'Baby, you taste like chocolate,
You and me we'd make a great rhyming couplet.
A.K.A a grinding couplet.'
'You can get on top of me like enjambment.'
'I can show you some wild imagery,
Me on you, you on me.'
'Metaphor stands for meet-at-four,
We'll get it on till the break of dawn.'
'Damn, could you BE anymore sexual?' -an example of a rhetorical question you could include...
'S-s-s-s-s-SEX!'- an example of sibilance you could use (and probably will).
'Annotate me honey, and together we can achieve a deeper meaning.'

I love the fish that comes straight from the tree.
Do you have this fish?
I also love the fish that comes directly from the market.
So do you have this fish?
I love the fish that comes from the sea.
Do you have this fish that comes from the bay?
I need this fish today.
Do you have this fish?
I think that fish is Danggit.
And Lapu-Lapu that comes from Cebu!
I love you fish.

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

Nature's Magnificent Beauty

When you need serenity gaze longingly at a mountain peak.
It can make you stronger - even your minds not weak.
See the many trees - how tall that they have grown.
It's majesty in every leaf is truly, lovingly shown!

The gentle breezes dance around you - making you feel really calm.
On your entire system - applying a healing balm!
Raising your spirit - into the sky so blue.
Granting you the happiness - that you've been over due!

Walking along a beach - watching the rivers tide.
Pushing everything else in your world totally aside!
The gentle waves relax you down to your very core.
Suppressing all negativity - like it never has before!

You can experience nature - in any way you choose.
No matter how you do it - you really can not lose!
Let Mother Nature hug you - wrap you in her warm embrace.
And with her there beside you - life's miseries erase!

Standing slim and trim
in the blustering solar atmosphere
with his crown of pale olive leaves
salsa dancing in the ocean breeze

The soul of his young
offspring of coconuts
with their dense shells
like the skull of a human corpse
embracing their succulent
liquids of tropical vitamins
the rich taste of our West Indian roots
flowing like water from a river
drowning itself into the ocean

                                                                        Written by: Mia Pratt,2016

Money Tree

I saw a dream, the one in color.
That made me wonder if it's real.
I felt desire and felt purpose.
While steering boat made of steel.
There was an island on horizon.
And waves were calmly hugging shore.
The Sun was shining, clouds smiling.
And joy pierced air ever more.
So unobtrusively inviting
That island called me - "Welcome in".
The Angels sang and fish were jumping.
My heart felt like in ... well, in dream.
So, as I paddled little closer
I came to see a tree in sky.
With mighty roots impaling ground,
Thick leaves, ripe fruits and branches high.
The quiet voice without tremble
Kept whispering - "man, this is it.
Just look at leaves and fill your pockets.
They are same green as bucks and greed".
And suddenly, the Sun was winking,
The fish and crabs became a stew.
The closed doors lost all the lockers.
Unreachable got in foot or two.
The life got easier and joyful.
So many friends are rushing in.
The popularity, butt kissing
Shoot through the roof. I'm loved like king.
Then I woke up. The fading patches.
The joy inside but pain in heart.
Conflict of animals and Angels.
Feed Soul or Body, that's our fact.

If your crossroad is a highway

If Your Crossroad is a Highway

If your crossroad is a highway
And your soul needs a Sunday drive,
Take the scenic route up ahead
The speed limit is 25.
God is found in Mother Nature
And love echoes within her breeze,
Patiently raised by Father Time
You will find rest beneath her trees.

If your crossroad is a highway
And you are desperate for repair,
The next exit leads to the beach
Relax and smell the salty air.
Bury your feet deep in the sand
and send your worries out to sea,
Let the sound of the ocean waves
release your soul and set it free.

If your crossroad is a highway
there will be music in your drive,
lessons of life played through a song
karaoke will come alive.
One day you feel like rock n' roll
And the next day you cry the blues,
Life's genre at your finger tips
At the next crossroad you can choose.

The Apple Tree

Look intently into that apple tree
What do you see?
Lo and Behold , a swarm of bees
Something writhes and slithers,
Wait ,is it even a snake or just a rope?
Where have you ever seen a writhing rope?
But the winds are coming in quite hard
Well ,the rope could have fallen but never mind
A lot of rotten apples
Are you kidding me ?
And I think I have actually spotted a ripe orange
Oh my insolent head is playing weird games with me
The leaves look luminous
The glowing sheen so extravagant
But it depends on the side you are looking from
Take a couple of steps to the left,
It all becomes gloomy and lugubrious again
But who cares about the other side?
Aren't the riches of the better side enough?
 Life is too short
The agile black cat runs up the tree
It must have been attracted by this sweet savour
There is no other reason he could have climbed up that quick
But aren't cats extremely nimble climbers always ?
And wait ,do cats have a similar sense of smell to humans?
Are we even drawn to the same things ?
Oh silly me ,there is a snake in the tree
But wait ,Did i confirm if it is really a snake?
It might just be a rope
A slithering rope my guy?
Must be a very strange rope indeed
Well ,whatever the puzzle continues
Why am I worried about the cat and the snake anyway?
Shouldn't I be focusing on the bigger picture?
Surely I deserve a slap on the wrist at least
But no ,Is it my problem that my curiosity is out of control?
Can I control my mind's rampant wanderings ?
The apple tree , seems unbothered by the extravaganza around it
For a split second ,I could bet my whole fortune
a trickle of rain fell on my head
Am I only saying this because I actually don't have even a single dollar?
No , I don't want to imagine what you think could have happened
It will ruin my drea...
Did I just say dream ?
Yeah ,you should have told me this was too silly to be real

warm waters

don't misunderstand
i love feeling happy.
i live for the moments
that make my voice raspy.

gazing up at the moon
and i'm wrapped in a trance.
a willow tree waltzed around the lagoon
and asked me for one last dance.

warm waters, i see the river flooding.
warm waters, i know a change is coming.

The walking tree

On a frosty day in winter an old defoliated tree
denied the sky and the soil by the younger ones
walks out of the green forest in sheer desperation.
Crossing barren lands goes to a modern city quite far
But could see no sun of hope to get the foliage back
And could find no soil of compassion to stand erect.
It becomes a human without roots in concrete forest
Its heart soon breaks and forsaken hands hang unheld.
It picks up its broken heart on a burning day in summer
Walks back to the forest and burns humanity in forest fire.

Leotards versus jumpers but just what one per cent will actually climb a tree

One day an ancient barrel decided it had truly had enough as it tripped over a bale of hay on the staircase. ENOUGH he shouted ENOUGH. But the only thing to hear this cry was the walls and floors who looked on in hasty disregard. All they were concerned about was mind ingestion through liquid contact. Scrubbing swashbuckling swaddling striped silky sunbathers. And a mystical glow from a block of cheese was placed on a cracker then consumed for consumers carry cars carefully and a marriage between a fork and a knife can often result in many a ladle being born. Uncharacteristically of an unchartered flight with no pilot. And no stewards either. Just one acorn shaped passenger with a parachute. Jumping. Nose to tail. And a little wobbling plate of moose was often a multicoloured mess. Splat. And spoke to spokes on a three wheeled bike so easily as if it had known them all its life. Wow. Fragrant fashionable fickle fortresses. And a large bang of a bongo booming. Time to chop an eel then. Isnt it? Polling pools picture pollination play. And a diagram of a citrus tree is about as useful as a map of a jam jar. Haha palatable patted patterns pointing hahaha triangular key swiping a door. And a spotted eel and snake in jumpers are far more sensible than a worm in a leotard Xxxxx palatalization z z z z z
