Yet To Come
He can't reach her.
His fingers never
brushed her skin in the rain
and yet she ripples.
Just one smile,
two eyes and a soul that
breathes solace like lillies
into her existence.
She feels herself
unfolding like a butterfly
against the memory of
what hasn't happened.
