You

I loved you before your eyes were blue
Before your face belonged to you;
Before I heard your voice, I knew
The love I never knew was you.
                                                                                                                           Long days and nights I yearned for you
Without a name or shape for you;
And when at last I met you
I knew I had always loved you.

And when I lay in bed with you
Enchanted by the night and you;
Holding close the naked you
I knew I'd always be with you.

Wow! What a romantic poem, Elizabeth. A write overflowing with passion. I like it. Thanks for visiting my poem Pain -The Destiny of Man. I am sorry I am responding to your comments of April 20 today as it wasn't communicated to me. What your searching eyes have seen in my poem is right. It is indeed my story. Went through Spinal Stenosis operation. Second part is destined to stay till I live. Tell me what happened to your back pain. Did Botox injection work? I hope it did. Love. -Mohammad

SWEET poem Liz! Wasn't sure if you were writing about an as yet unborn child (check out my latest poem) or the perfect specimen of a man like me:) Ha - Ha - Ho-Ho Hee-Hee Sweety! But seriously, thanks for reading & commenting on the Uncertainties of Life. It certainly is a fickle little thing don't ya think? Always keeping us on our toes! Life's full of surprises and your one of the best I know. Thanks again and keep on writing your uplifting poetry. Terry

A dreamy and tender write, Elizabeth. A beautiful read before heading off to bed, will make the night feel soft and peaceful. I'm doing fine, some days I think I'll start back writing, then something else pops up.:( Keep well, Love, Mikki

What a beautiful poem. I especially love the first stanza. It brings visions of a mother's love for her child. Superb poem.

Great work..It leaves me with questions so that is good...I am glad that I chose this one to read this eve...Thanks for stopping by..I was on the outter edges of the storm with only one day of massive dark clouds but no rain and wind..We have had wind for days..The jet stream brough us colder air down from Canada sort of a little touch of winter...Sara
