My Love is Like a Bird

My love is like an Owl
Knowledgeable and deep and wise
My love is like the Raven
With magic behind its eyes

My love is like an Eagle
Its lineage crowned most high
My love is like a Lark
So swift and scarce and shy

My love is like the Peregrine
Soaring silent above the hill
My love is like the Dove
Spreading peace and good will

My love is like the Stork
Bringing life so fair and bright
My love is like the Sparrow
It’s intuition for life’s fading light

My love is like the Albatross
Floating high on fair winds
My love is like the Crow
The darkened portent that it sends

My love is like the fabled Tern
Crossing continents the status quo
My love is like the Penguin
With its tuxedo in the snow

My love is like the Mynah
Able to sing any song or say
My love is like the Rooster
Heralding each brand new day

But most of all my love is like the Lovebird
Her loving song oft heard
That perfect pair to my person
And the inspiration for these words

Black Widow

She's got a plan
just moved to Florida
one week in the hole
a forced proposal...

maybe if I get a job with insurance;
we'll get married...
then you'll have insurance too!"

a bribe
the spider web is officially constructed
"Charlotte's web"
no...we'll name it
the Black Widow!

I Cannot See You In The Fog

The tides roll in; I do not see them,
As the fog breathes in, obscuring the sun,
Just a moment ago, you were here beside me,
But the fog stole in, and now you’re gone.

In the daylight, we were so very bright,
As diamonds sparkling in the sands of time,
Two pearls together in a single shell,
We left to see what lay beyond.

And somewhere upon our newfound shores,
We let our eyes wonder for a moment's glimpse,
To see if what we shared was true,
And ignored that fog growing ever dense.

Yet sometimes the fog is what we need,
To teach us how to walk alone,
So when our daylight comes breaking through,
It's not the WHERE, for which we care...

But for the WHO is our true home.

So meet me down on the shores of time,
My darling, when the daybreak springs,
Lay your soft head on my wearied chest...
Let the tides roll in and do the rest...

They’ll sweep us back into forever,
That together, forever we shall never loose,
Except again, when a fog rolls in...
And the home we are, is the one we choose.

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

The Pianist

They were invincible
whenever they’re onstage:
piano on the lead
with violin
as his accompaniment.

They toured the cities,
the parks as well;
soft harmonies they played
that all, including men
went envying them—

violin had felt betrayal
from her own bow.
It snapped her strings;
made it sever—
leaving piano out of tune.

Despite his downfall,
piano persisted performing
on stage, but alone—
playing his wife’s
funeral song.

In a dream I saw a lady,a precious little rose
with soft blue eyes that sparkled and a smile so warm it glows
In her I found the universe, complete with moon and stars
and all the rest of heaven, beyond the planet Mars
Where I tasted pure sunlight, saw sounds I never heard
as I held onto a moonbeam, felt the meaning of a word
I had a rainbow wrap around me as I held this tender rose
inside a starlight's twinkle,where love forever grows
Then I knew my prayers were answered, when I saw you in the light
all I had ever dreamed about, stood there in flowing white
As we soared across the universe, you sat my soul aflame
and from now until forever,I will never be the same
I have never held such tenderness, felt a heart so warm and kind
the seed you planted in my soul, now blossoms in my mind!

This woman is the ocean unfathomable
And the airy vault unreachable
Whose word is always rock firm
Whose tears spill her soft soul warm
Her face is my morning sun bright
Her laughter is my evening moonlight

Decree Absolute, Lies

Like any broken vase, the marriage ceased
The door to trust was open, until why,
Signing its disclosure was released
A smudge before the absolute was dry.

Statistics are an ornament for us,
To paint a pretty picture of divorce
'Unreasonable behaviour', then shall thus
Excuse her from unfaithfulness of course.

Complaining with a plastic attitude
She keys a draft, some more uncertain things:
Scratch the surface what was misconstrued.
Twisted lies have cut this puppet's strings.

My Wifi

My Wifi

Has become my own-only wife
No stress no strife
It gives me life
Makes me right
All day and all night
My poetry is becoming bright.
