The word you're looking for Milt is 'sterotype/sterotyping,' I think. :) And btw, once again: The homeland of the Jews is Israel. We are commanded to live there in the Torah, and we are all able to go there today, as we don't have to contend with the British or the Ottomans, or all the other imperialists of the past. Those who choose not to go have, plain and simple, transgressed a commandment of G-d. Moses Maimonides, the brilliant Decisor of Jewish Law and Physician to the Egyptian Court, used to sign his correspondence thusly: Moshe ben Maimon, who every day transgresses the commandment to live in the Land of Israel. GW, I couldn't think of the word (in my mind) that prompted this comment. What is it when you lump people together and assign a characteristic to all of them without regard to individuality? I feel like I'm losing it when I can't think of a very familiar word like that...and I still can't come up with it! Damn!

Interesting comment, Milt. Actually I did think about it. I've looked at this in the mirror for over 50 years now: The Truth hurts... I can still remember the days not even 45 years ago, when most Israelis expected the Diaspora to come settle in Israel... A pipe dream now... But that is what God wants of us Jews, whether we like it or not, or whether we do it or not. I went to live in Israel -- but then I left. So, I'm a failure in that regard. ~ Looking in the mirror

In America, yes... In Israel, doesn't work that way... Starting from scratch in Israel, you need to have 'connections' to make it, a rich uncle abroad, or a really super-hot occupation, i.e., aerospace engineer or pro basketball player. lol.
