You Do Believe
You believe
it’s all innocent,
the programs
that infiltrate your mind.
it builds
from age to age,
and it’s nothing new.
there is
nothing new, under the sun.
You believe
the devil does not exist,
likewise God,
but you do believe
in good and evil.
You know
it exists!
You’re tempted to eye
ghost and goblin surprise.
You let in the flood,
don’t even repair
the dike.
You play with cards
and ouija boards.
You pretend that there is no spirit
behind the deck, the intent.
You admire gems,
not for God’s masterpiece,
instead for a power.
You’re holding an idol.
Wear it - fine,
but don’t play with fire.
The burn is building as you
are blending spells.
You think it is innocent!
Open up
the book
that tells the truth.
Why be afraid of it?
Don’t lie
and say I don’t understand it.
I bet you very well
understand the commandments.
What is lacking is mercy and grace -
you’ve hidden those under fairytales.
The devil is snickering.
When he gets found out he has a mad temper -
he doesn’t want you to believe in anything
but your self,
to thank your self importance,
forget everyone who has ever been
there for you.
he wants you mean and bitter,
tender to the bone,
burnt to a crisp.
Let God have the final word, on that,
then you won’t lose
your soul.
