Treasure of My Soul

I held an angel in my arms today,
A precious babe snuggled against my breast.
And my heart was overwhelmed with so much love,
As she lay contentedly at rest.

I watched her as she slept so soundly,
Gazed at her cherub face in sweet repose.
I marveled at her tiny features,
Like her dainty shell-like ears and button nose.

I brushed my lips against her downy head,
Her skin like velvet to my touch.
I gave thanks to God above for His priceless blessing
Of this little angel girl I love so much.

The birth of my first grandchild has awakened,
A joy that my soul cannot contain.
From day one my heart's been captured by her,
Firmly caught and held by love's strong chain.

Teenage Girls clad in the latest fashions,
Do it whenever they meet,
Grown men aren't afraid to show some passion,
When their team's comeback is complete,
They can say hello, they can say goodbye,
And anything inbetween,
If you open your arms and crack a smile,
There is nothing that a hug cannot mean.

My Micke boys

                To be called ..
            ~   Grandma is a Honor ~

        I have been blessed with 4 Grandchildren

       ~ one lays in Heaven " Kaleb " He is God's Angel ~
   ~ His twin brother he will always watch over , and be in his soul~

     For he loved his Brother so much in the womb ,
       he chose Heaven which gave life to his twin
      ~ I feel his spirit when I see the other Grandson ~
              Time passed another gift to see
               we are " Mickes" and Loved
            Our Dad held the title in Baseball
                   ~  that's how we roll ~
           those children are Grandmas hero's

       The Irish they love big and Family is everything
        The brothers will protect the beautiful sister
              ~ as many lads will be calling ~

        Every time my Grandson hits a home run
     There will be a Angel watching proudly in the stand

       It will be as if the Angel lifted him when he runs
           ~no one runs faster then my Grandson~
     either baseball or Art ~ you shall find your gift given

                These children have been blessed~
                 ~ a beauty to hard to describe
        If you think not ~~ Take a look at the Mom
                     That girl can stop Traffic
                    after raising three and still~

          "Inspired by the gift and loss of Grandchildren "

     May our precious " Kaleb " softly rest where Angels only Dwell

Summer Time

Summer Time
and in the spring
the children sprout
growing up until they old
reminiscing on the past
(Summer Time)...
 So innocent and young
growing old and wise
telling true stories
to the children eyes
some young become old fools
just make sure its not you
Summer Time
and in the spring
the children sprout
growing up until they old
reminiscing on the past
(Summer Time)...

Gorgeous baby girl, all dressed in pink,
Rosy little cheeks and the cutest of blinks.
All of your wishes we will make come true,
No one will ever hurt you or make you feel blue.
Dainty little princess with the cute little nose,
Darling little ears fingers and toes.
Angelic little lady, believe this is true,
Undying love, we will always give you.
Gently rocking you when you make a peep,
Holding you close, until you fall asleep,
Taking away any tears that you might weep.
Even when your being a little bit loud,
Remember sweet little granddaughter, we will be proud.

Written as a gift for my sister to welcome her first granddaughter :)

These Little Eyes

I watched her
dropping the phone,
in nano movements

My heart stomped
out, the harshness
of a dial tone

And from endless
holes, these little eyes
scrunched with sadness

I suppose, I didn't know
what it meant to die
or why the tears
stuck to me

Sickle celled with
every memory,
around the lobes
of my being

Where I could
still hear you laugh,
the breaths of air

Grew arms

-- and comforted me.

Behold The Moment

                                   Behold The Moment

                         Behold the moment,the future is here.
                         Our family is getting bigger every year.

                               The new child has arrived ,
                                    already loved by all.
                          Hold this special baby close to you,to
                              rock away the fears and kiss away
                                               the tears.

                        Take in every moment ,to share in the joy.
                               Let me shout from the hill tops so
                      everyone knows, our new child has all ten toes.

                         As the years go by and each one grows,
                        There is a new experince to be had by all.
                      A play ,a big game or off to college they'll go.

                          As we let go and they are on their own.
                              Never fret they'll soon be home.

                         Down the road ,each child will enlarge the
                               family with families of their own.

For An Abused Child

If I Could Have Gotten Your Embryo
Before You Were Born
I Would Have Sheltered You Safely
and Protected Your Form ...

I'd Have Put You In My Womb
& Flowed You Knowledge Like In A Tubric
& Patted My Expanding Belly
As I Played You Music

And As You Got Ready
To Arrive From The Birth Canal
You Would've Known My Breasts
Would Be Ringing Like Welcome Bells! ...

Eager To Suckle You
Breast Feed My Own Flesh & Nourish
So You Could Grow Strong
... In Love's Encourage

I Would've Held You In Wonder
& So Close Tenderly
Amazed At This Little Bundle,
Breathing, Piece of Me ...

And When You Turned One
Or As You Sucked Your Thumb
Or Eating Baby Food Jars of Plums
... I'd Have Given You Trumpets & Drums

... And Building Alphabet Blocks
& Superman Capes
& Stuffed Teddy Bears
& Oatmeal Cookies & Grapes

I'd Have Read You Stories
From Capt. Adventure Books
You'd Have Known You Were Loved
By My Proud Mama Looks

I'd Have Spent Time With You
Showing You How To Tie Your Shoe
Rocked You If You Caught The Flu
or Any Sniffles You Went Through ...

I Would Have Played With You
& Prayed With You
From Crawling To Walking
Paved The Way For You

Yeah, I Would Have Fussed At You
& When Needed Even Spanked You Too
& I'd Meant: This Hurts Me More Than You
'Cause You're The Little Symbiot, Mama Grew

So, You Would Have Known
You Were Loved & Treasured
You Would Have Known
Your Worth Couldn't Be Measured

Nor Compared To Anyone Else
At Any Point In Time
'Cause You Are The Best
Because You Were "Mine"

* * * * * * *

But I Never Knew You
But Believe Me If I Had ...
I'd A Made Sure You Had
A Loving Mom & Dad

And You Would've Never Been Abused
Or Treated Bad ...
But From Now On Find Your Joy
To Replace What's Sad

From sleeping through the whole night,
To cutting your first tooth to bite,

From watching you roll over,
To hearing your first word 'MUMMA',

From watching you crawl commando,
To seeing your first steps solo,

Your Nan has spent time with you nearly everyday,
And to be honest would have it no other way,

I've rocked you to sleep time after time,
Had you when you're sick giving your Mum piece of mind,

Cuddled you when you've been sad,
And told you 'No' when you've been bad,

Laughed with you when we've been playing,
Praised you when you're not misbehaving,

Just in one year you've developed at such speed,
First year milestones you've passed indeed,

Your presence is infectious you can't ignore,
Obviously an old soul you've been here before,

I think you've been sent to teach all of us,
Cause you're the perfect example of unconditional love.

First Spring

little hands clap
at first sighting
of a butterfly

little face smiles
at first sighting
of a sunflower

little fingers wriggle
at first sighting
of a centipede

little arms flap
at first sighting
of an eagle

little brow wrinkles
at first sighting
of a squirrel

little cheeks blush
at first sighting
of cherry blossoms

It was one of those mornings

It was one of those mornings
September 2, 1995
my baby girl was coming
I wish I would die!

It was another of those mornings
the first day of this year
my daughter experienced pain
but now my granddaughter is here!

JOHN 16:21
When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

Blessed by a baby girl; our bundle of joy
Rising as a beautiful stream, flowing in our hearts...ahoy!
Offering her back to God, so He will watch and keep,
Our precious little angel, she is one of His sheep.
Kinfolks come to visit and to show her love,
Little do they know there is nothing like Grandma's Hug.
Yet I love them all, they are my family,
No one will be left out because our God takes the lead.

JaNialah and Aamira

Two adorable exquisite little faces
Each with a darling petite tiny nose
Twenty precious flawless wee fingers
With twenty kissable miniature toes
Undeniably two of the sweetest babies in town
More exact two baby girls so very perfect
With some traits from their parents passed down
My desire is for their love and respect
I imagine both of their devilish sides
As I bend to kiss each of their cheeks
Aamira with mommy's attitude and lack of guilt
JaNialah's know it all attitude from her dad
Oh how their parents will too soon realize
The difficulties raising kids like I had
 I admire their views and beliefs
Thinking how they could do much better
Much better than I did in raising them
Their attitudes each of them being a go-getter
I hope their futures turn out as they each plan
And my granddaughter's lives are without turmoil
But silver linings with pots of gold at ends of each rainbow
And their parents tears I pray won't soak the earths soil

To Fifi

To Fifi

You look so cute just lying there
Squidgy cheeks and soft dark hair
You're just so perfect all I see
As you snuggle up to me
You make my cheeks hurt, silly grin
Glued to face ?? much love within

My time at last to understand
My role as 'Nan' to hold your hand
Can't wait to spend more love and time
With my grand-girl so sublime
Will soon be smiles and giggles too
I'll even change your nappy poo
Taken back to years gone by
When sung to daughters lullaby

Fifi oh so beautiful
Our love is indisputable
We'll love you while you're small and curled
And for ever 'til we leave this world
In meantime we will teach you things
'Bout 'olden days' that this life brings
Will try our best to chose words wise
About life before you opened eyes

Our dear sweet girl so much to learn
New roads to reach at every turn
We'll help you walk and write and smile
In others shoes to walk a mile
But mostly we will just be there
To laugh, have fun and always care

A Toddler Girl Named LeiNah

There once was the toddler named LeiNah;
Such a pretty young tang was ya could C  her;
She loves balloons and animals but to her dismay;
Her mother said no, no way, no animals at this house  this i say;
See ya daddy, Oh by the way here's a doll now go sit down you here!
My dear!!!

There once was a girl name LeiNah;
If you don't feed her on time she'll scream at you;
Supper better be good or should give you a right hook;
Her uncle calls her "Death Grip " ;
Her little hand holds you real tight better not get in a fight ;
Or she'll rock your night;
Hit ya so hard you won't your wrong from your right, GOOD Note!

And when she gets older, she'll make them bullies;
Hand over their shoes,
As they run away boo-who, boo-who boo who;
And just how old she is;
I AM ONLY 14 months, ya chump NO!  Really;
Unlike Lena Horne;
I'll make you sing soprano if you pull my hair;

I am not a Tomgirl, my Grandpa says I am a MANGIRL!!
Careful I'll steal your joy;
Now TMZ better spell my name right see;
Or I'm gonna tell my mom the real paparazzi;
An unlike " Destiny's Child " Say my name, Say my name;
Muhammad Ali "What's my name, What's my name;
Git it write, I spell my name

Don't mess with me or ya B barefooted and I'll have you shoes around my neck;
And the neck time you see me bully U  B  writing me out a check;
Now what's my name again
Say my name my new friend;
Spell it now
Git it right
My name is.......

LeiNah. And I'm glad to meet ya!!

Nashiya Lanae Lee Chiri

Let me tell you a story,from here and now
Of the sunlight, the flowers, the cats meow
One of a girl bright and as beautiful as can be
Siblings she has one, two, and then three

She loves them all with a fierce kinda feeling
A quality quite noble, daddy's girl is revealing
But daddy has her heart ,and he always will
It's strength and unwavering is almost unreal

Has the beauty of her mom,but hers a toothless grin
If ages were closer,she could be Aunt Brittany's twin
Beautiful dark curly hair,framing her sweet face
With strength that can break you with her embrace

Youngest of my grandchildren,the last best of all
She helps me out, likes my stories,and quite a fireball
She still says she misses me and loves me the best
Lover of so many things, she has a wide interest

Nashiya Lanae Lee Chiri a great snuggler by far
But no matter wherever in this life you are
Grandma loves you to the moon and back again
For one whose so young baby girl,my heart you did win

To my baby girl with the toothless grin! Grandma loves you!
