Wrong-Way Corrigan
One fine July morn in '38 pilot Corrigan cruised up in the blue.
He set the tabs and throttled back and on and on he flew.
From New York to Long Beach he said was his destination,
But somehow, somewhere along the way he made a slight variation!
Instead of landing at Long Beach in California as he intended,
Strangely, somewhere on the Irish turf is where he landed!
NOTE: Based on a true incident. There is some question whether
Douglas Corrigan intentionally made a 180 and flew to Ireland
and whether that was his intent in the first place. In any event,
he is known as "Wrong-way Corrigan" to this very day!
