You Are the One

You are the one
Who fell for me
Took me out on dates
Treated me out
Drove me around
always Fondled my hair
Drew me close
remember you gave me the first kiss
Felt me passionately under the moonlight
Told me mine was the scent
You adored
Impressed me with your wits
You are the one
Who one day
Proposed me
Said you'll take care of me
Of all my needs
Never desert me
Never hurt me
You are the one
To have asked my parents
For my hand
The consent given
We came closer
we jumped off boards for fun
all Well enjoyed time
You are the one
Who married me
Wedding vows were undertaken
Vowed to be together
Through thick or thin
You are the one
To take me home
And were always by my side
Life went on smoothly
Then came our baby
You went to work
Brought home toys
Played ,loved and hugged
The baby always
now you are the one
Who wishes
To live separately
To desert me for another
Changed the course of our lives
I'm still in a maze
What prompted you
Variety or status change
Whatever so
We have now drifted away
You are the one
Who now will ,sit and regret.

I love the concept of poems being stories and this one is so great. I like how in the end the character is heart broken but then you flipp the script with the last line saying,"You are the one, Who will now,sit and regret." Very well written.
