Love is a thing

You can't see it nor can you touch it
But you sure can see and feel its effect

A deep affection that fills you joyfully
You are drunk on happiness

It's always understanding
To accept the good, the bad, and the weak

It has no cultural condition
It sees no boundary nor race

It's fearless and flawless
It just flows limitlessly

It's God's love
Nailed to the cross for you and me

It's in you and me
It's I love you and you and you and God

I am drunk on happiness
Because HE loves me unconditionally

This Moonlit Night

On the balcony I stand this moonlit night Behind me she sleeps content within sight If I stand to my left, allowing the moons pass This lunar beam delights my beautiful lass Dark haired, tanned, amidst silken white sheets Two loves of my life in glowing right meet Open doors where I stand this moonlit night It's I whom she sees in the morn's first light

- A Bird Sings Only When It Is Happy -

A white dove flies gracefully across vision
Shines as transparent pieces of ivory joy

I give you a Candle of Love, for inspire and encourage you
Blown gently upon a soft warm lovely breeze

Falling slowly like a ripe apple
With sad confusion, I promise you heaven

Everything will fall into place and gives you, perfect pleasure of life
Love whispering on wings fluttering deep

It is possible to change your tomorrow, if you seek your dream today
To watch the light change i pray for your beauty to return

My arms are full of flowers, the beauty the unfathomable grace
Reborn under a promise of color inside the mist bouquet dream

- Diamonds In The Snow -

Sparkling snow crystals in a bright blue winter wonderland in your hand
A lovely thought about my pretty and beloved mother land

If you see angels in the snow you can remember the time with romance
Enjoy the tranquility descend while giving your childhood a second chance

Snow glistened and sparkled as the most beautiful diamonds at first glance
It was almost a little magic in what happened.... or was it romance

Childhood memories aroused when you see the rabbit tracks in the snow by chance
Oh, so rich I felt as a child in the clear, cold winter nights in snow crystals dance

Small red kids boots in sharp contrast to the white snow and a diamond remnants
Childrens eyes shining in delight and snow crystals sparkle of happiness evidence

Always and Forever Happy Mother's Day

A gentle caring feeling grows with age
always precious heart of gold each and every year

Sings in your love undying devotion holds Heaven on wings
golden treasure the sun shining deep warmness

An angel inside a breath of unconditional kindness
within my mothers voice loving you true forever one song rings

On Valentine's Day My Love

On Valentine’s Day My Love

Our love is quite wondrous and enchanting all the yearlong,
And on Valentine’s Day its sparkles radiantly in Heaven’s very light.

As I look into your eyes My Love I marvel so at your very beauty,
And all the little things we do as One while renewing our love daily.

We seek our fortune and destiny together in all we do in our life,
Making every second, minute, hour, and day count for an eternity.

We are so blessed My Love that God helped us to find one another,
And to make our union of love, respect, and happiness so special.

As we walk now through this life in love as a couple together as One,
So too our eternal souls will walk on Heaven’s footpath always as One.

Valentine’s Day give us that time to reflect on our love so cherished,
And on all the things that matter the most to us beyond any human strife.

And so My Love as we renew our special commitment of love on this day,
We should rejoice in God’s blessing that our love will be One forever!

Standing in a dark dark room
Shadows gave an air of doom

Cobwebs hung across the wall
Spiders on silken threads did fall

Pumpkin faces cast an eerie glow
Ghostly white faces began to show

Skeletons and spooks and ghouls
Their red eyes glowed like ruby jewels

The door opened slowly, how the hinge did creak
A dark figure loomed and began to speak

Mum entered singing with a spooky birthday cake
For it’s my Halloween party not a deathly wake

Veils of Autumn re-visited - Contest

Writing different forms I find so hard to do
Yet I wrote a poem using the form dodoitsu

Wrote it with hope thought it was just fine
Liked by others, yet wasn’t placed this time.

I have re-read it since and in my mind it’s a star
the Veils of Autumn playing on your senses afar

It is there for all to read and enjoy that’s true
Not making the list, doesn’t take away the view

That this poem creates for all to see
Proud of this poem, cos it was written by me.

A Gift of Red

He caught me one night,
As I shivered with cold,
His words drew me forward,
As hearts stories were told.
Stories of love,
Of passions so pure,
Of lifes deep regrets,
Yet...his good humour endured.
Here was a man,
Complete and unending,
A man with deep talents,
A man worth befriending.
Now what he pulls forward,
With his poetic display,
Is the opening flowers,
In loves sweet bouquet.
A beautiful saviour,
Warm arms outspread,
My hearbeat grows stronger,
For my gift of Red.

A tribute to Red O'Mara

Thanks 2015

            Thanks for 2015

Year Two Thousand Fifteen appeared phenomenal
bestowing new meaning in life on novel arrival
of my granddaughter Arianna to draw
God's blessing to my daughter and son-in-law.

Daughter of my heart received me on June morning
in the airport with her pretty daughter smiling
on her lap, the cute little angel
giggling like ringing of jingle bell.

I glanced, enchanted and stretched hands to her.
She just plunged on me as if too familiar.
So-long forgotten reminiscences brought me shower of charms
I felt as if daughter of my heart returned back to my arms.

Thanks to the year Two Thousand Fifteen
for great reward of granddaughter to win.
I am overwhelmed to be a grand parent
to watch a bud to bloom in beauty and scent.

Feel Me

Feel Me

There have been times that I have laughed until I cried. Such laughs felt like medicine that numbs the pain.

Other times, I have laughed to keep from crying. Perhaps that may be a form of mixed emotions.

Sometimes, I feel like flying; however, I know I cannot. No, I don't have wings; but in my brains, I fly anyway.

Sometimes, I feel like crying; and then, I don't. Sometimes, I feel like crying; and I do, but hide my tears.

Sometimes, I feel like singing; but I'm no good at it. So, I sing silently, so that no one can hear me.

Sometimes, I feel like saying things no one wants to hear. At times, I say those things anyway; but most times, I don't.

There are times I feel like dancing; but I don't know how. That's right; I never learned to dance; but sometimes,

on a cheery day, and most things are going my way, when no one but God is watching, I dance anyway.

Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated

The littlest deeds still go a long way.
So better the world and try it today.

People don't realize the good they can do,
By holding doors open and smiling too.

Try to be chivalrous, try to be meek.
Try to be humble whenever you speak.

Others will notice the way that you are.
A light so unique, shines bright like a star.

Relay the message, conquer the kindness.
Replays impressive, actions are mindless.

We live to laugh, and love to be loved.
Turn both your cheeks, when pushed and then shoved.

Intuitiveness is a trick of the trade.
Instinctive bliss results moments well played.

"Treat others how you want to be treated."
This motto of life makes smiles repeated.

I Will be Happy

One day in prison I decided to pray
Since then everything has been going my way

When I learned I had Hepatitis one day
I turned it around in a positive way

I summand every drop of strength that I had
Wrote out my books explaining, “This is my bad”

My back injury forever changed my life
Since then everyday is marred with pain and strife

Returning to school was a choice that I made
Making the most out of the price that I paid

Happiness is no more than a frame of mind
Each circumstance holds some happiness to find

It’s all in the way, which you choose to believe
Life is way to short to set around and grieve

Your cup is half-empty, well mine is half-full
As I am a student this life is my school

It’s easy to be happy when all is glad
The trick is learning to find joy in the sad

I’m happy because I refuse not to be
Life is whatever we make of it, you see

Whatever this life chooses to throw my way
I will be happy at the end of the day

Because, I quite simply refuse not to be
This life is the hound dog and I am the flea

By the, "Blood Of The Lamb," like it or not
I'm draining this life of everything its got

One thing is for certain, life will always
be full of trials and test. Happiness is born
within; therefore, these trials and test can
only alter our course they cannot define them.
Learn to make the most out of every situation
and you will have learned how to be happy!

Happy Birthday Carol and Antoinette

April seven is joined together in two special ways
My wife and Carol Brown were each born that day

In so many ways, they remind me of each other
For each one has the heart and soul of a mother

Like a great big clown riding a little bitty bike
Antoinette and Carol are the type we naturally like

Two separate women who hold pieces of my heart
Although, each one holds a completely different part

Antoinette was able to see what no one had seen
Inside of this nightmare lived a very beautiful dream

Carol’s beautiful heart was able to help me to see
Poetry Soup was exactly the place I needed to be

Two very different women with two similar souls
Played significant roles in my reaching my goals

One helped me piece together my shattered heart
The other helped me keep it from falling back apart

I think I’m truly about as lucky as any man can be
There are so many different people care about me

Carol is just one of many I love here on the soup
I’m lucky to have landed in such a beautiful group

Carol, never doubt the truth in these words I say
This is the highest complement I could ever pay

To be written alongside a poem with my wife
Means “I Love & Respect” every drop of your life

You’re the very first to have landed in this spot
Old friend I reckon that means I love you a lot

April seventh I’ll proudly find my knee’s and pray
You’ll have a wonderfully blessed special birthday

i wanted to write Carol a Happy Birthday poem
but I wanted to give it special meaning. Anyone
who knows how much I love, admire, and adore
my wife; knows that for me to place someone in
a poem alongside her, is the highest complement
I could ever make. Carol thank you for the love,
friendship, support and prayers you have given me
over the years. I'm very honored to be your friend.

Oak Tree Swing

There's a swing that is hung from a long oaken tree,
By a string where the young have a longing to be.

Where they fly to the sky, ever higher they go,
Till they cry, "Not so high! I shall die, don't you know?"

And they tread through the wold all around by the tree,
Where it's said ruins old can be found by a key.

How they thought many-a night how this fact could be true,
And they fought to set right while they wracked in a crew;

But they never could figure that blur in the tale,
So they clamber with vigor the fir by the trail.

They'd retrace to the place where the moss covered tree
Like a face, beamed with grace as it tossed o'er the lea.

Such a hold that tree held on their glad little selves
As they trolled songs of eld with the bad little elves;

And the song that they sing is a song specked with tears,
Of a long oaken swing cast along through the years;

Left alone by the lane, overgrown, never seen,
Ever blown by the rain, with a groan deep and keen,

Till a small little girl stopped a while on her way,
And a tall oaken burl with a smile bade her stay.

How she clove in a dive through the grove, and the tree,
How it throve, came alive in the cove, in the lea.

Oh Happy Day

Oh happy day, happy day!
The sun is smiling, everything's okay.
I'm alive by God's design,
Oh happy day, I'm feeling fine!

Life is meant to be enjoyed,
so happy thoughts I have employed.
Today I'm gonna shout and sing,
not gonna worry about anything!

Life's too short to be all down,
and no one likes to see a frown.
So I'll tie my cares to the tail of a kite,
and fly that thing clean out of sight!

Oh happy day, happy day!
The sun is smiling, everything's okay.
I'm alive by God's design,
Oh happy day, I'm feeling fine!

You And I Can Smile

We can smile like a child who does not know yet many things,
In simple things he’s satisfied, showing his contented feelings.

We can smile like a drunken man, feeling so drowsy and woozy,
Who sings and wears a smile , trying to forget and not to worry.

We can smile like a chimpanzee, who’s so happy with a banana
After giving us a big grin, we can leave him and write our stanza.

We can smile like my grandpa who dearly loves my grandma
Feeling Adonis with his strength, he’s never been into a stigma.

We can smile like blooming sunflowers on those summer days,
Despite the debilitating heat, we can still stand tall with grace.

We can smile like the sun that often shines so bright
Assuring that everyday you and I will gonna be alright.

We can smile and smile even the world sometimes wrenches our heart,
For sadness is a transient and in God’s love, He keeps us without a doubt.

You can smile just like me, who’s already experiencing a bad memory,
But I think I’ve nothing to worry about, for the computer does all for me.

At all times, you and I can wear a smile in any way we want
Infecting others to retain beauty, stay young in body and in heart.

Smiling into the wind is an exercise in futility
The wind has no eyes to notice this ability
Smiling in darkness no value has it earned
But smile into a mirror and it's always returned
It will not fade at the end of each each day
But is renewed by looking a new mirror's way

Magic Beans

Enchanted magic beans,
They were always enchanted to me.
Worth their weight in gold,
They never ever got old.
Some people would complain,
Some would look at them with disdain,
But magic beans meant the world to me,
They brought me warmth and satiety.
When you were of little means,
Your mind had to spark with creativity.
You could not always expect the next best thing,
Avoiding magic beans like a bee sting.
My mom would bring home our magic beans,
She would then drop them into the swirling seas.
She stirred them in a cauldron boiling hot,
I then waited for my sustenance cooking in the pot.
Today I still gather magic beans,
Even though I am no longer of little means.
The happy memories come flooding back,
As I pour magic beans from their overflowing sack.

Irish Blessings

~Irish Blessings~ (Rhyming Couplets) Again is another St. Patrick's Day And we celebrate it in a grand way We sure like wearing something green And show it upon a shirt or a pair of jeans There's something nice about this holiday And lots of us agree that is a special day When we can think for some good reason About other things that relate to this season Some people feel just like dancing While making merry and all the way laughing Some like watching for those jolly green little men Leaping and dancing while carrying gold by the glen St. Patrick's Day is a very happy day Filled of fanciful fables the Irish way Enshrouded in mysteries and fairy tales One more than the other behind an Irish veil So today is another St. Patrick's Day Let's dance and be merry the whole day Let's search for leprechauns and for a four-leaf-clover And find rainbows even after this day is over. Words and Barks

People were given a gift called speech
Most of the time they have nothing to teach

Dogs on the other hand can roll their eyes
They say more with wags and cries

Often people's unending words don't matter
It might be better if people would bark and dogs chatter

Ohhhh Rain : Shower again

A small romantic rain poem dedicated to hubby.
wrote by Mrs.Madhavi.Suyog.Pagare

"Ohhhh Rain..Shower again!!!!! "

Showering in the rain,
Draining the pain!
Enflueraging the essence of arenicolous sand,
Feeling blessed porting on this beautiful greenary land! Trees were roaming
under fiercing winds,
Thanks nature for benevolently so kind!
Sip of sizzling coffee With Caramalized sugar,
Cheers hubby to accompany me my gelling agar!
Wanna capture this Driplets of aromatic water nearby lake,
So that I can make an icy snowflake!
That's amazing, "but ohhhh God, I wish my honey is here".

Getting a seat on the metro at five
Drinking hot tea at home - coming alive
Playing my guitar and humming a tune
Rocking this tiny baby in my arms - asleep soon
With my kids building lego
Or telling them stories of times long ago
Sensing the soft weight of the cat on my knee
Purring and pushing his paws into me
Hearing my wife’s unexpected laughter
Seeing her happy at dinner and smiling long after
Cuddling up with her on this stormy night
The rain lashing and windows closed tight.

Happy Valentines Day , or

Happy Valentines Day ... or for the rest of us
"It Sucks to Be Single Day"

Bring on the chocolate and the chick flicks.
For single girls, this is our kicks.
No one will send us flowers this year.
This holiday is not for we singles I fear.

Couples in restaurants, couples in parks,
couples in the movie theatre setting off sparks.
For them its a holiday like no other.
Their sappy little faces we'd like to smother.

T.V. commercials and our families take care
to remind us we're single while love's in the air.
Yes, we're alone on Valentine's Day.
No roses or jewels are headed our way.

No secret admirers , no Valentine's card.
For this one day, being single is hard.
Of Valentine's day we've all had enough.
Please no pitying looks, we're just not that tough.

So we'll call this "It sucks to be single's day"
.....Now pass the chocolate..... and just go away.

Spun Fun

                               SPUN FUN

I wonder about nonsense and things that are askew,
Like, if you strangled a Smurff would it's face turn Blue?
And is Rudolf's nose really as bright red as they say?
I mean, would you recognise him if you saw him in May?
Sentences we use are strange and wonderful to decide,
Why do we say stairs are indoors and steps are outside?
We're always looking for something that’s left us bereft
If you lost your left arm would your right arm be left?
I watch sports on TV the player's struggling in a ruck,
I mean, I get enough exercise just pushing my luck!
Why don't cemeteries explain the prices they're giving?
They just moan and blame it all on the cost of living!
Science and its wonders and the knowledge they spark.
If they are so cleaver, answer me, "what’s the speed of dark"?
But my brain starts to throb and the questions grow dim.
And the fool inside me says, good night to me and him.

Happy Seventy First Anniversary

The Alphabet Contest
Sponsor: Alfred Vassallo

A Is For Anniversary

Their love story began on April twenty-third, nineteen forty-five,
two young lovers vowed eternity before their family's eyes.

There were hard days ahead living through the Great Depression,
an economic decline, raise in unemployment through recession.

World War II came and he went off to fight for his country,
only communication was through a few letters mailed monthly.

Back home with a baby waiting for him in his lover's arms,
war had ended and he came home to protect his family from harm.

Six children within twelve years, their family was complete,
he was such a hard working white collared man only wearing pleats.
She stayed at home to raise the kids, for that was way back then,
shopping for food and doing laundry, dedicated mother til' the end.

Children grew up and off to college or a marriage of their own,
while the loving couple became grandparents, oh my how they've grown!

Fifty years flew by and they kept the same routine everyday,
ten years later came great grandchildren they were so proud to display.

A decade later we noticed a decline in his health from arthritis and old age,
she also was getting frail very slowly with each passing day.

For now it was the children's turn to take very good care of them,
falling all the time, visits is the ICU, and hospice could never prevent.

He had lived to be ninety eight, while she is now ninety three,
his time on earth had come to an end, and he was finally free.

So many fond memories survived each one thought of with many tears,
this April twenty-third, they would have been married seventy one years.

I speak to the Lord nightly in thanksgiving for their love and His mercy,
I'll whisper to the sky, “I love you Grandpa, happy seventy-first anniversary.”

Donut Shop Jingle

It's worth the trip-you know that's true.
So have yourself a piping brew.

A rich and pleasing Columbian treasure.
No other coffee can quite measure.

Sure, I'll have a donut or two.
Glazed or cream filled-either will do.

Yet it's the coffee I come here for.
One cup leaves me wanting more.

Trickles down my thirsty throat.
Hugs me like a comfy coat.

There's no other java quite as good.
Just my opinion-that's understood!

Pieces of paper and pieces of strings. Everywhere we can find pieces of things. Pieces of cake, fruits, chocolates, and meat and so many other good foods we can eat. Sweet pieces of heaven and pieces of earth! But pieces of some things have little worth. There are pieces of cardboard, puzzles, and ice, furniture, clothing, and even advice. Pieces of wood and of mere plastic too are screwed onto things or put on with glue. We get pieces of jewelry, money and art. but only one piece of (if not one’s whole) heart! Sometimes a person more than releases - He picks, pulls or tears or smashes to pieces! Folks fall to pieces, but as for me, it’s “thrilled to pieces” I wish to be!
