                                                              Granny Smith's are best
                                                                 Fold in memories

SWEET APPLE PIES

They were bright yellow and red
ma loved to bake apple pies
every Sunday morn
so hot out of the oven
with cinnamon scent
steaming as fresh bread
to delight
me.

Wednesday's after school treat,
A weekly tea-break,
Full of left-over delights-
Bread and sultanas,
Baked to perfection-
Hot,moist and

Mozzarella topped--
seared until golden.
