You Left Me Wondering Why

You Left Me (Mum)

Did you not care

That you just left me there

Not wondering why I was scared

As you walked back down the stair

How can a baby ever know

That their parents just sometimes go

And what is the reason for wondering why

That you yourself never had a cry

You could have come back later

When things for you might have been better

But you said that what you wanted

Was for me to forget you 

So I know now I was not wanted

Good job though you taught me a lesson

That I can be a better parent

As my own son I love like no other

And even though I am not with his mother

And many decades have since past

We both care and share our son

And its a love that no one else can put asunder

So you my mum have left me wondering

Why did you just leave me to cry?
