This is the third in the series of poems blessing my child. Hope you enjoy it!
How else can a mortal envisage your greatness
if not through the envy of the majestic existence
of the cedar of Lebanon?
Your lofty height is damped in shady foliage
And beautiful branches multiplying with long boughs
Underground springs direct their rivers
all around the place where you’re planted
making you greater than all the trees in the field.
Thick and solid, wider and commanding,
strong and bold, gigantic and forever young
even the general shermann giant sequoia
bows to your simple intimidation
All the birds of the sky will nest in your branches
all the animals of the field will give birth beneath your boughs
and your shade will create a means of livelihood to great nations
The beauty of your greatness extends to the height of your limbs
and your roots extending to abundant waters.
Behold! Not even the cedars in God’s garden rival you
nor the pine Trees compare to your branches.
Also the plane ones, matching your trunk
b'cos out of you, the coals of life would be burned
And a better existence accurately circumcised.
