The Sea of My Life
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The heaving waves are rising
Each foaming at the crest
For them there is no rest
They go to any length
To give a show of strength.
		It’s the sea of my life where no mercy is shown
		Dangers are hiding in corners unknown.
		I stand for my freedom; will not be a slave.
                It’s time to be counted. It’s time to be brave.
For me this is the moment
To save my place on earth
To prove what I am worth
Because I’m in the right
I will put up a fight.
		It’s the sea of my life where no mercy is shown
		Dangers are hiding in corners unknown.
		I stand for my freedom; will not be a slave.
                It’s time to be counted. It’s time to be brave.
Let the water keep on turning
Let it rage and swirl and pound
For tomorrow when it’s dawning
It will die without a sound.
		It’s the sea of my life where no mercy is shown
		Dangers are hiding in corners unknown.
		I stand for my freedom; will not be a slave.
                It’s time to be counted. It’s time to be brave.
                It’s the sea of my life where no mercy is shown
                Dangers are hiding; I face them alone.
                I stand for my freedom and fight what is wrong.
                It’s time to be daring. It’s time to be strong.
Love me in Black and White musical intro From the keys of your heart a melody rolled back the night illuminated the sky with its symphony of lights and fired new stars in the firmament, each a budding soul, a firework of colors spun within the black and white keys of your heart. lyric /song (0:30 / 2:18) If you find me If you love me I’ll open all the doors to that secret place where time and space lie all snuggled up in place into love’s embrace and eternity’s grace just love me (x) in black and white (x) and all the grey of my heart will soon disappear for your sea-foam brush will spray clots of colors in fertile soil just find me (x) and love me (x) black or white and a burst of moonbeam will unfurl its loving sails and my pain will drop right back into the sea of moonless dreams. back to musical intro (1:52)
Inspired by the painting "Highland Lassie" (1871) by Thomas Faed.
(Verse One; In introduction to Cailin)
Walkin' on the highways, searchin' down the byways,
Tromps a lonely figure on the Highland roads;
Peerin' from the Highdown, breezin' through the lake town,
Askin' of a question erry where he goes:
(Chorus; Cailin, followed by some villagefolk)
And it's, "Marry, gather 'round! for she hasna' yet been found;
I come lookin' for the truest lass, as only one can be:
I've a letter do deliver; as you see, it says to give 'er
To the fairest Highland lassie from Loch Leven to the sea."
"Here's a lass," they proudly say, "fair as June and sweet as May,
And it's sure that she's the fairest in the Highland mountains steep:
Through the heather you may go, climb the mountains capped with snow,
But you'll never find a better lass on which your eyes to peep."
(Verse Two; Cailin's thoughts)
Some of them were pouty, others even dowdy;
"These," he thought, "would never do in fifteen years:
Beauty on the outside, nothin' on the inside,
Leaves a girl with nothin' when it fades to tears."
(Chorus; Cailin's continuing journey)
Trav'lin' all around, for she hasna' yet been found;
He's come lookin' for the truest lass, as only one can be:
With a letter do deliver; as you see, it says to give 'er
To the fairest Highland lassie from Loch Leven to the sea."
"Here's a lass," they proudly say, "fair as June and sweet as May,"
But you canna' tell the fairest one except you see them all:
And the lassies sweetly smile, for this stranger to beguile,
As 'e treads throughout the Highlands from the winter to the fall.
(Verse Three; Cailin's travels and troubles)
From the banks of Lomon', up to Durness roamin',
How's a wight to judge betwixt a thousand score?
Steps were waxing weary, days were growing dreary,
'Till 'e saw a lass 'e hadna' met before.
(Chorus; Cailin, to a lass called Ellsie and her villagefolk)
And it's, "Marry, gather 'round, for the lassie here is found!
I 'ave searched and found the truest lass, as only one can be:
Here the letter I deliver; as you see, it says to give 'er
To the fairest Highland lassie from Loch Leven to the sea.
"Here's a lass," I proudly say, "fair as June and sweet as May,
And it's sure that she's the fairest in the Highland mountains steep:
Through the heather you may go, climb the mountains capped with snow,
But you'll never find a better lass on which your eyes to peep."
(Verse Four; Ellsie's villagefolk reply in confusion)
Then they said, "Oh, please, Sir, don't you taunt and tease 'er,
Caint you tell she's plainer e'en than Skye down dell?
Caint you tell you've pained 'er? don't do that again, Sir,
Lest you 'ave a reason, and if so, pray tell."
(Chorus; Cailin's reply, followed by Ellsie reading the letter)
"O'er the braes an' through the moor, I 'ave trode my walkers sore,
All to find the truest lassie in the Highlands boggy peat;
And the truest lass is fair, for the true shall never wear,
So I say that here's the truest, fairest lass I've chanced to meet."
Then she opened up the scroll, and she read it to the full,
And for those who chance to wonder, I shall quote you what she read:
"When the fairest lass I find, if our wishes are aligned,
I should wish to know thee better, lass, and then, perhaps, to wed."
(Verse Five; Ellsie's reply to the letter)
Then she said, "Oh, come, Sir; don't be sad or glum, Sir;
Meet my father, mother, and my sisters small:
Soon the bells were ringin', people gladly singin'
"Here's the lad who worked to find the best of all."
(Chorus, which Ellsie's villagefolk sing at the wedding)
"O'er the braes an' through the moor, 'e 'as trode 'is walkers sore,
All to find the truest lassie in the Highlands boggy peat;
And the truest lass is fair, for the true shall never wear,
So I say that here's the truest, fairest lass I've chanced to meet.
"Here's a lass," we proudly say, "fair as June and sweet as May,
And it's sure that she's the fairest in the Highland mountains steep:
Through the heather you may go, climb the mountains capped with snow,
But you'll never find a better lass on which your eyes to peep."
Note: the verses are written using trochaic feet, meaning that they begin with a stressed syllable, followed by an unstressed, and so on repeatedly. The fifth foot (syllables nine and ten) in the second and fourth lines of the verses is a spondee, meaning two stressed syllables in one foot. I mention this for ease in correct reading. An example of this same device is "Since the Savior Found Me" by Edgar J. Haskins, (in last line of verses and refrain).
I'm aware that
They'll dare me to surrender when my burner's unkindled
And the barrel is empty
Since their whiskey is missing
But it's in our blood and baby it's trickling and
We're on a roll
I heard from her and her merciless curves
That the curse'll come first
Just 'fore the rebirth
It's a thought that gets lost when you pitch it with a cross
O'er a plate made of moss so
I'll name it Shell from Sawed-Off
As I paint Hell from Far-Off
Like the Seraphim cherishing the heart
Who can't turn from the art
Like embarrassing a perishing enemy
Yeah, one last taunt
When told to listen as though it'd fix it
Something went missing
Although I didn't miss it
A relation on a ship quite distant and
Slightly free
Where the ocean switched and the compass died instantly
Oh it's in our blood, baby we're tricky so now
Out that ship has sailed
Like the Seraphim cherishing the shark
Who can flip 'round the ark
Like embarrassing a perishing enemy
Yeah, one last taunt
And our sweat is slightly trickling
A whiskey business, the highest feeling
And the pressure is highly tricky
A risky business, a godly healing
I watch the ocean waves from underneath it all.
Deep down.
It's getting harder to breathe.
This water makes its way into my lungs.
You're suffocating me.
Asphyxiation.
Just leave me here, you haven't changed at all.
You fall apart, every time you start.
Just start realizing you can't replace the hole that you put in my heart.
One last breath to say goodbye.
I'll tell myself a final lie.
"I'll make it out alive."
The only thing that can feel this hole is the water that buries me at sea.
It'll feel the void, complete me.
Will I ever feel my limbs again?
Is this the end of my suffering?
I don't feel like waking up.
I can't wake up.
I can't see the sunrise anymore.
I have sunken to the ocean floor.
As the world
closes in on us
   our eyes
see
    what our hearts
permit them to see
In autumn - in
the waning of the year
as the trees
   turn orange, red and golden
before the land is covered in white
we will see sound and light
Surrounded by nature's beauty we become a part
  of the eco-system
A great dawn
  awaits us
in the end
Voices of ancient
    children
reverberate in the cool air
Sometimes when it seems
that we are lost
the rhythm of the seasons
reminds us of what we may become
Perhaps this autumn light
  will bring this world
to its' senses
Strength, Tranquility
and a heavy sense
      of peace
Are being swept in
by a cool Northeastern breeze
All aboard this ship of fools,
all aboard she's sailing,
all aboard this ship of fools,
for we are going a' whaling.
From the harbour our course we keep,
for the distant Antarctic water,
to find the leviathans of the deep,
and begin our bloody slaughter.
All aboard this ship of fools,
all aboard she's sailing,
all aboard this ship of fools,
for we are going a' whaling.
We say there is a scientific need,
to study these magnificent beings
we harpoon them, and watch them bleed,
as before our ship they're fleeing.
All aboard this ship of fools,
all aboard she's sailing,
all aboard this ship of fools,
for we are going a' whaling.
And still our leaders, they entreat
that we do this for the good of science,
but really it is for their meat,
that we kill these gentle giants
All aboard this ship of fools,
all aboard she's sailing,
all aboard this ship of fools,
for we are going a' whaling.
In the deep,
I have acquaintenances
With whom I share a common goal,
Intimate friends,
Visionary souls.
I swim in the darkly mirth
And beyond the yawning abyss.
I watch by night for the vulnerable waif
That might find me too, remiss.
For I am here for one brief spark
In Time’s expedient flight,
Just swimming in the darkness,
While moving toward the Light.
Seems like dark
clouds are following us
      Let the torrents
come down
     We'll survive!
As water strikes
    our garden
  The earth and roots
         devours it
    Life springs forth
after shadows have
     passed
Our little star
     will continue
to shine
   on though the
night
    There will be
movement
    of the wheel of
fate
   When we are cleansed by the
rain
    Then we can
begin anew
    Letting the breezes
caress us
   We'll continue onwards
            darkness, rain
and ill fortune
may come
    but we shall grow
and prosper in spite
    of it
  We'll lift up our
         arms
  to embrace the world
Laugh once more
    as spring rains
continue to fall
I'm living in the boat on the ocean
No sun. No cigarettes
Tomorrow I will find you, my heart feels it
You know, you were the only one who I really loved in this dying world
Take my hand, let's break this town
My love, my love, my **** love
My heart was in my mouth
I want him. I am so sure
Don't hide from me, honey
Don't hide from the dark past
'Cause she is on the another side
She's waiting for you, baby
I said "Everything is going to be alright"
You said "It sounds like a lullaby from my mouth"
I was repeating it thousand times
But that dark past shadow ruined you
Take my hand, let's break this town
My love, my love, my **** love
My heart was in my mouth
I want him. I am so sure
I want him
I want him
I want him
The waves slide over the shore
Leaving tiny, squiggly trails
The moon and sun battle for the sky
And the big, bright moon prevails.
The beach is shrouded in darkness
Dimmly lit by only one light
That dances through the undertow
Marching its way through the plight.
A stencil of gray laces the sky
Creating a vision of death
Slowly overcoming the shore
'Til it takes its last breath.
The ocean itself which had once held
So much life in its depths
Has become drowned in its own contents
It is meeting its own death.
A storm lashes its way
Solmnly across the sky
To make room for what will unleash
That will cause the very moon to cry.
Dancing and waltzing across the shore,
The moon sadly turns away
She can't bear to see her ocean like this
And witness it going astray.
With one, final, swift motion,
She casts her love out to sea
The love she held deeply for her ocean
The world, and all her countries.
She makes her way back to where she belongs
And lets the sun take over the sky
I didn't, in all my years,
Think I would ever see the moon cry.
But she shed those tears so bravely
And dried them so nonchalant
She turned and made her way back to the sky
Like it was something she could never want.
The moon had lost the battle
And, defeated, began to fade away
Then the sun began to dance, too
To celebrate a brand-new day.
Sea of love
The sea of love gets deeper,  with each moment
I've waded from the shore,  into your love
Bridge 1
And waves of love come crashing over me
And so I dive into your deep blue sea
I'm taken away by your waves,
it's only your love, that I crave
The sea of love is churning, ever faster
Tidal waves of pleasure, break me down
Bridge 2
And so I sail into your deep blue sea
and your waves keep on caressing me
We sail together to distant lands
We'll build our castles in the sand
Chorus
The sea of love...
oh, the sea of love...
We're on the sea of love
We're sailing on the deep blue sea
together, just you and me...
The sea of love, is as big as an ocean
we will sail both near and far
spend our nights underneath the stars
Oh, the sea of love will carry us forever
We'll ride it's waves until the end of time
Bridge 2
And so I sail into your deep blue sea
and your waves keep on caressing me
We sail together to distant lands
We'll build our castles in the sand
Chorus
The sea of love...
oh, the sea of love...
We're on the sea of love
We're sailing on the deep blue sea
together, just you and me...
Chorus repeat
fade to zero
Take me where the ocean rolls bigger than the pain in my soul. Let me lay upon shore sand, hold its grit in my hand as it claims ground again, so sure of where it belongs to begin its own fated end. Allow ships on a far horizon remind me how small I am and how little I understand. My pain seems so very grand yet it and my heart bearing it will be gone long before this sand, so small, so mere in tiny bits, but more earthly significant than any of me I have to give. I have no distinct pain, all I hurt once ached another name that millions could easily claim. I do not want to love him anymore. I do not want care blood in my core. I want to fling this ugly feel thing fate determined it must bring to be my first empathy cling. God, let me tuck it inside a shell, please allow it to only there dwell. I promise I will sail the shell by my own hand into the ocean. There it will free my stored hell in salty endless freedom motion instead of salty tears of lame devotion.
I see you up there flying in the sky of majestic winged one,
your wing span is so wide, you dip your wings now and then
just to see what the wind is doing, Your head lifts up to see,
as your steely eyes look from side to side.
You cannot afford to get it wrong,
or you could fly off course and hit the ground.
You calculate so carefully, but not on paper, like us, not you,
Your head is what you use to think through all the things you have to do.
Your feathers had all been fluffed about,
when you were caught in a nasty gale.
You had thrashed about and it made you shout
as it grabbed your pure white tail.
Now you are soaring up to the sky,
where you're dwarfed by the mighty blue whale.
The people on the ground don't know,
how much stress a seagull goes through.
When you are pushed around by a wind so fierce,
you have to hang on with all your might.
Just to keep yourself from falling from the sky,
during such a hairy scaring flight.
I watch you dive into the sea ,
to catch the fish that want for tea.
You dive in and grab it with your beak,
then wait patiently, for the next to pick.
With a grace and style so neat,
you dive in and claim your delicate feast.
You have to do this very quick,
because a big wave could make you sink.
Your fisherman friend Joe is due,
you know his boat, its painted bright blue.
You watch for his mast as it nears the point,
and as he enters the bay, get into position to wait,
for him to cut up the catch of the day.
Sometimes I wish I could fly away too,
across the oceans you soar over so blue,
I would fly to a place that was away
from the hustle and bustle back home.
I would chase all the other birds there in the sky,
that are also all alone.
You must see many things on your flights,
when you fly over land, sea and shore.
I love to see you soar through the sky,
Until I can' t see you up there anymore.
A sailor's soul has an epic thirst Only nourished by the sea For only upon it's waves and swells Is a sailor's soul set free He prays for winds to fill his sails And clear skies to chart his way A pull of rum and cheap cigar To finish out his day The stories spewed, both lies and truths Will fade upon the seas For until his ship, next leaves it's slip Will his soul again be freed
      UNDER THE SEA
Sometimes the sea brings hope to me
as if a dream has come and meant to be
it weaves a spell I know too well
within a time that's known but to the sea.
An empty sound is all around
and echos from what walls there may be found
a click--a tap--a buzz--a snap,
within the time that fills my empty sound;
the light goes through eternal blue
and into space as light can only do,
as pressure grows, my being flows,
contented in the dream I'm flowing through.
In everyone’s heart and on their minds there’s a special dream they’re trying to find. A wise old couple traveled the world in search of their unicorn dream. They came to an island in the sun then they knew their search was done. They captured a fabulous unicorn then they came home from their travels all tattered and torn they boasted of their fine treasure they had tied and bound. Then flash she set herself free with the magic of her own horn. The wise couple said “maybe it was for the best”. They knew they had been trapped for years in their own dream. Yet not to be discouraged by their last quest they set sail again to search for the best. No matter if you are one or ninety don’t hide your dreams. As sure as there is a morning star, your dreams may not be too far. It may be the love you never had. It may be the book you never wrote. It may be the song you really wanted but did not sing. Everyone has someone or something deep inside they want to have and hold and possess. Like the wise old couple keep on searching till you find your own happiness.
I write from my heart, not just words, but feelings of what’s inside,
Our hearts are such wonderful places where we can find things to hide
Like the ones that I want to remember, they are like pieces of gold
The warm memories that unfold when I think of the reasons they are there
Reminders of special people who I'll always consider my true friends
Just like you are and always will be my friend for every day to come.
Memories of that first day we met on a beautiful and wonderful ship
Will be with me as reminders of days on this cruise each and every one.
Caley you and I met on the "Sun Princess" and then we bonded fast
The time I had with you dear friend was great from the first day to last
I'll never forget the kindness you showed that started a friendship with you
You helped to lift my spirits up when I was teary and feeling very blue
I’ll never forget the tears you shed when I sang that day on the ship
I was touched as I saw you sitting there with tears running down your face
This was the biggest compliment that you could have ever paid me for sure.
Day after day I wish that I could have back the life I had more and more.
Life is full of many surprises I have found with challenges all the time
The best surprise I just received was aboard the "Sun Princess" so fine
I met a lady who loves jewellery, as much as I do on board   this ship
She befriended me while we dined in the most lavish place to eat
From the moment we met we became the best of friends so true
Starting as we looked at jewellery or Swarovski Crystal too expensive for me
Or was it while we were dining as we sailed together on the ocean blue
I only know dear Caley it would not be the same if I hadn’t met you.
    THE WHALE SONG
The masters of the ocean
Depending on you
What can they do?
They are grieving.
The masters of the ocean
Are crying for you
What can they do?
They are leaving.
It's a whale of a thing and a helluva fix to be.
If you're living the life of a whale that's in the sea.
All they want is ocean
and the space to run.
Freedom's just a morning spray
flashing in the sun.
All they ask is ocean
and the Hope to be
thankful God has given them
---------the sea.
It's a whale of a thing and a helluva fix to be.
If you're living the life of a whale that's in the sea.
It's a whale of a thing and a helluva fix to be.
If you're living the life of a whale that's in the sea.
       VENUS RISING
On the levee, that warm summer day,
there you were, rising from the sea,
daughter of my night, and in your way,
the comforter of what a night can be.
My Venus rising, you, the light of God,
in streaks of light, through a summer rain,
I still recall, but still I think it odd,
I'd not seen you before, but would again.
In your eyes, where there's no end to see,
were secrets of the universe,
I'd never known, but then they came to me
as pools of words where-in I could immerse.
And in your voice, you sang for me the song,
that stays with me, my morning lullaby,
that only poets hear, and sing along,
and know dear Child of God, you'll never die.
Would that this summer rain to fall on me,
dispelling all the law concerning love,
and in your eyes, I'd forever be
the love your heart is dreaming of.
   IRISH LAD'S DREAM
To sign aboard a whalin' ship
to hear mey master wail
such orders I'd be mustered to
like settin' o' the sail,
contracted for many a trip;
for all the life of me;
I'd be a perfect bos'ns mate,
the best out on the sea;
I'd man the harpoon at his call,
he'd know how good's me aim,
providin' ole for burnin lamps
in homes who need the flame;
an' every mate would know that I
am eager for me stout,
at any port we'd pull into
as sailin' all about;
an' when a gale should try to sink
us down into the brine,
I'd hold the course and get me to
a favorite lass o' mine.
Under the depths below the deep
of this Atlantic Ocean
live the lobsters that crawl and creep
with an articulated motion.
On the ocean that smells so fresh
the boatmen cast their nets
for lobsters' tender, tasty flesh
which they'll sell to pay their debts.
With a great catch this new season
the boatmen head for home;
the frozen lobsters give them reason
to reach harbor and not to roam!
In restaurants and sold at stores,
the lobsters are enjoyed
till all on New England's shores
are full and over-cloyed.
When I can squalor victorious
It's when I'll say
That I'm a ruthless young hooligan
Just for today
Here in the bedroom
Crime pours out in the evergreen
Bombarding on the beauty scene
Oh are you with me?
Charisma kills politically
Now and then it comes for me
Visionaries comfort thee
Coast to coast from sea to sea
Here in the bedroom
Colors flow across the morning sky
So beautiful I want to cry
Oh are you with me?
When I claim it in the name of us
It's when I'll say
That I'm as wild as a blunderbuss
Just for today
Up comes the ocean
Wave, froth and story
Awesome commotion
Stupendous glory
The doors are open
The doors are open
Tumult in still silence
Churning in the water
Now the silence sweet
In the seventh heaven
In the seventh heaven
As we smell the salt
The sea comes to a halt
For a tiny moment of
Beauty just begotten
Ocean girl I feel you riding
on the waves at night,
flashing in a brilliant spray
of mist and lunar light.
From the deep you've gathered sea shells
in your lily hand
tossed them to the moon like dreams
no one can understand.
Have you been someone I've known?
I guess I'm part of you.
Ocean girl, I'd love you still,
but don't know what I'd do.
Living in the dream you are,
and riding on the sea,
through coral reefs and shipwrecked souls
 for our eternity.
Crystal blues and yellow hues
from off the ocean floor
beckon to the wandering
I've always hungered for.
If I loved you once again,
as I've done in the past,
would it be a dream sureal
but one to never last?
Ocean girl, don't tell me now,
I'll never want to know,
where it is you're coming from,
or where we have to go,
take my hand and dive into
uncharted ocean's fate,
and as for what I am right now,
it will have to wait.
Smell the spring aroma and
let it delight all your senses...
don't the softest roses bloom
on windless, sunniest days?
Let my slow fingers caress your lustrous hair,
feel the pleasant warmth of a lovely afternoon;
on windless, sunniest days...
don't the softest roses bloom?
Only the truest lovers can set the white moon ablaze,
as the passing stars shed more light on their faces;
don't the softest roses bloom
on windless, sunniest days?
God gave us love freely as the air we breath;
humans have turned it into lust and doom...
on windless, sunniest days
don't the softest roses bloom?
                                         Long love day's has past.
                                 My mind felt with howling storms,
                                 grasping to hold on to vanishing love.
                                 Rape and abandon my weary soul
                                 transpires, poring with instant fires.
                                 Oh this dark secret love does thy life
                                 destroy.
                                 Like amorous birds of pray,
                                 Once ways, and known devoured
                                 Your beauty no more to befound
                                 nor shall the sound of your voice.
                                 Love to dust, love to ashes.
                                 Our love has now gone to a private place.
                                        The grave yard of love.
