Yesterday and Tomorrow

Yesterday and Tomorrow Yesterday was filled with so many promises of happiness And now all I have to remind me is empty tomorrows Yesterday I had you and the world was at my feet Now my world is shattered and the glass cuts my feet Together we hoped and dreamed but that was yesterday We were both searching for true love, night and day If only we knew what heartache tomorrow would bring We would have clung to the joy we had with everything We can count all the ifs and could have been's There would be more than the stars in the skies But all we have is the memories of yesterday That make it possible for us to live tomorrow Yesterday I learnt about the reality of loving Now I am learning about heartache and pain Today I have found a new friend – sorrow Between two different worlds – yesterday and tomorrow By Cathrin Stuart
