What a Snafu

This happens when you have no extra time-
There you stand in the queue
Patiently, you wait
There’re two ahead of you--
You’re so close to the gate
You watch as time runs out
Tick tock…., you’re in a crunch
Up goes the sign, “Out to Lunch”
Now, your face wears this pout
Oh! What a snafu!

It's funny how it's not enough to know you're right,
but you have to let everyone else know it too.
And then you wonder later how no one seems
to wanna be genuine friends with you.

Aggravated by Squeaks

My comfortable shoes are full of squeaks.
An unrelenting sound I can't possibly ignore,
Like an old wooden rocking chair that creaks
Or noisy wet sneakers on a tile floor.
It's quite loud and not only noticed by me, eek!
I've tried tip-toeing but it's causing footsore.
I'm aggravated beyond belief with these squeaks.

A time tested honor
to be branded a goner,
just stand in the middle
of their circle of blame.
In this sex-crazed society
still obsessed with propriety,
it is you they'll belittle
to protect their good name.

Sound of you Writing

I hear you writing a sad poem
while your breaking this my old heart
all this wealth from your repertoire
while my pathetic mind feeds you.

7 etc

A kid starts to whine
When you sit down to dine
In a restaurant costing big money.
Whether he's yours or theirs,
Quite everyone stares
And not one of them thinks it is funny.

You came in the name of He who gave you breath.
As certain as the emptiness of time,
as hopeful as your life, as hot and cold as death,
You came to stay.

No holy water, no excorcist's demand,
can quench my thirst; my need for all you are.
You fill my head with things not meant to understand,
You came to stay.

I breathe your name, tormented in my dream,
and sleepless is the night, You fill my time.
You are the joy of life beyond my dying scream,
You came to stay.

You came in the name of He who'll give us death.
You are the calm and blinding of the light.
Forever part of me, until my final breath.
You came to stay.
