I looked up at a silver moon
Peering through a cloud of misty gloom
As we sailed across the Atlantic Sea
That fateful night in June

And as I stood upon the bow
A furrow crossed my troubled brow
When I saw a dying star fall from the sky
As the wind out of the north
Began to cry

'Twas then with fearful heart
I came at last to realize
That we were sailing
On a wave of ill-tidings
Known as 'The Devil's Tide'

For no omen of the sea
Brought more fear than thee
A fallen star -  a silver moon
Together in the month of June
If legend true would surely bring us doom

So with no trace of land in sight
We sailed onward through the night
I - the Captain 'Louie Lou'
With my faithful crew
Aboard the 3 mast schooner 'Angel - of the Blue'
On canvas wings we flew
Upon the wailing wind that blew

Then suddenly a hush of malaise
Crushed the summer night
Filling all the crew with dreadful fright
As all the stars in heaven lost their light
And the silver moon dipped completely out of sight
Leaving us to drift without guidance
To our unknown plight

An eerie sound began to roll out of the west
Growing louder and louder as we held our breath
Until it was upon us and the ship began rise
As we looked in horror into the Devil's eye
As the Angel of the Blue began to fly
Up the Devil's breast she climbed 20 fathoms high

One by one the Angel's wings were torn away
As she fought to save us from the Devil's rage
Screams of horror falling from her timber sides
As the crew fell into the Devil's tide

And I - tethered to the helm - watched them die
As we climbed even higher into the Devil's eye
And as the Angel's body creaked and cracked
We finally scaled the crest and rode upon the Devil's back
Just before I fainted and my world went black

I woke up in the morning high on a mountain side
Never knowing just how I had survived
knowing only that my Angel and my crew had died

~~~
Many years have come and gone since then
And I am forever haunted by each and every one of them
My faithful crew and my mighty 'Angel of the Blue'
I see their faces in my dreams
As I awaken to their screams
Wishing, too -  that I had died
But someone had to live
To tell the tale of the 'Devil's Tide'.
violet
star stream
flowing
across
the
soullessness
of
mundane dream...
whispering "everything's alright
she's thriving like a spring fed rose
in saintly gardens
an angel brightly glowing
...of this dream.
i staggered along
a ragged path
through a battlefield of metal devils
called
quartered living,
faith folding and unfolding
garnished with ogres slinging
burning orbs of fire -halos of insanity...
this is when
violet star
sashayed in
soothing me
shielding me
her singing rosary
telling me
that she loved and missed my heart
re-fastened our very being with a satin dream kiss
that had tattered in the talon of time...
lifted me across the bloody
broken battered fields
 ...into the arms of forever
where the beat of pristinity only flies
so fly
my love,
fly ever so softly into me
If dreams mean anything
I know it wont be long
till we dance
the dance of butterflies
over green sprigs and lacy things
in a warm wind
yes
in the heart pond of gilded tomorrows,
we'll gently drift about
make origami sunflower love
high upon a gilded glade...
if dreams mean anything
death is just a splash
of black pebbles
in a violet starry stream....
if dreams mean anything
from his abc's
to that freaky billy jean
came a pop star
for all to love and see
from the apollo's stage
wondered if you were ready for screaming rage
for you never had a childhood of bliss
only done what was on joseph's list
a studded white glove
and white socks just because
a star on the hollywood walk of fame
for you sang and danced showing no shame
scandals of twisted truth
did not detour you from your missing youth
neverland was your own safari escape
who would figure your best friend would be a chimp of faith
michael may god cradle you in his arms
and basked in your king of pops worldly charm
will forever miss that porcelain smile
and always think of you on my radio dial
for now your at your heavens trial
may god forgive this lost and lonely child
Armano the Auracano of Rock Star fame
Will never be singing on his stage again
A fan. a critter, or even a possum
Has taken his life, he will no longer blossom
He was a handsome dude, tall and preened
With shiny red rustic feathers, and did the girls scream
A newspaper reporter asked his manager Dane
It must be hard for you, as you will miss him playing
Yes i will, things will never be the same
But another star will be born, to look after his dames
Wish I was your addiction,
Upon a star non fiction,
never ending hole so deep,
Life would seem more complete
If you'd wake up,
crack open my bedroom door,
To think you'd been dreaming about me,
God gave you everything you need and more,
What Id give to feel those arms hug me,
genuinely, honestly, no love withholding
If I was your vice,
I would be the answer to your stress,
Of all else you try,
I'd always bring out the best,
You'd spend time with me ,
defend me to the end,
You'd be incredibly loyal,
I'd consider you my best friend
No recovery program could treat,
the connection we'd share no one could defeat,
You'd need to see my all the time,
reminders of me everywhere, your life would be a shrine,
Wish I was your addiction,
Upon a star non fiction
never ending hole so deep,
Life would seem more complete
She stands facing the ocean, majestic in awe
Her tears flooding freely for all that is gone
It is the not knowing why, she whispers aloud
An emptiness inside she cannot understand
She did her best, to be his lover, his friend
The crying won't stop, will this ever end
She wipes away a tear, a light catches her eye
She looks up, it disappears; figures she says
She brushes the sand off her trembling body
The light reappears and it is a solitude star
It is tiny and far, though brilliantly lit
She stands up tall and faces the star
She asks for guidance, the how and the why
The star flashes once, then dimly fades away
She pauses and stares, what does this mean
This tiny star will guide her to hope
She feels this light will carry her far
To a place as calm; as the brightly lit star.
Green bark a prism creates,
Feel the pull of earth, you must.
Rotates, a slime of endless hates,
Can hold me not, this world’s crust.
Friendship’s ties, isolation Deflates,
Succumbs, my spaceship, to bitter rust.
Mist, my soul forever permeates,
Lift-off, booms the rocket’s thrust.
My spirit when light returns, elates,
Swamps swell, swallowed hope’s swirling dust.
Trapped, I am, until student from fate
Arrives to learn; Cloud City or bust.
WRAPPING IT IN PURPLE
-For Prince
Black onyx handsome,
Small is beautiful,
Soft campy creature,
Definite in feature,
All chiseled, boned,
Talents honed,
And used for a king's ransom.
A royal purple mist,
Rained down on fans.
A thousand in the cast,
(He's never going to last).
Sing, Hip hop, do yer dance,
It's really yer last chance;
And maybe you'll be missed.
Let's do! Let's go crazy!
Count sheep, fall asleep,
Red flag, Swag dance, Sweet feet!
Tap it, Rap it, on a side street.
Keepers, weepers, of the dark,
One chance to make yer mark.
Sigh or sing, no time to be lazy!
Speed of light, day or night,
You know time can't be defined.
Check it off, count loves,
Hope you hear the cry of doves.
Yer wanting all yer extra time,
Kiss it in yer billboard climb;
A nanosecond dove in flight.
Burning up your axe,
Ending up an icon,
Pay your ticket, seeum,
In Hollywood's museum.
Paisley is the handle,
Stiff, dripping like a candle,
Just a manikin in wax.
No birthday's, no gray, or wrinkle.
In purple paper, wrap a lost chord!
You float above a cherry moon,
Wing it, sing it, it's your last tune.
Spirit vaporized, name that's canonized,
And all your data to be analyzed.
Precious purple, a periwinkle sprinkle.
Always cry for love, never cry for pain;
Elevé, do rise, caught up, surprised!
Don't stare sleeping there,
Death upon the stair.
No liquor, no last flicker,
No barcode, no heart quicker,
An April snow has left you sleeping in the rain.
i look to stars and wishes flew through space never to be heard again
fun to friends hearts do meld and break facing until time ends
this loop that plays and beats that syncopate become but a gem
pleasure a chest opened in surprise feeling no need to defend
galaxies away lonely planets  please keep me in mind
 distance could grow something fond or lost between the lines
gps my love you can see  its still where I  left it behind
thoughts fade away with life love lives forever in my rhyme
Im sorry, I wanted more,with  all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away
without air i couldnt breathe squeezed until I'm passing by
no water flow my skin would dry and I return to the sky
sunny days would blacken out, attracting need for desperate lies
to make up for the beauty lost from death slowly closing my eyes
that fire once sparking motion snuffed in huffs slipping away
drifting I sway shaky grounds where once I sat easily and stay
upon my feet I still float drowning out all thoughts that stray
Tho these ends can come swift its worse to miss and hear you say
Im sorry, I wanted more,with  all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away
down the road,flying free, I ride the wave and hope for your return
through several seas and cloudy peaks, storms of sand, I will not turn
helpless to fate and future events, nothing prevents something to learn
  sights may not sore, nothing much looking more, isn't my concern
I hope the best and happyness is true to bless you, not just in dreams
we can meet when we sleep discussing life while sleeping seems
thanks for trying Im not exactly dying, banes of  sentient beings
real enough moving on is rough, i'll love you forever, writting my means
We know her future could be bright
If not for death that snatched her dream
She was the queen among her mates
The few she left here said it all
If not for death that snatched her dream
While on earth she nurtured the best
The few she left here said it all
A jewel worth many to pens
While on earth she nurtured the best
She was the queen of her mates
The few she left here said it all
We know her future could be bright
Gone but not forgotten
You watch over all you loved
Life can be so rotten
Always in our hearts.
Sending subtle reminders
So that we don't forget
A drifting feather or ray of sun
Loved by all you met.
Fond memories,
Remembered forever,
Eternal light,
Delicate soul.
Gone but not forgotten
The star that never dwindles
The shooting star that shines like the purest gem
Life will never be the same
All the oceans in the world
Can’t hold the tears I’ve cried
Nothing in this world
Can take away this pain inside
I can’t believe you’re gone from me
I can’t believe its true
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you
I miss the little things you said
Those words that meant so much
I miss your eyes, your laugh, your smile
I miss your every touch
I miss you every morning
Every night and every day
I’d give all my tomorrows
For just one more yesterday
When they asked what words I want
Engraved upon your stone
The only words that I could say
Were ‘darling please come home’
You were my every reason
My hopes and all my dreams
Someone to believe in
When I questioned what life means
Always there to guide me
My forever shining star
I’d give my all to have you here
Or be there where you are
In a world of changes
It’s the soul that never dies
In a world of strangers
I still see me in your eyes
This pain will never go away
My shattered heart wont mend
Lonely days and empty nights
Are now my only friend
But if you’re looking down from up in Heaven
You will see
That part of you forever more
Will be a part of me...
Once, he had the most brilliant light
In Heaven, he'd been the star even at night
The most favored, the most beautiful
He never thought one day he'd become a fool
He was always pure, never felt insecure
Until Heaven borne one special creature
And the angels cried, the angels wondered
What would happen if they are no longer favored?
Angels watched as Heaven gave the man a special woman
My beloved one walked away, flame in his hand
Why the special gift for a man made in soil?
That was when anger and envy started to boil
The most beautiful star sat alone in silence
Heaven's in peace, can he dare start a violence?
Yes, he would for the love of Heaven
So he called all his beloved brethren
War would never do good for anyone
He knew from the sight of blood in his hands
And stared at the ground where his brethren laid
From the bloody battle, my beloved angel turned away
His wings unfurled, made of pure Heaven and glory
They were as black as night, magnificent and lovely
He made once last glance as he begun to descend
He knew he made a mistake he could never amend
It was his nature, no other pleasure than flying
But his heart broke knowing that he's falling
He landed to the ground, broken and wounded
Tears from his eyes, he felt ashamed and abandoned
He stood alone in the middle of the night
His wings dimmed, slowly fading its light
For the first time, he felt the rain on his skin
And for the first time, he shivered from the coldness of the wind
He looked up and saw his brethren
Why did they follow him, he's a Fallen
They bowed their heads, still loving him
So he decided, He's Lucifer and no longer the Son of the Morning
SHOOTING STAR
The Shot...
They killed.
Their hate...
They willed.
The blood...
It spread.
From heart...
To head.
The gun...
Was pressed.
A scream...
Was stressed.
Wild eyed...
Prayer said.
and Bang...
You're dead.
The Shot...
Their hate....
The blood.....
From heart.....
The gun....................
A scream............................
Wild eyed...........
and Bang.
They killed.
They willed.
It spread.
To head.
Was pressed.
Was stressed.
Prayer said.
You're dead.
We clad ourselves in colors as we march,
saluting independence through a foggy dream;
gazing at the night alight with flashes,
sparkles,
and firefly screams.
Rockets made in China, cascade/
to the backdrop of the Star Spangled Banner;
a flutter to the wind blown flags made in Brazil
and "I Love America Pins" upon our lapel;
(made in Mexico).
We stand on oceanfront (it’s owned by France)
gazing ‘pon the open sea,
the port is owned by Saudis/
but at least we stand here free.
Our hands steadfast upon our chest,
saluting whichever freedoms still remain,
those freedoms, their going fast;
and they’ll disappear one day.
We gaze into the abyss of night,
the twinkling tears that kiss our cheek,
immersing ourselves in awe of moment,
before it fades our dreams to sleep.
We stand enamored with this land,
the love that lurks within our hearts,
we celebrate this love/
...in part;
fore tomorrow, standing is banned.
His name was John Manty,
Who hailed from a shanty
A shanty where slums;
Were not at all scanty.
He had a big dream,
Every day he used to scream
He was singing a nice song like;
Neapolitan ice cream…!!!
He wanted to be a star,
And drive his own car
One day at the bar;
He heard of “super star”.
He went for the audition,
Of the " super star" competition
He won it and then became;
A rich and pop musician.
He earned alot of money,
And spent on things so funny
When debtors came for money;
he hid himself under the gunny!
He could not pay his rent,
And he had not even a cent
He gave the key to the owner;
And to his shanty off he went......
"How can I go back to the shanty"?,
Wondered ex-star poor John Manty
He jumped from the Great old bridge;
And that ends the story of Manty.......!!!
Mom,
 I always thought
 you would be there to help me
 shop for a prom dress,
 get ready for graduation,
 plan my wedding,
  or raise my own children.
So, now that you're gone,
I look up at the stars.
I realize you are
The brightest star
 and you're still always there
 to guide me.
I miss watching my Luck man run,
Sweat glistening in the morning sun;
The smell of leather in the frigid air,
Tossing his head without a care;
The soft sounds of the stable yard,
The only place I let down my guard;
Telling secrets to my horse,
Just letting nature take it’s course;
The confidence he gave to me,
My Lucky boy, my trusty steed;
He leant me courage I never had,
He was always there, through good or bad;
My shoulder to lean on, by best friend,
He was there for me up to the end.
Maybe there's just one star in the sky.
Harbor it, keep it, you and I.
Our secret gem, our weekend retreat,
char on the path to which we sneak.
A day of rememory of the crisp night air.
12:10 in the woods; sweet speech in my ear.
Drissle turns to downpour which electrifies the dark.
A towel dabs a leak where the roof splits with bark.
I vaguely remember slipping into a taxi.
A light! Our star! Seen from the back seat.
Another! Two stars? And more, and more
lining the way to my front door.
Too many! That's enough!
They are burning my face!
Oh no! Oh dear!
And it all went blank.
i’m lost.
wandering my mind, hollow now.
secrets tucked in the seams, invisible to passer-bys.
each step leaves an imprint behind,
dust settling into the crevices left by my toes.
the world empty,
immune to stolen glances between souls and half-hearted exchanges.
peace swept away,
pushed to the side by an old broom of straw and wood.
oxygen dissipates,
I try hard,
harder to breathe.
but all that is left to soothe my lungs
is the empty, grey air,
void of the warmth of shared space
.
sometimes I sneak away
to send a fluid rush to my veins,
entrancing my mind in a fictional fantasy.
alone, I bathe in my secrecy,
cleansing my skin with vibrant truths.
When parents don't have a choice and die
And all alone survive the loss
As I lie down to sleep at night
They send in dreams... A Star For Me...
When Motherhood gets disappointing
And all alone survive the loss
I borrow scissors from my heart
With trembling hands I cut... A Star For Me
When trains don't stop and soul mate's gone
And all alone survive the loss
I row my boat on lakes with moons,
I jump and catch reflections of... A Star For Me
When I am old, and years fly by
And all alone survive the loss
I won't be sad, would even smile
As I lie down, a final sight...
This is a Romer & Juliet Poem.
I love that book.
------
Victims of fate,
Running out of hope.
Hoping to get back together,
To be with their loved one forever.
Wishing to hold on to each other,
These star-crossed lovers.
The plans that never worked,
The ideas that had failed.
Soon this entire fate,
Will bee mislead cause of their demise.
Wishing to kill for one another,
These star-crossed lovers.
Always to be remembered.
This wife Juliet,
And her Romeo.
To love one another,
These star-crossed lovers.
These victims of fate.
They could have had hope.
These star-crossed lovers,
Will always have love.
Mazzy Xibalba Star (Into Dust)
Skin...
Crawling...
Restless then gone, I mend.
Come hide, Today.
Come hide me, away.
My frowns, broken for you.
When Xibalba, leaves us as dust.
And her name, it, slowly becomes
us...
Our minds trembled when hearts
came near.
I should, obviously be jaded,
But find, in the midst of pain.
I could heal myself, crossing over.
I could steal what's left of all my
faith,
Wonder your fate...
There you are, restless through
dawn.
With Xibalba, leaving us as dust.
And her name, it, slowly, becomes
us...
Burning out for us...
Burning out for us...
Ashes, a commanding presence of ashes
The sparkling blade edges of a once upon star
The surrendering will of a fighting soul
The unspoken word, in the mingling of mockery
The forgiving memory of an ecstasy
Some things just got to give
Before the tablets of gold are unseen
There is a heaven underneath
Elegance so deep and intense
Like the captivating black shimmers
Of a frame gripping stallion
Maybe the eyes of doves are farfetched
Maybe the sun stricken sky is too high
Or just maybe the stars will never shoot
After all, our courses must vary
Or else there will be no queens
No audience to watch the proud peacocks
We all stand in our story line
Hope clustered worn souls
Searching for our silver lining
In the awakening moonlights gaze
Eagerly waiting for our plate of silver
Yet even when the last plate is served
We need not shed a thousand tears
Because soon the diamonds will bow
And we will unwind the willing hearts
That they may fly above the seas
Of this earth’s invention
Cut through the notorious waters
With deep piercing innocent eyes
Can you see what I see?
The reflection is clear and crystal
Heaven is just
Come with me
Deep in the stars
We shall lie upon this grass
For a few hours, touching
Gently blow a kiss
Into the depth of the sky
And all apologies
Shall be caught in eased sigh
Allow me to lead you through this world black
Around it and back
You wear pain
As though chains
Were embracing all loves luxuries
Alas we will not die in slight defeat
Waiting for the night to stare
A star gazing through your eyes
Knows you truly do care
And slightly dims when you cry
For there is a star in the sky
And a glow in the moon
Guiding your way with its light
Tranquility will subside soon
So if you believe in pretend
And reach way up high
The stars angel shall descend
Abolishing all tears from your eyes
It’s painful to you
So is the truth
Can’t you understand?
Words are forgivable
For when we clasp our hands
They become retrievable
Now words are meaningless
And forgettable
Far too late to change events
Time for consequence
Again you kiss the sky
Wave your goodbye
A star smiles and begins to cry
Washing away all pain
You arise from the grass
In the warm blanket of tears in rain
Tame thy shattered heart, with thou tragic tears;
of lost love tyrannies, of many truth less years.
I give you back my heart, fort it’s near a bust;
a ruptured, leaking vessel, pumps hatred and lust.
As the stars shine brightly, they softly speak your name;
the tongue slips gently, and casts it’s shameless blame.
Near a deadly defeat, of a broken spiritual bliss –
Casts one vibrant, beautiful star, which we’ll forever miss.
I’ll relinquish this guilt of who must now be found;
this diminishing self-serving star, whose now never around.
As the night turns into darkness, I’ll search for that star –
just to capture a glimpse, of this brilliant stellar very far.
And when I’m sad and lonely and are in need of my friend;
I’ll always remember that fading star and this broken heart I tend.
I’ll close my teary, weary eyes, and cast a wish far above –
Shine, shine little star – so brightly filled with love.
This wall stands stronger
Stronger than any man
Yet so difficult
It was to defend
Completely out matched
Thunder came in the dark
But those on the wall
Put up one hell of a fight
The wall never ended
Nor was it straight
Yet inside those men
Had doom as fate
Those who are left
With nothing to lose
Immortally fight
As if death they choose
After days and nights
Sleep came to none
Fate had came
At the rise of the sun
Heroes are made
In this very spot
This place where our ancestors
So valiantly fought
And fight they did
Taking far more than given
Unstoppable sit the man
Who is cause driven
Surrender they could
Lives may have been spared
Where would we be today?
If our men had been scared
Heroes and legends
Were made at this spot
This spot where our ancestors
Oh, so valiantly fought
