Ode to a rose on a sunset

A kiss from a rose on a sunset night,
as the clouds dip into the sea.
A kiss from that rose as the waves fall,
over the beach to a rose kissed me.

A kiss from a rose on a sunset night,
as we wrap in lovers embrace.
A kiss from a rose as homeward we go,
to a bed clothed in satin and lace.

A kiss from a rose on a sunset night,
with passion and warmth do we grasp.
A kiss from that rose that blossoms and blooms,
my hand in her labour pain clasp.

A kiss from a rose on a sunset night,
that wanton and curvy young bride.
A kiss from that rose that huddles our babe,
so loving, in motherly pride.

A kiss from a rose on a sunset night,
without whom I'd not share my life.
A kiss from that rose who selflessly filled,
the place of my darling rose wife!

He Left Her a White Rose

Its the morning after the night before
As i leave my new wife, whom i lovingly adore

My orders came through, overseas i head
With my band of brothers, not knowing what's ahead

Married for days, whilst conflict takes him away
Holding sheets where we slept, my memory bouquet

At the bottom of our bed, there lies a virgin white rose
With a note beneath i am in momentary froze

I sit and stare as to what it might say
Knowing this is the day my love flies away

My darling Tinks i leave this white rose for you
Its pristine appearance describes my darling so true

It symbolises you, so innocent so pure
With your love in my heart, i will return i assure

Think of the day, from these distant lands from beyond
For the morning after the night before, we will respond

This virgin white rose, so bridal so pure
You and its safety i will secure, for you to return for our future

The day you come home, it shall lay on our bed
And we will continue our lives, as you have always said

I will go about my tomorrow's, thinking of you every day
And prey that this virgin white rose, never turns deathly grey

The Black and the Red Rose

Scarlet red rose
Flower for my wife
My pillar of strength
Partner for life
But the other side of me
Is the rose in satin black
Part of the man i am
The side i sadly lack
I can walk in through the door
And kiss my loving wife
I can say i worked late
The other side of my life
While my wife's at home
I am driving in other towns
Picking up the ladies
In the back seat, settle them down
Showing no remorse
This black rose i wear
If she ever found out
Heart rendering tear
Arriving home usually late
My loving wife in anxious wait
Met with a kiss, i internally cry
To do this to her, i ask myself Why?

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Rose Wine

Your strong hand
beneath my head
my Love in your Blood
turned from friendship
did spread
into More
the first time you
took my Hand
and traveled every
line, of my Flesh land
the way you reflect your soul
Into my Eyes,
makes me forget my small stature
shape, size
in this world
I wish to carry your
future child
be it boy or girl
be them strong of spirit
Smarts of street and class
leaders of Eminence
Sweet mixed with Sass
I see this future
as I fall head first, spilling
into your secure embrace
like a single bottle of Rose Wine
Down to the last Taste

the rose

red rose full of passion
given to your love for her desired passion
the smell alone sends a message of passion
two hearts in the mist of the nights passion
leads to passion
because of one red rose

Rose Petals

Glowing and white, pure liquid flowing
My heart is expanding.
And I hear angels singing a song that fills my soul.
Rose petals are falling.

A slow steady walk, a gentle loping grace.
My smiling man in all black
So gorgeous. So perfect.
So mine.
My face is shining.
The angels are singing.
Rose petals are falling.

A steady warmth
So strong, and so deep
That gentle heat fills me to my core
And I find myself falling

Rose petals are falling.

Shadowed Path

Thru a shadowed path, down a shadowed lane
Two lovers walk, the moonlight to gain.
The beauty of the walk is as beauteous as their love,
Shared thru a kindness, a reverence, and the touch of a hand.

A meadow comes into sight to eventually espy
Mists swirl in mystery as they begin to walk by.
But a fragrant rose pulls them, their attention drawn
Thru the gates of an old house they gently begin forth

Who in love lived here long ago, now unseen?
What trials, what future, had they seen?
Their love built a life, and of course this home
Would that their lives could be so generously strewn.

Two lovers that lived so very long ago
And thru the years were repeatedly, celebrated so.
Now, two more have come as the man goes on bended knee
He picks the rose and delivers it up with a ring

He has bought this old house, a glorious old thing
To inspire her to wife, to repeat once more, an old beautiful dream
May the tale of this house and the old love it has seen
Inspire a new couple to a great life once again.

The Single Red Rose

My husband came inside with love in his eyes,
Carrying a beautiful red rose that was his secret prize.
He said, “Little Babe, look what I have for you…”
It was a flawless red rose still glistening with dew.

Moments like that are frozen in time,
Memories of a love that was at its prime.
Today we have separate lives, but the memory is still sweet.
A single red rose will always make my heart skip a beat.

Why the Rose Always Cries

Night after night, she sits down and contemplates
In her mind she knows her loss, but still she sits and waits

He, her husband, another statistic he has become
Killed in a far away land, another soldiers blood has run

Day after day she's taken back, to moments they had shared
Carving their names on a tree, showing teenagers cared

Through green fields of pastures new, season after season
At fourteen years old they clicked, love was a reason

Whilst she paces their family home, his steps gone forever
Killed in a far away land, another life now severed

In her time their kids will be told, daddy's never coming home
For the angels have asked him to stay, just to let him roam

Memories of their pasts resonate within her mind
For she knows she'll find no other, for he was one of a kind

Outside the window where she stares, under many seasons skies
She sits down and contemplates, why the Rose always cries

Remembering One Red Rose

Ascended below the twilight, she wails holding his gold wedding ring- Bemoaned in darkness one red rose was left as an adored remembrance... Life without love is l o s t... Her pain and her loss reveals her forfeited fight, she bleeds for a touch from an angel's ease- U n r a v e l e d and despondent she longs to know, why he didn’t tell her... about his deadly disease. Mercy can’t mend woe- The truth wouldn’t set her free while grief led to her fate... She dies from a broken heart- On their tomb lays o n e red rose... Rev My Throttle

As last rose of summer opens wider
Night is drawing nigh, rose cutter in hand
The rose clipped in its best stage; placed in cider
Jar that was used up, cleaned_now it will stand

Jar of cider was enjoyed long ago
Remember that day on our honeymoon
You were so young with raven hair my beau
We found that road side stand that afternoon

Bought that jug of cider that was so cold
Refreshing after long ride around mountain
So eager for life that we would build_hold
Hold each other_life; wanting to obtain

I clip that rose_place in memory bottle
One memory revs my motor throttle

The plastic rose

She sits beside a headstone
Three roses in her hands
Two which were freshly picked
One made of plastic to the touch

The number of roses she chose
Represent the number of years
Since they became husband and wife
A time of celebration, the day they start their life

She knew one day it could happen
Though it was kept in the back of her mind
That one day he would get his call
And never return to her arms at night

The reason she picked two live roses
And one plastic to the touch
Two represents the two of their hearts
The plastic means their love will never die

Though sad, she waits patiently
To be reunited with her love
She'll keep adding to those roses
Always remembering a plastic one

Forever-Part 2

Pacabells cannon starts to play. The gates open and everyone looks my way. Beautiful black and red roses line the red carpet that leads to you. You look amazing tonight too. I look at my white dress as I step into the setting sun. The light catches the black sparkles and roses on my dress and makes me look beautiful, makes me feel like one. A black rose on this beautiful LA sand. A black rose that belongs to a wonderful man. I slowly walk down the aisle. I walk up to you and I smile. There's black and red roses on the alter and I get up ther. I can smell their sweet fregrance in the warm evening air. The paster starts as I look at you. You say you vouls and I say mine too. You say "I do," and I do the same too. You slip yet another beautiful ring on my finger and kiss me so sweetly. We hold hands and walk back down the beautiful rose lined aisle.

We walk to the peir where there are beautiful lights hung up everywhere. I spin to look at the beauty and you lean in close to me and say, "wait here." You walk up to the DJ and request and smile as a familure tune comes on. I continue to smile and I take your hand. you walk me back out onto the beautiful sand. "Our first dance," you say. My smile gets bigger when I here Amazed starts to play. You pull me closer to you as we start to move from side to side. My nourvousness is hard to hide. "You okay beautiful?" you ask softly as you gently run your hand through my hair. "Yeah baby, I'm fine," I say as I see people gather around and stare. We dance and we sway sweetly and quietly. We kiss and dance slowly. We kiss again and you start to sing along with the song. I've been waiting for this day, I've been waiting so long.

We'r walking on the beach again. hand in hand. you still in your tux, I'm still in my dress. This is our future. Together. Forever. The setting sun catches my ring. It shines brightly. "I love you," I say and we kiss again. "I love you too," you say and gently pick me up.

You carry me back up to the house. You carry me up sairs and lay me on our bed. You lay beside me and gently kiss my head.

We lay there and talk for hours and hours. We smile and laughas our future stretches on in front of us.

Text Rose

If I had a rose I’d send it to you,
From my heart to yours, cos our love is true.
But roses don’t last they fade and then die,
Not like the love we share you and I,
So this is my rose, a text to your phone,
To open and read when you feel alone,
Just so you know I’ll always love you,
Wherever we go, whatever we do xxx

Meretricious Rose

In the night I wake to find you
Not in bed, only a pillow, which I wetted it
Once, with tears of wrinkled time
Lingers silently, beside me

Oh God, not again, I thought
My sleepy round eyes try to search
In the stillness of the night, where they
Slowly deflating like a worn tire

I keep my fingers crossed that you’re
In the kitchen drinking ouzo, your favorite
Yet, my mind is bursting in paroxysm
Of unusual, silent rage

But then, I heard sound, a familiar music
Wafting out from the blue room
As I peer through the half-opened door
The dim light helped me see you, the real you

Lying, in contentment, with your admirer
Her eyes perfectly closed, and your soft falsetto
Makes her enjoy the warmness
Of your blood in the cold winter night

She has your smile, and she’s just like you
Full of secrets, but only not yet spoken
Why do I find, every time, without you near me
That I am this meretricious rose

Red Rose

Give me a red rose,
fill each petal with your love.
Allow the tenderness of your eyes
to peruse the pastel approvingly.

Give me a red rose,
as deep and passionate in colour as can be found.
Let it run across my cheek,
falling with your hand like a star.

Give me a red rose,
straight from the garden in your soul.
Nurtured with the light of your eyes,
the beats of your heart.

Give me a red rose,
that depicts the passing hours in your arms.
Not as a blase' depiction of love.
It is a metaphor. It is the blossoming of beauty.

Give me a red rose,
leave the thorns attached.
Don't avoid the cuts and pain - they will heal
letting the stem hold tighter to the smile.

Give me a red rose,
I'll give you eternity. A speckled sparkle
in a raindrop that clings to the colour.
A moment that lives for eternity, beyond the vessel.

Best friends we became
Slowly it turned into more
Afraid to say it at first
I was not sure you felt the same
Then you asked me out
It was very apparent
We belong together
Our love is special
Like the beauty of a

We have weathered some storms
Came out stronger
Proving we can do it
We will last forever
With you, I want to spend the rest of my life
Thank you my wonderful husband
For choosing me
For loving me
I love you too
Like the beauty of a

We may not be perfect
We may have our differences
However, in the end
Our love always shines through
God must have put us on this earth
With the soul purpose of
Finding each other
Loving each other
He must have known
Our love would last forever
For when he brought us together
We did the rest
Now our love is
More beautiful than a

A Magic Rose

I stare at a rose on a vine
It is red as wine,
Looks so peacefully, and just sits there like it stares back
I touch the rose
It sends a magic signal to inside my whole body
The rose pulls my body into a deep trance
Somehow I know I need to pull my hand back
The trance that I'm in is stronger than my power
Then, I see these two images like people
A man, and a woman
Laughing, and talking
Even though I can't see a clear vision of who they are
The woman sound like me
The man sounds like my husband
I close my eyes and try to get a better vision
Then, open them
I see my husband and I
But how could this be?
My husband is dead!
A voice echoes through me and the trance
I can't make the voice out to understand what it is trying to say to me
I train my mind to get a better hearing of the voice
Every minute is coming clearer
Finally I heard and understood
This is a re-run of my husband and I on our first date
Finally I realized what was happening
The rose is a magic rose
People who touches this rose, send them back through time
It was never in my mind
That has my husband gave me a sign?
Could it be explained?
Or was it maybe the rose bring back good memories and replace them from bad
Who knows?
It's a mystery.
I finally came out of the trance
I was feeling fine now
better than I was before
I will always remember that rose on vine,
Whenever I need comfort, I can come to that magic rose!

The Rose Tattoo - For My Husband

To my one true love
I give you this gift
That is everlasting
That will remain
On my body
As a testament of my devotion to you
Until my last breath

My heart is breaking because of my bitter regret
For I owed you this homage long ago
I just hope this long awaited tribute
Takes you to cloud nine
Blissfully causing your heart to sing
For above the rose tattoo
The name of my heart's desire is displayed
An attestation of my love for you, my darling

I make you now a gesture
With love for you, a token
I give to you a single rose
With whispered words now spoken

I love you, darling, please now know
As this rose then serves to say
I wish to give the entire world
As my love is on display

Please take this to your bosom,
Place it gently, keep it still
For love I give is fragile darling
But yet, it’s iron willed

On days when you don’t see me
As thoughts then come to mind
The love I have for you my dear
Is the rose, set to remind

Solitary Rose

You tipped your hat
We parted ways
At your suggestion
But, at my despair
As I approached my doorstep
I saw a single black rose
Looking so bitter and alone
I picked it up and took it with me
And placed it on my chest as I lay in my coffin
