I cannot compete with something as painstakingly glorious as you
Envy is but a humbling tumble down a steep, rocky hill
I am crushed in your fits of glory—your screaming for passion
My approaches are absolutely wrong
Therefore my communication is a weak, ransomed victim
Your poison arrow frog skin rubs against my exposed body
I happily accept my fate
For your beauty surpasses the ephemeral pain of the infectious reign
My erroneous, inevitable downfall
I hold you up—I feel the need to keep you tall!
Michael the Archangel did not insult you once, Lucifer
How then will I?
How can I possibly be higher than you?-
Why would I want to?
I admire your freedom
I simply disregard your macrodomes of ever-worshiped flaw
If I could allow myself, I would share in your glory
Only to add to it further
But as I am poisoned with the truth
I can only be your grounded pedestal
And though you flee from humility in its wake upon my brow
I realize everyday you are living for the grounded now
And I merely look to the unknown future
A place I dread where you unwillingly hold me up
Bonded in the ground with Death and Hades
You become my pedestal, and the worms my vineyard
My parasitic feet seer your glory
I am ever so sorry
I never wanted this renown

There was a time I do recall
When you overtook me in my sleep
I cried aloud in helpless acceptance
But soon I was forced in a croak of laughter
I felt your bitter poison
I felt pride at last
I thank you for it
I thank you for showing me

What I will never be

Dear Lucifer,
Provoke me no longer to praise your eternal existence
Generations of Evening take a hold of me now
And the fruit must be shared

Shades of Poe , Speaketh

Shades of Poe oft run in my veins
dark, dirty little splashing stains
No Raven stirs my battered heart
nor any signs on my astrology chart

Dark mysteries seep in at night
shadowed beings birthing fright
Muffled sounds sent to alarm
evil crying to scare and harm

Then my soul cries out to Poe
help me now , for you must know
Remedy for this sad affliction
a spell to give quick eviction

Reply creeps slowly back to me
close your eyes to sadly see
Darkness that drives men mad
such my heart and soul once had

No cure can by me be so gifted
you need Light to be so uplifted
My words are my aid little as is
answer you seek can only be His
Son of Light only can save you
my darkness left me only that clue!

Robert J. Lindley 10-12-2014

note: Tis' the month the Dark spreads
its evil mists to kids tucked in beds,
scary voices crying muffled shouts,
battles and shadowed little bouts,
goblins, ghouls and witches now abound
imagine such and they are then found!

Live Or Die, You Couldn't Do Both

Upon that dark ground, life was bloody and blue
all dark mists brought more than was due.
Dusty storms, blew about with black hands of Fate
lost as hurt seemed to escalate.

Within hidden shrouds, nights ate sad, dying souls
you cried within odd rhythmic rolls.
Never again, never again, your sworn oath
live or die, you couldn't do both.

Crying for rest on that spirit-eating ground
dancing along but with no sound.
Whenever that rare day's gleaming sun did shine
you grabbed it fierce, saying its mine.

Greatest of dreams was life would find saving lights
hope shown, banishing blackest nights.

Under the care of sun and rain
My leaves have unfurled
My buds have burst forth
My own will has been done
This was my beginning
Through the seasons
Spring brought me to life
Summer grew me to new heights
The fall must come sometime
The frost will encase my barbs
And I will return to meditation
Waiting patiently for my rebirth
For your light to peek through clouds
Your moon to hold me within night
When spring returns...
I will dance in the wind
A never ending flower

Deep in the earth, a crypt of rock
slumber guarded by casket locked
Lips grope silence ‘ever more
 rasping thought, remembers whispered lore
Outstretched palms the roots do clench
tranquility stilled by festered stench
And eyes, sleep caked, are propped ajar
ignites no life, but collapsed star

Burned blades sigh, Winds’ dying gasp
bones brittle snap within her clasp
A lonesome howl the moon does draw
vigil broken, it twists its maw
Upon an arena of endless stone
the granite gates they’ve passed alone
And entered a world of burning eyes
eluded the judge of smoldering cries

A faultless gait, no stumbled draw
a reaping brought by scythe and claw
Opal edge which shrouds a cause
aberrant blade shapes nature’s laws
Dictate a script, the stars can share
an open secret, a language bare
Steps continue, feet are drawn
across gray grass, undying pawn

REINCARNATION THINKING?

Life is like a coloring book
with few or many pages
filled with complex
outlined images.

We are given a box of crayons
and are asked to color in the
background and spaces of the images

Sub-titles are allowed.

When the coloring book is finished
we are given a new one to complete.

C.A.K. 12-6-2012

REINCARNATION THINKING 2 -SOUL SEARCHING

Was I once before or never
Don’t know how or even whether

I was a firefly, a bird of prey
a centipede, a fish fillet?

A baseball fan to keep the score
a mockingbird, a carnivore?

A blossom in the midst of spring
a sign of what the day might bring.

A germ grown in a Petri dish
a chicken bone an unmade wish

All things and species could I be,
even remnants of a tree.

Of all of these, I leave this post,
I am for now what I am most.

CAK 7-23-2012

MORE QUESTIONS ON RE-INCARNATION

As 'core' beliefs thicken so,
does it leave us room to grow?
As aging souls say we must,
complete the cycle which was thrust
upon our bucolic living place
turned upside down in whorling space
searching for a redemptive life.

But for you, dearest one, do you not remember
before you arrived, you took this bucking horse of soul,
tamed it, labeled it and proclaimed it.
To become what you needed in order
that your ride be contained and controlled.
It's name is 'balance' and it keeps you level in the saddle
so you don't fall off.

10-3-2012

REINCARNATION THINKING 3 -

If, we are on a soul journey,
then what must that soul become?

A better soul? A wiser soul?
A sad soul? A learned soul?
Until one reaches the end of time,

There are so many lives to live out
to fully experience all aspects of this world.
Animals, plants - more souls searching?

One can speculate, but from my perspective
none of it makes sense.

CAK 4-03-2012

REINCARNATION ENDING

Was the Phoenix reincarnated?
Or was its embers reignited?
Perhaps before a lowly worm or soldier bee
or brown turned leaf upon a tree?
A seahorse, a shark, which fish shall I be?
In fisherman's net to be eaten by me?
And when the cycle is complete
and x equals x on our balance sheet.
Can we then rest in a celestial lair
with memories gone and unaware
of trials by all things forgotten?
If choose I must or chosen by me,
I'll remain in the stars and just wait to see.

Plea From A Dark Soul

Weep not in the sun for me
my wasted life spent in vain
 by death I did flee,
all but my shadow dwelt in pain

Utter not proud words for me
 years of drunken whoring feasts
 by death I did flee,
feeling no love, set loose my beasts

Deny not the fate I did earn
in my own just Hell to endure
 by death I so return,
leaving a black heart so impure

Cry not over my burial urn
 my deeds harvested bitter fruits
 by death I so return,
to languish in my dark roots!

 Robert J. Lindley 11-09-2014

note: Written from a dream, rather a nightmare that I had recently. As the darkness closed in the screams grew louder, the pain stronger and the heartaches
shouted for more agony.. Singe this sinner's hide with pain
 that makes the angels cry..
A voice speaks out, tis only the start , we have ages and ages to increase
 the torment and pain.
Time serves us this sweet delight , this lost soul now lives within our eternal night!

Quote for perspective--
Poetry is a bowl of cereal and if you are nice you get to add milk and a spoon.

Forgotten you
As your mind collects the memories of yesterday
Forgotten You
Epiphanies tie into knotty strings of realization
That very moment. . .
You merely exist

Back then. . .those smiles
Those. . .distant laughs
Some you remember by name
Gone now maybe
Like the exhalation of the wind
Others dispersed in the world of arbitrary happening
Like leaves from falling, man-made trees
There is no doubt that they have
Forgotten you

Activate the bomb
Ignite the fuse
And you’re on next year’s history book
Never forgotten
But drained of all remaining good

That smile you gave
That happiness
The warm embrace so long ago
Salt-coated with piles of rubbish
Over last remaining mental spurts of comfort
Evil, evil, evil, evil, EVIL. . .
Always absorbed and remembered
. . .though never forgiven. . .

All good and gracious sentiments
Packed up in a box set nonchalantly in Downstair’s storage
. . .that chair with the broken leg in the corner of the room
That mangled cobweb holding a dangling, lifeless spider
A drowned sailor’s hat drifting through the current of the ocean
The single tear from a soldier’s vigilant, memory-stricken eye
The frustrating thoughts of a mute
The unchanged. . .HATED deformations

Forgotten you. . .
One soul brings to light weary, unthought-of happenings
Wedged deep into what she can only imagine
With not even a hint of understanding
. . .of the pain. . . .of the bewildering distortions
Of the ugly. . .
One soul merely vomits sickly verse after verse

As humanity embraces its downfall
The poet hangs onto her unjustifiable, forgotten. . .

"It was a mistake", she said.
A tiny life swiped in seconds as
gods creation is rendered a
mere cluster of cells.
Returned back to heaven
hoping the return policy
wouldn't deny.
It was a mistake; a stifled cry

A lifetime of progress,
innovation, and memories down
the drain.
The notorious "what if"
squashed with plan b; no hopes
of a future.
A stifled cry

She could have cured cancer or
delivered world peace.
She could've fed the hungry
and housed the poor.
She could've been a Honors
Harvard medical school
graduate and your pride and
joy.
None are the magical christmas
mornings, first days of school,
or birthdays.
Terminated are the memorable
first steps and momentous
coos calling for "mamma".
No more possibilities. Now a
stifled cry.

"It was a mistake", she said.
A moment of carelessness and
selfishness translates into a life
lost.
Permanent.
Sent back into the arms of god.
An easy way out. A stifled cry.

Vainly Built Fires

Was it best that we demanded far too much?
Quiet corner to count our blessed days
Or waste away long childish hours and such
like still winds whipping across open bays.

Finding time, the enemy we all feared
We raced along hoping it would not come
Children their bawling eyes frozen and teared
full of conceit , arrogant and just dumb.

Time came on and plowed deep its fertile field
cutting down old, dried wheat and windblown weeds
Forever, its opposition it yields
to that ever growing new crops of seeds.

Man seeking eternal fleshly desires,
perishes in own vainly built fires.

In Dark Dreams

In dark dreams, seeing visions of the dead
behind veils of space and withered grapes on the vine,
we that live, love our pleasures so much instead
paying scant heed to the coming end of our line.

Ah, but Fate dances about with a wicked smile
in shoes that have no merciful souls,
seeing through our indifference and clever guile
often destroying our life's most cherished goals.

Consider the ant- toils hard but dies just the same
while we dance in folly, no soles on our shoes,
to Death we are all targets just the same
ignorant and blind, wading in with no clues.

In dark dreams, blessed if we wake before they slay
In dark dreams, blessed if we but live - yet another day!

            Tears Of Serious

Two rivers of silver approach you at a time by crying
Taking on water in rain as they serpentine by around black rocks
And other fears that gather up about their banks
One silver moving wall of water is shallow in its depths
Remains nameless all the same, once again, then evaporates
Hides, mourning on the shore and then it is no more
The other moving liquid body flows by, goes by Serious
It turns in pain, winds around the landscape meanderings
Serpentines, absorbing rain and young children to its depths
No one knows why the river runs so long so deep
But there are tears in it originating from old faces
Forming on old mountains as they trickle down, cascading
Tears of Serious are created from many deaths
Now in her depths

A stone's cast ----

but what great arm has set about the motion?

was not the first mother reared? ----

her children on the smiles of angels?

   her womb filled with devotional design;

to flourish to some end with hope in God's motivation?

..... back to the (garden), with this posy and its ink near end,

   and its quill dipped still in mystique;

yet I did not come (here) by chance,

nor was my mother born from some heathen improbability,

   there can come no answers in doubt;

for fear of the wolves the woods are too shadowed

   and loiter most grimly,

   always death on the wind....

I shall not doubt the design in the weave the Great Artist

   hath woven, and what magic touch with the world's eye in mind;

only the dullard doubts the infinite graces in the reflecting pool,

and the skeptic accursed without revelation -----

his own child but water, flesh and bone

and the cold earth but waits for him,

   in the bellies of fattened worms;

when death's breath whispers and curls and furls

as serpent wisp-mists, coiling to mortal truth ----

he shall cling to God and eternity!

Have I died a thousand deaths?

walked the cool of earth ere?

tasted of the sweet nectar of love,

   and the bounties beyond death?

That we will to live, and climb to some end,

the jagged-precipice, and toil to experience

and seek the Final Mighty Mount ----

   is our great testimony to eternity;

To leave our fingerprint upon the world,

and slip into paradise as a welcomed wind 'neath its door.....

We have heard it said before
That the soul beats on
Long after the heart has tired in its mortal labor

Where will our songs go
After the grave has subdued its cries?

Angered, silent ghosts will drop a glass
And never hear it's shatter...
How much more to them than broken glass,
Will you matter?

Remember this before your first exit:

There will always be those that will hear the music,
Beyond your days of breath
Only special ears in tuned with the earth,
And its universe he and she will see in all its shamelessness

Sing on!
Sing on to those you know will hear
Let never your soul be mute
Long after those special ears, tongue, flesh, and eyes
Close to rot

There is a place you can go that is full of only love and Warmth .
you will be surrounded by a light that shines from the Heavens ,
Sprinkles of Silver and Gold.

This place is filled with brilliant colors of Purple , vibrant Gold, all colors.
not one Color is less significant then another ,
for every color is equal here .

This place is surrounded by the beauty of different Flowers.
All flowers have significance here . No one Flower is better then another .
All Flowers are equal here .

It is important you know , you can cry here , and should cry as often as needed .
For the tears will cleanse your Soul and give the Flowers water to grow.
No one Tear is insignificant here , every tear has value and not one is better then another .

money holds no value , Where you live , what you own, has no significance here .

You will be surrounded by a beautiful light that shines from the Heavens .
A shining warm light will encircle you and allow nothing to hurt you .
Hate will be shed at the door like an old jacket of no use.

There is a place of beauty and Worth.
This place will not be found on Earth .
It is a place where no one person is better then another .

Reality is lost and I fear…
That someday, somewhere so near…
I will fall amongst the people so dear…
I fear…that I’ll just be another one…
Another one lost…

I wonder what the cost of my life is
not to get political…
But I want to know what the cost of my life is
Is it money, is it land?
I do not own any of them, I’m just a simple man

I remember, when I ran across your land…
I remember when I kissed my grandmothers hands…
You ripped me away from her, from my home
You took me away from my heart, you took me away from my soul

I feel helpless, I feel low
It’s hard to play along when I know, I have no role
I have become a slave.
After all the love I gave.

When I look at my country, people I want to save
When I look around me, people I wish to change
It seems like a hard thing to do…
When the world around is bigger than you

To the fools who dare murder in his name
When God gave us life…
He warned us, only he can take our lives…

Oh Syria, my home
Oh Syria, my all
Oh Syria, what did they hurt you for?
I am Proud to be your son…

You were never seen by us, that privilege sadly was not for us an extravagance we were overwhelmed by, the thought of your embrace The entire twelve weeks you were a joy to have known, even 'without' being seen hearing about you're arrival, was a blessing at the time you were conceived For life hadn't been easy and we had all asked God, we even plea'd We wait upon the day, you will finally meet us having the honour to love and learn with you, saddly not for us It brakes my heart as you part, you had already embeded love into my heart Just knowing we will now...forever be kept apart God has other plans for your love that's so strong, blessing us from the start we continually pray, maybe he'll deside to let you stay around But the intense pain of tears and loss, are constantly falling all around just let it be known, we all desperately wanted you to become part of us We all will love you for eternity, you are now forever one of us, although it was only for a very slight second, it was better than never You are from this day on, embedded into our hearts forever... the impact you have left 'unborn young one'' my beloved grandchild.... The Santa Ana's are here, and the moon is clear.
There is a mystic in the air that whispers in my ear.
Is this a peaceful feeling or does it carry fear ?

What is the passion and hot fragrence of orange blossom that is pulling me a different way , as if this power has been sent only by a Witch of the finest of White Magic, only to calm the Blue Soul I have known my whole life.

I feel a passion that is running through my Veins like the power of water itself .

As if the Moon itself were instructed to warm the air that is blowing . It is not a new moon , it is not a old moon , it is a moon that appears only in ones lifetime to gaze at .

By seeing and feeling the very power of this Moon you will dance your way to Heaven with happiness of what is yet to come.

The Stars around this Moon are unique as if they take the presence of every loved one you and I have lost .

The Witches winds with the warm glowing of the moon, as if I had never met you before , are blowing with the frangerence of Orange Blossom or Magnolia , from a distant past of The South.

As if I know we have been together once before , a Moon such as this . In a peaceful , lustful state of Bliss.

There is something coming .. is it something I have always known or wanted ?

What is yet to be known is as intoxicating as the Santa anas that are running through my body.
As if i have been struck by the power of light , as the powerful moon I gaze at in the Night.
It is piercing my soul with it's only Truth,

The"tail" I have to tell, starts off really sad.
My sweet doggie Murphy died and my heart, it hurt so bad.
Until one day in early spring, I got a call that made my heart sing!
There were some puppies born in Waco, the daddy -Jasper, and mommy- Juneau.
Four little boys, three little girls. But the picture of one boy, made my heart twirl!
So I waited for a week or two, to meet my little puppy-oh so new!
I named him Humphrey, such a handsome boy! He has brought laughter back and oh what a joy! He's super cute, and very smart. Many would say, he's a work of art!
He's learning new tricks, and how to potty outside. So many rules to learn and abide!
Humphrey is growing so quickly, the puppy breath will soon disappear. He will be an adult in less than a year! Every stage of his life is a blessing from above. I guess that's the true meaning of what we call "puppy love".

I'm not the greatest of all-times, but when I'm done, I'll be an all time great in this lifetime of mine Like the late great who came before my time I will breed a new lifeline, that will breathe life like march of dimes My story lines, will bring truth life; like troops who fight Overseas, for rights of those who believe that death is life Now that ain't right! As the rich is getting richer, eating fillet me-non, while we barely feeding our appetite Night after night Survival has waged a war that gave us no choice but to battle and fight Although, we'll be all right They say we a dying breed, but that ain't right Instead we're the light to a lying greed That will enlighten life to a brand new seed A man of God indeed Freed from the Son that bleeds Like the summer breeze He's the sum that equals the amount of air I breathe The air that please A satisfaction like the birds and the bees My word's words are the keys That will fornicate with the mind and give birth to a seed A seed of social change, that'll change our social economy So shall our comradery That will bring comfort to a struggling society A synonym...similar to a civilization seeking for unity Unifying the physics of theory That seeks to explain the synopsis of a dying philosophy Similar to the Cosby X-cept my scrip-tic will speak more about our reality Like life's calamity And everything else in life that's destroying us systematically However, I've discovered a system That can mathematically destroy ignorancy And turn our state of mind intellectually I elect that He (God) selects me to be And be that man who may lead this community So that they (My Peoples) may commute with me En-route to a destination, destine towards our destiny Like we were destine to be We were meant to be "Great" like the late great that came before we. Because we are... The reflection where perfection gave birth to the definition of greatness Where great means Competent, Skilled, Well Informed, and Tremendous Our potentials are endless And only we not even the enemy can put an end to this So it's time we put a stop to this The biggest enemy of self And that's envy and jelousness Cause after this is Heaven or Hell and that's all there is A promised made sealed with a kiss Knowing this Is the next best thing since "In the beginning" In the first chapter of the first verse in Genesis!

When you look at the hills faraway at sunset, think of me:
I am the black flock of birds that disappears into the horizon;
 I am the beautful golden sunset that touches your heart;
I am the wind that blows towards the hills;
And I am the dark house upon the dark hills;
I am the old grave that lie silently in the dark moist forest,
FORGOTEN FOREVER

When meanings have been broken,
When your cross has been uncrossed,
When the reasons that you gave me,
In the labyrinth have been lost.
When your house has been emptied,
When your bedroom is swept clean,
I will come and wake you,
From your long and endless dream.

There are places out in space
that beg the question of why,
abiding where dreams embrace
our infinite inner sky.

Stargazers pay attention
to sidereal pathways,
tracing every dimension,
some using astral math ways.

Scientists study each fact
and what their instruments find
of astronomic impact
in terms of matter and mind.

The poets wordily lithe
of celestial wonders sing
with lofty spirits and blithe
as upward their fancies wing.

Throughout human death and birth
we’ve gazed at the heavens awed
while creating hell on earth
through cause and effect that’s flawed.

We see not with precision
through mortal perceptions, but
with illusory vision
pretentiously say what’s what.

And yet, if the truth be told,
in our braggadocio
of verities we behold,
how little we truly know!

There are dreams beyond our dreams
that fly in the face of fear,
where all is more than it seems
to casual eye and ear.

In evolution stellar
a flash was observed in view
from dying cosmic dweller
that brought it to life anew…

If stars come back from the dead
reborn in a blaze of light,
who knows what might lie ahead
beyond our limited sight?

There is beauty in the night,
In it darkness overcomes light.

There is something in the waves rising,
Then resigning to gently falling.

There is joy in a candle burning bright,
The finality in the way it sputters and dims-
Disappearing from sight.

Let us celebrate life in the making,
But remember a toast to death-
Because one day,
The grim reaper towers before a dying spirit,
Our souls for his taking.

Although there might be tears,
Let us not forget how mourning bells echo through centuries,
Though we remember with clarity, much is lost to time.
And the Earth never stops spinning round and round.

Our Father, death,
He never forgets.
He takes what is his,
He is the king to our subjects,
A monarch with no need for a crown.
Whether you are a naked child on the plains of Africa,
A lonely astronaut carving his name on Mars,
Or a middle aged man yearning for something more in life.

The king unites humanity in strength,
Before life and faith takes us apart.

This large dark creature fluffs its wings at me, causing fear and shame. However, I have done nothing wrong to it. Yet, it snares at me in pain. I am afraid, but I call to it and it comes close, but not near for fear. Why is this creature afraid, or is it just the Human trade. I call, it comes, I show by my outstretched hands, then gently touches my hands and pecks. Then, flies away a greeting we have made known, no more to be afraid. The Raven twice removed to come back another day.

Alas there is no more confusion,
finally found my last conclusion.
Expect me as if Jesus will return,
from a ghost to a realm of concern.

Your dreams are portals like doors,
welcoming spirits into hasten wars.
Leaving the thoughts without trust,
keeping your fears in much disgust.

And though you sought no consequence,
deeds that confirm a wicked malevolence.
Awaiting in your nightmare of screams,
enjoy what is left amongst your dreams.

I am alone on the island of death
Around the bodies of hundreds
Natural disasters happened a little earlier
All dead
My enemies, allies, relatives
Some of the most intimate

I am on mass of ruins
Loud noise...Moaning...Unbroken silent in a trice
I am just at the end
There are no tears in my eyes, no fear in chest
I am speechless

I am in the midst of so much death, destruction
Creation is alive
It's my responsibility to rotate the wheel again
Just me.

As a stormy cloudy day, my heart filled with a dark gloomy, foggy haze.
Breathless and no longer living my flesh was deaf and disintegrating fast.
Lifeless, and buried deeply sunken; upon my grave.
My spirits formed as dying weeds, uprooted planted seeds.
Brittle and fragile as a crisp rose petal.
Dehydrate raindrops that have fallen from my tear ducts.
My soul was as dark as the dirt that lay on my grave.
I lay in darkness with no movement.
Then the earth shifted.
As he gently brushed off my layers of crust, small thin layers of trust.
Lifted me from my darkness dust, my sunshine has come.
In a form of a man, skin golden as sand.
He takes my hand as I carried off to dry land.
As his sunrays beam down upon me, I am profoundly happy.
Liberation of sunlight, deliverance of brightness, I am out the darkness.
Reincarnation I am rebirth a new person.
My sunshine has come there is no more rain in my heart.
All cried out lifted by his sunlight.
I have life born again as his wife.

Autumn Colors (Death So Bold)

Resting upon cold , hard ground
leaves depleted Autumn's gold
Solid vapors soon are found
in rested spirits of old
colors so bright, death so bold
