Sun And Moon

. I am the moon hanging solitary in the sky watching sails fluttering by breathlessly against the wind. I'm just a rock ,dark, unknown without a light that is my own. Yet He ,He sees hues I cannot see and the true colours in me. He, He is familiar to my face This face that shines less brightly without his full embrace. He is the sun, He is the one Never so close , always too far yet still staying behind me . He casts his softest glow reflecting orange and soul, He penetrates his warmth A fire ball of wants , Then fades ,fades away in the horizon. He is the sun, He is the one in a universe of nothingness . He fills our gaps, hopes and regrets Never so close ,always too far yet still staying behind me. I am the moon ,He is the sun He is the one...He is the one

Twas A Full Moon Shining - Collab

Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light. I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze, Twas the voice of a woman I used to chase and tease. Our love was forever, at least I used to think it so. Then came the day she left me; I wondered, where’d she go? If true love lasts forever, was this love not for me? I heard an answer on the wind - Son, your true love is she. A true love will always linger in the shadows of your heart Even when the one you love has chosen to depart. True love is the love you gave, no matter what the cost It will return to you again, for it is never lost. Like a full moon shining on a cool summer night With placid waters glistening in its silver shadowed light Love comes like a whisper on a cool evening breeze A gentle touch, a soft caress, a rustle in the trees. There is no bitterness in the past, if your love was true The sweetness in the memory is true love’s gift to you A rising sun or new full moon is not a memory And so will love come once again, if you let it be. Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze, Twas the voice of love’s song...answering my pleas.

Promise The Moon

When I say "I love you",
Should it come with a price?
To say I'm thinking of you,
                                         Are these words still unwise?

I could fall for you a dozen times,
And have the wrong words to say.
Just tell me that I'm on your mind,
At least I hope and pray.

                                       I've seen sunsets and sunrises
And have spent so much time alone
                                        Should love wear no disguises
That I may call you my own.

If I could have one chance,
One moment to be with you,
In love's fell clutch of gripping hands
I wish to promise the moon.

Fanciful August moon

Moon shines its pale

Enchanting light

Upon forest floor

Where winged creatures

legendary, pale and sleek

Spin and flit and dance

To the invisible orchestra;

Of Blue bells ringing

Hummingbirds humming

Fireflies buzzing

And dandelions singing in tune

With lilting fairy song as they sing

Melodies that echo through forest pines

To the Fairy Queen bathed in the light of

The August moon

Lone He's Playing The Bassoon

Lone He's playing the bassoon
Pulling down the argent blinds
He shuts out the sight of moon.

Half bare, half cloaked
in an ebon velvet coat
Her limbs dances to his tune
He rejects her Winter-light
through the marble- mosaiced room

Lone He's playing the bassoon
Pulling down the argent blinds
He shuts out the sight of moon

He sleeps longer with the night
In his dream dust rides each tide
Casting shadows upon the edge
of an early compromise

Lone He's playing the bassoon
Pulling down the argent bllinds
He shuts out the sight of moon

Fog have made him become blind
Frost kept him forever cold
He couldn't feel , He couldn't see
All those beams of molten-gold
Glistened on the pebbled shore
which lead always to his door.

He shuts out the sight of moon
Pulling down the argent blinds
Lone He's playing the bassoon

Playing with the vacant night
with the wind, the rain, and tide

He stopped playing the bassoon
just to watch the crescent moon.

The laughing moon

It's here now under a converted sky
Where daylight has loss it’s might
Hours before the green hills had sight, with
splattered hints of yellow wild flowers so bright
Now time has casts a different light

It here now where the heavens sings an evening song
With twinkled lights on a moon lit prong
Dancing stars and dreaming of mars
Its here on this transformed spot
I will sit and jot

It is here now as I lay back on this cool grass, and write a story
with the heavens the color of quarry
Of jeweled eyes in the skies
that connected to stories, some disguised
With silver spoons and astrological loons

On dream away, dream on by
to the earths motions and lullabies
It is here now time to take a brake
from life’s work ,and worries and heart ache
Try it yourself remember when, you were a child
when you looked up the night and smiled amen

Remember Me

The sun shines yes I know
A heavy gust as the wind wants to blow
Leaves flying high in the sky and then hitting the ground
The sun decides to fall as the moon decides to rise
As darkness begins to be all around

Remember my smile as the sun that shines
Remember my breath as the wind blows
Remember my feelings as the moon begins to rise
Remember me even when I die

The fire burns everything in sight
But the rain rids its heat with all its might
The cold weather is now here
And the sun begins to disappear

Remember my love as the fire burns
Remember my pain as the rain falls
Remember my hugs as the weather gets cold and dry
Remember me even when I die

The breeze cools everything and everyone down
Even that sad person walking into town
Listen to music on the days you have a frown
And at night dream as you lay in your gown

Remember my passion as the breezes begins to settle
Remember my words as the music plays
Remember my inspiration when you start to dream
In the heavens I will be lifted up high
So remember me even when I die

Kiss of the Winter Moon

Darkness soothes tender wounds
daylight's laughter inflamed
benumbing words sharply felt
fiery as rays of the sun

An open winter window
frames a pale frail face
Her sobbing shivers
			shed cold tears
as snowflakes
		fluttered
				from her eyes

Uncomely scars forgotten
beneath winters white veil of lace
disguising shadows
			hide her fears
as starlight
		adores what
			daylight denies

Moonlight caresses her secret space
her aching heart longing to be loved
Shy Winter moon
		silently yearning
				to kiss her face

to kiss a face

			laughed at

					by the sun

This piece is about a young girl who was daily mocked and laughed at because of her facial scars.

Moon Dance

The waves slide over the shore
Leaving tiny, squiggly trails
The moon and sun battle for the sky
And the big, bright moon prevails.
The beach is shrouded in darkness
Dimmly lit by only one light
That dances through the undertow
Marching its way through the plight.
A stencil of gray laces the sky
Creating a vision of death
Slowly overcoming the shore
'Til it takes its last breath.
The ocean itself which had once held
So much life in its depths
Has become drowned in its own contents
It is meeting its own death.
A storm lashes its way
Solmnly across the sky
To make room for what will unleash
That will cause the very moon to cry.
Dancing and waltzing across the shore,
The moon sadly turns away
She can't bear to see her ocean like this
And witness it going astray.
With one, final, swift motion,
She casts her love out to sea
The love she held deeply for her ocean
The world, and all her countries.
She makes her way back to where she belongs
And lets the sun take over the sky
I didn't, in all my years,
Think I would ever see the moon cry.
But she shed those tears so bravely
And dried them so nonchalant
She turned and made her way back to the sky
Like it was something she could never want.
The moon had lost the battle
And, defeated, began to fade away
Then the sun began to dance, too
To celebrate a brand-new day.

As We Dance Off To the Moon -- Original Version

This star shot across the sky, not a wee bit shy,
as I breathed a sigh on moonlit ground.
It didn't pause to ask me "Why?"
When I questioned was it heaven bound.
It just passed as if to say,
   "Nothing gets in my way.
    I'm lit up and that's O.K.,
as I dance on past the moon."

You walk through Central Park, making sparks,
   breaking hearts with every view.
My dreams ride through the dark,
   somewhere down Park Avenue.
   I'll offer you the ride.
I no longer wish to hide.
I want you by my side.
And then we'll dance off to the moon.

All along that Milky Way, come what may,
your eyes array and hold their sight.
As I search for what to say, to not betray,
   this priceless "Starry Night."
I'd cut off my one good ear,
for those three words I wish to hear.
I just want your love my dear,
as we dance off to the moon.

I'm all alone. Without a stone,
to call my own, on foreign land.
I call you on the phone, to hear you moan,
in a tone, I thought was banned.
   Our universe commands
   that orbits never land.
   There are no one-night stands.
So let's dance off to the moon.

Let's catch that star, in a ragtop car,
and go so far, out of our way.
And sing each bar, on my guitar,
with hearts ajar, enough for us to say.
   "I'll love you for all-time.
    Let's kiss and pantomime.
No time for one more rhyme.
    Let's dance to the moon."

Written: 3/3/17 (and slightly modified on 4/9/17)
*A new Extended Version of this lyric (with 4 additional stanzas) was

Daughter of the Moon

She comes out at night
     Silently like the moon and
stars
   If you are wondering
where she goes during the day
You'll receive no answer from her
She is a stealthly beauty
Whose eyes glimmer in the moonlight
The daughter of the moon is
    awaiting her lover
Who will arrive during the next eclipse
Her long hair
    glows in the shadows
As she awaits her destiny
  She moves like
the wind rustling leaves in the forest
She is sweet to the touch, to the taste
   Watch this unearthly
beauty
As she dances her lunar dance
Deep in the night
   She becomes joy personified

The Midnight Moon

Sounding in the distance
I hear the midnight moon
cutting through the darkness
A new day arriving soon

With a suitcase full of dreams
I anxiously await
A beacon of hope is coming fast
for the midnight moon is never late

All aboard is the call
I feel my spirit rejoice
time to ride the midnight moon
to the destination of my choice

Just a Little Bit of Sugar

From your two transparent blue oceans Where the sky has sprinkled Its two handfuls of dream Wind is wild like school children From that laughter into my dark corners Can you please give me with your palm Just a little bit of the granules of sugar From those smiling sparkling swirling eyes Where the blue of sea mingle with the white of sky Where from morning till night Ever blooming stories sprinkle delight From the sweet whispers of the starry night Just a little bit of sugar for my twilight Can you give me Or else what for this petalled unfolding every day Upon the sand that the sun has almost forgotten On the shoulder where the hair lays caress In a dream in midair still Weaves tales of wild hare On the moons where clouds still grow and swell What for this everyday bread and butter Without just a little bit of sugar From you For my hue Just a slice of window I seek before my eye lashes From your green and orange game Not just an onlooker A little bit of sugar too _____________________________________________________________ For the poetry contest: Just a Little Bit of Sugar Sponsored by: Debbie Guzzie

As We Dance Off To the Moon - Extended Version - PART TWO

Let's catch that star, in a ragtop car,
and go so far, out of our way.
And sing each bar, on my guitar,
with hearts ajar, enough for us to say.
   "I'll love you for all-time.
    Let's kiss and pantomime.
No time for one more rhyme.
    Let's dance to the moon."

*Part One was posted first (a little earlier on 4/9/17).
The original version of this lyric was written, and posted, on 3/3/17.
Stanzas 4, 5, and 6 were written on 3/29/17. Stanza 8 was written
today. When I wrote the original version, I had written the first three
stanzas only to find myself stuck. I then imagined famous singers from
various genres singing the words I had already written, hoping to find
the perfect fit. And then I found him. Tony Bennett. With his voice
in my head, the 4th and 5th stanzas practically wrote themselves.
I tried to tap back into his voice, when I added the other 4 stanzas.
I hope I was successful. At any rate, thank you Mr. Bennett, wherever
           you are.....
                                                   4/9/17

A poem for YOU

In this world of Uncertainties I’m the man that you can trust And in my words of sincerity That my love would never last. And if you could only feel, what i feel for you You can ask me “why?” so you can see the truth Like our love that tightens the rope, Like a light that would give us hope. As you watch the dark skies Let me grab the moon for you, And as I catch the bright stars That’s the way you can see me through As this planet turns as it always will And things go wrong and you don’t know what to feel Hold my hand for it will make us strong Like a wind, we will carry on The wind blow that sings a hymn for you For they know what does love means for the two Love is blind, and not deaf So how’s success if you’re not ready to bet? In this poem with full of rhymes, A full of love, Babe can you be mine? I don’t expect too much from you Why should I? If you complete my whole. “Till death do us part” that’s what they have said But why do struggles crash them ahead? Don’t ask me when my love will last, To count all of our quarrels, is that a must? Now and Forever is all that I promise No day dreaming and without reminiscence As the matter of time, as the time passes by Together we stand, together you and I

Rock 'N Roll Ride

We tuned our guitars, we're ready to play our tune.
On a rock & roll ride.Guitar slide to the moon.
Heavy metal, hard rock & roll.
There's enough music to sooth the soul.

We got enough time, to reach the moon.
We got enough time, to play our tune.
Heavy metal, hard rock & roll.
There's enough music to sooth the soul.

Guitar slide, rocket ride in tune.
We built our rocket. We'll fly off to the moon.
Climb on board. No time to stay. It's time to say.
That we tuned our guitars. We're ready to play our tune.

We're off the ground. We'll be on our way real soon.
On a rock & roll ride.Guitar slide to the moon.
Heavy metal, hard rock & roll.
There's enough music to sooth the soul.

We got enough time, to reach the moon.
We got enough time, to play our tune.
On a rock & roll ride.Guitar slide to the moon...

Moon Landing

When I first saw you
That night I was running
You blasted me away
Onto the moon landing

90 degrees out in the desert
 (we were in the park)
Cupid shot the arrow right through my heart
 (Light shown through the dark)
Orion’s belt started glistening
As you took me on a trip to the moon, the moon landing

When I first saw you
That night I was running
You blasted me away
Onto the moon landing

You took my breath away
Just as they say
The puppy came out of me
And I just had to see…
The moon landing
The moon landing
The moon landing

Come Chill With Me Tonight

Verse 1:
Don't be shy,
I just wanna spend some time,
Make you mine,
Make it right,
Don't need to worry,
Girl, no one will ever compare,
To you,

Chorus:
Girl, The moon is close tonight,
Mother nature's on my side,
Let the clock move slow all night,
Come chill with me tonight,

I said the dj's on my side,
And he's playing our song all night,
We can dance all through the night,
Come chill with me tonight,

Verse 2:
Listen to the night,
Listen to the moving of the trees,
Their talking to me,
Controlling me,
They make me move,
As I watch the movement of the
moon,

Chorus:
The moon is close tonight,
And it's shining on so bright,
And our love is worth the fight,
Come chill with me tonight,

Girl, the party's off tonight,
And their playing the disco right,
And the club won't be jumping
tonight,
Come chill with me tonight,

I said the dj's on my side,
And he's playing our song all night,
We can dance all through the night,
Come chill with me tonight...

The Darkest Hour

From the time the sun sets, the time moon came, the time world sleeps, the time nothing remained same... the hour before sunrise, the little time left for the end of the nigh .. the visible last star, tells the story of that dark hour.. the seem less sky, the rustling winds, the eerie thoughts, whistling to me , my sins, it was the time clock stopped, the world became quite, the cold sets the room, it happens every night.. the rain drops on my window, making faces in the dark, for i , i am laying down the bed, hearing a dog bark.. the past , sleeping beside me, staring at me with its eyes red, all these years have passed, still those blood stains, haven't yet shed... i hear them scream, i hear them speak, which is enough , for me to freak.. the night is terrifying, more than knowing my doom, the crackling noises coming from the outside, gives chills to my room.. just then i saw a black mist, not that afraid now, it came closer to me, i was ready to welcome it with a bow, for the mist could kill me at that time, which is better than the memories killing me all the time, suddenly, there are no more audible voices, the dreams became peaceful and serene, i finally found my way, i am coming clean, now that the hour has passed me by, and i can say it with a sigh.. i was the savior, i had the guts, to walk the tallest tower, to live that darkest hour.

A Song For You

I want to sing, such a Song for you,
So the sleep may come to you,
When I sing the song for you
The fairies from heaven would come,
To take you softly in dreams.

You know when the fairies come,
The buds of your heart would bloom,
Leaving every clouds behind,
They would take you on their wings
On the silver surface of the Moon.

If the Moon is not there,
They would take you to your stars,
They fairies would tell your stars,
To shine and more shine,
Till your dreams come true.

I want to sing, such a Song for your,
So the sleep may come to you,
When I sing the song for you
The fairies from heaven would come,
To take you softly in dreams.

Do you know when the Moon and stars tells,
The sleep always comes
To rest in your eyes.
These stars tell everything
In their own silent way,
While shining far away in the sky.

I am singing a song for you,
So the sleep may come to you,

Yellow Moon

She watched as the earth fell asleep

Waited for the yellow moon

soft kisses of unfaithful wind..

Images..Images on her head

Nostalgic memory of a forgotten love

Flashes of things she tried to forget..

Her eyes caught the reflection of the moon

locked inside the rain on her cheek..

She was standing alone..

Her grieving heart sought

solace from the moon

She petitioned the stars

Where is he this very night?

Cruel..oh so cruel..

Beneath the silence of the sky

she bowed her head and cried..

What If Tomorrow Never Comes

I recall now the days when forever seemed but a short time The visits to the hospital, brought sad images to your mind She lay on a bed, cords all around her, no hair upon her head The cancer drove us crazy with worry tears and fright She was only a baby, I didn't get the chance to say goodbye Farewell until we meet again where you'll be waiting... waiting for tomorrow to come again. What if tomorrow never comes? How will I face the rising sun, when the moon is the only thing I can see? I need her here with me... The only loss I've ever known The only time that I've experienced this kind of sorrow... So what if tomorrow never comes? What if tomorrow never comes. And now I lie here thinking it through, memories flash through my head, memories of you Moments of a bittersweet time Reminiscing the days when you were mine The days when you were alive The tears come back to my eyes I feel the need to cry but nothing slides out I need to scream and shout, My emotions pour out as one, silently So what if tomorrow never comes? Reality in death is so hard to accept, I need my tomorrow to come... What if it never does? What if tomorrow never comes? How will I face the rising sun, when the moon is the only thing I can see? I need her here with me... The only loss I've ever known The only time that I've experienced this kind of sorrow... So what if tomorrow never comes? What if tomorrow never comes. Will tomorrow ever come? I just want to be awake when the moon becomes the sun I'm waiting here for you, in the darkness of the night. I wait still for you, forever the images will haunt my mind Tomorrow will come I'll soon be alright Tomorrow will come... Tomorrow has come... I can now see the sun.

' The Moon's Pilgrimage ... '

Moon’s Pilgrimage … Across The Sky To Praise
The Maker and All His Wondrous Ways
Moon’s Pilgrimage … Rises High, In Grace
Yet, Still In A Humble – Pilgrim’s Place

Moon’s Pilgrimage … Will Not Betray
All The Moonlight, GOD Lets Display
Tho’ She Moves In His Cosmic-Stage-Play
From His Theme-Theatre, She Will Not Stray

My Pilgrimage … Thru Deep, Dark Space
With Silver-Wings and Beams, I Chase
The Unknown and Known Questions Raised
Will Be Answered, When The Maker Says …

My Pilgrimage … To Touch Heaven’s Face
That Beauteous, Elusive, Mysterious Trace
Borne At The Blessed-Beginning’s Base
My Pilgrimage … Takes Me There To Pray …

My Pilgrimage … Takes Me There To Pay –
My Vows, My Voice, In Vesper-Vase
As This Moon, Is In Harvest – Phase
And Beams Brighter Now … Tho’ Slanted-Gaze

… The Moon … Glowing Ochre-Gold Or Silver
The Moon … Is Making Pilgrimage, Remember
The Moon … Is Trying To Help Deliver
Lost-Souls, Who Can Not Find … Moon River …

… Moon’s Pilgrimage … Keeps Steady Pace
Even Climbing Thru Dense, Cloudy-Lace
Moon’s Pilgrimage … Is Like A Dance, That Sways
Moon’s Pilgrimage … Into The Night’s Embrace … …

Rain Song

You played me like a violin
I can't believe I fell again
But clouds revealed the moon, and I was taken
Your eyes were closed
Your words were spare
You ran your fingers through my hair
But from your whispered breath, dark lies were spoken,

The moon betrayed me, .......a storm is waking.......
Have you betrayed me?........my world is shaking.......

Those empty words that still resound
pound in my head and I have found
Your love was like a tunnel going nowhere -
I crossed a bridge
And took a risk,
I fell right in,
But couldn't swim
The drowning rush surrounds me like a river

I dived right in it........I can't deny it
I would survive it........to cry a river

You came to me without a plan
I should have known that it would end
The echo of the thunder tried to warn me

A distant voice
Inside my head
A cloud appeared with laden air
And pulled me where the heart's a frozen ember

I see the lightning...... I am frightened
I hear the plunder.... a distant thunder

I hear it now, the pouring rain
It beats against the window pane
And now the chill just sends a quiver through me

Storms only come
When I'm alone
Torrential songs are drowning me
A broken heart can't stop the rain from coming in

When vows were spoken, a sun was shining.......
But I heard thunder, .... and you denied it

And truth came pouring down upon my head

HALF MOON

noon of dusk, the face of the moon
a snap caught on the face of lake
quiet spell of time for me to moon
a dream in which i'm still awake

half moon tripping along the edge
a quirk of mind before a scene
enhanced with rocks,on the ridge
the moon,ever so pale,is seen

quiet time of day no breath is heard
only the pacing foot on lawn
the black shapes of trees hold no bird
solitude is a friend alone

an image scattered on the lake
a light wind just brushing the face
a wrinkle that water will take
a response from the earth to space

nature has heart and mind to speak
in verse in dance in rhyme and prose
words are here,no elsewhere to seek
ending with poetic words to close
***************
i quitted home and set out away
to meet my nature in the "djebel"
the human race needs a home to stay
a flash of time,far from town's devil

rotten minds don't discern the truth
blended with fake in dirty streets
faces look like rusty masks no proof
do they hold a word to lighten their wits?

i did not have a pen but instead had a mind
and a heart standing for a compass to sail
the hills were vast, plenty of words within sight
a poem is left idle after the poetic trail

back home, before the shield i recalled the trip
i brought back the sounds the smells and pics
how lost i felt when the senses bagan to flip
not a memory from nature i could fix

so i closed my eyes and dived into sea
awakening or sleep both held one face
a poetic trance is a retreat to me
the poet don't belong to human race

October Moon

October moon, October moon, as you come out tonight, please shine on me your light. Let some guitars play a tune to serenade my love this night. October moon - you are beautiful. Especially on this night. Surrounded by stars, you are the Queen and the stars form your crown, october moon, October moon. As the wind blows a cool breeze, I want to be in my lover's arms, on this night October moon, October moon...

Liar's Moon

It would have been a pretty moon,
If I’d not been alone.
It would have been shining bright,
On a heart I called my own.
But here I sit beneath a sky,
Of darkness I have made,
And think of this game I’m in,
But wish I hadn’t played.

Oh liar’s moon, I’ve been deceived,
By the brightness of your smile,
You called my name, made me believe,
You’d be here for awhile.
I’ve been a fool for your love,
Gave up my heart and home,
The sky is empty...You have gone,
I’m left no place of my own.

So, now I am a prisoner,
Of lives I thought were dreams,
The bars that surround me,
Made of your piercing beams.
   I realize I am still a fool,
And though I feel so lost,
I’d throw it all into the wind,
And count you worth the cost.

Chorus:
Oh liar’s moon, you’ve won again,
I guess the joke’s on me,
You stole away my spirit,
And called it “setting me free”,
Oh liar’s moon, you’ve won again,
I guess the joke’s on me.

Moon Children

Once a flower child
Always a Moon Child
Generations of Cancerians
Have aped the crab with tenacity
Large eyes and agility
Moving side-to-side silently
Moody on mournful days
Joyful in the sunlight
Giver of love
Taker of wise advice
Domestic yet athletic
Contraditions abound
For crazed moon children
Who beam and fade periodically
