Had Hoped to Find

Had Hoped to Find

Started sorting out and was hard to tell
Which one would be my favorite shell
Then did consistently, constantly, compare
All lying by beach shore here and there.

Some were round and others oblong and odd
That had been made by our great God
All of various colors and many designs;
Several with spiral and also curvy lines.

Through shells started to separate and strain
While ocean waves played a sweet refrain
Asking me why I have become a big creep
All of God's precious shells trying to keep.

In each day mornings will always break
So I then said to myself for goodness sake
Will be best if lovely shells are left behind
For others who often had hoped to find.

The Baptism

The Baptism

Like a baptismal rite, the waters flow
upon the sandy shore marred by the feet
of travelers. There in the golden glow
of sun where sky and land and ocean meet,
each scar is washed away by the deep reach
of blessed waves poured from the font-like sea...
here liquid spirit bathes the pitted beach
and leaves behind unblemished purity.

I walked along the water's edge and saw
the prints I made, which in a moment's time
were gone...the shore, agleam, without a flaw...
and I exalted in the holy clime,

as if my soul, like scarred and trampled sand,
was mended by the blessed sea's great hand.

the day you flew to Heaven

We knew , it was if a moment stopped in time
hearing the news before most of the World did
He loved to fly his plane from Colorado to Monterey Bay
He was a avid golfer at Pebble Beach respected

He had loves and passions from many places
deciding to fly low through the overcast red sunset
Not only did he love music and inspire all
He loved his Plane , he will always remain a beautiful Soul

The next day it was confirmed ..all saddened
It was John Denver's plane that went down
Today in Pacific Grove stands the Memorial
So Kiss me and smile for me we will ~
              always in loving memory
OH babe , do we hate you go ~

Don't rush to wash off the sea salt
drying on your skin;
the hopes it carries from other oceans,
those remain yet to be seen.

is it the waves kissing the sand
or is it the ocean?
- deep from her heart
day and night
sometimes gently
often hard
but always with passion

is it sand kissing back
or is it the land?
- happily losing ground to
his eternal mistress
the occupant of his soul
with every kiss
night and day

is it the poetry touching the heart
or is it our souls?
- hugging each other
on a sandy beach
wide and infinite
of wisdom and love
day in and day out

- since the beginning
until forever

Patience and Hope

Patience and Hope

Patience rolls in with the tides
And they hope to reach the shore,
The wind will help along the way
And time will bring the roar.
Patience will bring you beauty
And hope will light the sky,
Bury your toes deep in the sand
For a sunrise will never lie.
Hope creates the melody
And patience sings the song,
Let your soul lead you the way
Take a breath and hum along.

The Strand

This expanse of land has seen things.
Things all of us can only see in dreams.
It's seen war, it's gotten it's fair share of scars.
Bombs bursting, bullets throwing sand into the air like it's a volleyball tournament.
The sand running red with blood silently mocking our arteries.

This magnificent stretch of land has seen heroes' tears fall; dropping to their knees while sadness envelopes their fallen brothers but also looking up to their beloved whilst carrying a ring in their hand.

It's seen bright days, the sun glimmering over wet sand, footprints of past loves being washed away as the sun smacks the horizon.

This expanse of land...has seen things we can only imagine.

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

Deep in the Woods

Deep in the woods,

the branches dance in the wind,

wild and free,

Spreading their fragrance for

you and me.

Wild flowers sway,

as the wind try's picking them up,

Their roots planted firmly,

as they flow from side to side,

showing us all their glory,

and our makers touch inside,

shadows follow as they calmly go slow,

Deep in the woods,

time is well known,

as night takes hold,

until the morning,

when light takes control.

River of Me, Ocean of You

River of me
Flowing into ocean of you.
Carving rock, drifting branch,
I come to you a drop at a time.
Will I wash away in your vastness?
Lose myself in your crumbling waves?
Or together, shall we coalesce in aquatic dance
Dissolving before become one?
May our embrace be a whirlpool to the depths.
May our passion storm chaos upon the clouds.
For you are brick upon Impact,
But silk to the touch.
You are pure music.

Alas, the sun, she calls me,
Her heat drawing me skyward.
From your arms I must depart,
As our love vaporizes into thin air.
Static whitewash, curling crest,
Your brilliant memory is all that remains.
Until we meet again,
My dear.

The water.
It ripples and waves.
Its soothing to the touch and it runs over your body like an invisible blanket.
When life is too much to take I run to the water.
I've thought about lost loved ones over the view of the ocean.
As the waves ran over my toes and pulled back it was as if God was telling me I'm here.
I see your pain. I see your passion. In time I will wash them away.
When it rains, it stirs something inside of my heart. I know that as this storm shall pass, so will the trials of life.
The pain will be washed away. All will grow new again.
Pain is water.
Joy is water.
Life it water.
Water is beauty.

Over and over I play the scene in my mind.
The day I let go of God's hand. Only to be left behind.
My purpose in life is a long and winding path.
In fear of tomorrow. Scared today is my last.
Lost in a world that is dark and grim.
Everytime my path is lit my lamp is out of oil again.
As I reevaluate my life it's all 20/20
I stumble in a rut and land to my knees crying.
As I come to my senses I am greeted by a superior being.
Quieting me mentally to keep me from worrying.
With a gleem in his eye he stops to stare.
Then I get this feeling I have nothing to fear.
He held out his hand as if to Rise.
I could tell that he cares. I see it in his eyes.
Now when I look back there are one set of prints in the sand.
Because when in need God came to me and gave me a hand.

A Silent Wave

A silent wave rushing inside my heart

Your hand leading me so far we won't depart

Your voice I heard in away that's taking me far

Into a silent wave rushing inside my heart.

Oh the thrill it was to hear

your voice so silent as I opened up to you

so wonderful this silent wave rushing inside my heart

I was searching for a answer to a question for so long

there it was a silent wave rushing inside my heart

Your voice Lord, in ways I never found

a silent whisper so very loud

inside my heart the silent wave replied

to me your love is so divine..

So when the shattered dreams are filling your mind

please please listen to the silent wave rushing inside your heart.

spring begining's

Spring time is near when the dawning of sun light beacons upon the horizon and the butterflies roam throughout the sky,
among sun shine rays piercing through tender vibrant flowers
as their journey to blossom began's,
When the days linger into nights transforming the skies into shimmering stars of light, illuminating the golden specks of sand as sprinkling ocean waves crash against its grain,
while ripples of white water recede back into the depths of the sea,
Transcending reflections of the magnificent lights shimmering from the crisp stary sky
 AS springs just upon us.

Beauty God Contrived

The ebb and flow of salty seas cools sands
Calm rinses burning heat from sunny shores.
A gleeful child builds castles with small hands.
Serenely, Mother watches and adores.
The breaking waves dance when they reach dry lands.
The creatures of the seas stalk ocean floors.
There in the distance far below, life thrives.
The beauty of the deep our God contrives.

The ebb and flow of life has joys and pains.
God comforts every soul who calls His name.
Love like a child’s releases mortal pain.
Sincerely, Jesus seeks each soul to claim.
Distractions of the world are sought in vain.
Our Savior has a message to proclaim.
Because of Christ a sinful world revived.
The beauty of the heart is God contrived.

Little leaves

Little leaves falling down

floating lightly without sound

Keeping in touch with the wind in time

sheltering plants beneath the ground.

Floating slowly as the breeze picks them up

fading away with seasons divine.

Then looking up to the trees so high

little leaves bloom from the branch

to start again with a new season now

as the flowers bloom and keep all sound

the wind takes control and starts all over again.

A walk on the Beach

A Walk on the Beach

The calm ocean waves to the setting sun
A sea of diamonds light up the clear sky,
The sand comes to life and moves in the dark
I can hear the moon sing a lullaby.
A feeling of peace is found in the breeze
The seagulls tango in the salty air,
Foot prints disappear as the tide rolls in
The night paints the canvas with no despair.
The beach smiles as she shares her beauty
Amazing perfection within my reach,
Mother Nature kisses the night to sleep
Heavenly bliss is a walk on the beach.

Salty air breathed from crystalline peaks
I breathe in And catch a glimpse
of the dancing, bowed bodies.

They perform a graceful ballet;
like arrows shot from an archer’s bow;
they leap, breach and roll.

Their eyes have seen ages of brine and shifting sands.
I wonder if they really are the “Watchers”;
like the “Dogon” stories portray them.
Did they once have legs instead of fins
and can we really be their children?

Perhaps that is why they are so quick to help us;
Why a child who can not speak can suddenly come to life?
He won’t be silenced again,
after all, he swam with the dolphins.
Could it be the magic of the dance that heals?

Odd, that they are always there when needed
And can transform a stagnating life
into a miraculous moment of rebirth!

Be like waves which crash on the jetty

Washing all our impurities away

Waves like a crescent curtain dangling in its fringes

Unearthing sunken precious stones

Hurling them up above the elevation

Hanging on dear life right ahead

Waves that don't crush us because we wish it

Waves that surface and in turn are subdued

Waves we are in this depth of consciousness

Appeal to and unearth your Godly wisdom

Uphold and hang in the untimely crush

Be strong, be heard, be known and be well

For all will suffice at the end of the spray

Again and Again

sea oats sway
sand spills between toes
whisks of palm frons
bend in gentle song
while salamander's
jerky gyrations

gulls skirt skies above...

against ember hues

I view sun's last dance
along surf's tranquil
burnt horizon

I marvel at
this holy orchestration
my soul

Nature's Soul

Nature’s Soul

The smell of the salty air and the sound of seagulls tell me that I am home. My brothers wave to me as they roll into shore. My sisters walk with me and hug my soul with every step I take. I love to see my cousins twinkle in the nightly sky. I gaze into Mother Nature’s beauty as she welcomes my soul home with open arms while a calm breeze plays nature’s song. I am surrounded by peace as Father Time play chess with the moon.

Splendor on the beach

We meditated on the
beach a little after
dawn poured gold
over the ancient
pages of the
Bhagavad Gita

As David read from
that sacred text
seagulls paused
mid-air and sand
stood transfixed
pearls spilled from
his lips the
very ocean blue lips
of Lord Krishna

“Realize that which
pervades the
universe and
is indestructible;
no power can affect
this unchanging,
“The body is mortal,
but He who dwells in
the body
is said to be
immortal and
immeasurable” ~
Bhagavad Gita

I too listened
enrapt, eager to
learn more
the Sea rushed
anxiously towards us
lapping at our feet
its pounding surf
resembling the
mighty five horse
Chariot of Sri

Just then...
Krishna Janardhana
blew His conch
rays of the morning
sun ignite a
brilliant halo
crowning His head

“This infinite joy
of union with the
is easily attained
by those who are
free from
the burden of
self-will and
within themselves.”
~Bhagavad Gita

Mercury in Retrograde

Mercury in Retrograde
The stars play
troublesome pranks.
Send us back where we began
back again.
We crash we wake
and seethe,
like the pull from the moon
at night
on sand.
