You Are My Wings

I said that my stomach is made of steel my blood cold, my heart pure stone. And you laughed, you always laugh. I said I wanted to cry, curl up on my bed give up... And you laughed so much, That you almost cried. Finally then I told you That I just wanted to be who I am To live fully and truly, To be free. And you stopped laughing and smiled at me.

Your poem really does a great job creating a mood. Also the imagery of the wisps of hair escaping the braids was spot on. I love the ending with the writing on the palm with her fingers. Nice work!
