My Family

flowers are women
in my family’s garden -
Mom and her daughters

rhythm surrounds me
as I sway in contentment -
September’s Aster

Geranium Jen
bends graciously in the breeze -
our southern comfort

charming Melanie
with her sunflower brightness
warms us with her smiles

Our sister Doris
the stalwart Gladiolus
will never fail us

With perseverance
Thea boldly holds her own -
sweet Delphinium

Mom at our center
a spiritual iris
simply inspires us

A forget-me-not
for my sisters and mother -
and roses of love

Viking Death Prayer

With raised sword and shield,
The Norseman yells to Odin
The Viking Death Prayer*

 *  The Viking Death Prayer

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother,
My sisters and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my people,
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me,
They bid me take my place among them
In the Halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave shall live forever,
Where thine enemies have been vanquished,
Nor shall we mourn but rejoice,
For those who have died
The glorious death.

Feelings from the Seventh Sister

River ever flowing
‘fore Gillette’s “Seventh Sister”
nature's beauty thrives

scenic view sparks thoughts
stone castle amid the trees
represents my life

A cool winter day
exhaling yesteryear's dreams
future seems unclear

Note: William Gillette's estate, called Seventh Sister, was built in 1914.
Connecticut's government took over the property in 1943 and it was
added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

LOVELY BABA LOVELY FATHER

lovely baba ! lovely father!!
we love you a lot , more than everything!
you treat us like a soft feather,
you did a lot in our up bringing!!!
you do everything for us,
you can do anything for us,
we know you suffer a lot of pain,
but always show that you are in pleasure,
you are perfectly perfect from every angle,
help us come out of worldly tangles,
may you not be there with us every time,
but you are far from us for our future,
you do every thing to nurture,
nurture us,nurture our feelings,
my BOB you are my everything!!!!!!!!!!
go early in the morning, come at night late,
our past and present you have create,
search for our medicines when we are not well,
gave your hand and brought me up whenever I fell,
you have spent sleepless nights,
to give us the future bright,
my lovely baba, in my sky,
you are the highest kite,
in m garden ,you are he coolest weather,
you are my strength ,you are my power,
happiness, smiles and joy ,you have showered,
thank you dad for everything ,I know,
my thanks can't solve your problems,
can't heal your wounds ,
but my lovely father!
always smile and be happy,
cause you cheered my life and I can't see you in problems,
one last request dear father,
always keep a smile and not a frown ,
you are the best father in the universe ,not only in town!!!!

    I CALL MY FATHER -BABA

What People Were and What People Are

People were
Many things.
Strange or not

People were
Different and
Odd and fun.

People were
Monsters but…
That’s not all

People were
And still are
Strange and odd.

People are
People. For
life is life.

Yet not.
Not is lies.
Truth seeps from

Every mouth
Lies, lies, lies
Move, move, move

But somehow
Lies prevail.
Lies are life.

Lies are death.
Lies are homes.
Lies are pain.

Lies are truth.
Yet somehow.
Truth prevails.

Truth is life.
Truth is death.
Truth is home.

Truth is pain.
Truth is lie.
Truth is that.

Lies will die.
Lies will cease.
Nevermore.

Truth will live.
Truth will be.
Forever.

Cut It OUT

I speak
without considering people's feelings--
BITE TONGUE!

I wink
foolishly in attempt to do a wicked plan--
NO LUCK!

I smack
my lips teasingly and annoyingly--
SOW LIPS!

I think
before I prank on my siblings--
DON'T EVEN!

I joke
around until I receive a laugh--
HA-HA...

I cry
out to get attention--
SHUT UP!

I chew
on my food loudly to irritate others--
CLOSE MOUTH!

I snap
my fingers in silliness--
QUIT IT!

I sneak
into my sister's room with a wake-up call--
GET OUT!

I write
in gibberish verses--
ERASE!

I type
my gibberish verses on Poetrysoup--
DELETE!!!!!!

I laugh
because I already posted my poem--
YOU FOOL!

I got
what I deserved--
A WACK!!!

I slam
my fist-shaped hands in sudden anger--
TRY ME!

I glare
at my bossy sister in disapproval--
WHAT BRO?

I close
my mouth so I won't say another word--
GOOD BOY!
