Notes About The Poem

You Have To Shut Up

they lurk in corners, safe and dark
until they decide to growl and bark
then point an ugly old crooked finger
spittle drooling on the chin, they linger

arguing any point for arguments sake
no sense do they ever seem to make
they pretend to be a master know-it-all
a braying donkey left too long in its stall

always insisting to have the last word
looking like fools, they are quite absurd
these egotistic imbeciles act quite spastic
the pretenders who are all made of plastic

Love this poem my friend. I am always in the dark when it comes to how things work at the Soup. I just wish greater kindness would be shown to what some ""think"" are --""lesser poets"".. and therefore not worthy. Sad that such activities, etc. , drove my dear friend Peter Duggan away and several other friends too.

"a braying donkey left too long in its stall" What a classic line Lin! This was great humor for me to say good night with. Cheers, Connie

Thank you, Jan. I'm honored to have been 'selected' by human thought instead of machine, as the very first recipient. ;-)

Peaches, there must be something wrong with my computer. It shows Mike with the POTD. Oh well, is your bite worse than your bark? Very funny with a hint of spite. Tasty:) If you won something, Congratulations. I'm a fan:)

It's not potd, Danny. It's potd_c...I'll explain privately. HOWEVER, yesterday morning Dale's poem about Jan and Lin slaying a dragon was potd, then it was removed and Mike's poem was potd. TPS giveth and taketh away. It's supposed to be a random choice, so it's not really an honor.

I love a good rant, Lin! Nicely done! Tao: Those who speak do not know; those who know do not speak! That's my rant for the day! Lol I see you made POTD too, congrats

Words of Wisdom, Wolf...ranting helps relieve certain frustrations. Thanks.

Oh, I hear ya, sister! I know of a big, smelly, obnoxious dragon who was just like that; or is--the town folk might want some proof of purchase. Hmmmmm.
