Yet Brokenhearted

Some say Love is everything Some say love is nothing Of course, if one has never been loved, never felt such warmth from another; absent the caring nearness of a dear mother, father, sister or pal-of-a-brother not been taught by nurturing family but, in fact – of love deprived then, before lived, to one's buried heart love has already died… It is not, necessarily, that one’s heart has never sincerely desired though not tried, but the painting of his world his experience has so lied any chance for developing empathetic features -- his nature has been cruelly deprived – therefore, before the feathering brushwork of him, his portrait of love has already cracked, peeled, unrecognizable~ dried…. Sometimes things lost are never found: that sand-castle on beach, adult, sunny, encouraging faces, painted by the sun like a silly made-up clown -- Somethings lost, are never found Some couples meant to be are never joyfully bound by faith in cherished sacrament of marriage...Cupid and his trusty bow left sadly to disparage. God has His Heaven, and the Devil our misguided low-some hell before learning to soar~ man fell the joy of loving stopped before started – and the Spirit of Love, yet brokenhearted….

This is so touching a poem resounding the pain over the loss of love. When God is all love, the devil is all malice and hatred. In the combat between God and the devil. it is the devil who often wins. "before learning to soar~ man fell/ the joy of loving stopped" So true, dear Joe. All of us are pained by this stark reality! A wonderful poem. Into My FAVE.

Thank you, Vijay; that's all a writer can really hope for, to write something that others can relate to in my opinion. We are all different, yet hopefully enough alike to relate in meaningful sensitive ways.

Such a deep look at relationships, this treatise is a deep poem . Love can be attained. Perhaps not everyone wants that tied down feeling.

Hi Hilda; of course, I hear you. Especially in the case of marriage, so much needs to a-line: lifestyles, timing -- and no loving is less powerful.... Great comment.

I imagine he has broken many a bow, refusing to admit the archer was too emotionally involved. God's love is extreme, tenacious. Sometimes mended arrows unite ever-more dearly.

I liked your poem and how you compared lost love to a sandcastle washed away by the tide. So touching, made me a bit misty-eyed. You're right. Sometimes things lost are never found. Although your poem was a bit melancholic, it resonated with me. Liked it. Have a great evening, Sara

The bible speaks of clay...I guess, made of sand-castles, eventually washed away by tide would work in the same context. Fortunately, that is only our carriage of descent, carrying substance of spirit-omnipotent.

Through vivid imagery and metaphorical language, your poem evokes a sense of loss and longing. The comparison of love to a sandcastle washed away by the tide emphasizes the ephemeral nature of love and the pain of its absence. Additionally, the mention of couples who never find joyous union despite their potential for love adds a layer of melancholy to the narrative, suggesting that some destinies remain unfulfilled despite earnest desires.

Thank you, Si; for taking time to consider this write. I have no answers...all my writes are personal tries and self revelations. Hoping I am not so different, and maybe what worked/failed for me will benefit others. Ultimately, fate is a mystery. I am often reminded of a saying told to me by people with much experience: "there are no atheist in Fox Holes".
