Beloved, lovely roses: gift of God and lover’s flower,
Spread your colored petals and cradle tender showers.
While admiring the blossoms with their beauty to behold,
Ought we not to know the Tender of such lovely garden groves?

For He lovingly and thoughtfully wields His pruning shears
To cut away the stems of old for fuller future years.
He cultivates and feeds them. He attends them as a Father
Looking daily to their needs; so faithfully He waters.

From the dawn of morning dew until the setting sun arrays
Caring always for His own until that great appointed day…
When the Gardener comes to claim each one the earth held as its own.
He gently picks it at its peak and for His pleasure takes it home.

As God did one glorious morning, when the Perfect Rose had bloomed.
He rolled away the stone and met with Mary at the tomb.
There the sweetest Rose of Sharon rose that we die not alone.
But be gathered for a garden grove, surrounding heavens throne.

Here lies too great gentlemen, father and son.
Named after Edgar Alan Poe, so great a man was he.
But now, alas! They are now where Poe is,
There spirits having returned to God until that Glorious Day.

It was for you and me,
That Jesus left His throne,
Bore the scourge and agony,
Shivered His flesh and bone,

It was for you and me,
He took the awry tour,
Towards the dreaded Calvary,
Summed His tortured hours,

It was for you and me,
That Jesus bore the cross,
Paid the greatest penalty,
That death supposed be ours,

It was for you and me,
He wailed the gloomiest cry,
It was for you and me,
Jesus was nailed to die,

Oh, that you and I may see,
Our wickedness beyond measure,
Jesus to set us free,
In our stead bore the torture,

His love mysterious great,
Knocks the door of all men's heart,
His mighty power recreates,
Renews our lives whole to restart,

It was for you and me,
When on the third-day death sufficed,
The savior left His grave,
Victorious he arised,

He rose back to His throne,
Sitting by His Father's side,
Prepare! He's coming soon,
Today is to decide,

Firelight ghost stories entertain the dark starless evening. Young eyes plead, tell me a ghost story please!

On a dark moonless, starless night much darker than this night, four young teenagers were cruising in dad's car on a deserted back road. The car made a pop then ceased to ignite. The teens were stranded in a dark lonely spot eery and too quiet for comfort's sake. Upon considering their options the youth decided to walk back to the last house they had passed SEVERAL miles back.
Together they took out on foot in the pitch black; stumbling sometimes running hoping for a miracle. When they got closer to town the old Mauk graveyard was a short cut to home. They decided to take their chances in the grave yard. Many years ago unknown to the youth. Bart Blame was hung for his murderous ways and buried in an unmarked grave toward the southern darkest corner of the cemetery. Bart swore to take all the souls he could into the firey depths of hell. Bart vowed to not go alone to the firey pit.
As the teens walked along, one youth John stumbled and fell into a hole up to his waist and began screaming. "Somethings got my legs, they're on fire!! Help me!!" His friends grabbed him and pulled him out of the hole and discovered it was an old grave.
There was a red glow that morphed into a boney hand then a full skeleton rose up out of the grave with and evil laugh said, "You dare disturb me, Bart Blame! I will not go back to hell alone. Your souls will accompany me tonight" The boys took off running
trying to find their way to safety. They ran until the red burning skull was in front of them laughing. The boys began to retreat away from the evil when they noticed only three running through the woods. Fear overcame the boys and they split up. John decided to cling to the church cross calling on the name of Jesus all night. He clung to the cross calling on Jesus to save him. In the mornig light John was the only one left and the other's bodies were in the grave of Bart blame burned beyond recognition.

I studied your Word with care,
and you wrote my name up there.
I knelt before You in love,
and You lifted me up like a dove.
I gave this short life that belonged to me,
and You gave me a perfect eternity.
You rose from your tomb,
So we could forever bloom.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. -John 11:25-26

    Since our first breath
    And our first desperate cry
    We are doomed, cursed,
    And destined to die.

    No man can run
    from this desolate fate
    'Cause only God knows
    Our pending death date.

    This flesh that you see
will soon be nothing but bone,
    Buried in dirt,
    Isolated and alone.

    Every tick of a clock
    Is an ominous sound.
    To my eternal grave
    I am forever bound.

    Maybe I should be happy
    to be living now instead.
    Or perhaps I am now already dead;
Perhaps now I am already dead...

Once a very long time was born a perfect, righteous man
He died upon a rugged cross, but yet, He rose and lived again.
Jesus died that day but in the grave He didn't really stay
From the clutches of sin and death He broke for us the chain
As the boulder from his sepulcher rolled away they said.
I am so glad to believe that Jesus came in order to save us all.
And now between our Heavenly Father and us there's no more a wall.
Because God to this earth His only Begotten Son He sent.
And Jesus in total perfection his whole life He spent.
But upon the cross He chose for us to bear our sins.
He definitely did it all for us out of Love.
He absolutely did it all just for you and me…
He died while pleading forgiveness to His Heavenly Father above.
Yes, death couldn't keep Him down as He rose again that day.
The grave was found emptied and Jesus was never seen there
And Jesus bought with his Precious blood our sins that day.
The stone just rolled away and Jesus lives in my heart everyday.
Jesus has risen! And He lives! He can wash your sins and mine.Be thankful and pray.
Jesus my king and Savior lives and always will be here for you and me.

POEM FOR JESUS

It’s because of Jesus, that I’m here today!
I will serve him! All of my days!

It’s because of his mercy,
and love so sweet…
That I can lay all of my worries
 at his feet!

It’s because of the times
 he’s helped me…
He did this, because
 he loves me!

It’s because of his firm and guiding hand…
Everything I go through…
He understands!

It’s because of all this and so much more…
It’s him that I praise,
worship and adore!

This same Jesus is also here to YOU!
Won’t you receive him?
 What will you do?

Adapted from Acts 16:22-31

How long have I been a jailor here,
And from these men this is what I hear?
In the midst of their pain they sing and pray
And tell me how I must believe today.
That Jesus Christ was really God’s own Son
And all the things we did to Him were done
So all could have Eternal Life above
And live forever more in God’s great Love.
What if it were true what they say
Is there really more to life than day to day?
I’ve worked hard and tried to do things well
Is that enough to save my soul from Hell?

"At midnight Paul and Silas prayed,
and sang praises to God: and the prisoners
heard them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake,
so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and
immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's
bands were loosed."

At midnight that night I came awake
As suddenly the ground began to quake
To the broken jail I ran hastily
Knowing that all the prisoners would flee.
But how long have I been a jailor here?
And never have I seen men so sincere,
The bars were opened wide for all to flee
But they were still inside praying for me.

Oh! What must I do to be saved?
The sentence of death for me waived?
And be no more to sin enslaved?
Oh! What must I do to be saved?

"And they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

I believe and now I can freely say
That I want Jesus as my Lord today.
I believe from the grave He was raised
I believe in Jesus Christ and I am saved!

"And they spake unto him the Word of the Lord,
and to all that were in his house."

Loved ones gather ‘round and hear me tell
Of all that’s happened, please, listen well.
Jesus, whom we hung on a cross that day
He really Is alive again like they say.
He came to offer hope and life anew,
Just believe it is all you have to do.
By His amazing Grace He’ll save you all
He’s waiting even now to hear you call.

We believe and now we can freely say
That we want Jesus as our Lord today.
We believe from the grave He was raised
We believe in Jesus Christ and we are saved!

Paul had a near-death experience,
one of the most incredible ones...
he visited Heaven: the place of bliss!
And as he climbed the gold stairway,
he heard many familiar voices he had
known in the previous life...they happily
chanted glorifying God, who was seated
on an ivory throne surrounded by Archangels,
Saints and Prophets whom he remembered
from his Bible readings. He tried to look at
God's face, but he was blinded by an intense light...
more brilliant than the sun itself, then Jesus
approached with his out-stretched arms.
Paul smiled and was elated to have found salvation,
but Jesus kindly said to him, " Paul, your time
hasn't come yet, return to Earth and tell them! "
And briefly pausing He continued, " When that time
comes, your honorable name will be written
in the Book of Life, and angels will carry your new body
on their swift wings and you will enter Paradise! "
Paul's face was expressive of disappointment
and bitterness and weeping replied, " The people
of Earth deride a grave digger so groggy and grubby,
and they mock him with their delirious laughs;
I would rather be dead than return to them! "
" Go and show them your mercy! " Jesus commanded him.
Paul had only minutes before he would be buried,
so he rushed back and surprisingly saw a large crowd
attending his service as Father Michael, the Chapel's priest,
performed the last rites by splashing Holy Water
in and around the shadowy grave. They heard a knock
coming from inside of the coffin...Paul's voice became louder,
" I am alive, not dead...let me out! " Everyone was horrified
and shocked, but Father Michael ordered the mortician to open
the casket and let Paul out. Jubilation filled the chilly air,
and streaks of light filtered through the murky clouds...their shouts
were heard as far as the outskirts of town: Paul was alive!"
I sat with Paul the day after under the shade of a fragrant pine,
and he told me about his visit to Heaven with tremendous joy
and fervent faith. He admitted that he was wrong not to have
shown them his compassion and with the sincerest smile
he proclaimed, " My anger and grudge have vanished;
I have forgiven them...I am so glad to have returned! "

There before me was the cross
Where Christ was crucified
He gave his life on Calvary
So we could live in paradise

Tears began to roll down my face
In my life, I'd made many mistakes
There that day He'd taken my place
He forgave me, my sins He did take

They were washed away by His blood
He shed for me that very day
There they took Him to the tomb
Three days later, stone rolled away

He had risen from the grave
No longer in hell enslaved
Went back to heaven to be
Waiting for you and me

Only Solitary Man

there is a madman hiding amongst
the hills and those scattered tombs,

he's the perfect host for much shame
and his soul's the plaything of minion

accursed he cannot be bound by chains
but still he's a slave to confusion, insane

until one day he received the greatest gift
from the only solitary man offering hope...

Christ redeemed him and washed him anew
then sent the man to proclaim his freedoms

LXXIX
Death always wins the struggle at the end
Despair without delay then comes unbend
Depress the mind that often would extend
Discourage hearts when all our strength we spend
Despite of this we seldom condescend
Defeat to that which we cannot contend
Defend ourselves from whom we must depend
Disproves to us that death is not our friend
Deserted grave lay open that was lend
Dark emptiness three days that need expend
Due to the Lord of life the cave did rend
Delivers hope to all that he would send
Delightful day when heaven’s Lord descends!
Death’s reign ends when our soul to Christ commend
