Words tremble
Crisp winds bear burdens
Summer promised, as daylight drifts away
Your heart.... singing in choirs of fading bloom
Hears not

 Can you
 feel it? The crunch
 beneath our feet as we
stroll along this path leading home!
 Hear it?

 'Tis the
 leaves from the trees
 all dried and withered, tired
 just hanging around, fallen down!
 See them?

 Oh my!
 Do you smell it?
 C'mon, we're almost there!
 Cherrywood burning, cinnamon!
 Run, run!

 Give me a hug!
Oh God, that feels so good!
This is what I have been missing!

WALKING THE AUTUMN PATH Cracklings under my feet breathing fragrant leafage of reds and golds, brown twigs of trees- fallen. Juicy succulent pears, big-bright orange pumpkins fill crates in the grocery store- displayed. Fresh-baked breads, apple pies flirting sweet to my nose, I hastily run: tasting all, I burp! Cool, crisp air kissed our cheeks as we sit close outside steady gazing the evening sky: moon, stars... _______________________________________________________ CONTEST NAME: AUTUMN STROLL CINQUAIN FORM Contest Sponsor: Eve Roper ~~2nd place~~ Olive Eloisa Guillermo 5:24 pm, October 22, 2015

Autumn, quixotic dreams, broken summer, fallen, dramatic colors are screaming, softly.
Walking over snapping twigs, echoed melodies. Metallic tasting cooling breeze, whispers.
Gentle, fluttering leaves tickle aspirant skin, falling caressingly from trees, teasing.
Serene setting calling, lazy fragrant autumn flowers echo stained foliage, beauty. 10/23/15

                         old cracked sidewalks
                             brownstone, pumpkin lined streets
                      wood burning smoke rises over
                  fall skies

So cold
The kiss of death
That downs the autumn leaves
To burn in crimson flames beneath
Her ice

Strolling, We encounter Fragrant dappled apples, Low-hanging and creating an Archway Passing Underneath trees, Inhaling fruits’ sweetness, Impetuously you give me Kisses Holding One another In afternoon’s sunlight, Blissfully by murmuring wind Caressed Sparrows Serenade us Until finally we Are enveloped by autumnal Twilight Written 10/23/2015 for the Autumn Stroll Cinquain Form Contest of Eve Roper

Dead Fall
Sad time to stroll
On my head i behold
The last days of fragility
That fall

Red hues
Bare silent views
Watching my red times death
In my ultimate Autumn stroll
They fall

i feel
cold days and chill
will soon ignite my quill
to paint a landscape dumb and still
i will !

Crisp crunch
Musical feet
Wind whistles, musty beat
Swirling and rustling of the leaves

Falling to ground
More notes to make the sound
Feet sample tunes as we stroll
Trees mime

                 Sun rays through the
              Yellow and orange leaves
               Decorating and falling as

                    Echoes and sound
                Of singing birds in the
       Timeworn and ancient tree branches

                        Wood scent
                         Acrid odor
                 Perceived across the air
               Saturating the atmosphere

                   Comforts the soul
              With a serene peace felt
           Across the humid deep forest
