I woke last night, with a heavy heart,
miles away, and world's apart,

sensing you... sensing you..

All through the night, and into morn,
headless fears and shadows form,

so forlorn... so forlorn..

Feeling scared, and knowing why,
seeing nightmares in your eyes,

over there... over there..

Images of ruthless foes,
dressed in black, from head to toe.

Jagged blade, held to your breast,
evil serpent, puffs his chest.

my only son... my only son.

Hide my soul and blind my eyes!
Precious son, I hear your cries.

Brutal boots, and shattered bones,
taunting jeers, and heavy stones.

A thousand lashes to your flesh,
hidden under prison dress.

Gagged and bound, they drag you out,
Infidel! they cruelly shout.

Forced to kneel; so hate will rise!
Dagger falls..... alone he dies.

A life of honor, and good cheer,
taken from you, with a sneer.

Heart of gold; at heaven's gate,
my precious son, in glory waits....

Just like a child I toss pebbles in the stream Each pebble is a wish Every ripple is my dream I dream of running freely my face against the wind Hear it's million voices and the cicadas sing. I dream of climbing treetops to a majestic world a world of happy faces where everyone 's a friend. I dream of sharing cookies with those we' ve made come poor I dream to share hot milk where we've created war. Just like a child I wait for falling raindrops to cleanse away dry mud Mud that turned in mountains of an untraveled path. Mud molding the borders so innocent can't pass Why do we refuse them when they are one of us ? Just like a child I forget the bruises all over my knees I dance into the moonlight along with flowing leaves. I return to my place with a kite still soaring high but cannot lay in my bed while others sleep outside. How can I be hopeful when innocence 's not pure When lonely tears are prescribed treatments without cure Just like a child I toss pebbles in the stream Each pebble is a wish Every ripple is my dream .
Dedicated to the men, women , and children , leaving their countries, , their homes, trying to find a safe place to stay, to escape war , yet still behind boarders . P.S - When I say We , I mean it - For our countries, our politicians, and our voices - We can do better.

Leaving for a year
To nightmare and fear
He came to say goodbye
Or at least to try.

I did not speak,
Didn’t open my eyes,
An unknown fear
Had me paralyzed.

My Father full-blown,
A force in uniform
Is memory that haunts,
Fulfilling neither’s wants.

My pretend sleep
Him standing above.
We should have spoke,
Held and shown love.

I only peaked
At my Father’s face.
This sadness won’t leave.
Still I crave embrace.

Did he know,
Did he realize,
I was alert
Behind closed eyes?
Did Dad also regret
What I cannot forget?

I'm aware that
They'll dare me to surrender when my burner's unkindled
And the barrel is empty
Since their whiskey is missing

But it's in our blood and baby it's trickling and
We're on a roll

I heard from her and her merciless curves
That the curse'll come first
Just 'fore the rebirth
It's a thought that gets lost when you pitch it with a cross
O'er a plate made of moss so

I'll name it Shell from Sawed-Off
As I paint Hell from Far-Off

Like the Seraphim cherishing the heart
Who can't turn from the art
Like embarrassing a perishing enemy
Yeah, one last taunt

When told to listen as though it'd fix it
Something went missing
Although I didn't miss it
A relation on a ship quite distant and
Slightly free
Where the ocean switched and the compass died instantly

Oh it's in our blood, baby we're tricky so now
Out that ship has sailed

Like the Seraphim cherishing the shark
Who can flip 'round the ark
Like embarrassing a perishing enemy
Yeah, one last taunt

And our sweat is slightly trickling
A whiskey business, the highest feeling
And the pressure is highly tricky
A risky business, a godly healing

In this town is where I was born...
I use to play in these fields of corn...
In this place is where I use to sing with my mom...
We use to stay awake till down...

The walls of this house has been crushed and the windows has been broken...
The enemies behind these walls are watching us they are stalking...
This place is where sand storm begun...
This place is where people use to come, and now It's where they run from...

It's the start of a destructive life... It's a long way for us to drive...
Maybe I'll never be able to play, cause the sand storm has blown this wish a way...
This sand storm is destroying my soul...I have no one , cause the sand storm did vanish them all...

So I go back again to that place to pick up the memories of these broken walls ...
I've closed my eyes to remember, I've remembered when I use to play with my doll's...
When I'm going to be free from this sand storm ?
When I'm going to get back to my lovely home?
When I'm going to eat my mom muffins?
I think that I'll die before that happens...
I think that I won't see the light , cause I'll be dead in my coffin...

Sand storm you can blow me now ...come on I don't care where, when or how. ..
I think that you've won this game ... I've lost so you can put on me the blame...
Saying goodbye to you such a shame but , I hope to never see you again...

(SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE 1917)

It’s just another starry night
all is at peace before the storm,
Yet so afraid am I, of the impending summer’s day
now the shadows begin to form.

Many silhouettes create memories
those in childhood verdant pastures aspire,
yet amongst this valley of planted souls
gives one many reasons to suspire.

I see a subtle portrait of mankind
an apparition suspended from the sky,
in waves of committed butchery
to fill one’s saddened eye.

Are they not also human?
those that dance between the lead,
like me, have they a reason to love
those that advance amongst the dead.

Yet still they come uninvited
like the surf on an inhibited beach,
same God! Same belief!
Our ascendancy, our spirit to breach!

Yet still, I keep on making plans for the morrow
my love I know soon to be all alone.
Oh! How I wish my finger tips to touch her face,
before one rescinds this life, this birthright loan!

He walked in with a load on his shoulder
And a twenty pound pain in his heart
With the tears in his eyes he looked older
And he didn't even know where to start

He spoke of wartime memories
And the injuries that he'd sustained
Said sometimes he wished he'd never come home
Cause that's where he left all his pain

Some wounds never heal
Some loves never part
When she said it was over and goodbye
That's when his world fell apart

In that letter he got on the front lines
It said I'm sorry I found someone new
I can't go on in fear and not knowing
All the sleepless nights I've worried bout you

Some wounds never heal
Sometimes true love parts
Injuries of the flesh can be healed
Unlike those of the heart

                                          A war you can win

                                          He says the words,
                                                   and
                                                 he feels
                                                he's right

                                          he says the words,
                                                    that
                                             stab the heart

                                            He doesn't care,
                                                   about
                                            hurting feelings

                                            He smugly says,
                                                  he just
                                               plays a part

                                                 He plays
                                                   it cool
                                                  thinking
                                              he's so clever

                                                     but,
                                             he's just a fool
                                                    fooling
                                                 only a fool

                                               A stupid man
                                                    who'd
                                         say anything for fame

                                              With a tongue
                                                    that is
                                                oh, so cruel

                                                   Chorus
                                       He say's that the tongue
                                                    really
                                           can't hurt anyone

                                         and all of us should
                                        just grow thicker skin

                                          but, we both know
                                            that cruel words
                                                can be a sin

                                       and this is a war
                                               he can't win

This is a war you can win!

                                            So next time that
                                         you hear him speaking

with his words that stab like a sword

                                             You can protect
                                      your heart and your mind

Refuse to give him your time

                                        When people are cruel
with the words that they use

Its rightly called a verbal abuse

So take a stand against this kind of sin

cause this is a war you can win!

Yes, this is a war you can win!

                                             Chorus repeat

When you have downfall on your mind chaos is all a mind can find, its time to change all the things you had held so deep inside, they cause rage, your trapped in while your caught up in the cage of life an easy life with out strife, no more pain or struggle inside a bubble and you want to make it burst, but first things first you know the times that come will be the worst, because its change you want, and you will taunt the ones who set the curse. They say if you want to change a little then its your choice, but if you want to change a lot they must first hear your voice, loud enough for all to hear, listen and all of the problems soon disappear, just know that the world can be a bleak one and people dont always listen so you cannot only speak once, so when the end is near you can look back at the goodtimes throughout all the years think about all the times and cheer, and thank god you lived this long and your still here. Be remembered only for the words you spoke, for you do not want to be invisioned inside a cloud of smoke, watch as they listen when you start to feel the choke on the thoughts about your life,a bad life, a black life, envoloped in fear you were hoping that the man would hear, and maybe take a listen, to diamonds in your mind as you watch them glisten. finally move to a position, and open your ears and let your mind be clear, and hear the wisdom spoken from the person on the otherside of the mirror, society sobriety with out a clue just sit and ponder at the deepest thoughts that are revealed in you...

The sun does rise
Over silver ships sailing in the sky
Rain on down on our parade
In a concrete jungle
The kids come out to play
Masked by this dreadful masquerade

A cosmic dance where stars collide
The kids and parents run to hide
Shelter from the enemy above
Who light up the sky with lightning bugs

The land is dark and the sky is black
Mothers pray the birds will not come back
Be it by barren land or vicious sea
Lord just hear our plea

The sun does rise
Over silver ships sailing in the sky
Rain on down on our parade
In a concrete jungle
The kids come out to play
Masked by this dreadful masquerade

The walking man walks with no place to go,
Head tucked down with his eyes lookin' low.
We gotta reach out
We gotta hold his hand
We gotta reach out
To the walking man

He's seen it all, lived the wars out there.
Now he's blowing around like a leaf in the air.
We gotta reach out
We gotta hold his hand
We gotta reach out
To the walking man

Walking man don't mean no harm he don't mean to lie.
He's just one careless face from a way to die, a way to fly, to say goodbye…..

So it's you and me and the walking man makes three;
Such a better number to be.

He's tired and warn like a piece of coal,
But he could light the city with the light in his soul.
We gotta reach out
We gotta hold his hand
We gotta reach out
To the walking man

Walking man don't mean no harm he don't mean to lie.
He's just one careless face from a way to die, a way to fly, to say goodbye…..

Because it's you an me and the walking man makes three;
Such a better number to be

She wears a metal bracelet, oh, so proudly,
With a POW’s name upon her arm.
She earns her living working in an office,
Typing letters and filing all those forms.

The girls down at work, they tend to gossip,
They talk about her, but not in an unkind way.
But all the same, sometimes it gets too personal…
On the coffee-break, you ought to hear what the girls say.

Welcome home, sister, tell us about Vietnam,
Welcome home, sister, tell us all about it, if you can—

Now what possessed a girl like you to go over there?
Were you running from yourself?—that’s what we heard.
Did you go for the thrills, did you go for the men, did you like those uniforms?
To carry it on this long, it seems absurd.

Yes, I played Country music for the G.I.’s,
I made that USO club tour scene.
And I rode with body bags in the helicopters…
And I saw a night-club blown to smithereens.

And yes, I go to D.C. on vacation,
I spend a lot of time beside that cold, black wall.
I recognize some names upon the surface…
Sometimes it feels just like I know them all.

Let the Deicide commence.

You're a voyeur at best!
Your vampiric heart is beating out of your chest!
And you have slayed the ones whom would love you for anything less
Ready to consume the final fragments of innocence,
And for you there is no forgiveness,
On your knees pleading, screaming to a tyrant in the skies;
The father of lies.

I will never be enslaved in your superiority
The people agree: jaded of your false dichotomies.
Know: I will be whomever nature intends to be
Apollo and I will share our dreams,
and you will be forced to see
your failure!

I know who you are...
Readily the first to present your scars
Chained by some despot or mental czar
An emotional homunculus in your mind, behind bars
Reluctant to escape - even when proven fake
Your demented mind - depths no one will penetrate!

...And you see me suffering
Not caring of any casualties
Just as long you recieve your safeguard of sympathy
So very wary of the masses and their Anarchy; Liberious ways

Solipsist - Is there no one you can see?
Even if she was presented burning?
Solipsist - Is there no one you can believe?
Even if Sophia was screaming?
Solipsist - Know you have killed and abused me
Imprisoned in your own personal reality

Memorial Day 2 “All gave some, Some gave all” Written: by Tom Wright 2016 Today, we memorialize our soldier’s who lie at rest, Many left families, perhaps some, with wife and child. Facing life’s challenges they gave country their best, And for a period of enlistment would become exiled. They chose to represent our country and its flag, Some paid the supreme price for our freedom of choice. Some had their awaited homecoming via a body bag, And today from heavens portals let the angels rejoice. Today, I give thanks to the unselfish Veterans for their service, Those who stood in the gap as defenders of what we hold dear, Our freedom; and to my brother Master Sergeant Joe D Wright who served 4 tours with honor in Vietnam; Tom

Remember when we could still stand
And gaze upon some virgin land
And appreciate the beauties of the Earth?
Remember when the flowers bloomed in May,
And how we lived, from day to day
When the little things still had intrinsic worth?
Remember when there were no fears out there beyond the fence?
Remember when we still had common sense?

But now it seems so far away
Though it happened only yesterday
The tremor's still a-shaking in my heart.
And now there's just a stoneage silence
Born of but a moment's violence
Standing sentry in a landscape torn apart.

And the heat came down like a mountain falling in the sea
And the sky lit up like a thousand suns
Ten million souls cried in agony
Hung in the air, then faded out as one.

Sorry, don't like to steal you sleep, my dears
Didn't mean to probe your deepest, darkest fears.
But I keep having this terrible dream, you see
You can't imagine how it makes me feel
And when I wake, draw close to me
And tell me, was it really real?

Remember when things didn't seem
So pointless and far gone extreme
And we could let the children play outside?
Remember when the Grand Alliance
Worked so hard for world compliance
And how they finally made us go and hide?
Remember when the world that was
Was still a place for having dreams
How strange the thought of that now seems.

But now it seems so long ago
A million miles from what we know
The Final Crime committed now at last.
So now it's all a weary show
As on and on and on we go
Our living time is now - the Past's the Past.

May life bless you with real freedom,
Keep enjoyment as your place,
May you find your own confidence,
From your education and your space;
May you entertain discernment,
Whilst fulfilling your desires,
And may platitude be rescinded,
By real love in your eyes.

May life be all it can be,
May your realities come from your dreams,
May your work become your eulogy,
And may your identity give your memes.

May you receive more than you give,
And see reason when there's none,
May your friends light your inside,
May you give hope to those with one;
May you save the exploited from oppression,
By making despair to you most personal,
And may equality be the standard,
For your repudiation of its dismissal.

May life be all it can be,
May your realities come from your dreams,
May your work become your eulogy,
And may your identity give your memes.

May you always uphold justice,
Even in dark and uncertain times,
When faced with honest requests,
And its unsettled times sometimes;
May you do what’s right no problem,
Not questioning the strain,
Nor grumbling about the consequences,
Of morality’s devoted love train.

May life be all it can be,
May your realities come from your dreams,
May your work become your eulogy,
And may your identity give your memes.

May your diamond be stalwart honour,
For war heroes old and injured,
Tormented by battlefields and sights,
Of the mangled and beleaguered;
May you testify to fact and truth,
And publish what you know;
And may reason be your sociology,
To dictatorial governments overthrow.

May life be all....

May you respect others in esteem,
For kindness and achievement,
May you follow those you understand,
As beautiful in accomplishment;
May you undertake endeavours,
Which ramify the other unstudied,
By embracing love and laughter,
As whispers of grace embodied.

May life be all...

May you always say what’s inside,
Whilst giving other people a chance,
Trusting them with your memories,
That history upon which you cannot glance;
May you always speak your mind,
To make rationality your guide,
And in dignity confide and correct,
To let the delinquent within you abide.

May life be all...

May your philosophies be trophied,
As a garland by the lonely,
And may your way be warmly accepted,
Without negotiation or apology;
May righteousness be your hallmark,
And caring thought your attribution,
And may you prevail generally as a good person,
Bringing light where there’s intrusion.

War is about
forms of revenge
fear and hate
wasted energy
war has been fought
for centuries
man has been
fighting for things
clinging to things
not realizing
what kind of things
to cling to
we understand
the need for peace
yet we cannot
find peace’s path
imagine
there’s no war
there would be
no sadness
heart broken mothers
weeping wives
lost children
war destroys life
peace embraces
with each breath
there is security
without thirst
only fulfillment

I wish you were here with me each day
when the birds announce the arrival of dawn
I wish you were here with me at night
when the stars twinkle and moon shines through
There has never been a time you were not part of my life
My heart feels empty when your not here by my side
Without you here with me my soul knows no rest
It's solemn in the morning and throughout each passing day
I miss you more when daylight slowly fades away.

I appreciate the things that you do more than you know
We need each other like springtime blooms, that grow
In the rain and in the sunshine, all day long.
We've laughed and cried together, through good & bad times
Sometimes now while your away, I get so overwhelmed
It gives me great comfort in knowing this agony will pass
One thought that appeases me, is what I know for sure
You'll take me in your loving arms and I could not ask for more.

I know that even though you are away from me for now
Our love still endures brightly though from afar.
Two hearts bound together, that can't be pulled apart
The journeys we take in our lives, forever to last
Can't be erased just by you're going over there and my love
When you return back to me again one day soon
We'll enjoy lovely sunrises and sunsets once more
So come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned.
Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings,
Forever, in Never Never Land."

I got mad. Didn't know how to use my energy. So I made this song on the piano. I want to sing it with my brother when he's better. I hope he does get better soon.

   SARAJEVO the curse
The shadows have been cast our way
both dark and bleak and black and gray
to play upon each foolish mind
no one can reach or ever find
where we have been and where we'll stay

in search of truth that is not there
although we feel it everywhere
illusive as our last nights dream
where nothing's quite as it would seem
and so we only sit and stare

out dirty windows to our cold
and world of death not growing old
nor recognizing truth flows by
down in our River, where we die
it's all our story, never told.

Some try to make some sense of it
the love we've known still hurts a bit
though time has eased the flowing tears
our pain goes on for years and years
and we will not get over it.

The boots moved slowly,
Crunching sun-baked clay.
A hazy wind down alleyways,
It moves with moans
Then whistles softly,
Quickly gone.

A child stands in a doorway
Pulling something from his robe.
He keys in certain numbers,
Only doing as he's told.

He waits, then hears a bomb
As it explodes.
A helmet lands and bounces
Near his feet.
He shrugs. then merges with a
crowded street.

There’s a fury on the waves
A madness taking place
Fueled by the blood
Of weary wage slaves

And they taught us how to hate
In a hi tech kind of way
Made us meat puppets
For the wars they wage

In a playground, running round
In a playground, being clowns
Weren’t we once kids
Just kicking a ball?
Laughing ‘bout everything
Nothing at all

In a playground, ‘neath the sun
In a playground, having fun
Weren’t we once kids
Thought war is a game?
Fall over dead
And jump up again

(Hey, hey, what do you want to say?}

Don’t want to lose my legs
In defense of larceny
The banksters stealing billions
From the national Treasury

Don’t want to take a bullet
Left coughing up blood
For your right to a lap dance
At some faraway club

Don’t want to suck my meals
Through a thin feeding tube
On behalf of profiteers
Dealing addicts their crude

Don’t want to wheeze harshly
Hooked to a machine
In the service of ingrates
And all that’s obscene

Don’t want to suffer flashbacks
Those nightmarish screams
While billionaires lullaby
To private jet dreams

Nobody’s tool, nobody’s fool.
NO!!!!

In a world so long ago
In a world we used to know
Weren’t we once kids?
Who sang funny songs
No thoughts of torture
Phosphorous bombs

In a world so long ago
In a world we used to know
Weren’t we once kids?
Who rode on our bikes
Vampires scared us
Not nuclear strikes

(Hey, hey, what do you want to say?)

There’s a fury on the waves
A madness taking place
Fueled by the blood
Of weary wage slaves

There’s a world of growing horror
Where a playground stood before
And it ‘s time to stop
This lunatic war

There’s a world of growing horror
Where a playground stood before
And it’s time to stop
This murderous war

There’s a world of growing horror
Where a playground stood before
And It’s time to stop
This sickening war

There’s a world of growing horror
Where a playground stood before
And it’s time to stop
This bloody awful war

Let’s bring back our playground
Stop this war
Let’s restore our playground
Stop this war…

Yes, it’s time
(yes it’s time)

Time to STOP THIS WAR!

The Tal-Dareem are fighting-mad;
They've realized they've just been had.
Expect soon Zealots and Stalkers,
Immortals and those "cliff walkers".
Zerg Hydralisks are assembling just out of range,
Supported by Roaches, Infestors, Banelings,…
The Mutalisks are hovering beyond our turrets,
Brutalisks are moving—it’s looking quite desperate.
What matter's most: who'll be standing last,
So let's hit 'em hard and hit 'em fast.

There’s a silver lining for each “end of the world”:
My shift’s almost done and my Siege Tank’s been rebuilt.
I could spend my last hours paralyzed in fright;
But no, I got a date with that cute medic tonight.
Protoss Carriers and Voids will fill the sky,
And Dark Templars may be sneakin' by.
Double the turrets, add more bunkers--
Fill them with Marines and Marauders.
What matters most: who's standing last,
So hit 'em hard and hit 'em fast!

I took several stim-packs off a dead Marine,
And I’ll take a few jolts if she gives me the green.
So all those bug-eyed-monsters better stay out of sight…
Better not mess with me and my Medic tonight.
So we’re all out of minerals, almost out of Vespene.
We’re training our last Marauders, building our last Viking.
But if our Ghosts and Banshees hit the Zerg and Protoss just right,
I might still be around for my Medic tonight.

Got a date with that blue-eyed young medic tonight.
You know, the one that I’ve had for months in my sights.
If my Siege Tank’s a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’.
Got a date with that pretty sweet medic tonight.
Jim Raynor's Raiders will soon be back;
Load your ammo, get ready to counter-attack!
So train more Reapers for rear missions:
Sneak around back, take out their pylons.
Make sure we're the ones left standing last.
Just keep hitting 'em hard and hitting 'em fast.

The world is turning upside down
Population exploding out of bound
Babies crying from starvation
Too late to stop impending devastation

The world is turning upside down
Pollution in the air and ground
Forests dying, losing soil
Fish are floating covered in oil

The world is turning upside down
Nuclear weapons ready to pound
Chemical dust, biological weapons too
Designed to kill me and you

The world is turning upside down
Countries and religious wars around
Dictators will not step down
Until we bury them in the ground

The world is turning upside down
Corruption and money abound
Politicans, banks, companies and all
Seeing how much they can score

The world is turning upside down
Crime everywhere is found
Thieves, rapists, killers and all
Be sure to lock your front door

The world is turning upside down
New strains of viruses being found
Ebola, HIV and Hepatitis D
Hard to contain, moving free

The world is turning upside down
Drugs a plenty, dealt underground
Ecstacy, Mull, Crack and Smack
Our kids will end up in a sack

The world is turning upside down
fast food, no cooking sound
Hamburgers, Pizzas, hot dogs and fries
Fish and chips, and mutton pies

The world is turning upside down
The world is turning upside down
The world is turning upside down
Can the Internet twist it around?

I was just a little girl when he went to Vietnam
Some went freely, other's were sent by someone called Uncle Sam
Some men ran to Canada, other's Mexico
Some were just to proud to run, like he, they had to go
To fight a war in which it really wasn't even our place
Only to come back home to find heartbreak and disgrace
Heartaches for their broken homes and lives that had gone awry
Is it any wonder that these men break down and cry?
They cry for all the time they've lost fighting in this war
We'll never know how much it's cost, nor even how much more
They'll have to suffer, day by day, for fighting so we wouldn't have to
These men faced our worse nightmares and that's how we said "thank you"?
They never got a waving banner, no ticker-tape parade
No "welcome home son", nor "job well done", no form of accolade
These were our fathers, husbands, sons, our classmates and our friends
For us this war is over, for them it never ends
I'm sorry, but to me it's personal, my dad went over there
I saw and felt what he went through and to say it wasn't fair
Is the biggest understatement of the century
They fought, they feared, they even died
so you and I could stay free
Now my sons are overseas, fighting for me and you
Please God, don't send them home to me
in a box draped in red, white, and blue.

On that day we were all the same, we didn't know there faces, we didn't know
there names.
There voices we heard crying all around the world, someones loving father,
someones little girl.
On that day we were called to lead a better life, for that someones father, for that
someones wife.
The list of souls read from above before it came below why it was and why it is the
answer no one knows.
Through the pain we have learned lessons great and small, life, love, and happiness
are precious cherish them all.
With grace we all go on, but never will we forget that all of these beautiful things
can fade so very quick.
On that day we wondered, on that day we cryed, on that day we asked ourselves
what kind of man am I?
Mothers held there children for so long and oh so tight, why did these people have
to go this was not there fight.
We hope and pray for all those names, and the ones they left behind they gave
their life for a question the answer we must find.

Rumor has it we were never even friends
Was it something that I said?
The call to arms begins
once negotiations end
If you surrender, must I turn the other cheek
to seek forgiveness on my own?
Begging, pleading
I tread the press alone
shouldering this burden stone
Still trying to forget
each moment you regret
Why can’t we just get along?
Don’t you tell me where I belong
Rumor has it we were never even friends
Was it something that I said?
Begging, pleading, trying to forget

I fell in battle, sword in hand,
Invading someone else’s land.
Then I saw her, and she reached down,
To escort me from the battleground.
I’d let her take me anywhere,
With her winged helmet and braided hair.

She had me stand ‘neath Odin’s throne,
Where each warrior must stand alone.
One-eyed Odin judged me to be
Worthy to serve in his last army….
Daily killed and resurrected--
(Not quite the afterlife expected!)

Samurais taught me to sword-fight.
I learned spear and shield from a Hoplite.
Vikings taught me the battle axe,
And the Persians taught me sneak attacks.
We die each day and then come back,
Always practicing for Ragnorak.

She brings me mead, my Valkyrie,
And sometimes at night she favors me.
Since she’s nearby, it’s just as well--
This isn’t Heaven, but not quite Hell.
We’ll fight and sing to the war drums,
Waiting the day that Ragnorak comes.

(Chorus)
Our days are spent in miseries,
But at night we have the Valkyries.
Riposte and lunge, thrust and parry;
That’s all we do in Odin’s army.

The Undisputed

I usually prevail when mostly other have doubts,

as my hostel rival friends taunt, boo and shout,

when they know my mind is focus on that title bout.

I took the stubborn champ to the limit with a reserve

of deadly impact of fresh crushing blows therefore

had the ruthless undefeated champ dazed, shocked,

and lay resting looking at my dancing toes as

I exit to go ending the big show.

I happen upon a veteran, once,
An old man
With a four-sprang cane
And war tales
Stretched like China wall.
This event transpired in very recent past.
The man turned out to be pterodactyl
And flew away.
I fell upon a boy, once,
A once child soldier,
A hero
Released
From youth and life.
Oh, how time has changed.
Men are taught to bicker,
Children are trained to fight.
