You Look Scary

One old barber who confesses he's weird
Persuades his clients to cut off their beards --
   Quoth he, "You look scary!"
   Razors them un-hairy --
Screams they're even scarier fully sheared

:) Great limerick, Gershon. I think most men look better with beards when they're neatly trimmed. And I have met people with beards who later shave and lose their appeal. Maybe not "scary," but not as attractive. My late husband did this right before our wedding to surprise me and I definitely "freaked out." Was young... Sending winning wishes for you in the contest, Carolyn

Well, John didn't look nearly as attractive without his beard. Was not happy when he shaved it.

If I win the top prize, I promised my wife that I'd shave my beard, which I've had for 41.5 years...Ha, ha. She actually thought I might win with this one... See: You were lucky your husband shaved his when he did...My wife now wishes that I had 'surprised her' on our wedding day, believe me. ~ gw

Back because I have only just noticed the ABC-ness, which says something about my obtuseness or the greatness of this limerick or perhaps both. I should have noticed at "quoth"!

My motto: Never loathe to use 'quoth' --- but never use both... Oh, well...You see why I'm no comedian! :) gw

I know a barber who would love this. I may have to copy and send if you do not mind. It is funny that sometimes they do look worse beard-less.

By all means, please send it to your that barber...And they do, indeed, sometimes look worse beard-less. :) gw

Desperate times call for desperate measures...I don't know where that line came from... (and I don't really want to find out either. LOL). Thank you for your encouragement and support. Best wishes, Gershon

LOL great limerick, Gershon. But the barber's got to go!

Let's send him to Crown Heights, NY where the Lubavitch Chassidim live, almost all of whose adult males have long flowing beards, which they won't cut for religious reasons. If that's not enough for him, we can give him a one-way ticket to an Amish village for a year. Ha, ha. Good suggestion, Line! :) gw
