Yearning
So close
and yet so far
Close enough to throw a stone
and mark your door
Yet as far away as the moon
To be in the ecstasy
of your view, your touch, your smile
then be plunged into the abyss
without you in it
is more than I think I can bear
My positive self
says it is only for a time
My heart so fears otherwise
To see the sun
then have the clouds take it from my view
Will
this cruel, cruel life
mock my passions,
throwing them to the ground
And trample them like leaves on a path?
