as they prance on the narrow balance beam.
Breathtaking moves, never thinking to quit;
never losing site of that golden dream.

Twisting with grace amid strong somersaults,
impossible feats commanding the floor.
Soaring past fate to complete perfect vaults,

Thanks Ann for sharing your lovely sonnet. Sets me off thinking about those competing in the current Olympics. I admire them, pushing themselves to the limit. And maybe collecting a gold. Best wishes. Tony

It takes a special human being to tumble, injure one's self, rise, fall, and rise again until they get it right, so we all enjoy seeing them succeed!

I remember, years ago, I think it was a Japanese male gymnast who did his whole routine with a broken foot. And not long ago, an American girl did her vault with one. They're amazing! Thanks, Rico.

They are amazing to watch Ann, they are truly dedicated gymnasts who train for hours every day. Great ambassadors for their respective countries. Tom

Milton, you're so nice! Thank you for your kind words. I think those tiny gymnasts are the bravest of the brave.
