It’s a mother-in-law’s right, her prerogative
To ‘drop in’ on her son almost any time,
But a mother-in-law should always be prepared
For almost anything she may find.
So, Mother Cready dropped in unannounced;
But as she approached her son’s front door,
Suddenly it opened. “Ta Da! Do you like my happy dress?”
His young wife stood there in her ‘all in all’…nothing more.
“Oh, my word!” Mother Cready exclaimed with surprise.
“Why are you naked? Are you insane?”
Just as surprised, the young wife pulled her inside.
“Please, Mother Cready…if you’ll just let me explain.
You see, when Mac has had a rough day,
When he’s been under a lot of stress,
Sometimes I meet him at the door
With a smile and a kiss in my happy dress.
It always relaxes him and makes him happy,
Then he makes me very happy too.
It works for Mac and me, Mother Cready;
Maybe it would work for you.”
“We’re too old for such.” scoffed Mother Cready.
“Perhaps if we were young like the two of you.”
But, on her way home, she decided
She was definitely going to try it too.
So, she bathed and put on some nice perfume,
Fixed her make-up and her hair.
She was thinking some very sexy thoughts,
But she had to hurry…no time to spare.
She heard her husband’s car in the driveway;
And as he approached their front door,
She threw it open. “Ta Da! Do you like my happy dress?"
She stood there in her ‘all in all’…nothing more.
She saw a little grimace cross his face,
But that was not the worst.
Then he said, “I appreciate your happy dress, my dear;
But maybe you should have ironed it first.”
ALTERNATE LAST VERSE
“Well…your ‘happy dress’ could use some ironing;
But my birthday suit could use some starch.”
He kissed her. “Bet you and I can work it out.”;
And off to bed they marched.

Our Ancestors fought to the death,
Just so we can live a brighter day,
So before you light up that blunt of meth,
Think about what you’re giving away,
It was a glad day in history when Obama rose to victory,
The first black president was all we knew,
Dark skin is in!
Haven’t you heard?
That even in our community,
You can get burned,
It’s a sad day when people would rather stay home and “Crank That Amber Cole”,
Than get up and run to a poll,
In our community,
Rockin’ Luis V is better than having a college degree,
And teen pregnancy is not only a trend,
But the single motherhood that follows should end,
Young girls learn of a wonderful prince to take them away,
Nothing should change thought their mothers prince didn’t stay,
And as the tears fade away,
She grows stronger every day,
In our community,
Fighting is no longer a word,
You argue with someone and shots are heard,
Girls showing places the sun don’t show,
So how do they expect the community to grow?
Where love is a figment of imagination,
Making a young child question her creation,
Young mothers would rather buy the iPhone 5,
Then satisfy her baby’s cries,
While her new man’s eye,
Wander up another girl’s thighs,
In our community,
Where #team dark skin vs #team light skin,
Makes others not love the skin they’re in,
Love, lust, hate, and trust,
Giving a rose on Valentine’s Day is no longer a must,
Where bad is good and good is bad,
Who would think to see their grandmother sad?
Her hurt and pain,
Shows how our community has lost everything her parents fought to gain.

Mother, mother can't you see?
How much are you putting the needle,
Deep inside of my heart?
I know the pain won't go away!
I know you are blind to see the truth!
Pain pain pain,
When will you go away?
Anger, hate & discouragement
Always comes my way!
What am I supposed to do?
I feel alone deep inside,
I feel the empty pressure against my chest,
In a prison of hate,
I am sick of the people who I love,
Betraying me & ruining the trust,
God above who sees your actions,
I hope He will never forgives you,
For you who keep on sin.
One day you will see
Throw my eyes & my pain,
One day you will stop on pretend,
Realize your mistakes,
It will be too late,
I will be gone far away,
I will never come back again!

Hostile Times II
By Nate Spears
Busted love is my Crystal Ball's fortune
My heart hurts in a torturing way
Nothing ever works in my favor
I lower my head and pray
Confessing to God
All I have to give
A 16 year old rebellious daughter
A 13 year old son that’s dead
My father is in prison; so is the one of my two kids
Is this really a way of living?
I didn’t have a choice from the days beginning
Would have a given me a chance
Walls of barriers bearing on us
On this earth we stand
Refusing to let go of this curse
If no bill is signed by Congress
My unemployment runs out next Thursday
Now I contemplate what’s next?
Sex dollars or Creflo's Dollars?
Be an honest woman; or
Be a fool that’s starving?
When pushed to the limit
All governors are discarded.
Hostile Times rains upon us
Other nations joins the honors
The Elite makes me vomit
There’s plenty of resources among us
God have mercy and let it trickle down on us
Rather than become degrading
In this pew
I choose prayer
Becoming Sunday Mornings best
Washing away my pains that become abreast; with my chest
Bringing in a new day,
For a better way
In these hostile times we live in.

Gun fire all around, bombs going off in the distance
It was some of the angry mobs and resistance
Father was the king of SafeHaven a small kingdom
Like all other kingdoms it fell in random
Fire started in the castle
And along with it came a battle
It was a distance memory now because the child has now grew
Many things in this child that made memories stew
My name is Mastrey, a young orphan who was there that night
Mastrey saw her in the distance and her father and mother in his sight
Everyone was loud that night and made all the children hide
But that evening Mastrey saw her mother and father die
She ran into the bushes in such a fright
And evil doers were running around with flashlights
Mastrey remember it as he distracted them
Her eyes was so confused with problems
Mastrey new that it was because of what just occurred
His feelings of what those people did was not awkward
The distraction worked, he went back to were she was
Hiding and very scared she was, he asked her, can you trust me just because?
Her answer that night depended on her lively hood
As Mastrey was their with his hand reaching out to her as he stood
Pulling her up from the ground he looked into her eyes that were SeaBlue
Mastrey had made a life long friend and love, She knew it was true

I wake up with another tear
for I have again, relived the nightmare
will it ever leave me with any way to see
when will I again be able to see my family
the past is forgiven
so why is it still living
my heart was so broken
but soon after it was frozen
let it lie and the past die
for I have a life to live with
but the past is still being relived
how do I stop this past of torture
so I can find my new future

The wind blew events all over the place.
Intense emotions and it gave chase.
Lightning lighting to show us the sky.
People try to sleep and not cry.
Wisping by the wind keeps us awake.
The time trying to sleep the storms take.
Chills in everyone gives all shiver.
The clouds surrounded by moonlight is silver.
Heavenly prayers that the rain will stop.
The flood stopped a car the person in it was a cop.
People have seen such devastation.
The road that people made was week in creation.
Rivers near by was over flowing.
Trees that were there was not showing.
By the hour it claimed many.
My father woke up and did not see any.
Floating by was a boat.
Keeping people above water and a float.
My father kept a canoe.
That some day we would use it, that he knew.
Time to paddle up and down the street.
The rain water kept getting on our seat.
It was so dark after the moon was behind the cloud.
Still the noise of thunder still covered the ears loud.
The smell of moist water never seem to go away.
My brothers seem to still sleep anyway.
My head was bobbing up and down.
I was so tired that I could not hear a sound.
The wind blew back and fourth.
It seems that my mom and dad paddle their worth.
Till all the people we saw with grace.
Help us out with embrace.
The time was so late at night.
Everyone was so sleepy and losing sight.
The fight with the weather was so hectic.
The feelings of energy was electric.
Losing to such natural disaster is hard to understand.
When people working hard to block the river with bags of sand.
With hard workers like my mom and dad.
They make things happen that is not bad.
Rough with weather they experience more than ever.
Leaders they are they are very clever.
From the night light of street lights to the morning glow.
The wind did not stop so.
Bringing in more clouds that ill.
The people who were still tired still had will.
The rush of water and waves blasting push the wall side.
Pushing and the force brought water inside.
The battle of our hour was getting long.
Backup people came to aid us was strong.
Rested they were to keep everyone with hope.
The people stopped the water with the strength of rope.
Heavy rain and loss of homes bring people together.
It is kind of sad that this was the only time to gather.
Chaos comes happiness how true.
This is why we are human that gives us a clue.
It is our nature to keep rain falling.
To know when it is time for our calling.
The winds bring such pain and sorrow.
That is why rain sometimes fallow.

Dropped out of school
At an early age
Lived on the streets
Because, I disgusted my mother
She thought I was a poor example
Of true Christian beliefs
At an early age
She religiously drummed into me
‘blood is thicker than water’
Here I am today confused, lonely and hungry
No one protecting me
No home to go too
Just, peoples eye for an eye,
tooth for a tooth mentality
Praying for the sun to shine
To feel some warmth again!
Sun rays of hope, lighting me up
To live through this darkness without fear
With a heart full of faith
No matter what happens to me, now!
If only I could drink my salty tears
It would sustain me for a lifetime
Your tears are worth nothing, around here
You’re classed as weak and venerable
Only attracting death
Your life worth nothing!
Save me from myself
I am my best friend
I am my worst enemy
My prayers and dreams
Lost in the wind
Blowing around like autumn leaves
The rain washing them away
Down the drain into the sewage
Rolling with the seasons
Year after year
Survival for the fittest!
Surviving on the love
Hidden, inside me
Being my strength and guide
My personal lifeline
In surviving this crazy world
We all live in

Over your head is a shining light,
Oh mother Mary what a blissful sight.
You came to the world to bless us all,
You brought a son to save the world.
You appear to the sick to give them hope,
To bless them and comfort their soul.
So gentle mother Mary, please bless me
And my family in this life’s journey.
A journey of hope that the ever lasting place
Is a better place for us all.
Please mother Mary help the sick,
Heal them with your blessings this is my wish.
I kiss the ground where you walked,
The land of the Cedars that stood so tall.
You are there in every place, and
On our hearts we engraved your face.

You are my love,
my hearts content.
you are my life,
a life ideal.
you are my joy,
and you are my happy.
happiness like no one else can bring.
you are my hopes,
and you are my dreams.
you light up my life.
you are my everything.
you are my fear,
you are my pain,
and you are my anger.
you bring out the best of the worst in me.
you are someone to blame,
someone to hurt,
someone who is no one who deserves the anger inside of me.
you are my child.
A child you should be,
I should love you as God intended.
I wish someday our bond can be mended.
I have made choices, i can not take back.
I can not make up for the motherly lack.
circumstance and situations have put me here,
feeling hopeless and living in fear.
anxiety has stricken me,
I have succumb to my disease.
giving up on what i believe,
I have become someone in need.
I can no longer give my love,
my patience has run dry.
my heart has grown cold,
my eyes can no longer cry.
Forgive me for the mistakes I have made,
forgive me for the pain in your heart,
forgive me for the tears in your eyes.
I too am a child, learning how to become wise.
I love you child of mine

Music is my home,
Written when I am alone.
Nobody is hear to save me as I slash
my wrists and they turn scarlet.
My mother and father walks through the door,
my mother screams and ,
my father seems dazed,
The doctor say if it was not for the fact,
That my heart was not strong i would have survived,
The boy and girl who pushed me to commit sucide,
spits and dance on my grave,
they defile it and call me names,
even though i am dead i will still hear them,
talk and say mean things,
to my mother and father,
They spread rumors that are untrue,
A voice calls out and asks me what
I want to do?
I cry out let me live give me a second chance,
I'll grant you this calls the voice,
The next thing I know I am in a hospital in the intensive care unit,
I try to speak my mother puts her finger to my lips she is crying,
i Had been on the way to the morgue when my eyes open and i started to breathe,
The same bestfriend who i have known all my life has finally shown her jealous side
and called me a witch, and a zombie, or even a creature from hell.
They Took her to the other side of the hospital and put her in the physchartric unit,
The boy went to jail for attempted murder and i knew i had a plan lined all out for me

I cry myself awake
In the middle of the day
Because of a decision I made
Not to spend time with you.
And now everything I am
Is falling apart into pieces;
I feel like I am losing you
Because I am losing myself.

Why am I so selfish?
Why do I live for the wrong things?
I am dying inside
Because I refuse to see the light.
I need to say yes,
But I still haven't learned that yet.
I am a fool,
And I am hurting you.
If I would let go of myself,
I would hold on to you.

For many years... My life has been
Filled with hopelessness
Many things I thought I had enjoyed...
Have left in me... A large and empty void!
Many nights, I would
cry myself to sleep.
Knowing the hole my life was in,
was very, very deep.
Then one day, I called out to God!
I wasn’t sure if he’d listen!
My family, my old church,
I was now missin'.
My family prayed for me for so many years.
I often brought them embarrassment and tears.
God... I tried everything else...
I want to come back to you!
I need you now Jesus! I really do!
Please come into my heart,
and cleanse me within!
Set me free from all addictions and sin!
I know that you will never let go of my hand.
My whole life, on your word,
I shall now stand.
Only you can satisfy the emptiness in my soul!
I am now complete,
satisfied, and made whole!

It was that time again to empty once more,
I was on my Knees on the bathroom floor.
Putting tissue down the Loo making sure nothing stayed afloat,
Then I slid my fingers down deep inside my sore throat.
Trying not to make a sound, Making sure no sick hit the ground,
And even though the taste was so vile I needed to empty till there was no more bile.
I had to be quick but the release felt great,
No-one understood me but I believed this was my fate.
Staring at my reflection, tears would roll down my cheek,
I'd hear the torments in my mind saying how I was such a freak.
The Demons they would say "Look at the state of you,
You are disgusting ,You are a mess, No-one could ever love you".
When looking in a mirror at my body I would cringe,
Then turning desperately to the fridge I'd begin again to Binge.
I would eat so much till I was about to pop,
One more trip to the Loo then I promised myself I would stop.
I'd wish people would leave me be, They just didn't get that....
I had eaten too many calories and I was sick of being Fat!
So I had taken control of my diet, Obsessed with weight and measure,
Punishing myself after every treat, Desserts were no longer a Pleasure.
Over time people started talking about how I had become so thin,
So I pulled the curtains closed and I locked myself in.
Hiding myself away from neighbouring abuse,
I stopped all contact, I became a recluse.
Then a visit from my mother my Angel, who Id avoided for awhile,
Came knocking at my door, Arms open,
Oh I had missed her warming smile.
I looked into my mothers eyes as she turned to me and sighed
"Oh sweetheart what has happened to you,
Your hair is falling out and your bones are showing through".
She placed her arms around me feeling my frail torso".
Then whispered to me gently " Please let your Demons go",
"Everything you are doing is damaging your health",
"You're deteriorating into of me, You're slowly killing yourself".
Turning away she began to cry,
Wiping away the tears falling from her eyes.
She told me how she lost her best friend to the very deadly disease.
I wrapped my arms around her, Comforting her as she grieves.
Seeing the hurt upon my mothers face,
The heartache I was causing her, The shame and the disgrace.
"Mum" I said "I will fight my Demons and make myself strong",
"I realise now what Ive been doing Is dangerous and wrong".
"Getting back to full health will take a long long time,
But with you and my family and friends I know Im gonna be just fine".
So Here I am Today at this Time and on this Date.
I am Making my Illness History and re-creating my fate.
Big Thankyou to my family and friends for all of your support.
I know now time is too precious to waste and our life on Earth is short.x

I do not know?
I never realized words, they were my remedy
From adolescent years, on a pen and paper flowing
Once I had a notebook, disappeared without me knowing
Scared of the world, finding out what I was doing
Written scars matching, the ones close to my veins
Many pages that were torn, so many tears cried in vain
Turning wet pages, I tore up quite a few
When it got so real, To God I pleaded to
Feeling unanswered, questioning our Holy Master
In the mist of my depression, I could hear the Devils laughter
Finding my reflection, I knew I had it in me
Looking at the lessons, this life was giving to me
Taking it upon myself, Those things I began changing
Being motivated by a life, In meeting my first baby
Leaving it to my strength, I got up and tried again
Looking down at my wrist, I began to repent
Picking up a Pen and Paper, with my thoughts time spent
Gaining strength as my ink bled, The Devil was Hella bent
Giving it all to the Lord, For this gift thats Heaven sent
Till this day transforming, those things I do not regret

Everyone in the world thinks babies and kids have no struggles we are wrong.
We forget the hardest times of our lives is when we were infant our hearts beat a song.
When we were hungry we would cry, little hands could not grab anything that lye.
We had help to hold our bottles and we felt so helpless in our everyday struggles.
Our eyes did not open till the time that we were able we saw everything huge in size.
It made our heart throb fast and nothing made sense for all the words were gurgles.
The little ears we had we did stress with sound so loud and so unknown made us cry.
The fathers and mothers with kind word almost calmed us while they whispered.
They held us with fear, we had fear just knowing that we could not handle stress alone.
We grabbed things and we just wanted to hear the heart beat of our mom and dad.
That was the only thing in our minds that made us calm and glad.
The first touch of rough skin and strong hands were most comforting, yet scary at once.
Trust gradually grew when whipped our mess and hind ends, which were still scary.
To the large people out there the mind of a child is so simple but they still struggle.
They still need food, love and security that is all they need to grow.
To their lives is what they cling and no one is there to protect them from sorrow.
There are less fortunate kids that never get to hear their mothers and fathers hearts.
They soon empathize with everything around them with an emotion that struggles.
When sleeping on our own we cannot defend ourselves so we have fears.
That's why we cry nightly to sigh relief, we get exhausted and we run out of tears.
Remember the times you seen a child fall down their first step or bump into things.
It is scary when knowledge is lacking and get into things, which are a signs of struggles.
Children is future, it is nice to just watch them study, play and learn who they are.
Babies and Kids smiling, playing loud, and just sitting, they are still people they struggle.

Words Words can make you hurt, Words can make you cry. Words can make you laugh,
Words can make you try. Words can change you and Words can make act wrong. Words
can hurt others. But words that hurt are nothing new. Words with action is. Because some
actions can hurt and make pain come. Some actions can make you feel happy and loved.
Some actions can get you down the wrong road. But whatever happens, with words or
actions Remember that friends and people have feelings Try listening to them Friends can
make you laugh when your sad. They can catch you when you fall. No friend lets you die Or
leaves you in a dark corner to cry. Friends are angels from above. They are there for you.
So if their is one thing from this that you remember is should be this, Don't say your my
friend one moment, Then hurt me and leave me to die the next.

The midday sun scorches her back
Sweat seeps through her feeble body
As her nerves carry messages from her brain
To make her muscles cooperate
So she could stand and move around
Inside her body a helpless guest with very special needs
Hanging head downwards between cliffs of her bone
Shot with delicate spasms
With hair painted upon his skull
The wretched visitor did not come out until it was ready
The stress of delivery became more and more
In only nine months the single fertilized cell
became a fully developed baby.
An amazingly complex organization of some billions of cells
Undeterred, she kept on pushing relentlessly but fatigued
The midwife held some materials attached to a dinner-plate-size device
Shouting: Push! Push! Push!
Swinging hand to and from across the deep hole
Dropping to different directions and starts digging
With urgent jabs the small head penetrates the hard earth.
Could it be a female?
Could it be a male?
As the hole deepens, eyes were strained for a hint
Suddenly, ears quicken as the high-pitched whistle
Descends to a guttural clicking noise—A sure sign
that the visitor has arrived
After the production, how tired she was!
Behold, I shall celebrate this diligent producer
For she has done the toughest job a woman could do
In pain she produced her replica
In joy should she reap the reward
Sweet mother, will I ever forget you?

Ashes Of Youth, Its Winsome Colors Gone
Time had came, last night of dear life had called
ashes of youth, its winsome colors gone.
Left, shades of joyful life, all it enthralled
leaving then, no longer could she hang on.
Stood not, power to cease chiming clocks ticks
nor grant more sweet days of touching them all.
At last slow motion came, driving all clicks
Then last shadow began destiny's call.
Prayers uttered had no true, saving effect
dying-veil of darkness had embraced her.
Fate, its savage master sent to collect
was done in a blink, soul's final transfer.
Smiling, Fate winked at we few that remained
Message, when touched your life too, will be drained.

Note: Poem was written on Death.... my mother's..
“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and—in spite of True Romance magazines—we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely—at least, not all the time—but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

Why do tears caress your soft face so frequently?
Why is it that when you cry and let out a large scream,
Which resonates from deep in your heart do you feel relief?
Why can you not find the arms of a mother or a lover who can give you the same relief as that scream? Where you born to wonder alone?
A lone being that has given all
Only to find that you have given a little too much and are now left bare.
No-one had requested that you commit to such a feat;
No-one had expected you to give it all
How can you not blame yourself when you find that you have nothing left?
When you find that all has been given and no-one is willing to share?
The cry is God given
When a child cries their protector responds and tries to put right.
The cry is not to be left unattended.
When you become of age however your protectors’ take on different forms,
A mother becomes a lover
And your tears are now for yourself.
Where are your protectors?
You frantically search for them but only find mocking…
You are of age now and your cries will be left unattended.

One big happy said fairytale
Take the pain and no gain
Take the slights and not retribution
Take it all in without an out.
Exploding from the inside out
In silence, crying, hurting, writhing in pain and misery
Never knowing what it’s like to be just okay
Never knowing what it’s like to have love unconditional
Hated and revered
Don’t show them the pain
They don’t understand,
You are the one that is in wrong.
Take it all
Deal with it
Live with it
It’s your fault he’s like this
You carried him
You made him the way he is.
Deal with the pain and suffering
Deal with the stress and the dirty looks
It’s always your fault
No one else’s
You should know that by now.
Take you punishment and like it
God’s listening but this is his plan
Pain and suffering for those that screw up
No love for those that dare to be of a different mold.
No salvation for the wicked souls of men
Shut it up
Swallow it down
No one cares
No one’s around
No tears will make a difference
No whining will help the cause
No yelling will change people’s minds
No matter what you do you won’t be accepted
Be yourself no one else
If they don’t like to hell with them
To hell with you and your self loathing

I do not know?
You dont know what stress is until,
you have a headache & have to take a pill.
Stress is kids running around screaming,
watching the glare from the tv beaming.
Wondering what to make for dinner,
or if the kids will call it a winner?
Looking for all their socks with no mates,
asking where is mommy's cd case?
Trying to feed the cat, dog, & fish,
praying that the dishes were done, I wish!
Hopeing that one day things will change,
looking at the living room - time to rearrange.
Never knowing whats to come,
yelling at the kids look out mommy's burning the buns!
Praying that for the kids sake you'll never be poor,
here we go again - off to the grocery store.
Laundry stacks up higher and higher,
kids are fighting -"No mommy she's the liar!"
Wondering how your gonna pay the bills,
and have enough money to get the kids' pills.
But at the end of the day its all for the best,
watching four little faces getting ready to rest.
Knowing that there are many more stressers along the way,
but in the back of your mind you look forward for each day.
You can deal with it as long as you try,
just don't ever doubt yourself or ask yourself why!!!

Tax me because I'm a woman
Tax me because I bleed
Make me pay more tax than men
Pay for their unused seed
My life is hard enough
Without taxing my menstrual flow
A monthly period of blood
A period of mess below
Is a towel a luxury?
According to government it is
But it only affects the Her's
It don't affect the His
What happens when I have no means or cash?
To pay this unequal uneven tax
When I can't afford a tampon or pad
These are everyday facts
This is without the sadness of PMT or PMS
Man has no idea of the pain or the bloody stress
Why would you tax a woman just for being her?
How do you tax a towel that woman is forced to wear?
This taxation is way out of line, unjust and morally wrong
Its time to end this crippling tax
Menstruation's been exploited way too long!
