You Waited

"you waited"

our eyes never met for I journeyed without looking
our hearts weren't joined for that door was closed
suddenly one fine day with open eyes there you were
waiting for me to see the love of what could be

it took me long to find your eyes and heart
I have no explanation to give or offer you
we shared empty hellos never seeing or knowing
never truly seeing you were waiting for me

such times are behind with loving winds
lifeless hellos are now blissfully filled
your eyes and heart waited to no ends
placing us together with love to build
