The Light Shall Overcome The Night

When you find yourself alone in the shadows
Void of peace and tricked by deceit,
Know that light flushes out the dark
And there's a light deep within your heart

If you find yourself in a crowd blind of clear sights,
Remove yourself from their company, and find some light

It will always be darkest before dawn
So prepare yourself a light
Because darkness will surely come

For shadow shrouds over everyone and everything,
Never are you alone when the night comes to cling

We all share the same sun and the same moon
But with life comes fire, let us use it to banish the present gloom

Together, when we all contribute to the fire
We can create warmth and huddle around the campfire
Until this present darkness expires

Some may be lost within the pitch black, and absent day
Some may even run wild in search of prey

But know this..
Within your heart can start a spark,
The smallest fire can give birth to soaring flames
So bright you might even forget the darkness even came

The light shall overcome the night, breaching through the skies
So hold fast to your light, whatever it may be
A candle, a torch, a lantern, or even the full moon shining across the seas and stars

GOD never gives us more than we can handle
So hold strong to your BLAZING candles

The tigress' mark

She prowls the night
with clenched jaw and pride,
nothing able to smite
her remorseless stride.

The ominous reflection of moon
shines forth from devouring eyes
of a nocturnal beauty spun on the loom
of the Creator's bid and sighs.

Grace moves her every limb
and she precedes an enraged scream
caused by ruins of a forest now grim
and held alive by all but one stream.

Her claws prophesy of vengeance
though her heart yearns for reconciliation.
Yet now there would be no leniency
for a soul's annihilation.

Now on journeys through lush valleys and ashes
she will embark
until all that remains after furious thrashes
will be the tigress' mark.

Lord, I've Been Hurting

Lord., I've Been Hurting!

This one thing I am
 most certain…
Lately I’ve been really hurtin’.

I trying to do right, but it
turns out “wrong.”
Where, in life,
do I really belong?

So many people
 pass me by.
Sometimes, someone
may say; “hi!”

I don’t know if this message is
 getting across?
I feel so confused and
completely lost.

A message of “help” has my
 prayer and plea…
For God to reach out to me!

He reached down and
made me whole!
HIS love and compassion
 filled my soul!

Spending time with Jesus
 is time well spent!
It was for you and me that
Jesus was sent!

When the Beginning Is the End

I wish...
...our community treasured life;
I wish...
...she wasn't a deer caught in a headlight;
I wish...
...the law protected you;
I wish...
...my words had gotten through;
Then...
...maybe you would have been born;
Then...
...you would be a cause to rejoice instead of to mourn.

"Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord."--Psalm 127:3

There is a place

There is a place you can go that is full of only love and Warmth .
you will be surrounded by a light that shines from the Heavens ,
Sprinkles of Silver and Gold.

This place is filled with brilliant colors of Purple , vibrant Gold, all colors.
not one Color is less significant then another ,
for every color is equal here .

This place is surrounded by the beauty of different Flowers.
All flowers have significance here . No one Flower is better then another .
All Flowers are equal here .

It is important you know , you can cry here , and should cry as often as needed .
For the tears will cleanse your Soul and give the Flowers water to grow.
No one Tear is insignificant here , every tear has value and not one is better then another .

money holds no value , Where you live , what you own, has no significance here .

You will be surrounded by a beautiful light that shines from the Heavens .
A shining warm light will encircle you and allow nothing to hurt you .
Hate will be shed at the door like an old jacket of no use.

There is a place of beauty and Worth.
This place will not be found on Earth .
It is a place where no one person is better then another .

Time passed another gift to see
we are " Mickes" and Loved
Our Dad held the title in Baseball

           those children are Grandmas hero's

The Irish they love big and Family is everything
The brothers will protect the beautiful sister
~ as many lads will be calling ~

Every time my Grandson hits a home run
There will be a Angel watching proudly in the stand

It will be as if the Angel lifted him when he runs
~no one runs faster then my Grandson~
either baseball or Art ~ you shall find your gift given

                These children have been blessed~

Man's Corruption God's Redemption

Man's Corruption... God's Redemption!

The Bible speaks of man's sin and corruption.
That's why God has offered us, his redemption!

The heart is desperately wicked above all things.
There's an evil corruption that sin brings!

The Lord searches our heart and tests our ways.
He watches our lives, all of our days!

There's nothing good in ourselves.
Not now, or ever!
Without God's mercy...
We're doomed forever!

But, through Christ, there's a way and a plan!
He made this available to every woman and man!

His gift of salvation is a message of love, made clear!
The coming of Jesus Christ,
 draws ever so near!

We can trade our sinful corruption,
for a new way of living!
Won't you come before the Lord,
with a heart of giving?

Giving our life to Jesus,
is the best thing to do!
By his power and grace, you can be
made BRAND NEW!

I'm thankful for his salvation!
 Mercy has been applied!
Because of Christ' death on the cross…
I'm now sanctified!

What Is This Church All About

What Is This Church All About?

Is this church meant for people like me?
Is this where God really wants me to be?

They claim to be filled with God’s spirit.
When it comes to HIS truth... Can they give it?

I’m sure there’s many who come and attend
It’s more than “church on Sunday,” that we must spend!

We must reach out to the lost and the oppressed!
After all, Christ gave us his very best!

May we all preach the gospel and God’s holiness!
And strive to seek his awesome righteousness!

Living for Jesus must be a daily walk and experience!
Not simply based on our “ambitious self appearance.”

God isn’t interested in a denomination or a title…
He wants to know… Do we really believe the Bible?

He’s not interested in the money put in the offering plate.
He wants to know; “Are you ready
 to enter heaven’s gate?”

May we strive to serve Jesus with a zeal and passion!
And be filled with his holiness and compassion!

May we serve Jesus from a heart of humbled confession!
And making our commitment to him,
 our #1 possession!

“Unless the Lord builds the house.”
They labor in vain that build it!
Let’s seek the power of God!
May his presence completely fill it!!

Tender of Roses

Beloved, lovely roses: gift of God and lover’s flower,
Spread your colored petals and cradle tender showers.
While admiring the blossoms with their beauty to behold,
Ought we not to know the Tender of such lovely garden groves?

For He lovingly and thoughtfully wields His pruning shears
To cut away the stems of old for fuller future years.
He cultivates and feeds them. He attends them as a Father
Looking daily to their needs; so faithfully He waters.

From the dawn of morning dew until the setting sun arrays
Caring always for His own until that great appointed day…
When the Gardener comes to claim each one the earth held as its own.
He gently picks it at its peak and for His pleasure takes it home.

As God did one glorious morning, when the Perfect Rose had bloomed.
He rolled away the stone and met with Mary at the tomb.
There the sweetest Rose of Sharon rose that we die not alone.
But be gathered for a garden grove, surrounding heavens throne.

The Light

They praise me like a saint,
But I am a sinner;
They don't know the man they see.
I am an addict.
Broken eyes to pornography,
Only Jesus can set me free.
Only by His death on the cross
And the grace of His Father's love
Am I able to be set free.
With God as The Light,
The One and Only Light,
The Only Hope in sight,
Will I be set free.
I am free.

Core Belief

I had no Mentor when I formulated
                   My Core Belief **
Read the Bible, (words of My God), in my youth
                   In my own grief **
Through HIS Word, I learnt the meaning of LOVE
              His Resurrected Truth **
Constantly Praying, I would walk thru the mist :
                   I had created **
As a tear, crawling down the weathered contours
                   Upon my face **
Lasting for the Eons of FOREVER; My Faith endures
                   LOVE Embraided **
My human Heart, casting shadows of my Soul
                   With HIS Holy Grace **

Author's Note : Please read the starred lines as the last verse:
My Core Belief
 In my own grief etc.

Falklands

An Island
Of beauty and intrinsic history
Penguins and rustic sheep
A war by evil dictator that made us weep

The British defended the locals with flair
A war with the criminals, no shoes in despair
Democracy won and Argentina to its knees
They have learned is not wise to do as you please

Many know not the history of Kings
This land was to be Canada
If not for French gifts that did bring
With treachery they were tricked into Spanish rings

Louis-Antoine de Bougainville
Was first at Port St Louis
The British were second two years to the day
The Spanish claims left to the clowns in dismay

Sadly Argentina with insanity did commit
War crimes that killed innocent young brits
Their leaders and poets in deceptions agreed
They both cared less for humanity and more for their greed

Am I Still Forgiven

I did it again; I need forgiven.
Will He still forgive me even though I've fallen before?
I've fallen into these same sins countless times before;
I still haven't learned my lesson.
I am an ignorant hypocrite.
Am I still forgiven?

Dialogue of Souls

Best of friends, for countless years,
we had the best of times.
Now as my eyes are filled with tears,
your soul to Heaven climbs.
The path we take, not always clear,
I feel so lost without you here.
Your last words, prophetic now,
“I’ll be home soon”- you knew somehow.
You left me here, I’m so alone,
but I dreamed Heaven had a phone.
We talked all night, you fell asleep,
I held the line to hear you breathe…

America Is Being DESTROYED From Within

As sin and perversion often become integrated… So many lives and families are being “disintegrated.” Many are being driven by sin’s temptation force… It’s no wonder much of this country is way “off course.” The morality and values that once made a great nation. Are evaporating…. Leading to a “spiritual separation.” Love, honor, and respect of God… Is often a “thing of the past.” Anything of God seems to be disappearing FAST! God is our only hope! And him alone! Only he can bring healing to our broken homes! He’s the answer to this wounded nation, that bleeds! It’s only God that can meet all of our needs! He’s our provider… The great: “I am!” Won’t you reach out to him? And give him your hand? Why not give him a chance? And allow him in? A brand new life for you… Is waiting to begin! May we allow God’s holiness and love to reach down into our hearts… Asking; “Lord please forgive our sins!” Is a good place to start! By Jim Pemberton

No More Broken Heart

Why are they tip toeing around this room
I wonder who they are and what they want
Sometimes they scare me with the needles
I like that kind man that comes in and smiles

I see something in his eyes that appear sad
After a while, I let him hold my hand and sit
He talks of people, telling me all about them
Sometimes, I feel a stir in my mind about them

Just a rose will do, I tell this man who came in
I always love roses, but not sure how I know
He doesn't seem to understand me; it's a rose
Anyone knows what a rose is, it's that red thing

He tried to kiss me but I turn my head everytime
I don't know him enough for that lip stuff he wants
A tear in his eyes like I always see as he leaves
Something inside me breaks but not sure what

All I want to do is call that man back to hold me
I don't remember his name right now; I'm so tired
I close my eyes and everything turns cloudy white
Next person I see is Jesus welcoming me home

I remember it all now, goodbye precious husband

Hostile Times II

Hostile Times II
By Nate Spears

Busted love is my Crystal Ball's fortune
My heart hurts in a torturing way
Nothing ever works in my favor
Standing still
I lower my head and pray
Confessing to God
All I have to give

A 16 year old rebellious daughter
A 13 year old son that’s dead
My father is in prison; so is the one of my two kids
Is this really a way of living?
I didn’t have a choice from the days beginning
Anything different
Would have a given me a chance
at living

Walls of barriers bearing on us
On this earth we stand
Refusing to let go of this curse
If no bill is signed by Congress
My unemployment runs out next Thursday
Now I contemplate what’s next?
Sex dollars or Creflo's Dollars?
Be an honest woman; or
Be a fool that’s starving?
When pushed to the limit
All governors are discarded.

Hostile Times rains upon us
Other nations joins the honors
The Elite makes me vomit
There’s plenty of resources among us
God have mercy and let it trickle down on us
Rather than become degrading
In this pew
I choose prayer
Becoming Sunday Mornings best
Washing away my pains that become abreast; with my chest
Bringing in a new day,
A today,
For a better way
In these hostile times we live in.

Face Of Night

When night face appears:

  Hades erupts with the
hammer of death,stiring
the waters.
Lemures dashing forth
and back preying on
wandering souls-tell-tale
odor pervading the
atmosphere.
Resistance is like chasing
shadows.
Shackles of bondage
looming,even the blue-
blooded under chains
and fetters.
   Howling winds
harmonize with howls of
night marmosets-
creatures of doom.
Splattered blood spread
like cancer: a norm of the
day.
Mountains of carcasses
caressing the sky.
  The world becomes
scene of blood bath,
carnages mounting,
screams perforating the
atmosphere.
   Long ago,a human
phoenix lived and died-lo
he lives!
(Carpe diem)! He offers
hands of goodwill with
beaming smiles.

Never Alone

NEVER ALONE
By Derrick Smith

Do not shed your tears for me
Because God has called me home
But keep in mind the memories
And the fact you’re not alone
Keep your tears for joyful things
The thought of all that we have done
And know that I no longer suffer
That I am with the one
The one who keeps you thru the day
And watches over you thru the night
The one who helped me make it through
And fought my biggest fight
My spirit lives within all of you
That God saw fit to call me home
I’ve done all that I could do
Know that although I am gone
But do not shed your tears for me
Because with God I am now home
But keep in mind all the memories
And you will never be alone.
         I Am With God Now.

There's A Web of Temptation And Sin

There’s a Web of Temptation and Sin!

There’s a web of temptation and a lot of sin…
That brings slavery and a strong bondage within!

Throughout this land, there’s an evil surge!
While many lives, seem to be getting “submerged!”

Being submerged, into a life, that many believe in.
They become perverted, but want all to receive them!

The “love and acceptance,”
 that many desire.
Puts them on a tightrope! A very thin wire!

As the web of temptation and sin begin to grow.
It brings a bondage that damages the soul!

They may want to have “love and acceptance.”
But in their hearts, needs to be a godly repentance!

May the holiness of a righteous God be stirred!
That all will come back, to the truth of his word!

His son Jesus, came to the cross! He bled and died!
That through him, our lives can be totally sanctified!

Only the power of God, can bring a needed restoration!
He gives to one and all…
 A heavenly invitation!

Whosoever will… Come now! And accept him!
Won’t you take the time, to really know him?

Don’t allow the web of life to destroy
and overcome you!
Come to Jesus now! He really does
 LOVE YOU!

I Lost Everything But Found Jesus

I Lost Everything... But Found Jesus!

I didn't know how good I had it,
until I lost all that I owned.
I lost my family, my cars
and even my home.

I tried to live a life according
 to a "good principle."
I let pride get in the way and
 felt "invincible."

I once had money, wealth and fame.
It seemed like everyone around
 me all knew my name.

I feel empty, afraid
and "at my wit's end."
Everyone has left me.
 Even my close “friends.”

Jesus... You're the one I know
that I can call upon.
You make things "right"
when all seems "wrong."

Only you can give,
what money can never buy.
I humbly kneel before you Lord,
with a desperate cry.

Please help me dear Jesus!
 I know that you can.
I read in your word that you are;
"I AM that I AM!"

In YOU... Jesus... I’ve
 found life's meaning.
Your life for mine,
 is what I'm receiving!

You're my best friend whom
I love so much.
I long for your mercy and peace...
your "special touch."

You alone brought a joy that a
fortune could never give...
You brought me hope, peace
 and a reason to live!

The Umbrella Man

			i.

The day he lost her to a fallen world
He promised to be satisfied with life
His love came from above abundantly
Commissioned to give back put others first

One day the Sturm und Drang hit city streets
He viewed upon his high apartment floor
Then after business hours his neighbors parked
He witnessed many soaked from pouring rain

Instinctively he grabbed umbrella case
He pulled it from the scabbard to withdraw
His saber in right hand, ran down the stairs
Now opened sheltered fabric for the folks

The people parked now waited one by one
Because the gent had hurried them inside
He got the last one in so safe and dry
The people clapped, bade “thanks, umbrella man”

			ii

Weeks later:

He heard the honking horn across the street
A straggler struggles out of vehicle
Looks like a neighbor, hadn't seen before
He gets her out of pouring rain, she smiles

This man who was as masculine as can be
Had felt his legs go weak; her pretty face
She saw his handsome face, aglow; proclaimed -
“Am pleased to meet our famed Umbrella Man”

Divorce Isn't Always the Best Choice

Divorce Isn’t Always A Good Choice! I met a person who’s been married for many years. When he talked to me, he was in tears! He was faced with the option of divorce! And now, he feels his life is driven “off course.” His wife said she’s through. She’s “all done.” And doing things which seemed “fun.” Beyond each day and the circumstance… Does this marriage even “have a chance?” Why do people seem happier when they’re apart? Far too often, this ends up in a broken heart! Too often, people “give up” on what they believe! But it’s so many lies, is what they receive! I spoke to this person, of God’s purpose and meaning! Into God’s loving arms, is where he needs to be leaning! When life changes, and marriage seems to have failed you… Jesus is here! And wants to put his arms around you! There’s hope and answers to all of your problems! You’ll find the answer in God’s word! HE can solve them! The best choice for you is to come and trust HIM! Give Jesus your life! Come now and love HIM! All he needs is for you to give him an invitation! He’ll change you! And make you a new creation! His love can do what no other power can ever do! He’ll bring new meaning in the words; “I LOVE YOU!” By Jim Pemberton

Beads of Blood

In The Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus fell to His knees
As He cried to His Father, let this cup pass from me
His anguish and pain I could never imagine
Sweat turning to blood, as He begged for compassion

In the midst of the garden, on the ground, as he knelt
Surrounded by darkness, how alone he must have felt
His disciples nearby, they had fallen asleep
A promise to watch, they had failed to keep

Not for an hour could they watch as Jesus prayed
As the fog covered the garden in a hazy gray
With swollen eyes from where Jesus had wept
He silently stood before them as they slept

The paths He must have worn from constant pace
The urgency He held in seeking God's face
How His tears must have fallen and soaked the ground
Listening for the voice of His Father in every sound

As the years of His life flashed before His eyes
Wanting so much to live and so afraid to die
Yes, He was God but He was just as much man
He grieved in the thought of carrying out God's plan

His love, much greater than the pain
A sacrificial man to be beaten and slain
Could He feel the pain with each strike of the whip
Hanging from His body, His flesh torn and ripped

Could He hear the mob, question Pilate's decision
To put this man to death, I have no reason
I wash my hands of His blood, did He hear Pilate's words
As the mob cries crucify Him, my Savior and Lord

As He prayed could He feel the weight of the old rugged cross
Could He feel the betrayal and rejection from a world so lost
Could He hear the mockery, the laughter, the taunting and scorn
On His head could He feel the piercing from a crown of thorns

Could He feel the nails to be driven into His hands
The piercing of His feet, the thought could He stand
Could He hear the soldiers as they gambled for His robe
Could He see His naked body displayed, His dignity they stole

Could He imagine His body, marred beyond recognition
Beaten and bruised from a mad world's decision
Could He feel His bones being crushed from within
His organs exposed from the tearing of His skin

Could He feel the roof of his mouth, the cling of His tongue
With each breath grasped, air was blocked from His lungs
Could He hear His own voice, as He begged for one sip
Did He taste the bitterness of vinegar as it touched his lips

Did He foresee the moment of His last breath
Could He feel His body pass from life unto death
Could He feel the spear that pierced His side
Could He see His father turn His back and hide

Did His mind race from one thing to another
Did He experience the terror over and over
Did He vomit in anguish of ever vision He saw
The suffering He would endure under secular law

Was His body drenched from sweat, triggered by fear
Could He hear the steps of His destiny drawing near
Did He clinch His fist until His nails were worn
Grieved and sickened from within, did His soul mourn

As I close my eyes, I can see His face
From tan to pale His color replaced
I can hear His voice full of grief and much sorrow
As I know He must have begged for another tomorrow

His body shook of convulsions as terror filled His soul
From shock His body turning clammy and cold
I can hear devastation, as He kneels to pray
Such a precious gift to man, for our debt He must pay

If ever I should be blessed to visit Israel's great land
In the Garden of Gethsemane is where I want to stand
I want to seek out the very place where Jesus fell to His knees
Where the beads of blood fell on behalf of you and me

How I wish I could travel to that very night
To kneel by my Savior and hold Him tight
To wipe His blood, sweat and tears away
To seek God on His behalf and diligently pray

The Garden of Gethsemane, a story forever to hold
The pleading of a Savior, the depth of suffering untold
Holding the cries of Jesus, as for His life He pled
As captivity enslaved Him, to His death He was led

I

If its money I got its money ill keep. If its money I have its money ill weep. If its love that I give its love ill receive. For I am but no one who just see's beneath. Some say your only as strong as you feel, but how could we change..in a place that's so unreal. People are hearing but..not really hearing. Why is the world so blind. I keep on screaming and screaming and screaming for things to be revolutionized. I am just a small song in a world full of cries, laughter, tears and french-fries.

God Knows Best

There was a man named Job,
He wore an expensive robe,
For he was very wealthy,
And he was also quite healthy.

Then one day Satan came along,
And ripped his life in two,
Killed his sons and daughters,
And all his animals too.

He loved God before,
Satan took his joy away,
He loved God after,
No curses he would say.

He had two friends,
Who were of little use,
No soothing words of comfort,
Did their mouths produce.

God appeared on the scene,
And took him aside,
To ask him many a thing,
Like where does the night hide,
Who fathers the dew,
Who made the wild donkey free,
And how the eagle flew.

On his words Job did stumble,
For God had made him very humble,
He had to confess,
In everything God knows best.

A Dead Girl's Final Wish

Music is my home,
Written when I am alone.
Nobody is hear to save me as I slash
my wrists and they turn scarlet.
My mother and father walks through the door,
 my mother screams and ,
my father seems dazed,
The doctor say if it was not for the fact,
That my heart was not strong i would have survived,
The boy and girl who pushed me to commit sucide,
spits and dance on my grave,
they defile it and call me names,
even though i am dead i will still hear them,
talk and say mean things,
to my mother and father,
They spread rumors that are untrue,
A voice calls out and asks me what
I want to do?
I cry out let me live give me a second chance,
I'll grant you this calls the voice,
The next thing I know I am in a hospital in the intensive care unit,
I try to speak my mother puts her finger to my lips she is crying,
i Had been on the way to the morgue when my eyes open and i started to breathe,
The same bestfriend who i have known all my life has finally shown her jealous side
and called me a witch, and a zombie, or even a creature from hell.
They Took her to the other side of the hospital and put her in the physchartric unit,
The boy went to jail for attempted murder and i knew i had a plan lined all out for me
