I know a girl
That's pure beauty to see
Won't mention her name
As I feel there's no need

You'd know by her smile
Her sparkling eyes
The way she celebrates
Every aspect of life

Spending her day
Grabbing hold of the reigns
Taking the good thoughts she's got
And giving them all away

The way the wind clearly dares
To tousle her hair
As she breezes through life
With hardly a care

Yes I know I girl
Who's beautiful to behold
We all know who she is
Without her name being told

This is actually written to all women...you are ALL Beautiful!

When a woman is just a woman She's nobody's but her own She embraces truth in life with compassion in her soul When a woman is just a woman There's ambition on her mind There is wisdom in her words and foundations to be kind When a woman is just a woman there's a beauty in her eyes and that beauty reflects journeys travelled through her inner light When a woman is just a woman There' s a sweetness in her smile There's the instinct of a mother with protection for each child When a woman is just a woman She is humble, She is plain She' s a friend, She's a great listener Seeks adventure and not vain When a woman is just a woman She thinks firstly with her heart She gives strength yet begs protection She needs firm securing arms When a woman is just a woman There are secrets still concealed There are alluring mysteries Chapters signed yet unrevealed When a woman is just a woman There is attitude, there is class She is sensual, She is daring She ' s a treasure born to last When a woman is just a woman She shakes stardust in the blues She 's a Lucille Ball and Nelson She ' s the gift of rainbow hues. ~ Linda-Marie The Sweetheart of P. S. ~

When it comes to a friendly hi!
One of the best poetry, hearts we can't deny!

Our Sweetheart Linda Marie
No one is smoother and sweeter than her- our peach tree

Always stopping by to say hi, no matter, rain/sleet or snow
Her contest Zany Zoo, one of the soups best show

A woman who never judged me from the start
Linda Marie, thank you for being such a sweetheart

Sharing her delightful poems, a double doze for me
Oh Me- Oh My- That woman can write so much poetry!

I am sure she is loved by the poetry soup staff
LOL! How this blonde bombshell made us laugh

Remember, when she took her laptop to a sandy Island
She smiled, and shared, how the laptop was damaged with so much sand

Hanging out with Linda, it's like singing "Kumbaya my Lord"-- I felt her holding my hand
How sweet of Linda, when she invited us to meet her new Husband?

Linda Marie is loved by her very own BBF team
Letting us know, life has been more than a dream

Her heart so big, she worried when her BFF's weren't around
Leaving notes, making sure we have not hit a poet break down

She keeps us in her heart when we are not logged in
Her beautiful and clever/witty poem will forever remain

Most of her poetry made me smile
Linda Marie's poetry had so much Style!

We prayed for you when we heard about your son
Thank you for sharing your faith in God. -Linda You're #1

A poet I highly recommend
Linda Marie my poetry soup best friend

   A
   rose
   exudes
   beauty
   and
   aroma
   A
   creation
   from
   nature
   With
   grace
   Even
   its
   thorns
   are
   beautiful
   Luminous
   and
   shiny

   A
   Lady ;
   The
   similarity
   is
   that
   both
   must
   be
   treated
   with

Love went to the liquor store
She bought a bottle
Drank until the bottle was dry
Walked on over to the hardware store
Where there she bought a hunting knife

Love sliced open my chest
Her hands grasped my heart
She had a hearty meal
Dropping her knife
She walked away in the dark

Love stole my heart

In all fairness there was a time
Men were smarter than women
Better read
For the simple reason
We didn’t place the books on our head

Now I do confess, this statement will hurt me true
As a book comes flying across my face turned blue
I better rethink my conclusions of life
Or me lady will make my time here pure strife
Wisdom you see is learned in real life!

just a little smile from you
can make every thing alright
I know its not much
but it makes a difference in my life

its just the movement of your lips
and a little show of teeth
but that's all it takes
to make me feel complete

just a wiggle of your nose
and wink from your eyes
and it goes straight to my heart
and makes me feel to fly

a touch from your finger tips
sets off butterflies in my stomach
and I want to shout to the world
she rocks ,she rock rock. rock

just one of your sweet kiss
and I don't want to wash my lips again
just one hug from you
and I don't want to let go again

a little bite of your sandwich
and the way you chew your food
and then you sip your ice tea
with your cool and relax mood

the way the sun shines down on you
when you are walking on the street
makes all the dust turns to sugar
when it touches your feet

just a little look from you
makes my heart goes beat beat beat
and all the birds flew around you
comes out singing tweet, tweet ,tweet

every little thing about you
is like a candy treat
its just the movement your lips
and just a little show of teeth

the smell of your hair
the fragrance of your skin
your red Rosie cheeks
with the cute cute chin

You are the sun in my day
and the wind in my sky's,
the food on my plate
and the love of my life

Take me
Take me within your soul
Devour me with your words
Love me with your poetic desires

You speak of times long ago
You speak of passions long since gone
You walk on roses, and bleed your love
You caress me with your tears

High in the mountains, you have no fear
All the warriors are down below
The battle is love, other men not the foe
Kiss me now, be done with your fears

I am the meadow of your earthly desires
Paint me, write of me, I am yours
Kiss the dreams you once had long ago
Angels of the past will see you through

Heaven is not an eternal place
Is a love that burns eternal
Seek not the paradise of heaven
I am here, you are now

Devour me

my father always told me
"son don't go breaking no hearts
if you cant take her to the finish line
then don't go making any false starts

don't take a woman hearts for granted
treat her with kindness and respect
make her feel special and wanted
never make her cry and feel neglect

for god created woman as a gift
for man to honor ,cherish and love
they are our heaven on earth
our beautiful angel from above

the magical wonders of a woman
has no limits or boundaries to retrieve
with a good woman besides you
"son "there's nothing that you cant achieve

the words my father has spoken
it has never left my ears
and his wisdom and understanding
I carry with me through out the years

one day i will find a good woman
and i will ask her to be my wife
and i shall treat her like a princess
love and cherish her for the rest of her life

the woman who gets my heart
will own it from now and forever
and i will fill her life with happiness
every second that we spend together

and i will take her to Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad is the country where i was born
and will introduce her to all the tasty dishes
and see the sunrise at the break of dawn

and we will take walks on the beach
holding hands under the moonlight
and if the sea breeze makes her cold
i will hold her in my arms all night

yes the woman that i will love
will be the queen of all queens
the diamond of all diamonds
the wish of my every dreams

until i meet this beautiful woman
who will be the one to share my life
i will continue to write my poems
knowing one day my angel will arrive

and will cover me with her love
like the sun over the the seven seas
as my father looks down from heaven
proud of the man that i have come to be

What is the world,
But an oyster to you?
What are other people,
If not aids to help you

What purpose do you serve?
What do you know how to do?
Nothing. Nothing at all
But sit, waiting for someone to save you.

You poor damsel
Always in distress
I wish I could respect you
But you're just too helpless

Other people use their legs,
Their feet, and their brain
You know one day,
You should do the same

But you would rather be a burden
It really is a shame
I think you like to struggle
You want life to be a pain

You poor damsel
Always in distress
I wish I could respect you
But you're just too helpless

Things could be better
If you would at least try
But that means you actually have to do something,
You prefer to just cry

Cry and complain
Complain, moan and sigh
"World look at me, please!
Or else I'll die"

You poor damsel
Always in distress
I wish I could respect you
But you're just too helpless

One day I pray you learn
To do things by yourself
Instead of choosing not to move
Without the assistance of someone else

One day no one will be there
To hear you when you call
And the world won't stop
To brace your fake fall

You poor damsel
Always in distress
I wish I could respect you
But you're just too helpless

LEAST WE FORGET THE GIRLS’ KILLING CRY
(Apropos The Boko Haram Girls)

                i
We no longer hear
the screams of the young girls
nor the whimpering
of their little brothers—
nor the echoes of falling tears
of grieving widowed mothers
and the muffled hush, hush, hush
to new born babes.

How much longer
must we awake
to another morning
we wished we never lived to see?

Mornings where
the horizon’s plains
are dotted with earthen keloids
of humpbacked graves
in overpopulated makeshift cemeteries
where food crops once grew.
Horizons reminiscent of
the screaming echoes animating
from departing Middle Passage ships.

                  ii
How much longer
must we experience nights
of damned deranged dads—brothers
roaming, ravaging, raping
sisters and slitting mothers’ throats;
damned deranged dads—brothers
driven by a demonized illusion
of the Nile goddess of fertility;
intoxicating themselves
with chalices of their families’ blood?
How much longer?!!!

How much longer
must our daughters remain
forgotten victims
Of those who’ve lost the free
in freedom—like those who’ve sold the in
in independence—lackeys
to and of ancient slave masters
who’ve learned well
the western ways of deception?

                    iii
Unmoved and no longer
grievously concerned,
the world mesmerizes itself
with a deceived sacrilege image
of a revered Nile goddess.
Meanwhile, defiled bodies
of African girls
are no longer newsworthy…
these wretched of the earth sisters
continue to suffer ethnocentric
rape and gendercide: perpetuations
of free roaming…hoodwinked brethren,
inebriated with neo-colonial genocide.

A real man with morals and principles would never abuse a lady
how can a man beat a woman and drive her to nothing but fear
gone are the days when a man treats a woman the way he should
not saying that there aren't men like that but honestly they are rare

How can a man kiss a woman and then tell her that she is beautiful
yet when they disagree he is quick to slap her across the face
all my life I was taught that I should always have respect for a woman
so if I should abuse one to my family I would be the biggest disgrace

Any man that would hit a woman to me is nothing more than a coward
have you ever considered that she is somebody's aunt or their mother
I would never condone a man physically abusing his wife or girlfriend
I don't care who that man is it could be my best friend or even my brother

How would you feel if a man turns around and beats your only sister
I can imagine the threatening remarks or even the action you would take
you swear on your life that you would defend any female in your family
yet you hurt another man's family you are not a real man you are a fake

I could never beat or abuse the woman that I say I love and care about
the only time I would put my hands all over her is during our lovemaking
I was thought from a tender age that a woman's strength is her mouth
so I would save my energy for the makeup which is always breathtaking

women don't be fooled if a man hits you doesn't means that he cares
he tells you how soft your skin is yet he beats you all over your body
he then comes and apologizes and tells you how much he loves you
and later the process replays like beating you is his biggest hobby

a woman's skin is so soft and her touch is so delicate and tender
and yet a man sees it fit to hit her this is something I can't understand
I am glad I can stand and say that beating a woman is ethically wrong
I could never hit a woman and this makes me proud to call myself a man

so if you are a man that beats your woman honestly you sick my stomach
how could you say you love her yet you destroy her beautiful features
I think men like you should be condemned to hell on judgment day
I'm asking the real men to join the fight against all women beaters

Dear Sir, my innocence is gone now, no more fear
Do you love to **** me again, I am always here.
I wonder when you taught me how to use a pen,
I was so into you but my ****** was in pain!
I was crying; I was too immature to understand
I was turning only 13, I couldn't feel what happened.
but I promise I never forget what you taught me at the end.
I begged you to stop and looked into your eyes,
there was a reflection of a cruel world, that’s what I deserved!
Don't be afraid, mommy never knows what you did,
Nobody knows that you made me bleed.
Dear sir, my innocence is gone with all my tears,
as I had no safe place to hide myself from fears.
Nobody saw anything as your world was so blind!
having hidden hatred inside, a virgin died.
Dear sir, time cannot erase your memories,
time doesn't heal all wounds, that you marked,
yes, you took my innocence that will be always on my mind.
My innocent world was shattered by your touch
Hope no one ever has to experience such
For all the pain, all the cruelty, thank you very much!

WOMEN IN COMBAT

By Leonard Kleeman

Women in real combat, can that really be?
The news article had a great big headline.
It stated that when outdoors, women can't pee.
And, even if it's true, that's no business
of mine.

The Pentagon will now rescind its combat ban.
Which means all the danger doesn't belong
just to a man.
But there are many opponents who say
that women are too weak to have it
that way.

That's very funny 'cause I never thought women
to be weak.
Many gals that I know are stronger than some men.
It matters not how big they are or what kind
of physique;
All the strength that women have or need is
within them.

To pee outside is not the thing they need
neither is skipping showers or pee in the wild.
They just need their brothers and sisters in arms
to cover their backs and not think of their charms,
and to accept them in combat and not think they're mild.

They are brave and courageous if you think
what they do.
They can give birth to babies and then
help you too.
They have strength in their hearts and smarts
in their head.
And if you get bad they'll beat you instead.

Where women have fought before
During peace and mostly at war,
They have fought well and won for their side
and had no reason for anything to hide.

So they can pee outside or pee in the wild.
Or even shower where men are beguiled.
Now that the Pentagon has made its analysis
that women fighting at war would not be calamitous,
They should not hold them back just because they
have no *****es.

Wild Flower
By Nate Spears
Published 2013 In Death Of A Rose by Nate Spears

Rescue this sunflower
It's capable of being a ray of light
Nurture it, value it, and love it
Its petals are more delicate than they appear in sight

A wild flower it is; but it displays beauty
The facts of its species remain unknown
Its fight to reach its true potential is admired
It’ birth to existence is undetermined
 It’s roots shows trauma
Its presentation brings hesitates to potential caregivers
No one's prepared to take a chance
This flower is destined to win

All earthly roots sprout from above
At some point in a life’s span; we could use a kiss or hug
He who refuses to display any element of the wild
Is merely real
An artificial representation of life
Stuck in Styrofoam surrounded by fake moss and dust
No breath, no soul, non-existence
A human being choked from an outer dimension.
Rescue this wild flower with love.

Boys boys boys boys

She has red hair
She was blonde last month
She maybe another next month, next week, or tomorrow
She loves them boys
She always goes for the married ones, mostly
She likes them small, short
Well maybe not small but short
      You feel me
She also likes them exotic

I've had the honor to meet 'em all

Let's start with C, yea this one is a difficult case for me
We never get along, I can't stand him
He thinks he's all that
Maybe it's his bling bling, his taste of shine and diamond, the rims in his cars that gets her

Lets move to M, okay this is a cute one
Very handsome, mouthwatering and even down to earth!
It's this one that brings her from her station all the way to his so she can just sit next to him
And flirt, and smile, and play with her hair as she hungrily eyes him
A woman on heat

Let's move to R, I love him
He is so quiet and manly and with his style, he only demands respect
So smart
He says very little, he is one to hunt for
The curiosity is her trap on this one

Let's move to another R
This one has a baby face, even when he talks
So cute!
But he's got two babies you know, so don't let that baby face fool you
Maybe it's his 'naivety' that roars the tiger in her

And then E, hahaha, lol
This one brings out the naughty in me
He makes me say things I shouldn't say
But what the heck? Am old now, I can say whatever
He is always hot, literally!
Keeping them jokes sweaty is what she does with him

And then T, the least of the group coz he ain't married!
This one has PLAYER written all over him
From his sweet talk, to his touches, to his sexy smile
He has learnt his game well
This one doesn't entertain her as much

I watch her as she does her thing
We watch her, and shake our heads
I find her entertaining
Men, I don't remember having that much energy when I was twenty
One of this days, a wife of one these catches will show up when she is all over her man and someone will get a beating
One of these days, she will be married but she will also be haunted by the thoughts of some young chick all over her man, like she does

I was arrested this morning in bed
The evidence was very overwhelming
I was bloody and bleeding all over
In a frenzy last night
After some wine
Apparently I committed atrocities

As I sit inside this bare white interrogation room
I can tell you with a clear conscience
I feel no remorse
No regret
They all deserved to die
I crushed them
Made them bleed
Made them plead
I showed not one drop of mercy
Killer killer killer
I slaughtered them all
Every last female I could slap, slay or strangle
Dead dead dead
I am guilty as charged

By the end of the evening
My friends had to restrain me
A frenzied killer was on the loose
Although they themselves carry some of the guilt
I could not commit this crime alone as I did
Sure they killed a few here and there too
I know what you’re thinking
The Killing fields

Well Law and Order, FMD division
Was about to start their interrogation
Nothing to it really
I readily confessed
Every single one of those dam females got what they deserved
I confessed, if I hadn’t killed them
They would have surely sucked me dry
Till I was all skin and bones

Why, I had an evil smile across my face
All those famous serial killers
I out did them all
I showed no mercy
Blood and gore I slaughtered them all

Now you are all thinking
Who is this evil one?
So I say to you
I am also you
There is not one of you
Man or woman
In my shoes
Who, would not have done the same

Those darn female mosquitoes that night
Were driving me insane!!!!

You send bolts through my skin
something I was never to
accomplish with you, when I
saw you it's like my heart sank
to my stomach and I was in
shock my body still my body
heavy felt like when I moved I
was about to fall to my knees
you make me want to get
inside my brain pick you up and
take you out pick you one by
one like a flower because I do
love you and love you not.

WIMBLEDON WOMEN TENNIS PLAYERS

I am a woman tennis
player, and I'm also
very butch,
I run around showing
my knickers - to please
the crowd so much.

I also make loud noises,
I groan, shriek and
shout,
It is so very hard work -
running all about.

We do like to express
ourselves - unlike the
men themselves,
We are built so very
"manly" - we feel we
have men's blood cells!!

But why do we make
these noises - which
annoy all the spectators?
Even the TV viewers -
they've muted our
behaviour!!!!

But we would never
shout at any staff - this
is unacceptable,
And if any male tennis
player does this - the
victim should report
them to the Bill.

We also like our
strawberries, when on
centre court,
But have you seen the
prices - they may leave
you caught short!!!!

So, we women will all
shout, we'll moan and
leap around,
And if you mute the
TV volume - you'l never
hear a sound!!

The mechanical components, the valve that pumps my heart
The reactive nerve endings that serve a sensory stimulus
The tear ducts that latently only lend lubrication
The silly little practical necessary body bits, pieces and parts

I yawn & it reminds me… I should probably inhale & exhale
I smile because it is simply facial muscles that need exercise
I do mechanical muscle management to strengthen & maximise
Biomechanical body’s like mine don’t simply go frail..

My skin surface is stimulated, & sympathetically constricts.. it must be cold?
My mental function set to maintain a neutral base
My muscles, skeletal system, ligaments, tendons & bony structures
Encapsulated by a mechanised myofascial web, complete the outer mould

Organs operate internally as a well serviced engine, its all systems go
Emotions just pesky little hormone imbalances, from a time long ago
Where we as woman once needed in order to reproduce
Will evolution shrink our ovaries as they have outgrown their use?

My tongue embraces words, my tongue the sharpened sword
I trip stumble & fall and my senses heighten
My pelvic floor constricts & I feel it twitch & tighten
I massage the distressed muscles & release multiple rewards

It’s my body, it’s my temple, my vessel my machine
Not some sensitive, high strung weak inferior copy of a male
It is supple, soft and silky to the touch, all curves & contours
It’s my body, it’s my temple, my vessel my machine……

All men (the loser boyfriends/husbands) think that it's their right to be physically, mentally, and verbally abusive toward their female companions (girlfriends/wives), well they're wrong. Most guys are always beating their girlfriends/wives up every single day just because they didn't make their men dinner, do chores around the house, or whatever. It seems that these womanizing losers are way better than their women. Actually, they're not; they're idiots. Controlling these women and being physically, mentally, and verbally abusive toward them don't make these Neanderthals men; they're like childish cowards. All guys think that they're the only breadwinners in their families and the women aren't. But guess what--they're not; some of them don't have jobs. And does anyone knows what gets on my nerves? Men always cheating on their girlfriends/wives with other women, getting them pregnant, and not taking care of the children they already have. And those controlling, abusive men, they're always telling their female spouses/lovers what to do, what to eat, where to look, and who to talk to. I mean, who are these womanizing losers to judge other men and to boss these women around? I mean, who does that? Everybody doesn't even know why they'd bother spending the rest of their lives with those abusive idiots. This whole saying by these controlling abusive men have been getting on everybody's nerves and my nerves, as well: "You're-not-to-speak-unless-spoken-to," this "You're-not-to-talk-to-your-family" ordeal, this whole "You're-not-to-have-guy-friends," and this whole "You need me! You're nothing without me! You have no money! You have no friends! Everything's in my name: the house, the cars, clothes, everything I own! You're useless! You're worthless! I own you for life! And you will respect me!" Where I come from, the rest of us nicer guys, we treat our women with the respect they rightfully deserve. The last time I checked, the mothers have raised their sons to treat women and other people with respect, but they now know where they've gone wrong with those womanizing clowns. My suggestion for the women is for them to leave their abusive husbands/boyfriends before it's too late because if they don't, they'll end up in the hospital or the morgue. To be honest, these women, they never should've met, let alone dated or married those abusive men to begin with. And if these abusive men think that they can control those women forever, they've got another coming.

With his wisdom and my charisma, we shoot strong magnetism.
To be his girl is simply magnetic phenomena.
His love is instrumental loving me without words, reassurances me that I can be his girl.
I do not need to travel the world; I already know that he is the one I am looking for.
Interventions of my heart and his mind, is a love affair that is one of a kind.
My felicity I draw off his mentality.
His pleasing quality makes me love his intellectual capabilities.
I am guilty committing felonies strictly on fidelity, showing nothing but loyalty.
Everlasting fiery no other man can come near me, my flame burns internally literally.
Influence by his charm, as if I was a vampire feeding off his blood.
To be his girl is a translation of my version of his love.
In a state of adaptation I am in compliance, we form an alliance.
Merging our personalities turns me to an unstoppable we.
To be his girl I turn into every woman in the world.
The best of both worlds the collaboration of boy meets girl.
Abundance in his talent possessing riches, loving me wealthy never turning to bankruptcy.
I am definitely making history on the day he marries me.

If I could spend my whole life with you,
It will only be a dream, because no such thing is true.
If no one open's their heart all the way through.
How can I ever really give my heart to you?
If I did you wouldn't have felt the pain you do.
Therefor no need to say sorry,
we just say it, because we know it's not true.
We say it just to get you through,
to have, to behold, the pain I gave you!
If you should ever feel like this is your last breath,
to love, is to lay to rest.
It can feel worse than any death.
A women romancer is truly the best!
I've sacrifice nothing making you feel like you do,
but you have to learn to give credit, to where credit is due!
Stimulating of the heart, Is to know where to start.
         My devotion is to myself,
I have to love me, before loving any one else
I'm done with the burden of pain, to have me, it's to what you'll gain.
To walk beside me, to never deny me. To love me, is to live as one.
For you can now, feel just where I come from.
To pave a new way, to this unacquainted highway.
Intimacy is thee only thing I could offer to you.
For you could only be mine, no other friend will do.
To have you all to myself, is to deprive,
from liberty, to imprison, to confine to me. To surrender your heart,
thorough thick and, thin. To never let any other lover in,
to whom I'm your only friend, from the start till thee very end.
To vow to never give away your heart, if we do break apart.
If I shall ever feel the love you do for me, I promise to love you for eternity!
To never have to say I'm sorry, for the love I'll feel for you.
For I could never put you through!
To have a good women by your side, is to tell the truth, even if it make's me cry.
That's what it will take for you can be a real man.
To stand tall, to walk with pride, for a real man shouldn't have to lie.
If it should ever feel like it's way to hard, and we took this new found love way to far...
           Reminiscence of that day,
that I began to play thee O' Jays, when I used to be your girl,
till you opened my eyes to this cruel world.
I would like to start all over again, can you change my mind, to just go back in time.
For to truly love someone, is to let them free.
To find each other again, it was truly meant to be!
To say this is true love, shall ever be a mystery.
For there's no paradise, in this so called world we call life.
Until thee very day you make me your wife!

Where I'm from we don't do debts, fronts, or take tabs
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
Put that money on the head, you don't need a mask
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
How is a broke fool gon' try and smash
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash

Money on my mind like bread on a sandwich

I run the city, they're the lights, I'm the switch

I stand for what's mine, never see me slip and fall

I'm runnin' the race, you're a baby with a slow crawl

My cash stay on point, like a sharpened pencil

Try 'n' copy my style, you gon' need mo' than a stencil

I don't be's in the trap, buy my workers put-in overtime

Feds can't catch me, never see me committin' crime

That's why from time to time I shoot 'em a raise

And tell 'em to stash cash for those rainy days

If money talk, then there's nothing to say

If B.S walk, none of ya' fools can stay

My money talkin' for me, betta' yet, it's in a conversation

Ya' look like money; make money, nice observation

They say the love of money's the root of all evil

So how much money will it take to really love people

Standing at the  crossroads of life
I wonder which path I will take
The one that makes life easy
Or the one to happiness.

The easy path will take me to
A life of ease and riches
Where work conditions are perfect
Making life  go without hitches

The path to happiness is paved
With heartache along the way
But when you get to the end  of the journey
Your heart with be wanting to stay

So i stand and wonder And wait
Knowing that i will be shown the way

The path to easy living
Is to work in a hospital near by
Have satisfaction in my work
But I would be living a lie

The path  that leads to  happiness
Will take me far away, to  a poor country
Where the women need my help as a midwife
Where many  babies an mums now die

I will run the gauntlet of many men
Who class women as lower than  cattle
Not having  help in an way so they die
I know i will have to battle.

To set up a clinic where i can help
Give advice  on keeping things clean
Helping the health of the starving
Showing where to begin.

Be their midwife when needed
For now so many more die than live
When complications arise
But with  help from above they'll survive

My head and heart are in conflict
My family say don't depart
But I have to live with my self
Follow whats in my heart

So I have  bought a  ticket
To foreign soil i must go
If i only help just a few
I will have tried thats all I know.

Wrinkle, wrinkle on my face…

Couldn't you have found some other place ?

What made you furrow between my eyes ?

And all those creams, they are nothing but lies….

When I look in the mirror, all I can see…

Is a silver haired person staring back at me….

Then there are the lines , which run down the sides of my nose…

Running in circles, round my lips, down my neck and into my clothes….

Speaking of clothes , isn’t that where the wrinkles should be ?

Is nature playing a trick on me ?

Or is this a sign “ old “ is sneaking up on me ?

It seems only yesterday I was a young girl .. and had my whole life ahead of me…

So simple..so free……

Which don’t take me wrong I have enjoyed my life’s ride…

And there isn’t much in my life, I haven’t tried….

But it should would be nice if I could just see…

Myself with one less wrinkle…when I looked back at me…..

Don't ask me how it happened; I have no clear recollection. I have always had this brazen habit of coming right out and directly asking for whatever I want; I always figured "no!" was the only worst possible outcome, aside from a good cussing, perhaps. Either or both I can handle.

My best friend, who had invited me to this event, wasn't even a speaker; she was just present for class credit and I had nothing better to do so I happily joined her. Her professor was the director, or MC, of the night's festivities and proceedings and Jill introduced us soon after we entered the banquet hall and before the speaking commenced.

I also have this horrid habit of mentioning that I am an artist to anyone of any importance or significance whatsoever, hoping to sound gallant and impressive. I can only surmise that Jill's teacher asked me what kind of artist I was, and I must have boldly stated, with an air of haughty confidence no doubt, that I was a de facto grand poet of the ages. I was only 19 at the time and thought I was Poe! My style was sloppy and unrefined, but I didn't know it yet.

Given that this was a "Women's Studies" organization and all guest speakers that night were, obviously, going to be female, I don't know how I convinced, finagled, schemed, bulled, or mechanized my way into making myself an impromptu speaker as well that evening. It was an "anything goes" type platform, from women reading poetry to short stories, to essays or presenting artwork. I was, I kid you not, the first male to EVER be a speaker at this "Women's Studies" gathering.

Having committed many of my poems to memory, I just quickly jotted down four or five particular favorites, and when it was my time to speak, impertinently stepped right up to the platform, adjusted the microphone, and recited my horrible poetry to a group of...I'm not sure if "feminists" is quite the word for which I am searching. Let's just say that if Gloria Steinem or Gertrude Stein had been in the audience, I might have been yanked off the podium. So there I was, babbling about, having basically crashed this Feminist rally. That I wasn't mauled or had my eyes scratched out can only be attributed to luck, progressive-thinking, guardian Angels or plain ol' polite courtesy. In retrospect, I blanch at the thought of my shameless, unabashed audacity.

I would love to know whether any more males ever took part in anymore of their events, but I guess I'll never know and can only hope that little bit of history I made that night remains intact. True story.

Have you ever imagined the world we live without women?
It is like a lung without some oxygen, agonizing and inevitably dead,
A face never with a smile, boring and unfriendly.
A cup of tea without some grains of sugar, bitter and foul,
A pool without some water, dry and empty,
A good ride on a bad untilled road, rough and uninteresting,
The earth without some drops of rain, an inescapable famine,

But how come with the great number of women on planet earth?
We still live to cry as a reggae legend sang “no woman no cry”,
It is because they permit evil as much as they permit good,
Gullible and instrumental in the hand of the wicked ones,
Ugly and nice, beautiful and dangerous,
Cunning like serpents, deceitful like chameleon,
Holy but liars, having a form of godliness but highly ungodly,
Lovely like little puppies, sweet like bees honey,
Women, an invincible force in our our world today.

She is strong but also weak
with that beautiful smile
so graceful and meek
Her touch is soft
and her words ever so sweet
Never a dull moment
always bright and sometimes lenient
with a positive outlook
even when it's clearly out of the books
She wipes the tears, and forces the smiles
touches the heart
and never you dare cross her child
Mother, Mama, Mom, Mommy
the many names that she goes by
All quite fitting for the warrior inside
with the love giving and super healing ways
she never makes a mistake
Even when you thought she was wrong
give it a day and you'll realize exactly what she was trying to say all along ( you soon realize she was right all along)
She is the all knowing, all loving, super talented and magical gift from the God above

A lullaby when he begins to speak magnetism of energy lures my heart to beat, for a man I have yet to meet. The imagination of him portraying a beautiful illusion of this love he seeks.
Me giving birth to the love he thirsts to bring my love forth, the new beginning of anything worth binding I am trying.
I am crying my lullabies in compliance I am ready to give my heart to you,
Only if my fantasy could come true, my dynamics of my twisted mind dealing with my emotions driving my heart forces.
Maledictions of a curse illusion my heart lurks for his affection.
I sit patiently without delay or difficulty to hear his lullaby to me.
My heart as a pariah an outcast of desire, forever I will be a wallflower.
Tears drown my insides remembering his goodbyes multiply, invasion of his lustful infestations.
Left behind with a broken lullaby once again, the record plays.
Deceived by another fantasy, who is this man that haunts me?
He knows just what to say because he knows what I have been missing,
for that love and affection.
I crave a lullaby I will sing this to my grave.
If he could truly love me as he sings, my heart will forever play his beat.
However, I have yet to hear this man speak the words of love to me.
His actions leave me lost with defeat. The words that he breathes simply not meant for me.
My heart will be his beneficiary who holds the key to the woman he will meet.
By the time, I am done with the lullaby the tears will have made the ink subside.
Temporarily insane an illusion these words became.
