Jenna, I really enjoyed reading this today. Everything about this brief write is so artistic - the quote, the photo, the imagery. I love the word "vessels" as that brings to mind an object that carries something valuable from one place to another, which is what pens do. Words from the well of one heart to another. It's mysterious and downright magical when you really think about it... little symbols on a blank page allow me to see into another person's heart. A fav ~ John

I do, John, from using India ink for projects, but for writing... most younger people would only think of them with regard to the era of Shakespeare. Thanks.

Writing brought me joy over the decades but one wonders how future generations will enjoy life without being able to even read, let alone write cursive! Aloha!

As long as they can hold a cell phone, they'll be able to communicate. Cursive lost...what a shame. Fingers now press buttons instead of holding a pen. Thanks, Rico.

I know it’s not your full intention here Jenna, but I think your poem allows for another angle, I find it’s also amazing how some of our darkest poems can be just as cathartic as the bright ones, especially if like you said it comes from the heart, cheers David

One of the wonderful traits of a poem is that it means different things to different minds, eyes that see, and hearts that feel all sorts of emotions. Yes, David, I agree and have exposed both my sadness and joy in my lines. Thanks for pointing out the separate paths.
