Written On the Invisible

What we think
with feeling...that which
we articulate – even if
heard by one ear alone –
reaches the multitudes,

having been written on the
invisible as well…

We are far taller, wider, deeper
than any measure would indicate;

far more dense, our dark sides
as vast as our lights – we travel
not only the tops
but bottoms of an
inside/outside universe,

where the real crosses with the
dream; ticks and tacks of civilizations
confounded with inalienable gods –
a board-game having trillions of players
and countless, irreconcilable stars….

For most men it is
up, down, inside
or out – the then
and now...but with
true freedom it is royally
the spoken way
and spoken how….

Thank you, Joe. I truly enjoy your style, the web of reflections you spin. I find your poem's enchantment ineluctable. (Never fear; I looked that one up before committing to it. It means 'irresistible.') Thanks, again, Gershon

To be honest, I had never heard of him until, i listened to Miss Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel.. Do you know why the sang the following line? Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you

Hi Si; I have heard the song, but the music I like, relate most too, is Jazz and Swing. I'm a Buddy Rich/Gene Krupa fan. What I can tell you is, He was a Great Gentleman. Rose from humble beginnings, immigrant parents, to live the American Dream. He showed that this is a nation where dreams can come true with some luck and a lot of hard work. His brother, Dominic, was also a great baseball player. In those days baseball was Home-spun as Apple Pie and Hot Dogs, the great American Pastime that, with little money, every kid could play -- and dream!

Totally agree 100%... I write invisible .. my pen wears a mask... However I did post a personal one ... The thing is whenever I let the emotions flow, I feel drained.... So I guess that's why I bottle it all in.... You are a fine poet my friend... Even thought your name would be so cool as Joe Di Maggio!

Hi Si; now that was a baseball player! Joltin Joe -- The Yankee Clipper! Every Italian Kid in American wanted to be the next Di Maggio, including myself. I think, no matter what we write, being poets, there is an extra intensity that is not found in other writing. A carefulness that insures its publish in the spiritual mind of all humanity -- that same mind each of our works add to and draw from. Thank you my friend for taking time to add your insightful comments. Have a great Day!
