Xyris
Resembling a simple yellow beautiful butterfly,
You, O Xyris, stand alone in this universe mystique;
Uncommon, midst thorny bushes you bloom, and gladly sigh,
You shine like sunbeams dipped in gold, though, lo, your stems are weak...!
Two-edged razor-like leaves and iris-like appearance, oh,
Like an angel in yellow apparel, you seem to be;
When tender breeze, on your branches and blooms, gently does blow,
You shake your head as though accepting that fate that falls free...!
Though no physical strength I find in you, there's some spirit,
Which I cannot but accept; you are, indeed, so gentle;
You dare to bloom midst wild plants; there, yet, seems, life little bit,
You're a blend of a matter spiritual and mental...!
In yellowish splendor, hi Xyris, you should shine ever,
There should, in your color and shade, be a black dot never...!
