spirit that never dies!
What makes you think, you can freeze the sun!
Whoever told you, you're the almighty one!

How can you hold weight, when you're so hollow!
Who said you can erase, your own shadow!
What makes you think, you can shake the unshakable!
Who gave you the power, to be incredible!

How can you live, with the wrong computation!
Why not ask God, for the right equation!
Why not take your time, quit living too fast!
Why dwell on your troubles, that will never last!

How can you gain, if you refuse to give!
How can you kill, and you fighting to live!
Why shouldn't you get burned, playing with fire!
Why shouldn't you drown, in your lustful desire!

How can you love the invisible, and hate visible men!
Why shouldn't you get mawed, wrestling with lion!
Whoever told you, zero and zero is one!
How can you proceed, with your math undone!

Who made you omniscience, a know-it-all!
Who gave you the crutch, to break your fall!
How can you think, robbing God is okay!
Who said if you give, blessing's not your pay!

Calendar Cats

Calendar cats are the Pussy élite.
Silky or spiky, or butch, or effete,
Calendar cats are a privilege to meet …
They’re, oh! SO beautiful!

My Bubble’s a bit smelly, and he doesn’t seem to care,
And his poor old baldy belly has got ‘flying-away’ hair.
He quacks and he sneezes, and he dribbles ev’rywhere –
It’s not pretty at all …

Calendar cats have immaculate hair.
It’s sleek and it’s clean – not a flea anywhere;
But they’re paper, not real-life – it’s true, and you can’t
Hear them PURRing at all …

Bubble’s greedy and he’s lazy, and his fur gets up my nose.
He gets it in my dinner and he gets it on my clothes.
He isn’t too hygienic at all, BUT – he PURRs
    Like a pneumatic drill …

My Bubble does nothing, and he does it all day.
When he’s not on my lap, then he’s still in my way.
He sleeps in my garden, and dreams of the old
Days, - when HE had it all …

But calendar cats only hang on the wall,
And when you need a cuddle they’re no use at all …

So I’ll cuddle my Bubble ...
Yes, I’ll cuddle my Bubble …
And I won’t want a calendar pussy at all …
No, I won’t want a calendar cat
At all!

This is a waltz (3/4) rhythm, and verses 2 and 4 are in double time (6/8)
Sadly, Bubble is no longer with us, but he did live to nearly 20!

Invisible Mending

Invisible mending, for an invisible pain:
Invisibly tearing whenever I see you again.
Impossible longing, wrapped in my tentative smile:
Wondering vainly if you could love me a while …

Invisible torture of inaudible words,
Piercing my mem'ry like a glittering sword.
Invisible scalpel of your butterfly touch,
Reminding my body that I miss you so much …

Pulling out threads from all the light and the shade.
Weaving them neatly into the holes that you made.
Jabbing the needle into edges so raw:
Pulling together almost as good as before …

Invisible mending – no, you can’t see the tear:
But look at it closely and you know that it’s there.
The patch may look better, but it’s never so strong:
The hurt’s covered over but it’s never quite gone …

Invisible mending, for an invisible pain:
Invisibly tearing whenever I see you again.
Indelible visions of a happier time:
Incredible torture now … ‘cause you’re no longer mine.

Seek while you may find, strength of cerebral cortex.
'Though shrouded in complexities, higher minds advance to next.
Con folks par exellence, exorcising painful memories.
Enabling state of elightenment, a projection of ideas.

Dragging weaklings to their graves, an ego-boosting sacrafice.
Failure to exercise faith, irony of premature demise.
Consider the Scriptures, ample madness run to and fro.
Knowledge is now increased, clear way for fatal blow.

Open your blinded eyes, see the holies' scatterin' power.
Wicked understands not, but wise realize the imminent hour.
Wicked adds on wickedness, cause to purify thyself in white.
Time and time half, words now opened for light.

Standing angelic beings, the likes of Michael the archangel.
Madness of so-called great minds, moving with bubbling trouble.
Concern yourself not, with those sleeping in the dust.
For the scare's more horrid, with the living blood-lust.

Call upon divine wisdom, shine as bright firmament.
Turn ample righteous as stars, escape the everlasting contempt.
Obsessive megalomaniacs, prophesying fire and brimstone.
Mentally challenged fools, the likes of Jim Jones.

Fast-moving celest' object, associates in lore.
Akin to doom and destruction, fate in jeopardy twice more.
The world has yet to witness, the great mind-bogglin'.
Abomination makes desolate, thousand and three-plus timing!

I am the confidant of many,
a healer of weary souls,
they come to me with questions,
and tales of their ample woes.

I advise and console their broken,
and bleeding hearts,
for I know how it feels,
to be ripped and utterly torn apart.

What can one so humble as I;
I often conclude with query short and sweet;
do for a true master-poet;
who muses others as he speak?

Little Clock

for Gertrud Widmayer, my landlady at Heidelberg

Why in pensive ticking, silent thoughts
   You wile your time away
When all around huge swelling bells
   Toll the days away!

Every hour that announced may go
   Your silent hands take hold
And though the ages chimed in ears
   Yours they never behold.

If all the clocks the world had known
Had struck one strong big note,
They would never still your plodding tone
Nor the working hearth you alert.

Do you wonder, wonder, little clock
   What makes the grandfather tick!
Or his aching belly in the depth of sorrow
Cries to the world it's sick!

Thirty million years and Pleistocene dark,
They are one split second short!
And whimpering suns that rise and flop
Have scarce stolen your tick or thought!

So, my little clock, my faithful clock
When I hear the tall town bell,
I'll shrug my shoulders, one tiny moment
And know that all is well.

My thoughts comes curiously,
My lips speaks freely,
My body's a temple holding guilt & worries,
My eyes witness truth and my ears clearly hears.

My hands help others,
My feet will continue to walk futher,
My sharp tounge prays daily,
and my knees bow geniunely.

My mind's always growing,
so still now, my job's to keep showing,
The man I was made to be,
God's radiance ever emitting out of me.

Urgency in my voice breathing
faster as our arousal is peaked..
run away or give in, the choice...
let's surrender to our private fantasy

Fire felt through the sounds we release
our forbidden parts respond
skin moistened as our motions increase
let's surrender to our private fantasy

I'm breathless, fire's spreading from head to toe
extinquish me, our fire will douse these flames
whisper the desires you long fo'
surrender to me, my private fantasy

passionate positioning, at your request
where do you want me to be
above or below, a sexual quest
surrender to me, my private fantasy

a rider i am, so the thought turns me on quick
as your hands grab my chest
hurry up...finish, which position to pick
surrender to me before our fantasy becomes reality

Swimming deep in the ease inside my bed-
I sift through dreams that drift inside my head-
And kiss the storm that's deep inside my core-
where dancing in the rain is not a metaphor.

Slept through love, and slept through it's collage-
turns out what was real, was a mirage-
And kiss the pain that's deep inside my core-
because where there was a Miss, there is no more.

The tragedy is...
when one finds himself alone,
relying on dreams that die before they are being born;
seasons renew themselves, his hasty years can't otherwise!

Love gently strokes with indelible joy the portrait of happy faces,
and its colors blend in to immortalize those realistic images:
by placing roses in the hands of an elegant lady;
grant her lifetime' wish, love her with dignity!

The tragedy is...
having a lot to say, but afraid to speak words,
all the while she awaited your approval of indecisive lover;
constantly checking the mail-box for another letter!

Showers of confetti swirling in the festive air so delusional...
is a parade of an urealized thought to attract the trivial imagination,
see reality as it is:  earn trust by being more caring and lovable;
fulfill her needs, and she will satisfy yours with true intention!

The tragedy is...
most men wait for that opportunity to open up,
to reveal the sensitive side of the their fearful and silent heart;
and keeping affection from their women, can cost them much happiness!

I find hard to move around,
dragging my aching body,
unable to do even the simplest chores...
yes, I am very sick of flu:
it's something I can't undo!

I will not go to the hospital,
lie in a comfortable bed for hours,
coughing and sneezing waiting for a call...
while spreading this virus and infecting others.

I'm missing out on brisk walks
that keep my immune system healthy,
and no blues frustrate me more than loneliness...
come spring and let joy renew itself in this memory.

My remedy is Robitussin by far,
a miraculous cure for cold symptoms,
and since I can't go out, or drive my car...
I indulge myself in the creation lyrics.

It's my first day back to work,
I'm drinking coffee, and I shouldn't,
but these headaches won't go away...
unless I smell it, sip it and dream away.

Every day you put on a mask
a different face for each task
the son, the brother, the father, and friend
each role you play...till the days end

No one can know, no one must see
the face hidden underneath, realness hidden by thee
it's been so long, even you don't know
what's behind your mask...what the mirror will show

If you take it off, you feel so weak
so scared, terrified to speak
look into your eyes, and see without the disguise
is this the man you're supposed to be

Remove the mask, it will set you free
help you heal, help you to see
that your mask hides nothing these days
now let me help remove your mask...let's put it away!!!

Lullaby for the Grieving

Lay your head down precious one
And dry your eyes right now
For dreams of happy endings
Will be coming anyhow

The rains will stop, that much we know
Though we may not know how
So walk ahead to dryer ground
Where my love will abound

Know that when you're all alone
I've never been more near
And when you think I'm gone from you
I'm holding you, my dear

The nights will pass before you know
The sun will rise once more
I'll be with you in the sunshine
And with you in the storm

In the sunshine, in the rain
Just look up to the sky
And wish you may and wish you might
And to you, I will fly

I'll never leave you, never go
Where you can't find me there
Just look inside your heart to find
The love we share

Boys, the price is now ten dollars a dance
Due mostly to this country’s inflation
But if someone said you get more than a dance
Mister, you got some faulty information

I can do almost any dance you request
I can dance like a seraph, a sprite or an elf
When it comes to dancing, man, I am the best
But mister, you had better keep your hands to yourself

I’ll jiggle and wiggle and I might even giggle
And there ain’t a dance that’s opposed to me
Hold me tight while you spin me around
But mister, keep your hands where they’re supposed to be

I can adapt to most any dance you might choose
A tap dancer or a hot hula dancer, honey I can be them
I’m adept at adapting to anything you may want
But mister, keep your hands where I can see them

Boys, the price is now ten dollars a dance
Due mostly to this country’s inflation
But if someone said you get more than a dance
Mister, you got some faulty information

I will shake it and make it a dance worthwhile
And it will be my curves that you will ponder
It will be the best ten dollars you ever spent
But mister, don’t coerce your hands to wander

Ten dollars will get you the dance of your life
But only if you are able to meet my price
The two of us can dance the whole night away
But mister, keep your hands off the merchandise

It’s only a dance, and that’s all you will get
Gimme ten bucks and you can take my hand
But honey, don’t expect extra for your money
Okay, a peck on the cheek will cost you an extra grand

But don’t forget that I’m married to a man in the band
Because I am married to that drummer in the baaaaandddddddd!

Sleep well, Emily
on a soft pillow
resembling a willow
courting the starry sea...

And should a storm arrive,
I'll shut the windows,
and keep serenity alive
for the sake of precious dreams...

Sleep well, Emily
dreaming of August' breezes
when the gleaming waves
reflect a dark blue so pretty...

Covered by a transparent satin sheet color sapphire
softer than your own glowing skin,
your feminine curves induce an incredible desire
in the palpiting heart of this tempted man....

Sleep well, Emily
putting all thoughts to sleep,
unless passion arises an intense heat
to allow me to touch you softly...

And exploring our sexuality
without being ashamed of nudity,
we are those lovers seeking total darkness
into a place where there's deep tenderness....
