You'Re the Only One

I’m truly sorry that I made you cry, I only want to hear you laugh and sing. For deep inside, a part of me would die, should you ever regret your wedding ring. I can't believe how bad I've treated you, you are the only one I'll ever love. And if one day you should say we are through, I will damn my soul and curse God above. I must be the stupidest man alive, but I vow it won't always be this way. And my only hope is love will survive long enough; for me to prove what I say. And if you forgive this old fool, my dear, I promise; you'll not spill another tear. (Sonnet) 8/31/2016

Beautiful sonnet Emile, very heartfelt, a lesson for most men who find it hard to apologize. A great write that only you can do.

I love the picture you posted with your poem Emile - it can be so difficult to say you are sorry and to be forgiven for past mistakes especially in a relationship:-( I love the positivity in the final couplets:-) hugs Jan xx
