You're Not the Boss of Me

Please don't add insult to injury
Let’s agree to disagree
Somewhere somehow inadvertently
You lost the last of your integrity
You’re not the boss of me

You’ve forgotten the basics of courtesy
And carry on quite dastardly
You spit out words maliciously
At every opportunity
You’re not the boss of me

So moody and such vulgarity
Not a bone of decency
You don’t deserve my loyalty
I’m not the cure for your ennui
You’re not the boss of me

You walk around obnoxiously
In your heart there’s cruelty
Spewing comments begrudgingly
Everyone deserves their dignity
You’re not the boss of me

I hope you got this out of your system, and I hope you got this person out of your life, lol! Good use of vitriol and monorhyme with the perfect refrain ~ John

Thanks, John. It was the equivalent of a bout with a punching bag. LOL

Line, You reminded me of a storied place from long ago. A place I long to return to see... with Kukla, Fran, & Ollie. -Richard

Richard, you had me curious so I googled to discover Kukla, Fran and Ollie was an early American television show using puppets, created for children but loved by adults, entirely ad-libbed, broadcast from 1947 to 1957. As Arte Johnson would say... VERRRY INTERESTING.

Oh, I am taking my cookies and running home. I have met this person, and I do not wish to spend another minute in her presence. Great character sketch Line.

great rhyming poem, LIne. I know a woman who says this all the time to people . She is handicapped and needs advice yet she thinks people are bossing her around when they are just trying to help her.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad. People have got to want to help themselves because some are quite happy being in 'poor me' mode.
