your voice trails behind me

your voice trails behind me
lost in the shadows of the hallways
silence amidst the din of existence
colors hold no warmth
dawn only brings time moving
watching the children in the park
lost in the joy of playground entertainment
the future has a secure ambiance
a smile wanders across my face
it is a painting hanging in a gallery
your voice trails behind me
lost in the shadows of the hallways
there are no real mysteries to life
only answers in the cauldron
then you walk into the room
and the enchantment in life returns
as Van Morrison wrote
have I told you lately, i love you
conveys the deepest love we share
the breath of Creation

what inspired this poem as most of mine on love are was Ejlvis Presley's, The Wonder of You....The song "The Wonder of You" was written by American songwriter Baker Knight

Music is very influential in my writing....and my Muse requires it, and what she wants, she receives....with never a question asked

that I would have no doubt as we poets tread carefully among the masters lest they become our intentions but I would say also, every man whose heart knows, it is in moments love achieves its devotion....it never tarries....love is measured in the constancy of breath
