“You are beautiful because of the light
you carry within you." – Alexandra Elle
Zen
In the quietude of my room
After the onset of pitch gloom
With mind set to rest, I dare reflect
Where lies beauty that is perfect.
Deep from my inner self, a voice
Seems to whisper some words of choice,
Words long blown by the winds of time,
Yet appear divine and sublime.
“Outer beauty dulls in a day
Like fair flowers that fade away,
Like rainbows that last for a while,
Like shooting stars that live awhile.
Beauty of true loving hearts shines
All the year round for a lifetime,
But it is interred in the bones
When laid to rest under the stones.
Perfect beauty lies in the soul
That lives as a tiny whole
Beyond the bounds of time and space
And inscribes an eternal trace.
Beauty of the soul shines like gold
Amidst the fallen leaves of the fall,
Amidst the dreary winter snow
And amidst the spring shining glow.
Challenging the sands of time,
Souls` beauty just remains sublime
As souls do not turn old or cold,
But till eternity they hold.
As a soul never, never dies
But does in heaven ever lie,
The beauty of the inner soul
At end blends with the Supreme Whole.
Let us cherish the soul`s beauty
That ever shines and stands steady
In the sparkling summer sunshine
As in the dreary winter time.”
